The post-natal ward of Jimmy's would be a good place to meet!!!

Glad you had a good break and I hope that DH of yours didn't drag you up too many mountains!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 02/06/2007 21:00

Just a word of warning re meet-ups.....it's better not to say where the meet will be on the boards, as you never know who is watching; there might just be some pg lady fetishist with tomato ketchup down his jumper listening in!

What we have done on the June thread is swap e-mail addresses (disguise this also for avoidance of phishers...ie mine is daisybump at yahoo dot co dot uk...you get the idea)

sorry, didn't mean to preach, but strange things can and do happen....

choudru · 03/06/2007 19:59

Welcome back littleoldme - glad you had a nice time. Apparently it's called 'babymooning' i.e. taking a last carefree holiday.

We did it too before DS was born. Went to North Cyprus when I was 5 months.

Get in touch at usmaa at hotmail dot co dot uk about meeting up. Am free on thursday

Daisy - thanks for the concern - it is a risky business making arrangements on the net. Didn't think about it until you mentioned it but now you say it, I don't think there is any harm in being cautious.

I can't believe you will have your baby on tuesday! Can't decide whether I am jealous or thankful I still have a few months...

lulalullabye · 04/06/2007 09:34

Hello everybody, have been lurking a while and would like to join the thread. Me, dh,and dd1 are currently living in harrogate, but will be hopefully moving to Roundhay in Sept/Oct time. We are the process of buying a house that needs a lot of work. I am due dd2 9th july and am very interested in getting to know people before we get there.
Excited about moving to leeds, originally from Burnley but been around and lived in london for six years until Dec. Look forward to hearing from you.

choudru · 04/06/2007 14:36

Hi lula - you're from BURNLEY????!!!!

Guess where my DH is from? He's very proud of the place which is why I always tease him about being a 'villager' ;)

We're there every couple of weeks to take DS to see his gran and cousins.

Roundhay is a lovely lovely place. We're just down the road in Moortown but will probably be moving further towards Roundhay in the next couple of months.

Don't know why you'd move from Harrogate though - Harrogate is GORGEOUS!

Do you know what flavour you're having?

choudru · 04/06/2007 14:38

P.S. We moved up from SE London in January. I moved down when we got married but DH was there for about 6 years too.

Spooky coincidences...

lulalullabye · 04/06/2007 19:35

Hello choudru, yes, I have to admit that I am from Burnley. Not so bad really. We were in N London near Muswell Hill. My dh is a born and bred londoner and has lost his love of it. He is now working in Leeds and loving it.
As for the Harrogate thing, you need a fair amount of dosh to live the lifestyle, and we feel we would like to live somewhere more real !!
Flavour wise, its another girl according to the scan. There will only be 15mths between them both so that will be quite nice.
Anyway, nice to speak to you.

Hi Just,
what part of Wakefield are you moving to?

I grew up in Ossett and my sister (who is due in 3 weeks) still lives there. My first house was in the new estate just inside Thornes park, so I know the area pretty well.

How far on are you?

littleoldme · 06/06/2007 08:42

Welcome to the thread lula and Justabout

Choudru - hope the house hunting is going well.

I'm 15 weeks today - hurrah - that's nearly four months.

lulalullabye · 06/06/2007 09:23

Thanks littleoldme, I was 35wks yesterday. Only 5 wks left, thank goodness. I think this will be our last and we will stop at two ! Getting tired now, especially with a 13mth old!

littleoldme · 06/06/2007 10:21

I'll bet you're getting tired. I trust your DH/DP is keeping you well supplied with chocolate and nice dinners.

lulalullabye · 06/06/2007 19:17

He is very good, but the dinners thing is nice but can't eat much after 4 o'clock ish so he doesn't have to cook much. I am tired but I think my dd keeping me active is good.

choudru · 08/06/2007 17:30

Hello ladies,

What a lovely afternoon we are having here in Leeds today

I have been a bit busy lately but came online to check if Daisy has reported back. Wonder how the c-section went?

Daisy - if you are out there - come online and tell us how it went and how your baby is!

Househunting not great - had 3 viewings booked for tomorrow but estate agent called to tell me they've all gone!

Ho hum...

Off to Bradford tonight to check out the Bollywood celebrations. Should be fun.

littleoldme · 08/06/2007 23:48

Daisy is fine. I was dying to tell you but had to check she didn't mind. She had a little girl on Tuesday. Everything went fine and they are both home now. The baby is gorgeous and the whole family are thrilled. So am I

Choudru - Hope you enjoy the Bollywood stuff. I work in Bradford - there seem to be loads going on. The househunting thing sounds like a nightmare. Hang in there. If the worst come the worst we've got a massive garden that would more than accommodate a family sized tent.

I missed three episodes of Neigbours and suddenly Stinger is dead. How can this be. Also - and I do know this was sometime ago - but where did Max go after he came back?

Lula- Hope you're hanging in there and coping with the heat.

Where are you betsycoe???

lulalullabye · 09/06/2007 09:21

Oh, I want my baby out now !!! I can imagine it's only going to get hotter from now on. We rent an old townhouse and fortunatly it's cooler inside than out.
Choudru, the Bollywood thing is so cool. We have been to Goa quite a few times now and the last visit they were filming on the beach.
Our house plans are not fantastic, the surveyor has valued it at 30K less than we offered. Big dilema but we are not stupidly gonna pay more. We will have to approach the old couple who live there and explain the situation. It doesn't help that it needs about 30K spending on it to get it up to scratch. Bit of a nightmare.
Anyway hope you all enjoy the sun today.

lulalullabye · 09/06/2007 09:22

P.S must remember to put spaces between lines, easier to read !!

daisyboo · 10/06/2007 16:44

Hi guys....been a bit busy since I got home on Friday, but thought I'd do a wee link to THIS

Home and tired and a little bit sore, but bub is doing great and feeding like a trooper...in fact she is a milk monster, an is starting to create a bit now, so I'd best go and deal with her......soe photos are on my profile!

The staff at St James were brilliant and made me feel really at ease and were great at helping to get the bf off to a flying start.

anyway i've got a small girl merrily chewing her way through my t-shirt.....so more later!

betsycoe · 10/06/2007 16:57

Hi Little,
I'm still here! How are you?

I managed to sun burn my toes yesterday at the Knaresbrough bed, so I'm feeling very sorry for myself. I put sun cream on the rest of my foot but forgot my poor toes. They look like cocktail sausages at the moment and I can't get my shoes on... Looks like I will be going to work in slippers at this rate .

Congratulations to Daisy!! I wish I was a bit closer to my due date. The 2nd of October seems to far away....

Hope all other Leeds mums to be are doing well.

betsycoe · 10/06/2007 17:00

BTW Daisy,
I've just seen your pictures.

You have a gorgeous family, congratulations again!

littleoldme · 10/06/2007 18:15

Fab photos Daisy. I'll see you all soon.

Glad you are still there betsy. I'm feeling tonnes better ta. I know what you mean about due dates. I'm not due until the end of Nov and strange things are already happenening to my internal thermostat. I'm really hot all the time; and not in good way .

Hope your feet feel better soon. What is the Knaresborough bed?

betsycoe · 11/06/2007 15:23

That should have been the bed race. It is an annual race where teams have to push a bed around the streets of Knaresborough and through the river Nidd. There is also a procession through the town where everyone decorates their beds and gets dressed up in fancy dress.

Our running club went with a Peter Pan theme so I ended up going as a pregnant pirate! It is all good fun, raises money for charity and is a good excuse for an afternoon drinking session (though I'll have to wait until next year to enjoy that particular part of the day).

choudru · 12/06/2007 11:26

Daisy - congrats!!!!!!!!! How gorgeous!

Your account of the birth sounds not too bad - very encouraging for the rest of us due to give birth at St James

How is little Emily settling into life outside the womb? Is being a second time mum any easier or does it feel like learning everything from stratch again?

Littleoldme - I missed Stinger untimely death as well. Something to do with saving little Kerry's life.

Funny how TV mums always lose their bumps like OVERNIGHT!

We missed the Bradford Bollywood thing in the end because I was too tired but went to the Leeds Mela this weekend with the inlaws and DH's neices. Was fun - very hot though. Ate loads he he.

That Knaresborough bed thing sounds like fun - will have to come along to watch next year and all meet up afterwards!

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 11:40

Hi choudru.....she's doing really well, and it is so much easier this time around. The BF has gone really well, and my boobs were only engorged for a day or two and its all settled down nicely. Emily doesn't quite get the fact that she has to do a bit of wrk before she gets some milk though and either gets really frustrated or just lies there wiht nip in gob doing nothing. We're getting there though and she is so placid and delightful. Boy can she poo though...we went through 20 nappies yesterday, she does a bit, then waits till she's changed and then does some more!

I'm totally and utterly head over heels with her though and can forgive her this minor indiscretion!

Taking her out on her first shopping trip today, to buy girly pink things...can't wait!

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 11:43

My bump will probably still be here at Christmas....i tried on a pair of old trousers from before I lost some weight,...and they didn't fit! Very demoralizing. I weighed myself too and have only lost about 6lbs since last monday...which doesn;t compute as baby and all the gubbins weighed about 12 lbs! I'm hoping its just fluid retetention from milky norks and very puffy feet and ankles. Sensible eating regime starts next week!
