Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

I can't remember how you change it, maybe try clicking the picture?

I'm on plants as well. I'm a poppy seed. Going by the first day of last period but I think I'm ahead of average because I ovulated on cd 9 or something like that. Might mention it to my dr today and ask what impact that would have.

blue I had a day without symptoms the other day and it completely weirded me out. Don't worry they come back Wink

In other news, I have a cold Hmm

Morning ladies!

Shelb, sorry to hear you are feeling sick. Hopefully it will pass!

New, glad to hear the uti seems to be clearing up.

Hope everyone else is well.

For the Ovia app, to change the theme you click on your plant icon (or whatever you have already chosen) which is towards the top of the screen, a box comes up showing what you currently are (I'm a poppy seed), and it says 'pick a theme' at the bottom. Click that and you can change to what you want.

I'm 3+5 today according to Ovia, based on the first day of my last period. I still get confused about all of the dating stuff!

I've had a call from the midwife today and my booking appointment is arranged for the first week in January. She said that's quicker than usual but they are fairly quiet so are getting me in early.

I've had my first attempt at exercise this morning since finding out about being pg. It freaked me out a bit as I kept thinking, am I doing to much, am I too hot etc etc, so I just took it slowly. Have you tried any exercise and was it ok?

I'm off to buy some bigger clothes today. The bloating is now accompanied by the worlds smelliest farts. Nothing like TMI here....

BlueGirl1982 · 23/12/2015 10:23

Just had not wonderful news...my oh sister has just announced to his parents she's pregnant! We were going to tell them tonight, had a bottle of bubbly and a grandparents Christmas card all ready...seems a bit pointless now :-(

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 10:41

Blue it is not pointless. If anything you'll be the one stealing her thunder. I'm sure they'll be ecstatic!

Pink welcome to fat club Hmm finding my big jeans quite depressing but also can't tolerate my normal clothes.

Oh and exciting you've got your booking in appointment Pink. So hope I get mine today. Just want to get it done and started.

OP posts:
Newmrs22 · 23/12/2015 11:53

Pink good news on the booking appointment. It's good to get it so early.

Blue that sucks but they'll still be excited and think how nice it will be for the babies to have cousins so close in age!

Good luck at the doctors Runner

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 11:59

Just been having a look at the difference ovulating early makes. It looks like I'm the equivalent of 4+4 (if I had ovulated at the average time. But I guess I'll have to wait and see what they say at the dating scan when I get it.

OP posts:
Runner05 · 23/12/2015 12:12

Ok, have worked out that if I move the star of my last period to the date I started spotting before that period it makes the date I ovulated cd14 and me at 4+4... I think that what I'm going to go with Smile

OP posts:
BlueGirl1982 · 23/12/2015 12:18

I think 4+4 sounds more likely based on when you got your bfp Smile

shelbTa · 23/12/2015 13:38

Aw blue that is a bit of a pisser isn't it. I'm sure they will be over the moon with your news (maybe even more so!).

Pink I'll be doing the a reasonable walk over Xmas so that will be my first go. Are you glad you did it, did it feel good?

Runner that sounds more like it as you were a bit ahead of me.

Hi bunch are you home yet?

So are you guys including the caffeine in chocolate as your caffeine intake? What a total headfuck!

I feel pretty nauseas today and tired. Nice to feel a little symptom though as had nothing yesterday.

X

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 14:08

What caffeine in chocolate, I don't know what you're talking about and if I did I certainly wouldn't believe you Wink lol

I'm not drinking any caffeine so I think I can eat as much chocolate as I can stand Grin

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 23/12/2015 14:55

Shelb, initially I felt a bit anxious about it but once I got going I just tried to carry on as normal, but not going for it quiet as much as usual.

I've still got bloating and a sore tummy today but the nausea has died down thankfully.

I've just stocked up on lots of decaf tea Smile

BunchOfBobs · 23/12/2015 15:15

Afternoon all,
I'm sat in the business lounge and have been for the past 6 hours. Flight in 50 mins so I'm on the home stretch. I've drank a lot of hot chocolate, peppermint tea and had a 1 hour nap (been up since 3am!!) whilst my colleagues get merrier and merrier on beer and wine. Fuckers GrinI get to go home for Christmas and talk about being pregnant again though so I don't care.

I'm living in sweats at the mo because jeans and normal trousers are just too uncomfortable or don't fit. I believe most of the bloat has gone now for the majority of the day (6+5) and eagerly await the bump starting to show.

I definitely do not count chocolate as caffeine and Lord help anyone who tries to take it away from me!!

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 15:41

Bunch sounds like you're having a hell of a day but near home now Grin

I've got my booking in appointment set for 18th January. I've never been so excited about a medical appointment in my life!!!!

Cold had turned me into a snot monster. Number one question for my dr at my appointment in a few minutes is what the hell can I take for it???

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 23/12/2015 15:48

Runner it's been okay but long. I read colds are part of the fun of pregnancy. Keep your fluids up and pass back any info about how to treat them. Also got my booking in appointment finally sorted for the 20th, late because of mine and midwifes (midwives?!) clashing schedule.

Anyone taking your OHs with you? Mine wanted to come but he's away at a meeting that day. And as you so classily Winkput it earlier, I think he's okay to miss the foof history taking.

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 15:56

I shall pass along sniffle wisdom if i ever get called for my appointment Hmm

I'll ask my OH if he wants to come but it's a week day and I don't mind going alone. Plus he's done it twice before.

OP posts:
Runner05 · 23/12/2015 16:31

Well that Dr appointment was a waste of time. Went in, told her I was pregnant and she basically asked me what I was doing there Hmm
She then went on to explain that the midwife would take care of me and I shouldn't see a dr unless I have a non-pregnancy related issue.

Oh and a complete lack of wisdom on the cold front. We can take paracetamol... That's it Hmm

Well that's 10 minutes of my life I'm never getting back!

OP posts:
Runner05 · 23/12/2015 16:37

In other news, OH just told me that he doesn't know how he feels about it all at the moment because he isn't stressed at all and with both his other children he was completely freaking out by this stage... I suggested it was because he is with me and that makes a difference... He suggested it's because we did our finances last week and they look healthy Hmm that boy does not know how to score points! Confused

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 23/12/2015 16:47

That's so frustrating Runner! If that's the stance at your surgery they should make that clear in posters or something around the surgery. There was no need for her to be rude (sounds like she was!). Did she tell you anything about contacting the midwife or a booking in appointment at least?

It does baffle me how the doctors approach to pregnancy varies so much from place to place.

I've given OH the option of coming to the booking in appointment with me or not. I think he will skip it and just come to the scans to be honest.

We're considering telling my parents about upduftness either tomorrow or Christmas day. Its my birthday tomorrow and we are all having a meal, so there may be suspicions if I don't drink tomorrow and on Christmas day. It feels early to be telling anyone but I figure its ok to tell parents. What has everyone else done?

Blue - I think two baby announcements in one day would be even more exciting!

Bunch hope you get home soon ready for the festivities Xmas Smile

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 16:50

Pink I want to tell the whole world my mum but OH says no. He wants to wait until at least the 12 week scan.

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 23/12/2015 16:52

My OH originally said we had to wait until about 8 weeks to tell parents, but I've seen my mum every day since I found out and I feel like i'm lying somehow by not telling her! He has said that ultimately its up to me, but I don't want to push it. Will have a think tonight.

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 17:26

I think my OH is just worried that if anything were to go wrong my mum would be upset and with her medical condition that would be a bad thing.

OH is in the other room wrapping my Christmas presents... Apparently I'll hate them lol

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 23/12/2015 17:49

I love it - a man with confidence Xmas Grin Runner!

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 18:17

Apparently Pink this is my fault for saying that we'd get one big joint present and not bother with anything else... He didn't fully appreciate that I am entirely incapable of not spoiling everyone at Christmas so when he saw his "stocking fillers" pile he panicked lol

But it's ok as I'm really tight the rest of the year where as he spoils me rotten Wink

OP posts:
BlueGirl1982 · 24/12/2015 06:41

Well awake from 5am again...I thought early pregnancy was supposed to make me sleep more?!?! At least I'm getting a head start on today's jobs!

Cramps were back last night...more that heavy feeling that you get right before AF. Think digestive issues are causing some cramps too, as they're a bit high up for AF style cramps, anyone else getting this?

Have booked an early scan for 11th Jan when I should be 7+3, hoping it will ease my anxiety briefly, although I have done some reading (I know, I know, stop reading!) which suggests otherwise.

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
