MamaB80 · 28/02/2016 15:53

Ooh picklebot, some great bargains there, sadly not my size. I went mat clothes shopping yesterday, very pleased with purchases - between Topshop, Red Herring and H&M, I think I'm sorted for a bit. Also managed to get a raincoat for £10 down from £40 on the sale rack in H&M!

Four, we're hoping to do the same after this one, all going well, and get straight on with the next one. I'll be 36 when this ones born and it's our first. It was a long road getting here, almost three years of trying so we don't want to hang about. But like you stranded, with it being our first, we'll see how it goes!!

16+1

hgleslie89 · 28/02/2016 16:51

We haven't discussed having another one yet, although we both want more than one (he says 2, I think 3). This is our first and I'll be 27 when it's born, think I'd like to have the next one by the time I'm 30.

18+1

lilygirl81 · 28/02/2016 17:00

DH keeps telling me he is not going through this again, so think we will be having a break between kids to recover.

I managed to the cinema, saw Deadpool which was good, but found the seat really uncomfortable, my back was killing me by the end.

18+1

lilygirl81 · 28/02/2016 17:05

Oops, I meant 18+2!!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 28/02/2016 17:59

I'm incredibly lucky that we can afford for me to be a SAHM for the foreseeable, so no worries there. Also have no career so that's not a concern either! And given my crap MC history, I don't want to hang about, wait for the 'perfect age gap' and then it not happen - would rather chance it and have a small one! I'd like the next 2 close together anyway - apart from anything else, if we have another 4 year gap I'll have spent 8 years just getting out of the baby/toddler stage, only to go back into it! Glad to know I'm not alone in my madness Grin
mslg definitely a bump there, a lovely one too! Love your cardi as well.
DH just felt a wiggle! Finally! This baby refuses to behave and so far he's missed all the movements but he finally caught one Smile

Pickle all I can see on that link is a short denim skirt Sad

Fizzyboo · 28/02/2016 18:59

Me and DH have been together 18 years and I never even thought we'd have this one, let alone more. Now we're here though he keeps going on about having loads but I'm not so sure!
I'm 34 and he's 43, he's an only child though and I'm the middle of 3 and close with my siblings (my sister is also coming to the birth) but I guess I'll just have to see how I feel after this little one arrives!

Planning a shopping trip to ikea to fix up the flat and get a load of ingenious storage solutions for until we eventually do move. Ordered VOC free paint to paint the place and ordered a new kitchen floor! I've gone into home sort out hyperdrive!

MrsSantaClause · 28/02/2016 19:38

This will (I think) be our last, no4, although I would love another girl, so wouldn't say never if this ones a boy. Grin I think I'm still at the stage where I can remember how awful the first trimester was..

We're going to center Parcs for October half term-can't wait! Especially as we've had to cancel our summer camping trip. Although my mum and sister have offered to take the oldest dc with them on the family camping trip, so at least they'll get a summer holiday!

lilygirl81 · 28/02/2016 19:41

Fizzy I'm nesting too, just collected a carpet from freegle to do our hall, and then we can crack on with painting our lounge which has had paint samples on the walls since we bought it 15 months ago!!

Fizzyboo · 28/02/2016 19:49

Lily well, it seems like there's nothing quite like having a baby for stirring you into action to finally get those jobs done eh?! Shoulda done it years ago ha! Grin

OwlinaTree · 28/02/2016 19:58

Not sure there is a perfect age gap glenco, I wanted at least 2 years for financial reasons! I'm obviously hoping these 2 will be close due to closeness in age, but I guess it's personality that is the biggest factor in closeness.

TattieHowkerz · 28/02/2016 20:05

Think this will be our last (second). I'm 38 and have various medical conditions making pregnancy high-risk, so don't want to push my luck. We will have a big age gap (5 years), but I'm ok with that. It is nice that DD (4.5y) can be so involved and excited. We went shopping today and she picked some babygros. She loves just talking about the baby and cuddling up to my bump.

OwlinaTree · 28/02/2016 20:13

That's true, with a larger age gap they understand more and can get more involved.

PickleBot · 28/02/2016 20:32

Jw arch how annoying! Do you want to pm me your email address and I'll send them to you?

LotsofDots · 28/02/2016 20:32

owlina we have 2y5mo between our eldest and middle, it's a good gap. DD1 doesn't remember not having a sister and they are generally good company for each other. Never had any issues early on with jealousy either. They do tend to bicker at the moment, now 7 and 5, but on the whole it has been a good gap. This one will be 5 years 8 months younger, so hoping to have 2 helpers this time round!

So far we have bought nothing for this baby. Planning to get a new car seat and there are a few other things we are going to have to replace mattresses etc, but our bugaboo just needs a bit of TLC and it'll be good for another one. Am borrowing a lovely Moses basket from my cousin - so glad we didn't buy one, have borrowed one from various people each time now as they are used for such a short period of time! I was about to buy some new maternity clothes as mine had nearly all got a bit worn or gone AWOL, when a lovely friend brought me round a huge bag of stuff.

Great news on the reassuring harmony results. It must have been such a worry, glad they came back quickly for you both.

quitecrunchy · 28/02/2016 21:13

Thanks stranded, mslg, lots!

mslg definitely a bump, lovely! Quite jealous, mine's starting but still just looks chubby.

tattie your DD and her bump love sound absolutely adorable.

DH and I would like a no. 2 but haven't talked about when yet. I think I'll want maybe a year or 2 back at work before another mat leave but we'll see how it goes.

squigglepants · 28/02/2016 21:39

I have 19 months between my daughter and son, they look like twins though. The small age gap was tough but has paid off because they play really well together now. They will be 9 and 7 when this little surprise arrives and have both told me how helpful they are going to be. Hmm

Anyone else got leaky boobs yet? Fortunately not a lot but have noticed in the bath and also a little crusty bit in my bra Blush Don't remember it being this early before!!!

15 + 2

lilygirl81 · 29/02/2016 08:52

I'm feeling pretty happy with myself, for the first time since I started feeling better, all I want to eat is salad and fruit. It's all been meat and junk until now, feels good to be eating healthy, like the baby has decided she has had enough Smile

Colabottle10 · 29/02/2016 18:12

He my 16w appointment with MW today. Lasted about 15 mins. Quick blood pressure check, test of urine and then she asked how I was and I burst into tears saying I could t cope with the sickness and heartburn anymore. She got me an appointment with GP for 9am in the morning in the hope they can sort me out.

Next time I see her is at 24 weeks.

PickleBot · 29/02/2016 19:47

squiggle ME! I've got crusty nips too! I'm not surprised though as it started quite early for me last time as well. I also produced milk until ds was over 3 even though I stopped expressing when he was 10 months! I am one milky mama!
Lily looks like the baby wants vitamins not protein at the moment then!

Does anyone have any experience with mw peperations just in case you get pnd? I got it quite badly last time and it wasn't really treated very well and to cut a long story short I'm still on anti depressants now. I had to do a lit of hard work to accept that I'm a good mum fir ds and I really don't want to deteriorate again!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 29/02/2016 22:44

lily glad you're feeling better and getting some good habits, you'll have a little salad lover in there!
Cola you poor thing still struggling, at least the midwife listened and got you into GP quickly rather than just dismissing you. Good luck for the morning - hope they have some suggestions.
squiggle I'm not leaking that I've noticed but I know if I squeezed I'd have milk. I had LOADS when bf DD, it dried up after I stopped...and then I started re-lactating on my delivery suite placement last year! Blush Good thing I dropped out before I got to NICU placement, I'd have been leaking everywhere!
Pickle no experience, sorry, but they should keep a close eye on you and be available for any help you feel you need. Do you get on with your midwife? Maybe have a chat to her about it next time you see her?

Well I'm proud of myself, finally got out the trainers and dragged myself out for a plod around the neighbourhood today! First time in months. First I was knackered from blood loss during last MC, then when I fell pg this time I was so worried in the early days that the baby would fall out or something (I know I'm ridiculous!). But feeling much more confident now. Managed a (very) slow 5k and felt much better for it, will definitely try and keep it up. Famous last words!

Hello! Can I join in please? I'm 14+2 and due end of August. Sorry not to have joined in earlier. This is my first and is a lovely surprise. I'm not sure what else to say, apart from hello!

bearhuggy · 01/03/2016 12:47

well done coco good effort on the running!! Make sure you stretch properly afterwards as ligaments are much looser when preg. I've been walking the 5 miles to work 3 or so times a week and already feeling so much better for being more active.

cola how did the appointment go?

thats great you are feeling better lily...finally! hope the salad vibes continue for you.

pickle i would def speak to your midwife about it at your next appointment and discuss your concerns and wanting to be fully prepared in advance. They should support you 100% and if you are not feeling like thats the case then speak to your GP.

Finally my sleep patterns have improved and managed to get a record breaking 9 hours fri, sat AND sunday nights so feeling very much caught up on ZZZzz's!

Clara sorry for slow reply! I am booked with Jessica James for antenatal, yoga and postnatal, yoga bit of the course starts end of April - www.jessicabirthclasses.co.uk/ have you chosen where you are going? Have you signed up for the Homerton NHS stuff and tour??!

bearhuggy · 01/03/2016 12:49
