Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Hi ladies,

Ah how exciting about the scan date blue! Hear you about the not sleeping I've been up from about that time - the fatigue has not set in for me yet either!

Runner that appointment sounds bloody awful!

Morning ladies

Happy Christmas Eve to you all!

Blue, I keep waking up in the night to go to the loo and then am still wide awake at about 5.30am, so annoying, especially when I am falling asleep on the sofa at about half nine!

Is anyone else finding they are really hot? I've woken up today feeling like I'm in Barbados Hmm

shelbTa · 24/12/2015 11:08

Omg yeah I'm really hot!

Runner05 · 24/12/2015 11:42

I hear you with the waking up and hot! Every morning I wake up feeling like I've been licking sandpaper!

Just went to next with OH and on getting half way round the shop he asked if they sell fat bird clothes Hmm

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 24/12/2015 14:23

Fat bird clothes?! Xmas Grin Man code for maternity wear!

Runner05 · 24/12/2015 17:59

Yup, and at this rate I'll be eating the bloody stuff by the end of next month (if not before) how the heck am I supposed to hide the fact I'm upduffed if I look upduffed?!

Ohhhhhh the no booze is starting to bite now!!!!

Runner05 · 24/12/2015 21:18

I know, luckily OH wasn't drinking today but I was looking longingly at the wine I can't drink. Not fair!!!

OMG I feel so bloated and uncomfortable tonight. Dread to think how I'll feel after Christmas dinner tomorrow.

At least morning sickness hasn't started yet. I have that to look forward to in just over a week. I know my sister had very bad morning sickness (although she is a drama queen so whether it really was really bad or just normal is up for debate)

Was due to get AF tomorrow so I keep checking just in case. Might use my last dating test tomorrow just to reassure myself.

I used my last dating stick today...was having a not feeling very pregnant moment Confused It has changed from 1-2 to 2-3 weeks though which is exciting!

Runner05 · 25/12/2015 06:21

Merry Christmas upduffers!!!!

Just want to do my last dating stick but the bloody thing was faulty. Just came up with the look at the instructions sign. Not impressed as that's a pretty expensive dud Hmm

Feeling a bit sniffy and tired today. Couldn't sleep much last night. Kept having weird dreams about trying to find a toilet... I often have these dreams and then when I do find a toilet there's always something wrong with them in this case when I finally found a toilet someone was shooting a porno in it!!! Shock

Merry Christmas ladies! Hope you all have lovely days.

We told my parents, sister and her family last night about the upduffness and they were all really excited.

shelbTa · 25/12/2015 18:15

Merry Christmas ladies! Told my dad today, felt great.

Miss booze!

Runner05 · 25/12/2015 18:51

Congrats on telling the olds Pink and Shelb. We decided against telling mum in the end. She's getting dottier so we decided maybe not the best plan.

Currently sat waiting for the new Xbox to update and start... It's been about 20 minutes, it feels like forever! Dss is itching to play one of his new games and I'm sat here going nope, nope, nope! Nobody plays until I've had a go!!! Muahahaha!

Morning ladies!

What fun is awaiting you today?

We're off to family for lunch and more presents but first we need to finish off all our contributions that's the morning gone

Logged into Ovia this morning and it told me that I'm now 5 weeks and the baby is a peppercorn sized tadpole with a beating hart Grin so exciting! Boobs have started aching again I swear they've grown over night and tummy has gone crampy again. It also warned me that morning sickness is around the corner oh joy and mood swings are about to start I think they started last night when I found out the Xbox account servers were down so I couldn't play on my new console sob

Morning ladies.

I'm 7+1 and have a "wee raspberry" Smile. I too was warned morning sickness was coming from 6 weeks but it's still to show. (Fx it doesn't). I do however have really painful cramps. And trapped wind, ouch. 4 more sleeps until my early scan eek.

Runner05 · 26/12/2015 08:55

Ooo exciting Bunch will you get a print of the scan or do they not do that at the early one?

Have been up decorating cakes and making trifle.... Want to go back to bed now zzzz

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 26/12/2015 09:15

Yeah I'll get three printouts apparently Smile, I'm excited and nervous.

BunchOfBobs · 26/12/2015 18:47

Evening all. Hope your Boxing Day has been relaxing.
We're at home now, just myself, DH and the dog. Nice for me as I've barley been here since Paris.

How is everyone eating? I've got a few bites into every meal today and had to stop. Can't really say why, just no longer wanted it. Really annoying as I'm quite hungry. Filling my face with Satsumas though!!

Pinklily1 · 26/12/2015 19:05

Hi all!

Bunch, I have been eating like a horse today but really struggled yesterday. I wanted to eat my Christmas dinner so badly but admitted defeat in the end!

My bloating had died down but it's now back with a vengeance, along with constipation Hmm Not impressed by that!

How is everyone else?

shelbTa · 26/12/2015 19:37

Hi ladies,

Similar re the eating, feel full quite quickly then feel sick - don't get me wrong though still able to make a dent in it! Really really craving dairy.

Just got back from DPs brothers house and dinner over there.

I couldn't eat half of what I normally do but have managed to stuff myself fairly well Wink I was really self conscious today though as DPs brothers family haven't seen me for several months and they mush think that I've put on a ton of weight. I'm filling out my one size up jeans at the moment.
A lot of people do say that for most after the first 2 months the bloat subsides for a few weeks and you don't actually start to show until much l later but I'm worried that because I was a bit fat to begin with I'm going to look pregnant earlier than average. I know that not unusual either and some people have to tell work before they intended because they start to show. Still feeling absolutely huge at the moment Hmm

How are you ladies feeling about Ovia pregnancy? I have to admit, I don't like it anywhere near as much as I liked Ovia fertility. It seems to run very slow, the articles aren't that interesting and where as with fertility I logged in every day to input symptoms which gave me a sense of purpose, I don't feel any need to enter details into Ovia pregnancy and when I do I can't find an easy way of recalling them.

Anyway, I decided to test drive four other pregnancy apps. What to expect when you're expecting, baby centre, the bump and pregnancy+ and I thought I'd let you know what I think of them in case anyone else wants to stray Wink

What to expect - I didn't really look at this one too hard. I signed up, logged in, read about two paragraphs of an article but then remembered how patronising and irritating the book was and had to delete the app before I threw my phone across the room. Hmm

Baby Centre was ok but a bit basic and not as user friendly as some of the others or as pretty. I think it was more geared towards people who use their website. I didn't bother keeping it on my phone.

The Bump was one of the better ones. I really liked the articles and q&a sections and it seems fairly easy to use. I've kept this one for now.

Pregnancy+ was by far and away the best app in my opinion. It's quite simply beautiful and very user friendly. It doesn't seem to have as many articles as the others but it does have renders of what your baby will look like now and real life scans. It also has weekly and daily articles about you and your baby etc. I'll definitely be keeping this one!

Have any of you tried any of these apps or others I haven't found? Would love to hear others opinions Grin

Hi Runner

I'm not finding Ovia pregnancy that useful either. I like it as a quick reference to how many days and weeks I am, and j like the reference to the size of baby as it grows, but that's about it.

I haven't tried any other apps yet. I'll download the pregnancy + one and give that a go.

Also, on the point about when people can notice you are pg, I think perhaps we all feel bigger than we look if that makes sense? I feel like I have the biggest belly in the world but don't think in reality other people would notice that's what I'm telling myself anyway!

shelbTa · 27/12/2015 09:04

Morning ladies!

Will give that app a go runner as agree the ovia upduffed one is rubbish, thanks for the feedback.

This is potentially going to make me sound like a *anker but - I don't have the bloating and I'm starting to get a bit worried why not? Is your bloating still from the gas etc?
