Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Haha Pink. If too early they do a transvaginal scan, hence "dildocam". I've been informed to rock up with a full bladder though so sound like I should be able to go ala normal. I'll be ahem clean just incase Blush

BlueGirl1982 · 22/12/2015 14:34

I have my first midwife appointment for 15th Jan when I'll be 8+2 Smile

Still debating an early scan...

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 15:29

Blue I can't really complain to him about the Star Wars comment seeing as I got so excited about some new Lego Star Wars figures I saw last night that he bought me two of them to go under the tree for Christmas lol

Really exciting about the midwife appointment. Are you looking forward to it? It's like the first really real pregnancy appointment. Grin

Bunch great that you'll be home for Christmas and exciting early scan hope you really enjoy it. You'll have to tell us everything when you have it done. I don't think I like the sound of the dildo cam Confused OH has informed me that I'm not allowed an early scan anyway spoil sport.

Pink your dr's appointment sounds fairly positive. You'll have to let us know when you get your midwife appointment. So desperate to get mine!
My OH has also been informing me that he has "super sperm" but as the only way we could have possibly conceived this month is super sperm or immaculate conception, I'm going to go for super sperm Grin

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 15:57

Runner - I'm letting my OH gloat in the super sperm area, I figure they obviously did something right!

Just went to the shops to stock up on herbal tea, to cut down on the amount of caffeine in normal tea, and then have come back and googled and found that apparently there is no clear evidence that herbal teas are safe in pregnancy. such a mine field! I'm sure it wasn't like this in caveman days Grin

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 15:58

PS Bunch i'm very pleased that the dildocam isn't the go to for the 12 week scan!

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 16:07

Pink I use pg tips decafe, it tastes just the same. OH didn't believe me so I switched his tea for a couple of days. Nope didn't notice Grin

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 16:17

Decaf, good idea. Will stock up on that too. i've just bought peppermint and ginger herbal, to hopefully help with the nausea.

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 16:39

Was lamenting a lack of symptoms earlier... Now I feel like I've been punched in the stomach Hmm serves me right I suppose Confused

Off topic ramble. I was reading a thread a couple of days ago about a veggie who invited her whole family round for Christmas dinner with the intention of feeding them a 100% veggie meal of aubergine, butternut squash and a few other squishy cucumber like things. Her mother asked if she could bring a chicken as her daughter didn't want to cook meat and the daughter was livid about it.

Now, I've cooked Christmas dinner for vegetarian friends several times. It's been a right faff but I've done it because in my view, if I invite people for dinner I want them to leave thinking it was the best meal they've ever eaten.
Why is it expected that meat eaters Have to cater to vegetarians but vegetarians don't have to show the same consideration to meat eating guests?

Afternoon ladies!

Runner hear you bout the veggie situation! I too have felt totally not pregnant today. Tempted to get a test on the way home, although I've already done an ic today!

Dildocam???!

Bunch ah bet you can't wait to come home. Aw why not on the early scan? I'm pushing to get one done with oh, he's coming round to the idea.

pink I'm slowly phasing out tea, having one cup a day (NHS guidelines) and getting it down to nil soon. So hard!!!

Sorry if missed any other news, work has been so busy.

X

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 17:42

Shelb, i'm going for one cup too. Normally I have three at work, but i've phased one out over the past month or so in preparation, so will just have to cut down a bit more. We are big tea drinkers at work so switching to decaf may be obvious but I'll just pretend its a new years resolution or something!

Runner - i get the veggie thing too!

I'm really struggling with the bloating. I'm a skinny jeans girl through and through and its uncomfortable doing them up already. I really hope it goes down and I'm not going to turn into a pregnant whale Xmas Hmm

shelbTa · 22/12/2015 17:58

Pink - I said to runner earlier in this thread, I'm at the docs this week and going to sound her out about laxatives to help with, ahem, the 'backlog' - I'll let you know, might help with the bloating.

On another note, how often are you all DTD since getting upduffed?? I don't feel like oh dare touch me, so we haven't, need to rectify that!

X

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 18:07

Pink I've already gone up a dress size due to bloat and as I was already on the podgy side I'm convinced I do look like a whale already!!!

Shelb we have continued as normal on the dtd front as much as possible. Don't want OH to feel like I was just jumping him for his sperm when I wasn't (that was just an added bonus!) Wink

OH is having a play date tonight with a guitarist he's sizing up for his band so I've been relegated to the bedroom for the evening. Can't wait until we sell in the new year so that I can have a nice house with a shed for OH Grin

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 18:31

Thanks Shelb, things are generally ok on the bodily functions side Smile

We haven't DTD since I got the BFP but not too concerned given that was only yesterday! I think OH may be a bit freaked out though. He's said in the past that once I am upduffed he will be scared about him going on top in case it squishes things!

Also, my phone now recognises the word 'upduffed' and doesn't try to autocorrect it Grin

BunchOfBobs · 22/12/2015 18:35

I gave up caffeine two years ago- we're not friends unless in chocolate form. I adore peppermint tea and decaf earl grey. I've read peppermint and ginger are fine to drink but camomile etc herbals are not recommended. Rooibus I also believe is fine__ and yummy.

Shelb we've dtd only once since bfp, combination of bloat putting me off and being away, but oh my was it wow. It's completely changed, I was so much more sensitive. (Sorry tmi!!) Blush

I completely get you re: veggie Christmas. I don't see what was so wrong with it.

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 22:09

Bunch, that's interesting to hear about heightened 'sensitivities' when DTD Grin Hoping to persuade my OH tomorrow.

Newmrs22 · 22/12/2015 23:27

Hi ladies. I think I'm clearing my UTI myself with no antibiotics! I've been drinking loads of water. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Nearly got outed today by a friend who realised I wasn't drinking and screamed 'are you pregnant?' across the table at dinner Blush

I got a big pack of appointment stuff in the post today! my booking appointment is 12th Jan and scan is 21st. Yay! I've got the option of a dildocam as well as regular scan because they are doing research to see if they can predict risk of premature labour by measuring cervix length or something.

shelbTa · 23/12/2015 08:06

Hi,

That's good new, it's crazy how much water you drink isn't it, I use to drink a lot before but Jesus! What is the booking appointment?

Lots of twinges today for me, and feel a little bit barfy! Did another ic, think will keep doing them until they run out!

How is everyone?

X

Newmrs22 · 23/12/2015 08:14

Hope it's not the start of sickness Shelb

It's the first midwife appointment. Feels like it's getting more real now.

shelbTa · 23/12/2015 08:16

Me too! Nah, it's not a patch on the first week, that was worse. Ovia upduffed is putting me at 4weeks 2 days now, what are you new?

X

Runner05 · 23/12/2015 08:18

Good news New

Sorry you're feeling barfy Shelb. A booking appointment is your first appointment with the midwife when they want to know the entire history of both your family and your foof!

I'm ok, feeling fairly normal but worried that I'm not bloated, just fat. OH has worked out that my excuse for everything at the moment is "I'm pregnant"... Go to bed at 7pm - "I'm pregnant", accuse him of having my work pass when it's around my neck - "I'm pregnant"... And so on!

I have my dr's appointment today. Don't know how much use it will be but I'm going to try to get my booking appointment arranged at the same time.

How's everyone else this morning?

OP posts:
Runner05 · 23/12/2015 08:20

Shelb you're ahead of me. I'm 4 weeks exactly today Smile

OP posts:
Runner05 · 23/12/2015 08:20

Which the am are you all using on Ovia? Plants, animals, cake or fruit?

OP posts:
shelbTa · 23/12/2015 08:54

I'm using plants!

What have you gone by - your conception date or last period? You should be ahead of me shouldnt you, I must have put it in wrong!

X

BlueGirl1982 · 23/12/2015 09:16

I'm apparently growing a peppercorn now...how do you change it on ovia?

I'm 5 weeks today based on last AF...don't know how I've ended up ahead of you runner and Shelb?! Am I counting right?

Feeling fairly symptomless, which is making me a bit anxious (never happy!) Have a slightly churny tummy but I think that might be anxiety more than anything!

Told my parents and grandma last night, they are beyond excited which is lovely
