betsy - I'm convinced I'm having a boy too. i think it's co's I'd have a girl if I could choose and I'm gearing myself up. I'm sure I won't really care either way but the not kowing is doing my head in. I've got my scan in 3 week. YAY

elkie - hope you manage to make your back up to leeds. it is truely the centre of the universe.

betsycoe · 21/06/2007 12:18

Hi Lul,
I've booked my pool with Aquabirths too. The woman I spoke to sounded lovely and I'm glad to hear you are happy with the pool.

Little - good luck with the scan. Surely women's intuition will be right for at least one of us!!

Thanks for the info on schools littleoldme - I will investigate. Would be good if I could expand the area so more chance of finding something.

Can't believe I'm having to think about schools already - DS only turned 2 in May and I only feel like I've been a mum for 5 minutes!

So far the trend is that lots of women who think they are having boys end up having girls. It's 'girl season' as my mum likes to put it.

I could have sworn I was carrying a boy - I KNEW I was carrying a boy!

In fact if I pop a boy out on the day I wouldn't be surprised. He's wearing pink though ;)

Thanks for the tip on bras lula - I'm spilling out of mine at the moment.

lulalullabye, I live on the poorer cheaper side of Haringey in Tottenham, at least it was cheaper round here when I moved to London in 1995 looking for somewhere to rent, and when I had the opportunity to buy 3 years later. Like visiting Muswell Hill and Crouch End for the charity shops - my NCT post natal course is over beyond Muswell Hill so I've been travelling through there for the last 3 weeks.

littleoldme, yes, Leeds is the centre of the universe, and I'm looking forward to 2 visits next month and more during my maternity leave. I'm determined I will return north for good by the time my 7 week old son starts school though (plan to try for another baby first, but it's insane thinking of that already).

I used to live not far from there elkie - was in Southgate when I first moved to London. Lovely area - could never have afforded to buy there so ended up buying in Woolwich.

I have to say I do love Leeds already being a relative newcomer. But I do miss some aspects of London - unlike a lot of expat northerners - I quite liked it down there.

I miss the west end theatres

Not really somewhere where I could have afforded the lifestyle I want for my children though.

Hello all ex and present Londeners and everybody else.

We were fake muswell hillers as mil gave us house in exchange for flat. Sounds better than it was. We were living in Hackney before then so Muswell Hill was like living in Belgravia.

I do miss my life in London as not quite established a group of friends up here yet. Had a lot of pals in Whetstone and around there so know it quite well.

Hope everybody,s bumps are well. I had midwife check this am and mine described as tidy, but not quite enganged yet. Although she did say that with second or others they sometimes don't engage until labour.

Hi all. I am certainly very much from the Leeds area (Kirkstall) and GAVE birth on the 7th April to Theo, DS2. Seems like ages ago but not really!

Good luck to all those waiting to push and the best advice that i can give anyone is get taking those raspberry leaf tablets or RLT's as we called them x

daisyboo · 26/06/2007 11:07

Hi Pinions...don't know if you remember me crashing your thread back then....didn't realise you were in Leeds too. Hope your LO is doing OK.
My dd was born three weeks ago. I'm looking for a nice M&B group if you know of anywhere. I'm Meanwood area.

MaeBee · 27/06/2007 09:43

sorry for butting in but just to let you know there is a Leeds site for mumsnet, and if you want to post details of any meet-ups...or indeed, any threads or info connected to leeds, please do so on the local site too!
thanks.

lulalullabye · 27/06/2007 16:01

Hello all. Just thought I would let you all know that we have put an offer in on a house on Gledhow wood rd in Roundhay, so fingers crossed we could be there in Sept, all going well.

Pinions, congrats on your ds's birth. I am due in 2 wks and really excited but keep blanking out the bit in the middle where I have to do all the work.

Hope everybody is well.

lulalullabye · 27/06/2007 16:02

p.s don't know what happened there !!

choudru · 29/06/2007 14:08

Congrats on the house lula. September will be a good time to move - before the weather gets too cold and wet.

I'm still looking for somewhere to rent. Had an unsuccessful viewing this morning and have another one this afternoon.

If I don't like the one later on, there are absolutely no others on the market right now to consider.

I accepted all this stress when we bought but thought renting would be easy!
