Ha ha mynameissuz that's so funny Grin

IndomitabIe · 13/01/2016 21:27

If you want to and it works financially, gem, do it. Don't worry about what you feel you 'should' do.

That does sound gross, Suz! Poor you! My various apps are warning about a change in digestion about this time. Might be worth a chat with your doc/midwife?

gemsparkle84 · 13/01/2016 21:41

Thanks indom yeh I'm starting into think I just need to relax. I'm still having my CBT, feeling generally tired and rubbish and having to take paracetamol more than I'm happy with because of the horrendous pelvic/ leg pain.
It doesn't really work financially, it will for now as I'm having full pay for a few months so I'm kind of thinking I'll cross the bridge of little/ NO pay when get to it. I was due to finish 3 weeks on Sunday so bringing it forward I suppose won't be that bad.

I'm also having digestive troubles mynameissuz 3 toilet trips today, first two times it was hard then the last time like the runs! TMI sorry ladies but thought as we're sharing!!!

MyNameIsSuz · 13/01/2016 21:45

Haha, sorry I know it's gross but I had to share! No idea what's going on. Will mention it at my next midwife appointment, two weeks tomorrow.

Me624 · 13/01/2016 22:03

Suz that is bizarre! I can't say I've experienced the same but I am definitely with you in the crazy poo club (CPC anyone, to go with our CSC?!) I've had constipation and diorrhea alternating for the last couple of weeks, I've gone from going on average every-other-day to going 3 times a day! And mine is green/black thanks to my iron tablets - grim!

Pilates tonight seems to have at least temporarily helped my SPD pain, hoping I won't wake up worse tomorrow!

Hope you are home now MrsBen. beautiful glad your scan went well. Has anyone heard from scared, didn't she have a scan too?

Missikat · 14/01/2016 00:20

MrsBen, hope you are ok and it was just a temporary problem. Thinking of you, keep us posted.

Beaut, great news bout your scan! Sounds like perfect scenario and hopefully baby can stay inside til 37 weeks.

Crispy and Mothership, as far as I was aware it's as you said for the childcare vouchers. It's going to be painful for 6 months while I'm on 50% pay but great after that when work pay for then!

DS is with a childminder 2x days per week and nursery 2x days. At the mo he's still doing four days but think when Zach comes home I'll have to pull him out of nursery (which is quite far away from our house. It's amazing and I'll be really sad to do it) and keep him two days with the childminder so I have two days just with Zach (and to keep DS1 more in his routine, plus not lose his place with her as she's fab)

I'm not sad to not be a member of the CSC or the CPC either, some things about pregnancy I'm not missing at all!

Loving all the baby pics, so cute!

ffauxlivia · 14/01/2016 04:26

Oh mrsben you've had such a tough couple of days. Hope you were able to come home and rest Thanks

So on the topic of CPC I have an embarrassing admission.........you know when you've been a bit constipated and it's time for a bit of a push to get it out? Well pushing feels so weird right now that I have this irrational fear I will push too hard and suddenly the baby will come out into the toilet Blush I mean that's almost impossible, right, with no other signs of labour??? But I can't help worry and then I just get more constipated as I'm too scared to push Blush I go eventually but still feel terrified!

Can't believe I just wrote that on a public forum ........

MyNameIsSuz · 14/01/2016 06:23

I know exactly what you mean ffaux! I'm pretty sure it can't happen Grin I think I'm more worried about a prolapse! The instructor of the antenatal fitness class I've been doing said all those muscles are softer and weaker at the moment which is why pelvic floors are harder, I think it's in the back of my mind!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 14/01/2016 07:07

As others have said, childcare vouchers must continue to be given when you are on stat pay and not taken out of stat/withdrawn. It's the law, so your employers would be breaking the law if they didn't do this. See here:

www.gov.uk/guidance/statutory-maternity-pay-employee-circumstances-that-affect-payment#non-cash-payments-and-contractual-benefits

In fact any contractual benefits must be continued to be provided which is why you accrue holiday when on leave. I've also got a rental car which I get through a work car please scheme, and pay about £230 a month for - this is counted as a benefit so when I'm on stat pay I don't need to pay for it - bonus!

DD will continue to go to nursery 3 days a week when DD2 comes - the nursery at the university is v oversubscribed and we wouldn't want to lose her place. I also selfishly know I couldn't cope with baby + toddler all week so will need the break! And I do want to keep her routine intact if possible. She'll also spend a day a week with her grandma, and then I'll have her Fridays with baby. At the moment me and DP alternate taking Fridays off but obvs when I'm on leave I'll just do it and DP can save his holiday.

Hope you're OK mrsben Flowers sounds very stressful.

As for pelvic floors - I did basically none when pregnant with DD and had no problems afterwards with incontinence or any other weakness issues
which they say usually happen first few days after birth. But I've always had a really strong bladder so maybe I'm just lucky. I basically do my pelvic floors now only when I remember which is usually at yoga once/twice a week! Hoping my laziness doesn't come back to haunt me later Confused

Another member of CPC here, my digestive system is all over the place but I've always had digestive issues anyway and pregnancy definitely aggrivates it. Sleeping has been OK recently, DD slept in till 6.20 this morning which again is amazing for her. Think the gro clock might finally be working. I kept waking in the night really needing the loo but couldn't be arsed to get out of bed so would roll over and go back to sleep, only to wake a while later needing the loo! Should have just got out of bed really and saved myself the trouble!

Me624 · 14/01/2016 07:47

I was up representing both CPC and CSC last night! So tired.

ffaux have you tried a stool softener. I'm on Movicol which is prescribed (although struggling to find the right dose, hence the bouts of diorrhea too) but there are over the counter options too. When I get it right it's brilliant as there's no fear at all, it just slips out!

My left boob went crazy last night leaking, I'm worried it's going to start happening during the day when I'm at work! Think I'd better put a few breast pads in my handbag just in case Blush

neh205 · 14/01/2016 08:10

ffaux are you eating plenty of apricots/porridge all that sort of thing to get things moving?

My sleep was better last night but still tired. I'm on the train again now!

I'm freaking out about time at the moment. When you say end of march of seems ages away but looking at it in terms of potentially 7 weeks just seems so soon!

Where has the time gone? ?

Rosieblossom123 · 14/01/2016 08:47

Still definitely part of the CSC, need to stop moaning about it as there's no point anymore! Anyone else crying for no reason what so ever? I started crying last night because my cat slept on my belly? wtf? bloody hormones :(

Hope everything's okay MrsBen Flowers

scared How did your scan go? was it okay?

Beautiful so glad you're little girl is doing well, I got an email yesterday saying that my buggy will be dispatched on 12th Feb, so excited just hope my little squishy is not early!!

Rosieblossom123 · 14/01/2016 08:52

Oh and that's my 4d scan from 6 weeks ago! Always has her hands all over her face cheeky girl!

March 2016 Babies!! New Year, New Thread - #8
maybebabybee · 14/01/2016 09:03

Loving all these 4d scans! I really want one but DP thinks they're weird :(

maybebabybee · 14/01/2016 09:04

MrsBen Flowers for you, what a tough time you're having.

Rosieblossom123 · 14/01/2016 09:13

Maybe DP really didn't want to do it I just kept begging him, he still thinks it's weird haha

TriJo · 14/01/2016 09:18

Sleeping ok here (midnight to 7am is pretty solid for me after I came very close to falling asleep in the chair watching Match Of The Day last night!) but still fecking tired. Left arm a bit stiff from whooping cough vaccine on Tuesday too.

Realised this morning I've probably lost the last of my brain-to-mouth filter for people being arseholes on public transport, two guys pretending to sleep in the priority seats on my train to work this morning, I got a seat from another man but when another pregnant lady who looked in the 24 week ish range but a bit uncomfortable got on at King's Cross and was obviously looking for one and these arseholes continued to "sleep" I called them out on it and ended it with a "get up, she needs it more than you".

marmiteandcheeseplease · 14/01/2016 09:27

My DP also thinks 4D scans are weird! I have to say I quite like not knowing what my baby looks like so wouldn't have one done anyway. I like being able to imagine what they look like, though with DD1 she didn't look anything like what I imagined. Much cuter! I was also expecting dark hair and eyes like me but she's got light brown hair and blue eyes! As far as I know the only blue eyes in my family are my mums grandfather! Everyone else in my family has brown eyes - my dads are hazel, as are mine, and my mums are dark brown. DD1 has blue eyes with a ring of yellowy brown on the inside, so in natural light her eyes look blue but in more yellow/artificial light they look more green. I'm imagining DD2 to look the same as DD but for some reason am convinced she's going to have brown/hazel eyes and dark brown hair like me. Expect I will be wrong again!

Much respect to those of you commuting on trains, no way could I cope. I'm starting to find walking a bit more of a struggle and have definitely developed a waddle recently Blush could not cope with busy trains and having to demand seats from other commuters - too stressful!

RhubarbAndMustard · 14/01/2016 09:28

High five to you TriJo. I hate it when people pretend not to notice.

Any updates today MrsBen and Scared? Let us know how you are getting on.

ffaux my top tip for constipation is to blow your nose as your trying to poo. Sounds crazy, but I'm sure it works the same muscles. Might even try it when pushing baby out. Might be something new for the midwives! I don't think you'll push baby out but you don't want to strain too much either. What we have to go through!

Also loving the 4d scans. Would love to know what this little man looks like and if he is anything like his brother. Can't wait to meet him. Only 56 more days according to app!

I'm still firmly in CSC. Transferred to spare room at midnight with DP having to help me out of bed due to the shooting pelvic pains again. I've resorted to creating a pillow wall in the spare bed that I lean over the top of. So my weight is more on my chest without actually sleeping on my front. Seems to work but need lots of space....and pillows!

maybebabybee · 14/01/2016 09:28

tri I was standing in front of four city workers in suits this morning on the tube, with massive bump and badge. All of them looked me up and down and then went back to looking at phones/papers. I'm a bit crap and not very good at speaking up (for myself, happily do it for others) but this woman said, very loudly 'Excuse me boys, do you think one of you could let this lady sit down?'

Was brilliant Grin

MrsBenWyatt · 14/01/2016 09:41

Hi all. Thank you for the kind thoughts. I got home around 10. ECG showed a fast heart rate and pulse remained around 110 (but better than the 180 before I went in ambulance). They were OK to let me home as I had no chest pain and I am being seen today anyway.

I am going back to the DAU in a few hours for the second lot of steroids and I have been given a consultant appointment for afterwards to discuss next steps. I will feel better once I have had the steroids because if anything worsens (fluid/BP/heart) and I need an earlier section at least the baby will be better protected. I am making DH come with me today as he has been working away the last two "exciting" days and I have had to cope alone until he could get back (I got blue-lighted around 4 and he didn't arrive at hospital until after 7 Sad

I will have scans every Tuesday until I deliver now (I am 32+2) and I hope to push for a date for my section today (wasn't going to be told until 8th Feb.) Going to have a nap now (been awake most of the night) to try and relax before going to the hospital.

Thank you again. Hope everyone is well, especially those who are having a tricky time of it at the moment Flowers

hayleycookie · 14/01/2016 10:26

Good on you Tri! I'm ilke Maybe in the way that I wouldn't speak up and ask for a seat, though I wish I was braver and could confront the people who pretend not to notice!

MrsBen Glad you managed to get home, and hope you get a bit of a sleep before your appointments today. Sorry things aren't going as planned for you. But, like you said, the baby will be better protected now, and you will be able to push for a section date with all this going on. Thinking of you Flowers

Crispylicious · 14/01/2016 10:39

Oh mrsben that all sounds really stressful and how awful to have to go in the ambulance on your own. I hope they are able to reassure you today. It's a really good thing they are carefully monitoring you.

ff I too worry about pushing out the baby when I poo! Am sure it's not possible but know that feeling. Oh god just remembering the post-labour poos

Well done tri! That's really ace. I've had people ask others to get up for me too maybe. They always mutter about not having seen me, I should've asked, so now do! I feel a bit shy about it sometimes but think fuck it, it's why there are priority seats, no one has said no yet and it's for the baby as well as me - I don't want to fall and squish him.

Am working from home today so no seat battles, yay!

We went to our 1st nct class last night. It was actually really good and the group seems nice. Doesn't finish til 10pm though, waaay past my bedtime these days. However I was so tired, I didn't check into CSC last night.

I too am panicking about the lack of time - I have so much to do at work and home before the baby comes, eek.

vroc81 · 14/01/2016 12:01

Yikes MrsBen sounds very stressful, and all by yourself. Hope todays injections go ok.

Well done for speaking up Tri I'm like you maybe don't think I would dare say anything for myself but would say it for someone else (or when I wasn't pregnant give up my seat while tutting at the men around me)..

Rhubarb your blowing your nose while pooing made me laugh out loud while sat in the very quiet doctors waiting room!!

Im with marmites DP I find something a little weird about the scans but this might be because I even find a foot sticking out my side a bit weird and too apparent to the alien bouncing around inside.

I had a good nights sleep last night for the first time this week, sorry to all of those in the CSC.

Just had a MW appointment to check BP and still a bit high but I think they think its not that high up for me so are just going to check it weekly.. Also had glucose in pee so got to have that checked and may be in for a third(!!!) GTT this pregnancy... I suspect it might be the fruit muesli with added fruit I had for breakfast this morning instead of porridge... but might eat a few less jaffa cakes in the next week anyway Not head downwards yet which I could have told them from the head that pops into my side occasionally.. Presume coming out feet first isn't hereditary?

My DM is coming to my 34 week scan next week because she's never seen a scan before (hence my coming out feet first many years ago!) Do they let you see much or is it in and out at this stage?

Rosieblossom123 · 14/01/2016 12:28

vroc My growth scan took 5 mins and couldn't make out anything on the screen as they're much bigger now but the person doing it helped me a little bit haha but they normally just take measurements and that's it!
