Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Bonjour viroids! I am back from an action packed week in rural France (!)

chat so so sorry to hear your news xx Sad Flowers I am gutted for you X

Mer eek sounds like you have had an eventful week! Glad the girls are still in situ for now, gx you make it a few more weeks at least. When is your next scan?

pee sounds scary! Glad everything has turned out ok though! Are you going to Aqua natal tomorrow? Thinking about joining you, walking is v painful atm so wondering if bobbing around might be a more comfortable form of excersise!! Do you need to book? Hope the miroid is behaving himself now.

lil don't say that, mine is tomorrow!! Shock

So, just had my 28w midwife appointment, and have been referred for a scan as bump is only measuring 25cm... Finally had my lovely midwife again, and she was lovely and said that scans show a more accurate measurement blah blah, but also said that each referral is now vetted by a doctor and if they don't think you need a scan, you won't have one. Then she said 'but I think they will definitely want to see you' so now I am shitting it and imagining all the worst case scenarios. Sad Also I weighed myself in France and had lost a fair chunk of weight, but assumed it was kinder scales... Now panicking something has gone horribly wrong.
Clinging onto the fact that babybeckett is a wriggle bum...

Mermaid36 · 12/04/2016 13:30

Nice quick check up today - BP still holding steady for me (approx 180/80), girls heartbeats found and nicely stable.
Next visit Friday for a million things - GTT, BP monitoring, scan and Doppler...

Peenut · 12/04/2016 14:15

Bonjour Kate –don't worry, I'm sure it'll all be perfectly OK and that the MW is just following procedure. With the weight thing –I noticed I've stayed the same despite getting a much huger bump! It did make me worry a bit but I think all is OK. That's good the MW measured your bump (the one I saw the other week said they wouldn't do it until the next appointment. Rubbish) and looking at the positives, you'll get to see the baby again sooner than you thought/get some reassurance.

Is it warm in rural France this time of year? Smile (Warmer than here and less rainy hopefully!)

I am off to aqua tomorrow, I'll send you the deets in a PM.

fruitlovingmonkey · 12/04/2016 14:31

Hope you are feeling better Sky.
Good news about the baby's position Feathered, I wonder if anyone is told their baby is the perfect size? At my last scan, Fruitman had gone from being bang on average every time to right at the bottom of the parameters. I was a bit worried but the doc said she thinks the estimated weight is actually fine. It is a new ultrasound machine and she thinks their weight targets are a bit high. I had a good old google and reassured myself with many tales of estimated weights being completely inaccurate.
Welcome back Kate, hope you had a good holiday. I don't get measured but see above for if BabyBeckett looks smallish on the scan.
Good news Mermaid, hope it goes well on Friday too.
How is the GD Lil?
After a very productive day yesterday I have managed to do bugger all today. I was too tired last night and then woke up in the night with hot flushes. Is anyone else getting ridiculously hot?

OP posts:
5hell · 12/04/2016 14:52

I am ridiculously hot right now fruit ...why do they have to make hospitals the temperature of the sun?? No fever so it's just the heating.

Looks like I'll be spending another night here...still waiting on scan, repeat bloods to be taken & a definitive diagnosis. Bit frustrating as feel fine apart from a bit of cramping now

fruitlovingmonkey · 12/04/2016 16:35

Hope you get some answers soon Shell. Still it's good that they are being cautious.
No idea why hospitals have to be so hot. Maybe the nhs could be saved by turning the thermostat down!

OP posts:
Mermaid36 · 12/04/2016 17:03

YY - all hospitals seem to be ridiculously hot and airless!

CountryGal4 · 12/04/2016 17:28

Our room in the hospital was 24 degrees. 24?!? I've had holidays in the med colder

lildottie · 12/04/2016 18:10

Kate I'm measuring above 95th centile and have a smaller than average baby. The measurements mean sweet fa.

fruit gd is going OK. Have only had one high reading since being diagnosed so I seem to have it under control for the moment.

5hell sorry your suffering. I don't think the individual wards etc can actually change their own heating. We also wondered if changing this could save the NHS when we were in on Friday.

Had mw today. Couldn't help give dh a look when she got the guidance notes out again! Told her I have lost all trust in the people looking after me after the GTT saga. Her only reassurance was I would have again flagged as referral for GTT today as still above the 95th. Great but that's 3 weeks damage I've prevented my baby going through by doing it my way you baffoon! At least I might only have to see her 2 maybe 3 more times.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 12/04/2016 20:01

Copy pasting this from grad grads as a bit too ill to do a fresh take on the post:

So it turns out I have sepsis. Am in hospital for the forseeable future. They haven't been able to pinpoint the primary infection though it would appear I have mastitis and alsoy bloods indicate something viral. The universe has spoken. I needed to sit the eff down. Feeling pretty awful. I've had a temperature all say and I've been having rigors and am in quite a bit of pain. something has been a bit of a guide to me as she's had sepsis twice! On the upside I saw the lead midwife from my birth and was able to give glowing feedback about the MWs I has at my delivery. They were wonderful.

5hell I am wishing you better Flowers

FuzzyOwl · 12/04/2016 20:12

Try not to worry Kate. The measurement is just procedure and I think a couple of cm either way is normal, so you are just outside of that. Hope you had a good time in France. Are you back at work yet?

Good news Mermaid and I hope all three of you remain stable.

Thinking of you 5hell and Sky. Hope you are both much better soon.

KateBeckett · 12/04/2016 20:58

Thanks for all the reassurance lovely viroids. Growth scan booked for Thursday, and bb has been wriggling around this eve. Plus miroid is being very pragmatic and not panicking which is helpful!

5hell I must have missed something when catching up on the thread- hope you're ok? X

sky crikey, that sounds rubbish Flowers take it easy and get well soon ok?

fuzzy not yet, though it is still Easter hols around here!!

France was nice, mostly warm, we had a few days of rain though! did lots of walking and ended up in agony under my bump and hips for a couple of days... Oops Blush

FeatheredTail · 12/04/2016 21:35

Whooping cough doesn't hurt at all going in....then it feels as though you're being punched in the arm for a couple of days! Oof! Get it in the arm you don't write with!

Lil - I'm 36 weeks on Saturday and feeling it! I feel for you with incompetent midwives....the thing is you're intelligent and resourceful - I feel for all the less educated women who rely on them more heavily for advice and a strong course of action and don't necessarily question their care!

Fruit I hear ya! I'm always so hot at work!

I got my leaving present from work today - a lovely navy blue storksak! I'm way too tight to have bought one myself, so super pleased.

Shell and Sky - you poor poor things. How are you both feeling this evening? Glad you're both in the right place.

Kate glad you're more chilled out about bump measurement. It seems like such a lame/prehistoric way of estimating growth - but hurray for an extra scan eh?!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/04/2016 00:01

The antibiotics are working and my fever broke. Managed a bit of sleep and sent DP home to rest. He was up texting me until 530 then up with DD at 730. Before he left he went out and brought back disposable pants and a McDonald's meal with milkshake for me. Absolute legend that one is! I am so grateful for the NHS and the care I had. It was fairly scary and the rigors (shaking fits caused by fever) were horrific. My doctors and midwives have been incredible.

5hell · 13/04/2016 08:53

So glad to hear the abs are sorting u out sky ...thinking of u Flowers & Chocolate

I'm feeling fine other than a little abdominal pain, no more clots or excessive bleeding...REALLY hoping to go home today, but still waiting on scan appt. Like sky, think the NHS have been amazing, but I feel like such a bed blocker and can't believe they don't want to get rid of me!

There was a proper screamer giving birth this morning! Shock

Catscatsandmorecats · 13/04/2016 09:23

Sky & 5hell I'm so pleased you are both on the mend today and being well looked after, great news Smile

Gosh, there is just so much to worry about, I was so naive with DS, now I know more I am not sure that knowledge is power, it just brings more concern!

That said, after my scan on Monday I am so much calmer, so odd to see it at such an early stage only 6mm long and it has a heartbeat - what??!!

Kwick Glad to hear you got to see a heartbeat too, you must be so relieved, in between medicating at least!

I have a dermatology appointment to look at a mole that stupidly decided to itch the other week. I hope they will do a little biopsy then and there so we know quickly whether we need to be concerned or not. I am going to be very clear, fortunately I know the consultant is a good one.

Mermaid36 · 13/04/2016 09:34

sky and 5hell - glad you are improving! Hope you both get home soon!

I'm already stir crazy after less than a week off work...just making the first part of a nigella cake recipe, then I'm going to load the dogs in the car, drive a mile to the beach and let them whizz around (before driving back)....I used to be able to walk it, but that's not an option at the moment!

I plan on doing some batch cooking this afternoon for dinner and putting in the freezer....

Problem is, if I sleep during the day, I don't want to go to bed until about midnight, but DH is knackered after being at work...

KateBeckett · 13/04/2016 11:01

Ow. You weren't kidding about the whooping cough jab lil !!

Glad you are both on the mend sky and 5hell xx

FuzzyOwl · 13/04/2016 11:23

Glad you both are doing better Sky and 5hell.

Hope your arm isn't too heavy and sore for long Kate.

YogaPants · 13/04/2016 12:03

Happy to hear the NHS is doing alright by you Sky and 5hell and that you are both feeling a bit better.

Mer glad that the twins are staying put for the moment. It sounds like you need to get in touch with some of the more crafty viroids to give you ideas for hobbies you can do without too much walking. I was talking to someone last night who is also 33 weeks who said how much they were looking forward to starting maternity leave and going on nice long walks. I was dumbfounded that she still found walking a pleasurable activity.

FeatheredTail · 13/04/2016 13:01

Nigella cake recipe you say Mer? What kind of cake? I fancy some cake. Can you tell?!

Shell and Sky.... You've been through the ringers. So glad you're both a little bit better and feel as though you're being looked after. Are you feeling ok emotionally?

I've had a rough morning - got to the station and started sweating buckets, heart was racing and went massively dizzy. Went outside for air and got back into ticket queue. Continued feeling awful so left queue and got water. Returned to queue. Awfulness continued so went out to get air again. Returned once more to buy ticket and lovely ticket lady told me to "get my arse home and sack it off for the day". I took her advice and am now on the sofa in a little nest. God knows what that was about - feel ok now, just wobbly. Hope I'm ok to go to work for my last day tomorrow.

In other big news: my epi-no arrived today! Going to wait until I'm 100% before trying it out....

Mermaid36 · 13/04/2016 13:36

Feathered am making Nigella's Apple & Almond cake to use up some apples we had hanging around...I did the apple puree this morning, and basically everything else gets chucked in the food processor - easy! It's from the Feast cookbook...

yoga I suspect a lot of "keeping myself occupied" is going to revolve around cooking/baking....hopefully I'll be able to fill my freezer with lovely homemade meals (or my belly with cake...)

5hell · 13/04/2016 13:52

Sounds like u did the right thing feathered ...I think even in the smoothest of pregnancies we sometimes just need a bit of extra r&r, and our bodies will let us know when.

Bloods have been taken and have scan in an hour, then only hurdles to going home will be actual scan results & finding a Dr to review & discharge me. Thankfully chubs doesn't seem too perturbed by his temporary new home (excluding the massive vomiting sesh yesterday - i think because room was tooooooo hot).

Hope you're continuing to improve sky ...I think you are truly more deserving of care, sympathy & concern!

Defo fill that freezer mer ...I didn't get around to it & so dh has had to cook everything from scratch, which he's been a star at doing, but with twins your dh might not have as much time!!!!

Catscatsandmorecats · 13/04/2016 17:27

Feathered definitely the right thing to do! I hope you got plenty of rest and can enjoy your last day tomorrow.

They removed my mole then and there, biopsy results in two weeks. Oh I so hope they come back clear, I am not sure what would have to happen if it was cancerous. In the mean time I cannot ride my dpony for two weeks! She'll get laminitis, does anyone know anyone small who would like a pony to ride in Hampshire?!

lildottie · 13/04/2016 18:52

Hope the mole is OK cats

feathered definitely the right thing to do. I ordered my epi-no this morning. When can u start doing it? Is it 36weeks? Might have to check my PMS with indigo as I'm sure ice asked her already!

5hell hope scan was OK and you've been discharged.

sky hope you're continuing to improve lovely.

mer please don't talk about cake :( lol

Car seat base arrived today :) just need to sort crib and carry cot mattresses now.
