I've been up all night with a stomach ache, feels like stitches or something in my tummy and side. Any ideas? Please someone put my mind at rest

ToElleWithIt · 09/02/2016 08:37

bearhuggy I had an Uppababy vista too. Loved it for long walks from the house, super sturdy, huge basket was so handy - you could fit a decent shop in there, brilliant integrated sun hood, smooth ride. I'm tall and loved that it was higher. All the bugaboos feel so low to me. The new 2015 model has a much better fold than the one I have. Having said that, it's big and bulky and heavy (as are all travel systems to be honest) and I rarely put it in the car or folded it. It basically sat in the hall. When DS was 6 months I got a baby jogger city mini GT which we use all the time now. I would definitely at least consider it from birth. You can get a bassinet. Uppababy still in attic, but don't think it'll work with 2. DS1 would have to go in rumble seat and don't think he'll be keen plus a bit big at 2y 4m. Worried about the total weight too. Think I'll sell the uppababy and buy either a city mini double or an out'n'about nipper double. I do think I'll need a double as I think DS a week bit young for buggy board. Can use single + sling too.

Could be ligaments stretching Christine? I presume it's not acute pain. You could call your midwife if you're concerned?

Clarab0w · 09/02/2016 11:30

oh no christine, could it be the same trapped wind that kept sophia up all night the other night? my digestion's been pretty clunky this past week, loads of gas and generally quite uncomfortable - seems like i've got off easy though hearing about your pain!

love all the wee bumps coming out!

bearhuggy · 09/02/2016 11:57

Thanks so much for all the pram advice ladies!! Really helpful. We did go to John Lewis last weekend to try a few out but still came away feeling rather bamboozled, am now finding I am looking at every pram I see out and about and trying to make comparisons! I was recommended the Bugaboo Bee but it's wheels are so small and we are often in the countryside walking so didn't think too suitable for muddy paths and grass. The UPPAbaby Cruz (smaller version) was nice and very easy to use in the shop...but that was with the JL professional whipping it about the place making it look a piece of cake!! Will def check out the Baby Jogger city mini GT... Any other recommendations welcome!

Christine Sorry you have been up all night, could be indigestion or a pulled ligament?? I have continued with my Prenatal Support supplements and will do throughout pregnancy as they have everything needed, I am also taking MorDHA Prenatal with Omega 3, if nothing else it's making my skin, nails and hair amazing!

Happy pancake day to you all, who's already had some today??!

Fizzyboo · 09/02/2016 12:14

I'm on a mission to find a car seat and pram/buggy that I can fit into my Mini Cooper! DH has gone into research overdrive, I think the Quinny zap sounds like it will fit and the pebble as the seat, but we need to take the car to a retailer that will let us try them in the car!
On another note, scan in t minus 3 hours! Grin

bearhuggy · 09/02/2016 12:27

ahhh fizzy exciting about your scan !!! Let us know how it all goes.

Great idea about taking the car to a garage to try out..didn't event think about needing it to fit into a car boot, will speak to husband about all of that!

Fizzyboo · 09/02/2016 12:44

I'm just acutely aware of the teeny tiny nature of ze mini, new car isn't really an option, so it's time to get our research on!
Anxiety dreams and sweats all night thinking about the scan, can't wait to get it done!

Christinedonna · 09/02/2016 12:45

It feels like it could be a pulled something! It's more in my side now

Sophia1984 · 09/02/2016 13:00

That's exactly what mine felt like Christine Have you been able to go to the toilet or pass wind lately? Once the horrible pain had gone away from mine, I was left with the feeling I'd pulled a muscle. Doctor said if it was anything bad to do with baby it would be in lower abdomen/pelvic area as womb hasn't moved from there yet. I highly recommend peppermint tea and Rennies.

Christinedonna · 09/02/2016 13:04

I had diarrhoea yesterday so went about 4 times but not after that. I was really really full when I went to bed last night aswell so was really uncomfortable, think it was just a mixture of both. You know when you dream but you're awake, that horrible state..I was doing that all night thinking I was going into labour (I had just watched Sam fraiers baby diaries so that probably influenced it) so I think it was a stressful combination of everything. I slept until mid day after about 8:30 today so feeling better now

Christinedonna · 09/02/2016 13:06

I was having horrible acid reflux aswell which actually led to me being sick at about mid night which has only happened once before. I really wish I understood indegestion and heartburn..I really wouldn't know whether or not I had it or not

Jw35 · 09/02/2016 13:12

I'm getting the double nipper 360. I already have the single and it's brilliant. I will use a sling mostly and stick her in the buggy as and when. They lie completely flat and so easy to push one handed.

15+3 today and feeling fine! My pack came in the post today to take to docs and get tested for my sister Smile

Sophia1984 · 09/02/2016 13:12

Glad you're feeling better :-) I had the horrible bloated feeling too. Definitely sounds like indigestion to me if you had the acid reflux too. Maybe just mention it to your midwife when you see her but I think it's totally normal.

Jw35 · 09/02/2016 13:12

Oh wow..I said her! Wonder if it's a sign?? Shock

Christinedonna · 09/02/2016 13:17

Thank you, everything just seems more worrying at night to me. Very releaved today. When I have a stomach ache it really helps for the OH to rub my belly, last night he was asleep so I just kept pulling his hand over, got majorly offended when he pulled it back and laid there crying. Which is funny as it wasn't even a day ago I was saying "I'm not hormonal at all, I don't cry over silly things" spoke to soon there!
And jw I still refer to ours as "he" and "him". Have no idea what il do if it's a girl!

MrsZumbaDancer · 09/02/2016 13:39

fizzy I had a Mini Cooper when DS was born. I could fit my icandy base in the boot if it was stood up and parcel shelf removed. Pebble fit belted in the back fine. But only used it for short trips, otherwise had my dh's car.
We chose my new car when DS was 3 months old and took our pushchair to every garage to try the boot! The smallest car that fit my pushchair in was a seat Ibiza, which I what I have now.

PickleBot · 09/02/2016 13:51

We've got a bugaboo chameleon from last time which will be fine again this time, but it's big to carry folded. So comfortable to push though. We also have a city jogger mini which a friend has at the moment. It's brilliant too, but I much prefer to have them parent facing for quite a long time as you can talk to them as you walk then. We'll switch back to the city jogger when we need a smaller fold once they are older. My friend had a bugaboo bee which she got when her DS was 4 months as he grew out of the pram on her silver cross one! She found the bee much more comfortable to push as well.

With the reflux, indigestion and trapped wind DON'T SUFFER IN SILENCE! There is good medication available from your GP that is safe to take while pregnant. They can also prescribe you gaviscon in huge bottles that cost a tenner a go!

I'm doing fine now actually, just tired all the time!

Christinedonna · 09/02/2016 14:39

I hadn't actually thought about going to the doctors tbh but that's a good point, especially as I have my maternity exemption card now!
I really want to start buying a few baby bits, I don't have anyone to go shopping with so until the OH has a day off it will have to be online, although I feel like I want to see everything before I buy it! Any ideas little bits I can get that don't need the once over before buying?

MrsSantaClause · 09/02/2016 14:48

We've had our icandy in storage since ds got too big for it-can't wait to use it again, it's so smooth to push. I had a clio at first and had to take one of the wheels off to fit it in the boot. Grin

bearhuggy · 09/02/2016 14:50

jw i think it's a sign!! I have no idea what we are having...husband thought he could see a willy at our scan, sonographer was quick to point out that was the umbilical cord Grin my family think its a boy and have named it George. I don't mind either way, will be a lovely surprise. I am the eldest and my parents didn't find out my sex in advance, my mum said that after I was born it took her a good 30 mins or so to even register I was a girl with all the emotions!

glad you are feeling better christine and I can sympathise with the hormonal outbursts, last week I started crying because I didn't have any ginger in the fridge !!! complete nut job.

Chameleon looks good pickle I am going to go and check that one out again at JL, is it parent facing??

FourForYouGlenCoco · 09/02/2016 16:19

I'm sticking with my trusty Baby Jogger City Mini, I love it! Will possibly borrow my friend's silvercross with the carrycot fitted while baby is diddy, but I plan to sling as much as poss.
Had my 15-week midwife appt today, all fine and very quick but blood pressure is on the low side - 100/65. Explains why I'm a bit dizzy and wiped out, and walking upstairs keeps making my heart pound like I've run a marathon! Am prone to low-ish BP anyway, so hoping it doesn't drop any more Confused

Woo hoo I had the scan and there's only a blimmin' baby in there after all!!!
However the bad news is that she dated me as 14+3 therefore too late for the combined Down's test...
It all got a bit confusing and I got sent up to pathology and they tried to take bloods from me for the combined test. I stopped them and said I thought I was just making an appointment for after 15 weeks for the quad test, she went off and came back and said the lab thought that as I was 14+3 I was in my 15th week so ok. They took my blood and I went back to scan sept to double check and they said no bloods should be done for the quadruple test after 15weeks so now I'm in a bit of a panic, do I call pathology and tell them to scrap that one so I don't get confused results or what? Or call the MW?

Sophia1984 · 09/02/2016 19:26

Brilliant news Fizzyboo !I'm afraid I'm not sure on the blood tests, except to say it sounds like it is definitely too late for combined test.
I'd contact your midwife and see if she can sort it out :)

Belager · 09/02/2016 19:32

Wow great pram advice, thanks guys! I thought I wouldn't even have to think about that for 5 months!

Had scan today, got pushed back so I'm now 12+1 due 22/8.

Does anyone else still feel like it's not real?
