Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Congratulations Kate, and welcome to the world Baby Beckett.

Congrats on the scan London. The cervix thing sounds painful, GX it's just one of those passing preggo symptoms.

It's been a busy few weeks for me so have been lurking rather than posting. I'm 9 weeks today, the nausea seems to have passed but feel exhausted. I had a scan at 8+3 and Lil Diddy was measuring bang on for dates and me and DH both cried as soon as we saw our little bean. It's our 4th pregnancy and first time we've had a successful scan. I think we were both a bit surprised how baby-sitting it looked. We also saw a good strong heartbeat so the miscarriage risk had dropped from 40% to 2%.

I was a bit freaked out for a few days by the idea that a small person is actually growing in me Confused. I think after 3 MCs, the bfp = baby idea had got a bit broken in my thinking. I'm also having a winter baby (Feb) but think there's a long way to go before I'll be buying any baby stuff.

I hope everyone's having a nice relaxing weekend Smile

lildottie · 03/07/2016 15:21

Congratulations kate, sorry to you are having feeding issues. Persevera CE and pumping got me through without having to give lilbean any bottles or formula. We gave colostrum from syringes initially to avoid nipple confusion. Hope you have plenty of support getting it sorted with mws etc. It's bloody hard but within a could weeks the perseverance pays off, I promise.

Lovely to here happy early scan news London and diddy, especially after roller coaster journeys. Totally understand the bfp = baby thing not feeling normal. There will be plenty of things to keep you guarded along the way but when you get to the end goal it's incredible x

KateBeckett · 03/07/2016 17:44

Yes lil we had to express and syringe feed yesterday! Got some nipple shields today which are sooooo helpful. We think it's very likely babybeckett has a tongue tie, and possibly a lip tie too, hence the massive pain Shock

Yay for lovely scan news! I still remember the look on dp's face at our 12w scan Smile

canters if you pm me or someone your Facebook name we can add you to the group. I'm only on day 4 post baby and it's been really helpful so far!

SockQueen · 03/07/2016 20:40

Big congratulations Kate - I hope you're settling in well now.

Great scan news London and Mimi, gx for a tedious ~7 months now.

I had a lovely weekend away with some old uni friends, one of whom is also pregnant, due a few weeks before me. We'd decided not to do a baby shower, but have a "last hurrah" weekend of freedom before the sprogs arrive. Stayed in a nice hotel in central Birmingham, ate a LOT, wandered around, went on a canal boat, all very civilised and lovely. And even though it wasn't a baby shower I still got some very thoughtful presents and lots of advice. Grin

lildottie · 06/07/2016 09:11

Just seen something on Facebook about a recall of armadillo flip pushchairs for a safety check. Might be worth checking out if you've bought one link

FuzzyOwl · 07/07/2016 09:32

Great news London.

Congratulations Kate.

Canters, I will post in the FB group and ask someone to come on here to message you about being added.

Canters15 · 07/07/2016 12:32

Its ok fuzzy, I'm in! Was told the secret handshake and everything! Thanks though Grin

Getting some proper kick out of mini canters now, I could see my belly moving last night...freaky but awesome!

SockQueen · 07/07/2016 23:12

Yay for kicks Canters!

We're buying a house! Had offer accepted this week - after a bit of wrangling where we got accepted, then someone outbid us, had to raise our offer then we got re-accepted again, which caused me a lot of pregnant-lady-rage. Now we're handling solicitors and mortgage applications, which are obviously complicated by my imminent mat leave and associated drop in income.

I've also got all of next week off work as I'm using up annual leave (can't carry it over past August unfortunately otherwise I could start mat leave sooner). I wanted to go away on a little mini-break but don't think we can spare the cash now that we've got to deal with the house move.

FuzzyOwl · 07/07/2016 23:28

Hope it all goes smoothly Sock.

Canters15 · 08/07/2016 16:46

Oooh congrats sock!! Very stressful but worth it in the end.

We're getting the keys for our new place tomorrow, still renting but it's a lovely big townhouse with a garden rather then our pokey little flat....movers booked for next weekend!

MyBlackCat · 08/07/2016 17:12

Good luck to the movers Smile

Can anyone tell me where I can find the 2nd trimester glow please? I'm 18 weeks, still knackered, got back ache and struggle to sit comfortably, dizzy when I go from sitting to standing, get cramps in my legs at night. I've totally popped recently, my belly doesn't feel like it wants to stretch with how my belly is growing Shock

I'm starting to panic about actually having a baby, I have no clue how to look after one! Do I do nct classes or not? How will I meet other new mums if I don't? People keep telling me to do yoga - I really don't fancy it at all. I still have 5 months of this.... Help Confused

SockQueen · 09/07/2016 16:30

I only have 9 weeks to go and still don't really feel like I have a clue, MyBlackCat! Never really got "the glow" though I started to feel a bit better about myself when I had a proper bump (this didn't happen for me till ~25/40 as I have a lot of fat to cushion it) and looked obviously pregnant rather than just chubby! Have just looked in the mirror and seen a massive spot though. [hmmm] I use Bio Oil on my bump every day and it seems to have kept the skin nice and soft; no stretch marks so far.

NCT etc is up to you. Depends on how much you (and Mr Cat!) already know about birth, whether you're already going to hospital classes, whether there are any alternatives you fancy more like Daisy, and how much you want/need "mum friends." Because we've moved around a fair bit in the last few years, I don't have any non-work local friends, plus DH knows feck all about childbirth, so I thought it would be useful for both of those. We don't start classes till mid-August though, so I'll let you know then how well I get on!

I've been going to antenatal yoga since about 24 weeks and I really enjoy it! I'd not really done yoga before apart from a couple of tasters, but I find it very gentle and relaxing, whilst also strengthening my core/pelvic floor (I'm doing the exercises now as I write this!) It's not massively social though, we have a bit of a chat at the start, but the class is done in silence and we have to clear out of the hall quickly afterwards. Aqua natal has been a bit more sociable as we can chat all the way through and there's a 5 minute chillout at the end, floating about on pool noodles and chatting. I don't know where you're based, but a quick google/FB search should show you what options are available nearby.

FuzzyOwl · 09/07/2016 17:10

Hope the move goes well Canters.

The glow is a lie! I am going to do NCT classes because I don't know anyone where I live. I'm also doing prenatal yoga and don't really enjoy it but figure it is another good way of meeting people and it might help with my various aches and pains.

lildottie · 10/07/2016 09:30

I found the 2 day daisy parenting class much better than the never ending nct classes from the point of view of getting info and feeling prepared. Didn't really rate the nct for making friends either until we had our babies. Now our 3am chats on WhatsApp are part of my routine! Probably helped that 5 of us had our babies within 1.5wjs of each other too.

SockQueen · 10/07/2016 20:59

One of my aqua natal buddies is a midwife who really rates Daisy. Unfortunately they didn't have classes at a convenient time for me.

LondonGirl83 · 11/07/2016 12:31

I've never heard of Daisy before. I have lots of local friends but I am the first of my local friends to have kids so I think I'll do NCT for the social side of things when the time comes.

I'm at just over 8 weeks and feel really sick all the time now. I can't eat anything. Have lost half a stone. Can't focus on work. Just want to go lie down and sleep until second trimester when the nausea is gone.

How soon into the 2nd trimester did you ladies start to feel better?

Canters15 · 11/07/2016 13:26

Not until about 17 weeks when I went on antiemetics, London. If youve lost weight I'd get in touch with your gp and look at getting some meds dont be an utter tool like me and feel crap for weeks for no good reason

LondonGirl83 · 11/07/2016 15:05

Eeep canters I don't think I could manage for another 9 weeks like this. I haven't lost weight this past week but if it starts to drop again, I'll mention it at my booking in appointment in a couple of weeks and see what they say.

SockQueen · 11/07/2016 16:04

I started taking antiemetics (mostly cyclizine) about 11-12 weeks - I couldn't summon up the energy to make a doctors' appointment, but fortunately one of my colleagues told me to stop being stubborn and basically forced a prescription into my hand! They helped hugely, didn't stop the nausea/vomiting completely but made it much more manageable. Symptoms really started to improve after 16-ish weeks, still had the occasional vom for a few weeks but felt more human and the relentless nausea was gone, plus things started to taste normal again. If you're struggling, go to your GP! The mw may not be able to prescribe anything at booking anyway, so don't hold on just for that.

Canters15 · 11/07/2016 17:21

Agree with sock, my midwife didn't do anything about it when I told her at booking. Just asked if I thought it was hyperemesis, which it wasn't. Much like sock, my consultant forced me into calling my gp who thankfully was happy to prescribe over the phone.

FuzzyOwl · 11/07/2016 17:32

Do go and see your GP London. No point or need to suffer unnecessarily. Really hope you get some medication and the sickness eases soon.

SockQueen · 13/07/2016 11:48

My Brownies did me a surprise baby shower last night! Blush They made cards and gave me a list of suggested names, plus played lots of silly games. Some of them did seem a little confused by the concept and asked where the baby was, so I had to explain that it was still in my tummy but would be coming right at the start of next term so I might not be able to come to Brownies again before it arrives (I'm missing their first ever Pack Holiday because it's on my due date weekend, which I'm a bit gutted about!)

Also spent quite a lot of time and money on Amazon Prime day, got a changing bag, muslins, breast pump and bath/room thermometers, but missed out on the baby monitor I wanted. Then went to ebay and picked up a couple of bundles of 0-3 months clothes. There's still an awful lot of stuff on my list though!

FuzzyOwl · 13/07/2016 11:58

How lovely of your Brownies Sock and very organised of you to get so much yesterday. I found I needed very little in the early days and next day delivery was brilliant for all the extras I thought of as I went along.

How is everyone else doing?

Peenut · 14/07/2016 10:07

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't had chance to read any of the recent posts but I will do, had probs logging in but it's wanted to say I did a baby!

A little boy 7lb 5oz, born 12 days ago, 8 days before my due date! Stealth baby! He's wonderful and life has been a bit manic since!

I'll post a full birth story soon, was lucky enough to use the pool which made the pain bearable -hypno birthing REALLY helped and I didn't need stitches. I was amazed as it bloody felt like I did as he came out! More on that soon ...

Hope you are all ok and blooming!

NameChange30 · 14/07/2016 10:15

Hello everyone! I've been lurking and figure it's time to join in...
I'm 7 weeks pregnant today, Ovia tells me my blueberry is now a raspberry Smile and my EDD is 2nd March.
I started TTC and joined the JS threads in Feb 2016, so I recognise a few names on here
I'm 30 and this is my first pregnancy. First child for me and DH. We have two lovely cats who are scared of babies and toddlers (they run away whenever we have small visitors!) so it'll be a big change for them too Grin
We haven't told anyone yet but we have various family engagements this weekend so it'll be a serious of announcements! I've been dying to tell people ever since I got my BFP but now it's come to it I feel strangely nervous. I know they'll be delighted though.

Congrats Peenut!
