Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 43rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 42nd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

Go Pretz, gx for lucky sperm! We broke our dry spell yesterday and I feel so much happier after a good shag!
Good tips on the money saving. I've bought quite a lot of clothes already but they are mostly age 0-3 months or 2-4 months, so at least they will last a while. I would rather have more than I need and not have to wash as often. My sister gets loads of brilliant kids' clothes in charity shops so I will go for a rummage next time I'm home.

jellypi3 · 08/01/2016 21:14

I wish I could find shagging enjoyable at the moment. I find it very uncomfortable due to my hips and back, every position we have tried is painful (though we haven't been that adventurous). I might just tell dp to use the buzzy friend more.

Ive literally bought a couple of new born baby grows and vests, I figure I can get the rest later on.

Been getting BH'S combined with period pains today. Fun times!

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 08/01/2016 22:18

jelly - oooo that sounds promising!!!!

pretzel - good luck with the shopping - mothercare really is your friend for decent deals on stuff - especially with their sale on now! I should add that I don't get paid to advertise them - I'm just jealous because there's no equivalent over here!

Enjoy your shagging viroids!

lildottie · 08/01/2016 22:23

Hi all.
Not got much to add with the convo today.
Can tell you all about pineapple though. Bromaline is what causes contractions (hence why you only do to 5dpo for aiding implantation) and it is most concentrated in the core. I imagine for labour you would need a ridiculous amount but maybe combined with other eviction techniques it could have an edge! Also the reason it can't be tinned is because tinned pineapple is heat treated which "kills off"?? The bromaline.

honeysucklejasmine · 08/01/2016 23:01

Bromaline, apparently, is an enzyme. So heating it will cause it to denature, which means change shape. Enzymes and substrates (the things they work on) work by "lock and key" principle. If you change the shape of an enzyme, or lock, the key won't work and it won't have any action.

Jelly ooooh! Is Jellybean going to make an appearance?!

honeysucklejasmine · 09/01/2016 00:35

Jeeeez, I have blooming epic amounts of acid reflux tonight. Ouch!

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/01/2016 07:16

Morning all.

Jelly are you ok?

And honey I hope you got some rest.

I've had a terrible nights sleep, thanks in part to the snoring toddler in beside me, but also due to the fact that the baby isn't brutalising me as viciously as normal. How long do you give it until you call someone?

OP posts:
jellypi3 · 09/01/2016 07:39

Morning all! I'm fine, I think the period pains might have been poop pains. Did an epic poo, pains eased off. Can't decide if I'm happy or sad about this.

Sorry for the bad night thurs :( have you tried the old cold drink and laying on your side? I always err on the side of caution and call MAU if that doesn't get things going. Hope it's ok!

pretzelpieces · 09/01/2016 09:04

thurs if it's been long enough to make you worry, give the midwives a call?

jelly congrats on your poo baby, sorry it wasn't a sign of anything more exciting!

Driven crazy by not knowing what way round mini pretzel is now. Worried I've made her breech or at least in a worse position by my exercise sessions yesterday (which intended to move her FROM a back to back position) and I have no appointments next week to find out! Not supposed to see the midwife until the week after but I might have to ring up on Monday and beg for a community midwife to palpate my bump. I'm worried I've made the position worse and I'm really fixated and fed up about it Sad

jellypi3 · 09/01/2016 09:06

:( pretz that sounds stressful, have you felt her turn? i'd assume at this stage if they did turn you'd know about it, because of the lack of room in there?

honeysucklejasmine · 09/01/2016 09:11

Pretzel don't worry, they can make last minute changes to your "birth" depending on what babies doing. And hey, if it is transverse or breach, you'll get a C section. Win win!

Thanks Thursday, I did in the end. But not much! I reckon if you're worried, give a ring.

I am going to an epic sounding afternoon tea today for my friends 30th. I am going to attempt to EAT ALL THE FOOD!!!! but probably fail and bring most of it home in a doggy bag for DH to finish It involves gherkins which I am very excited about. I must make sure there is some Rennie in my handbag!

pretzelpieces · 09/01/2016 09:16

jelly well I had some discomfort/pressure yesterday, which could have been her moving. It's so frustrating not knowing what the hell is going on in there!

honey Ooh afternoon tea. I'm doing afternoon tea with friends tomorrow for baby shower, although I'll probably ruin it for myself by being a silly stress head!

lildottie · 09/01/2016 10:29

pretzel I really have no jurisdiction to say this given my own irrational panicking of late but o so think you are possibly focussing on worst case scenario. Take a deep breath and think of all the babies that the mima did those moves to get them shifted and the little bugger stayed put! Are you seeing mw before induction?

In contraband news, my Doppler is definitely not arriving with the nice dpd man by 12.28, not at all!

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/01/2016 10:32

Oft, we just went out for breakfast (literally next door, it's a fundraising thing for the local cricket club) and I am now as full as a full thing.

I'm still not totally satisfied with this babies movements, I'm going to pay close attention for a couple more hours. I suspect it's just changed position because I can feel something - just not as violently as normal. Anyways I shall ring this arvo if it still feels wonky.

And my cheeky wipes kit arrived. I'm kind of relieved that DS has done his big poo today already!

OP posts:
ThursdayLastWeek · 09/01/2016 10:35

Oh yes pretz I meant to say - I don't think there's any mistaking when they fully change position late on. A friend of mine said it happened to her between appts at approx 36/37 weeks and said she had to stop and grasp something as it totally took her breath away.

Your baby was head down at the scan the other day, is that right?

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 09/01/2016 10:38

Hi all waves and jumps up and down

Just popping in to say hello and that I am still lurking... jelly poo babies usually precede the main event and a clear colon is definitely a bonus Grin

pretz try not to worry to much. If she moves she can always move again and your midwives will be able to advise/help during your labour. I am actually a bit jealous as you will be monitored during birth and the hands off midwife approach freaks me out.

Having a burst of productivity. Took DD to tap whith a wheelie case of stuff for the charity bins that had been sat in the corner for months. She's out with her dad today so after a quick shop I am going home to tackle the remaining piles so that we have room to put her baby things which have been stored at XHs place and we can start setting up for minisky! But forst I am tewarding myself with a MaccyDs breakfast for my motivation Wink

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 09/01/2016 10:40

In other news. I really need to reactivate my predictive text Blush

pretzelpieces · 09/01/2016 10:54

lil gx doppler arrives soon. Yep I'm seeing midwife on the 20th, induction on the 28th.

thurs flipping breech to cephalic or vice versa? Or spinning front to back/vice versa? Yes, baby was head down at the scan on Thursday. I hope your movements pick up soon, it's such a worry isn't it.

sky well done for productivity! Monitoring (well, really the restrictions it puts on my birth, like having to stay on the fucking antenatal ward until I'm in active labour) is that absolute last thing I wanted. I am best left to get on with things by myself. I always take myself away to be alone and quiet when I am in bad pain. I'm feeling very grumpy about everything today, I'm grateful that really, thing are going okay, but still bitter about being railroaded by circumstances out of my control and then being given leaflets that say things like "so, you've CHOSEN induction!". No, no I haven't. I'm following the recommendations of the doctors because of the complications I've had and I don't know better than them. That's not the same as choice and I wish they'd stop pretending it was, it would help. It's what is going to happen and I'm trying to get my head around that. (Sorry for the rant! I'm not ranting at you, just at the situation I guess. I know I sound like an ungrateful cow.)

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/01/2016 11:02

Breech to ceph IIRC.

I also would just like to reassure you that being in the antenatal ward doesn't necessarily mean constant monitoring or even having people around you. I was on the antenatal ward for 24 hours and once my waters had broken, and contractions started properly (Approx 12 hrs after a pessary) I really only saw a MW when I was asking for pain relief. And they put us in a private room too which was good.

Before that I was left pretty much to myself, and after was taken upstairs to the delivery suite. (In a wheelchair because I had a fresh dose of pethidine Grin)

pretzelpieces · 09/01/2016 11:15

Thanks Thursday that does help. I'm sure I'm imagining worst case scenario as lil said, thinking I'll have an audience and I'll get overwhelmed!

pretzelpieces · 09/01/2016 11:25

Well I don't really think I'll have an audience, as I know the staff are very busy. But I just imagine it to be loud and crowded in the antenatal ward.

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/01/2016 11:28

Haha, like in films when someone wakes up from a blow to the head with 12 people standing over them looking down?? Quite terrifying! You'll deffo need drugs if that's the case Wink

OP posts:
lildottie · 09/01/2016 11:30

Leaflets are very general pretz so try not to get hubg up on the wording. They can't account for every situation. Granted saying "you're going to be induced" rather than saying you've chosen it would be better!

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/01/2016 11:32

that's the weird thing about maternity - there's no way of predicting how many people needing what kind of help there will be.

I went in first thing on a Saturday and the antenatal ward was quiet - but the time I made it to the post natal ward on the Tuesday morning the PN ward was heaving! But when I went back in a week later I was practically the only person there Confused

lildottie · 09/01/2016 12:23

My baby still has a heartbeat! Every time we found it the little git moved! It's either shy like dh or as he put it mischievous like me!
