We're handholding for the newly graduated viroids and handing out hooyahs to badly behaved miroids. Between womble pains and boobs with veins, some of us are still managing to shag! It's JS Grads 47!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Congrats back at you Name! Hope you are enjoying your little secret and I'm sure the cats will sense your hormones very soon! (My dog did!)

lildottie · 14/07/2016 15:13

Congratulations pee looking forward to the birth story!

FuzzyOwl · 14/07/2016 15:50

Congratulations Peenut and I hope you are both continuing to do well.

Great news Name and lovely to see you on here.

NameChange30 · 14/07/2016 21:36

Thanks Peenut and Fuzzy Smile
Girl cat is acting a bit weird (more crazy and less affectionate that usual) but I have no idea if that has anything to do with me and my hormones!

SockQueen · 15/07/2016 12:33

Congratulations to both Peenut and Name! Good to have another newbie join us!

I'm having a bit of a flap today, because I'm at the end of my week of AL and haven't don't half the things I wanted to. The house is an absolute state, made worse by all our Amazon Prime packages arriving and the boxes being everywhere. DH isn't helping and I'm really worried about how we're going to manage when the baby arrives - he keeps saying "everything will be ok, I'll take care of it" but never puts a single thing away and doesn't seem to understand why I'm stressed about the state of the place. For example, he made cookies on Saturday night. To do this, he took out about 6 different cookbooks from the shelf, and STILL hasn't put them away despite me asking several times and pointing out that I can't do it because picking heavy stuff up off the floor is hurting my already-splitting abdominal muscles. I only want to have to look after one child, not two!

SockQueen · 23/07/2016 15:55

It's all gone very quiet over here... Are you all ok or have you melted in the heatwave?

It was a fairly miserable week for me, couldn't sleep, plodding through work (theatres nice and cool, the rest of the hospital was an oven). I got quite swollen ankles so got paranoid about pre-eclampsia, but went to the antenatal assessment unit for a BP/urine check and it was all ok. Then spent yesterday evening and this morning frantically tidying and cleaning the house prior to landlord inspection today and then PiL visiting tomorrow. Planning a lazy afternoon followed by a trip to Waitrose and ice cream. How is everyone else?

LondonGirl83 · 23/07/2016 16:19

Have my booking in appointment on Monday when I'll be 10+2 so just taking it easy until then. Also, meeting my probably consultant on Tuesday and getting another scan before going on holiday.

We've started clearing out junk from different places in the house today to make room for baby stuff (like pram etc). I wanted to do some painting but apparently the NHS advise against this in the first trimester.

FuzzyOwl · 23/07/2016 20:50

Glad all is ok with you Sock and I hope you're feeling more relaxed about how you will cope when the baby arrives now - because you really will cope.

Hope your booking appointment goes you well London.

I think I did melt in the heat but am slowly beginning to reassemble myself. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

MyBlackCat · 25/07/2016 17:34

I'm still here, having log in issues on my iPad so not frequently on the thread. I'm halfway - 20 weeks Smile not got scan until next week as currently in Italy on holiday Grin feeling very fat and not liking how I look in a bikini, a bikini that I had to go up two sizes to fit in Shock also had to get new bras as I was bursting out of my previous ones.

Hope everyone is ok, there doesn't seem too many on the thread, we need some new graduates Smile

SockQueen · 26/07/2016 18:14

We definitely need new grads! I think I might be the nearest to popping now, how did that happen? Definitely developing a waddle around work. 17 days to go till ML!

Feeling more calm about the baby coming, but now getting stressed out by house-buying. Got messed around by the owners of the place we're buying wanting us to up our offer, and now we're running into trouble with finding a mortgage. We're both finding this ridiculously frustrating - we have a 30% deposit, we both have good incomes, but because we're technically on fixed term contracts (mine is for at least the next 5 years and DH's for 2, but both of us expect to be renewed at the end) it's causing no end of issues. Argh!

NameChange30 · 26/07/2016 20:10

Sock Have you tried Halifax? When we bought our house 2 years ago they were the most lenient mortgage lender - not sure if it's changed since then but it could well be worth talking to them.

I'm 8+5 today and bored of being pregnant already! I've been feeling very tired and sorry for myself. I miss being an evening person and being able to drink cocktails and cider (especially as it's the summer!) We've told close family and friends about the pregnancy, which was lovely as they're all very happy for us, but it still doesn't feel real. I don't think it will until my 12 week scan.

MimiDiddy · 26/07/2016 20:46

Sock sorry to hear you're having probs getting a mortgage, lenders are so damn hard to please if you don't fit their mould. We struggled too, went with a local building society in the end as they treated us like people rather than statistics that didn't fit the parameters, and they weren't on the comparison websites.

Apologies for being a naughty grad and not posting much on here. I've got my 12wk scan tomorrow and have been having scary miscarriage dreams. I saw a heartbeat at 8wks so the chances are things will be fine but after 3 miscarriages I don't think I'll ever stop worrying about this little one.

FuzzyOwl · 26/07/2016 20:48

Sock are you using a broker because they should be able to find a mortgage provider that doesn't mind your contract situation. House buying is so stressful! Hope it all goes well for you.

I'm very envious MyBlack and hope you are having a lovely time in Italy.

I miss cider as well Name.

FuzzyOwl · 26/07/2016 20:48

Good luck tomorrow Mimi.

MyBlackCat · 26/07/2016 21:11

I miss wine and basically all alcohol - I've taken to sniffing bottles which is basically torturing myself Shock

SockQueen · 27/07/2016 07:33

We were trying to go direct, but having had no joy with that we're now using a broker. I'm letting DH handle it though, as otherwise I'd end up crying down the phone at someone. Particularly pissed off at HSBC, who initially gave us a huge agreement in principle, then made me wait almost 2 weeks for a phone appointment with a mortgage adviser to discuss which product to take out, only to be told that they can't count DH's salary as he's been in his current job less than 2 years and it's a fixed term contract. Will be complaining about that.

Good luck for the scan Mimi!

I haven't really found it hard going without alcohol, tbh. I miss smelly cheese and naice ham much more!

Canters15 · 27/07/2016 16:28

What's the issue with naice ham, sock? I've mainly ignored the food guidelines as listeria risk is higher from bagged salad then from fancy meats etc....I've also had a couple of little glasses of wine since I hit 20 weeks. I do miss cocktails, and I can't wait to have my normal appetite back.

We've just moved, loving our new house but no internet but or tv for another two weeks which is driving me a bit bonkers!

NameChange30 · 27/07/2016 17:36

Yeah I was wondering the same about ham. I've been eating it. The other restrictions are a PITA and I think I'd have a tantrum if there was something else I couldn't eat! (This may be pregnancy exhaustion related...)

I read "Expecting Better" by Emily Oster and there's a really good chapter about food restrictions, why they exist, and what is really high risk as opposed to low risk.

MyBlackCat · 27/07/2016 17:51

I've didn't read the food restrictions taking the what I don't know won't hurt approach Shock I've eaten lots of cured meat in the last few days and littleblackcat is still kicking away Smile

SockQueen · 28/07/2016 07:33

NHS website says cold cured meats like chorizo, parma ham etc are at risk of containing toxoplasmosis. Cooked ham (which most British style ham is) is ok. I realise it's a small risk, but I can manage without it for the duration.

Canters15 · 28/07/2016 14:30

Yes I found expecting better very useful! Fair enough, I had cats as a child so very high probability ive been exposed to toxoplasmosis already.

I'm changing rotations next week and getting a bit worried. On call frequency for new speciality is much higher but none residential so they are full 24 hour on calls, with no rest day after....I'm screwed if it's busy!

NameChange30 · 28/07/2016 17:01

Canters I don't think you can get toxoplasmosis just from being around cats, I think you get it from being in contact with their faeces... I doubt you were in charge of emptying the litter tray as a child?! But if you want to check you can ask your GP for a blood test. I got one before TTC and the results show that I've never had toxoplasmosis (despite having cats) which means I still have to be careful, although the risk is pretty low. DH has still insisted on doing the litter tray, and I haven't objected! Wink

Canters15 · 29/07/2016 10:16

Ah crap! May have to re read that chapter in expecting better as am sure there was something about probability of toxoplasmosis exposure and I decided it was v likely I had been....v free range rural childhood....however had maybe back away from the chorizo! Sad face.

MimiDiddy · 29/07/2016 11:34

Canters no need to back away from the chorizo Shock, NHS says it fine as long as it's cooked or has been frozen food a couple of days if uncooked. I'm sticking to NHS's advice as gets to confusing otherwise. I got told off by my MW at booking appointment for eating stir fried prawns, but NHS advice is to steer clear of raw or undercooked shellfish. It's all too confusing Confused

NameChange30 · 29/07/2016 11:38

Prawns? Wtf is wrong with cooked prawns?! None of the books or other guidelines I've read have said they're off limits.
