Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

lil are there any circumstances in which you can have cake? How about if it's flour and dairy free?

5hell · 13/04/2016 19:20

Still here, but feeling OK about it tonight (unlike yesterday evening's tears) ...sent dh home in the hope of invoking LOS and needing him to drive all the way back to get me later. Anyone know if NHS have a discharge time cut off?

Gx and Flowers for cats & sky

Sounds like you're getting organised lil Grin ...my advice: more cellular blankets and a good variety of mat pads

MyBlackCat · 13/04/2016 19:26

I had a mole removed last year feathered was on the emergency referral and removed straight away, scars not great but all was ok, hope it is for you too.

So I think I have symptoms, I'm barely able to run and today threw up 1/2 mile from home, now I feel ready for bed and it's not 7:30 Shock

Rang the midwife and have my booking in appointment - it's starting to feel real.

Canters15 · 13/04/2016 20:46

I am behind with this thread!

Am still knackered and sick. Fortunately the on call gods have smiled on me and I have had three straightforward calls this evening, all of which could be dealt with from my sofa!

Yay for symptoms black.

corgi88 · 13/04/2016 22:58

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 14/04/2016 05:53

Just checking in. Things here are a bit dicey. I had an anaphylactic reaction to my antibiotics this morning and another allergic reaction to a different and rare antibiotic this evening. They are running out of types to try and they all carry the risk of anaphylactic shock as I am known to be allergic to 5 different kinds now all with different features. They still need to treat the infections. Hopefully my sepsis cultures will be back tomorrow and about 12 hours after admission mastitis appeared Sad I want skin prick testing before they give me anything else but that's only done in outpatient clinics and not at this hospital. Any medical types on Fred can you advise if this is something I can demand? The other option is we can pay to do it peivately but again I'd probably need to leave hospital. There is a hospital in Central London that does it. I've asked my family who were coming to visit next week to come sooner as I am getting very worried and I want my daughter to have someone other than just her dad to support her. Cross all your fingers for us please!

CarrotPuff · 14/04/2016 08:35

Gosh Sky I hope they find drugs for you soon, sounds awful you poor thing.

MollyBloomYes · 14/04/2016 09:18

Just done a bit of catching up to say hello...Sky that sounds horrific and I really hope you get the support and meds you need soon Thanks

KateBeckett · 14/04/2016 09:20

Oh sky Flowers fingers toes and eyes crossed that they find something to help soon. X

lildottie · 14/04/2016 09:49

Oh god sky, hope they've found some suitable drugs now. Sending lots of get well thoughts, unmumsnetty hugs and crossing everything going for you. Hope DDs are doing ok Flowers

Peenut · 14/04/2016 10:01

Goodness Sky, hope they get you sorted soon! Sounds scary but I'm sure you are in good hands, sorry I don't have medical knowledge enough to suggest what you can ask for with the testing. Let us know how you are x

SockQueen · 14/04/2016 10:34

Sorry you're having such a rough time Sky.

I don't think anyone would do skin prick testing on someone who is currently unwell AND has had a very recent allergic reaction - it wouldn't be safe and the results wouldn't necessarily be valid as you'll have all kinds of inflammatory mediators floating around at the moment. And if your hospital doesn't do it as an inpatient service, "demanding" won't get you anywhere even if it were safe. Aside from the anaphylactic reaction, what other reactions to other antibiotics have you had? Some reactions that people think are allergies are actually just side-effects - unpleasant but not necessarily dangerous (e.g. stomach pains/diarrhoea with erythro/clarithromycin). Your team should be able to speak to the local microbiology service for advice on what you can be given.

I am getting confuzzled by my hospital. Got two letters yesterday, one dated late March which was cancelling my June GTT and gave me the date 2 weeks ago that I already attended; the second dated early April (after I'd had the first test) giving me another appointment for my birthday again, but at a different time. I guess I'll have to call my midwife and ask if I need to go to it again.

ScottishLady7 · 14/04/2016 10:38

sky that sounds horrible and really scary for you. I don't have any experience of patch testing for antibiotics in sepsis situations. Sepsis needs to be dealt with quickly and the patch testing probably takes too long to be safe in your situation.
I'm sure your team are liaising closely with the microbiology consultants. Maybe you can ask to speak to them about the antibiotics and your concerns?

ScottishLady7 · 14/04/2016 10:40

Oops sorry for barging in and x-posting with sock with the same advice!

slopes back to undergrads

fruitlovingmonkey · 14/04/2016 10:45

Blimey Sky, that all sounds a bit scary.
Hope the scan went well Shell and that you get to go home soon.
Glad it was helpful Corgi, hope to see you back here in a jiffy.
Yay for car seat Lil, we fitted ours about a week ago and it certainly makes it seem real driving around with an infant seat in the back!
Starting to pack my hospital bag today. Still not sure exactly what I need because the hospital keep fobbing us off about going to look around/ talk to them. Guess we should have gone to the ante- natal classes! I'm going to try to pack the basics and then adapt it after I speak to them.

OMG sky hope you are ok and they manage to find something that doesn't cause problems! Big hugs!

Ohwoolballs · 14/04/2016 14:53

Massive love for you sky This all sounds so overwhelming and horrific to you and your family. 💐 I hope the Docs find something that will work for you and everything clears up as soon as possible x

5hell · 14/04/2016 15:02

sky so sorry you're not improving quicker, it must be so worryimg. Thinking of you and your family Flowers

I was discharged late last night Smile, have health visitor shortly (who I missed yesterday) and a slightly snotty baby Confused

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 14/04/2016 16:28

Thank you everyone. I feel so loved 💖 I haven't had any further reaction since about 4am now. My observations are all normal so I am much more relaxed. The mastitis still there but under control and pumping to beat the band to keep it clear. Likely going to see a private allergy specialist ASAP just working out the details and of course will need to be either discharged or moved to another hospital for that to happen. Hoping against hope I won't need antibiotics again soon as trial and error is the only way. sock my reactionson were anaphylactic to all 5. 3 of them were given to treat the suspected sepsis and we aren't sure which one caused the reaction, another I went into anaphylactic shock and needed several doses of adrenaline, and the last one was full body hives and rigors.

The good news is my sepsis cultures came back negative so it may have been a viral infection that is now on it's way out since I am so much better.

So happy for you to be at home 5hell was your sleep last night the best ever? There's noting like your own bed except a really plush hotel bed

KateBeckett · 14/04/2016 16:51

So glad you're feeling better sky gx you do t need any antibiotics until you've figured out which ones are safe for you !

We've just come out of growth scan- all fine, babybeckett is on 10th centile, so is small but not outside of the range. Phew! I've got to go back in two weeks to make sure he has grown, but the midwife seemed really relaxed so I'm much more chilled now.

In other news, dp has got to have a blood count done, as he has had some symptoms which could be totally normal, but could also indicate serious side effects from a medication he is currently taking... Hoping the results come in soon as we are both a bit stressed about it!

lildottie · 14/04/2016 18:22

Good news that it's not sepsis sky, and glad you are starting to feel a little better.

Kate mine was close to 10th on some things at 25wks and had jumped up a fair bit by 28. Have another scam tomorrow at 31+3.

Nfmgd: I just want a piece of soft white garlicy bread followed by a toffee crisp and a cream cake. I have no idea what to eat any more, I'm bored of food!

SockQueen · 14/04/2016 22:50

Glad things are looking up Sky - definitely get tested (NHS or private) if you can, just so you know what to avoid and what is safe in future. Hope you get out of there soon.

Gx for your DH, KateBeckett

SockQueen · 15/04/2016 08:38

I'm spending today on a multi-disciplinary obstetric emergency training course at my hospital. Hope this doesn't get too scary!

Catscatsandmorecats · 15/04/2016 09:21

Sky so good to hear things were improving last night, gx for you that you carry on getting better and you're about to get the tests done you need without too much hassle.

Shell Hooray for getting home!

Sock That surely isn't the greatest timing for you! Let us know how you get on - eek!

Thank you viroids for reassurance on the mole, I am swinging between petrified that it'll be malignant and I will face an awful decision between treatment/investigations and the pregnancy to being very pleased it's off and being sure it'll be fine and it will be good to have that worry gone. Either way it is a little awkward with a wound healing on the bottom of my bum, it moves every time I do, at least it isn't too sore. Blush
