All the best fifi. Good luck.

BelOfTheBall79 · 25/05/2016 06:03

Fifi good luck. You and your baby will be in my thoughts this morning. Let us know how it goes.

Juflin I wish I'd spent some time thinking about what some reasonable expectations were for me! I got to train to London yesterday for my weekly trip down and ended up feeling very faint and dizzy. Couldn't get in touch with DH so instead of heading to the office I went to St Thomas'! Spent all day having tests the long and short of it all being that I had low blood pressure. Baby's heartbeat was monitored on a CTG and all OK there thank goodness. Not much can be done about low BP though so I was discharged late afternoon and told to rest, eat well and drink plenty of fluids. Then went back to station and got train home! My boss has told me to take it easy but it does make me feel like I'm not doing everything I should at work. But just have to prioritise health and my baby now. DH picked me up from the station and has now said he doesn't want me going to London again. Not sure how realistic that is but do need to think seriously on it.

Juflin you will have lots of fun picking out things for your baby. Have you got any thoughts on what buggy you want? My friends sent me loads of lists of things to get which I consolidated so message me if you want me to send them to you. You don't need everything on them though, there's so much stuff on the ones I was sent!

Sorry not replying to everyone's posts, I am not good at remembering who is up to what! But hope everyone is OK this morning. Cake for everyone!

mascaraisamust · 25/05/2016 06:07

I've fallen off this thread as I've also been in and out of hospital too but dropping by to say good luck Fifi. You're in good hands, thinking of you! X

Hope everyone else is well, I try to read when I can I'm just rubbish at commenting. Also been having lots of trace scans.

Where is time going?!

Ellizardo · 25/05/2016 06:52

Fifi - all the very best this morning for you and your little one. I'm sure the other c sectioners can reassure you that, though far from your favourite thing in the world, it's an incredible process and you're in the best hands. Distract yourself this morning with some reading/music/whatever and think about the outfit you'll put them in and the cake you'll have after and the sheer wonder if it! Enjoy it if you can and we'll all be here on the other side waiting for a pic! Here's to the first July MN baby and their very cool mummy xx

Good luck today fifi. I'm sure we'll all be thinking of you. Let us know how you get on when you can but make sure you and baby are sorted and settled first. Just think, in a few hours you'll be meeting your little boy for the first time.

Sorry to hear that you've also been in and out of hospital mascara. I couldn't believe at first how much worry these babies can cause before they've even arrived! Hope things settle down for you soon and you get a nice cooperative baby for your traces.

julfin glad you've managed to speak to your boss about work and don't worry about your little meltdown. It's better to have spoken about it and it's great that they agree that expectations should change. Hopefully it will make you feel happier and tasks will feel more manageable. You might want to get started on some shopping though. Wink It's fun once you've got an idea of what you want.

Sounds like a horrible day for you yesterday bel. Try to take it a bit easier from now on if you can. I can see why your dh isn't keen for you to travel to London again. Is there any way you could avoid it - teleconference or remote access?

AnnaT45 · 25/05/2016 07:09

Il catch up properly but I wanted to send a big hug to you fifi I know a c section isn't what you planned but the main thing is baby is safe. It's actually a really lovely experience still and it's so exciting you'll get to see bub soon. Get your mum to get you some huge pants as you can't wear anything near the scar for a whole as its sore. Also a nightgown or maternity leggings are the best thing to wear. Please let us know if you want any advice at all, we are here for you Flowers

mascara it's nice to hear from you but I'm so sorry you're not having a good time. I hoe all is ok and you're feeling better x

AnnaT45 · 25/05/2016 07:10

Oh and make sure you push for string pain relief after. They may fob you off with paracetamol etc but push and you'll get morphin. You'll need it for the first day or so x

julfin · 25/05/2016 07:18

Fifi, very best wishes for this morning. Thinking of you, and looking forward to seeing a photo of our first little one.

Bel hope you're feeling better today. Your boss and your DH are right - you should take it easy. I was amazed at how quickly, once I'd told my boss I couldn't carry on as normal, she totally adjusted her expectations of the pregnant me and made clear that it wasn't the normal me. If you say no, people do actually understand and make adjustments, and they don't think any less of you. You just need to have that conversation - and it's easier than you expect. Yes please re your consolidated list! I don't know how to pm you as I access MN via the app but will try to hop onto the computer later.

Hope everyone has a great day. Especially you Fifi.

julfin · 25/05/2016 07:21

And mascara sorry to hear you've been in hospital too. Thinking of you too.

Lulabells · 25/05/2016 07:22

Good luck Fifi. Wishing you and your baby all the best Flowers

TheMissingPieceToMyPuzzle · 25/05/2016 07:29

Good luck today Fifi!! You are in the best hands and Im sure your little one will be okay! Sending hugs!

Had an eventful morning already! Just had to save a little bird from my partners nans cat! Luckily wasnt injured and could still strongly fly! The poor thing. Hate cats sometimes haha!

birchybaby2 · 25/05/2016 07:44

Good luck fifi. Sounds like you've been monitored really well and Dr' s obviously think delivering the baby the best thing. You'll both be in safe hands. Xx
Sports day with daughter and then an 8 hour shift. Counting down to maternity leave. 7 shifts over next 3 and half weeks and counting. Beginning to struggle now and like others say feel letting colleagues down when not rushing around as pulling my weight. Roll on bedtime. Xx

SpeakNoWords · 25/05/2016 07:51

Just seen your update fifi - good luck, and hope it all goes smoothly. I'll be thinking of you this morning. Flowers

MrsRolly · 25/05/2016 07:57

Good Luck Fifi will be thinking of you this morning!

Julfin I think we may be working to a similar time, I am starting to feel the pressure of working as normal with being this pregnant. I only have four weeks to train my external mat cover though and I am slightly paranoid I may have baby in the final week! Although I know (rationally - ha pregnant me sometimes struggles with rational) every baby is different but my DD was 37 weeks exactly and my mum didn't get anywhere past 38 with any of us so we will see.

Hope everyone else is ok this morning and gets to enjoy the sunshine this week is offering. We had a BBQ dinner on the beach last night after work and clubs which has helped restore some sanity I love watching the sea. We are camping this weekend does anyone else have any nice bank holiday plans?

SunnyScot89 · 25/05/2016 08:03

Good luck fifi! I'll be thinking about you. Let us know how you get on once you're all settled! Looking forward to seeing our first July baby!!

Hello to everyone else, hope you're all well, been a bit rubbish with the thread now I'm on the fb group!! Sorry!! Life just seems to be running away just now, desperate to meet my little boy but got so much needing done before he arrives! Only 3 weeks left at work tho!! :-)

Fifi good luck for today. You get to meet your baby soon. Fx baby is a good weight for you.

Mascara sorry you've been in and out of hospital.

Very trivial in the grand scheme of things. But I have a really bad cough/ cold. I haven't slept for two nights and now I feel like I've pulled a muscle on my right side. Baby hasn't been moving much so once I've dropped ds3 off at the childminders I'm going to try having a cold drink and lying on my side. Hopefully he will wake up and I won't need to go in for monitoring. I imagine if I'm ill he probably isn't feeling the best. I was spectacularly sick last night as well.

Good luck for this morning fifi will keep you and your little boy in my thoughts. It's not under ideal circumstances but it's it's quite exciting you get to meet him so soon. I was born at 28 weeks (that was in the 80s before medical marvels that exist now) and did absolutely fine so I'm sure he will be well taken care of at the hospital and developmentally he will be just fine.

Sorry not had a chance to post much recently work has been really manic trying to finish up everything before mat leave starts. I've been a bit panicky this week as been having strong period pains on and off since Monday. Dr. Google says its normal but still made me worry about premature delivery especially as there's a history of it in the family. Will catch up properly on everyone's news later.

Fifi good luck today - sending hand squeezes and hugs Flowers You'll be in such safe hands and you get to meet your baby soon - how wonderful! Xxx

Eliz so sorry about your friend. It's so cruel when we lose people so young. Thinking of you Cxx

Mascara hope you're ok - sorry you've been having a rough time xx

Cheery1 · 25/05/2016 08:39

allthegood period pains I recognise - I find it's worse when I need a poo! Definitely tied into the lovely constipation of pregnancy. Don't know if that's familiar or tmi?!

Cheery1 · 25/05/2016 08:41

tams glad things looking ok for you. I went in a few weeks ago as was really worried about his movements - it was weird as the moniter was picking up loads of movement but I couldn't feel all of it - I think because of anterior placenta there's a lot I can't feel which is a bit disconcerting. Anyway - it's an anxious time this pregnancy thing eh?!

Cheery1 · 25/05/2016 08:43

Other ladies - I'm emerging from crazy work time so looking forward to catching up properly. Deadline for evaluation is 1st June and I'm so looking forward to it!!! Many apologies for missing things xxx

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 25/05/2016 09:05

cheery definitely sounds familiar!

gnat99 · 25/05/2016 10:05

Good luck today Fifi, will be thinking of you! Flowers

Sorry all, I've dropped off thread over the past few weeks. Been catching up on reading your posts here and there, but no chance to write anything myself. Glad you are all mostly OK - we are getting closer and closer to exciting times! Nearly time for a 9th thread, looks like...

DH's auntie had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago and was in hospital for the best part of a week. She is fine now but it was a worrying and busy time. She lives near us, but the rest of the family are at least 4 hours away. So we were in and out of hospital a lot, and had MIL staying with us. (Selfishly, I was also upset by how much she kept 'trying to help' with things - especially things like painting the nursery, or washing baby clothes, and all the things we wanted to enjoy doing ourselves for the baby!)

Also had a bladder infection at the same time which thankfully has cleared up now. Still tired and anaemic, although I think the extra dose of tablets is finally kicking in. Otherwise all good with me and baby. Have 34 week appointment today.

Oh, and we have finished our NCT classes - we found them really useful. Had a really good and nice teacher, and a lovely group. Very balanced information I would say, none of the 'natural bias' I've heard of. She dealt with caesarians and bottlefeeding as well as vaginal birth and breastfeeding. We also did a free NHS Saturday class - also good but slightly wasted on us that day due to distractedness over auntie heart attack worry...

Have almost finished packing my hospital bag! Think baby's moved from transverse position to head down, as I feel lots of pressure in pelvis last couple of days. Will be interesting to hear what the midwife says today.

Happy Wednesday everyone Smile

34 weeks
