Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Hi ladies

Lana, I am 6+3 today. I'm suffering from horrible nausea and not eating a massive amount so feel weak and generally crap. The medication hasn't really had any effect today but hoping it will tomorrow.

Leslie, so exciting that you are almost at 12 weeks! Do you have your 12 week scan booked?

Runner, I hope your mum begins to feel better and that you feel well enough to go in and see her tomorrow.

I told work today as I had to tell my boss about my sick note. The doctor had just said 'vomiting' on it but I thought almost 2 weeks off for vomiting may raise eyebrows. My boss has been wonderful and told me just to see how I am when the sick note runs out and if I need more time that's fine. Such a relief.

Pinklily1 · 12/01/2016 21:09

Ps Runner what kind of music does your OH play?

sophied1983 · 12/01/2016 21:09

So bucking the trend - I've been eating mega healthily and have actually lost a couple of lbs in last week. I know you shouldn't actively try to lose weight, but I've got plenty to lose! Just cut out all the crap and had soup each day for lunch, trying to not have carbs every eve and more veg.

Luckily the dreaded morning sickness hasn't hit yet. I will be 7 weeks on Thursday.

Think healthy food, loads of veg and no caffeine has sorted my skin out which I am pleased about.

Reading your posts make me realise how lucky I have been. I am sure pregnancy will play some cruel tricks on me pretty soon!

Did first gym sesh since BFP y'day morning. Going to try and continue going three times a week until it gets too uncomfortable!

Lanadel · 12/01/2016 21:27

Bless your wee mum runner Flowers I hope you both get well soon.
What kind of music does you me OH play?
Pink sorry you're feeling so crappy, hopefully the rest from work will do you the world of good. Have you tried the pregnancy vits with ginger in them. Apparently ginger helps with the nausea. Twinning as also do a ginger and lemon herbal tea that might help fight it.
Sophie my friend also lost weight whilst she was pregnant, through healthy diet and light exercise. It helped her throughout her pregnancy as she still went on to have a 7lb odds baby.
No I am feeling kind of bad as I just had half a large bag of s&v chipsticks. Crisps are my downfall unfortunately X

Runner05 · 12/01/2016 21:55

Aww Pink glad work were understanding. Rest up and hopefully you'll star feeling better. I don't know if it will help with you but I find I can eat berries (raspberries, blueberries etc) and plain ryvita without it making me feel too bad.

Also, laying on my right hand side of I'm feeling nauseous, it's something about the gastric system (laying on left makes you release trapped wind by burping, laying on right makes you release pressure by farting) a friend with a gastric disease put me onto that one.

OH mostly plays his own stuff but it's all a bit of a mix of folk, Celtic and Americana. I actually met him at one of his gigs, always said I'd never date someone in a band!

Runner how are you feeling now? Are the antibiotics starting to help? My mum, sister and I are all prone to UTIs and they make you feel dreadful. Hospital is definitely the best place for your mum if she can't care for herself and it's good you caught it early. My Nan had a UTI while she was in hospital recently and she was convinced at one stage I was her father, really very unwell.
Pink I hope your meds are helping too. I'm 5+2 today and hoping this horrible sickness you and Runner have doesn't come crashing in over the next week.
I really need to be able to do well at my new role for the first few months so I make a good impression before I tell them. Although my bosses boss (the guy who hired me into this role) is lovely - I feel a bit like I'm letting him down by getting pregnant so quickly. I expected it to take months at 35!
Sophie and Landal I'm also trying to just keep on with healthy eating and the gym for as long as I feel OK. I have gained over a stone in the 6 months since my wedding, the plan was always to loose that again. That's probably not totally sensible now but I don't want to gain any in the 1st trimester and I could probably stand to lose a bit.

LittleBelle90 · 13/01/2016 07:33

So I had my docs appt on Monday. It was a bit of a weird one. He talked about my diet, folic acid, drinking and smoking then gave me a pack to start my maternity notes for when I see the midwife. My first appt with her is in 2 weeks but I'll only be 6 weeks then, is that too early? I live in a rural area so there isn't much of a waiting list to see her I think. I've also had to tell my boss and the vets I work with so they understand when I can't help out with some things, now I feel like I've jinxed it and worried I won't have a sticky bean.

shelbTa · 13/01/2016 08:11

Hi ladies!

How are we? Sorry haven't been posting but have been reading, the sickness is starting to kick in now but still managing to function thankfully.

Pink how are the meds? Runner have the antibiotics kicked in. Hiya bunch - yeah don't think the glow kicks in for a while, I look like shit too!

I had the first midwife appointment - waste of time, was the one before the booking in appointment apparently. But I did get to the choose the hospital I wanted so that was good.

Oh - we had an early scan last night! Was only £45. She put me earlier at 6+3, but said it could be closer to 7. Only one in there too! Was a great experience.

BunchOfBobs · 13/01/2016 08:19

Hi Shelb. Where's the photo?! So far in the only one who has posted one Wink I want to see more gorgeous blobs pizza slice in my case. Did you manage to avoid the dildocam?

BubbaNo1 · 13/01/2016 08:20

Awww glad the scan went well shel

My head is absolutely banging! And I can't take paracetamol... Arghhhh don't know how I'm gonna function at work Sad

shelbTa · 13/01/2016 08:23

Haha yeah no dildocam. Arrg I can't post it as it has my name at the top - I'll try and crop it this aft and post it.

You can take paracetamol yknow runner? Or is that for another reason?

BunchOfBobs · 13/01/2016 08:27

Haha Shelb. You know I totally forgot think about that. I bet I posted mine with my name on. Oh well too late now.

BubbaNo1 · 13/01/2016 08:33

So we can take paracetamol?!

BunchOfBobs · 13/01/2016 08:42

I've read we can't take it until second trimester.

Runner05 · 13/01/2016 08:46

Morning ladies Smile

Dr I hope that you and everyone else manages to avoid the killer morning sickness. It really is horrific, I can't wait for it to be over!

Little sounds like you had a really good dr appointment. Don't worry about the slightly early booking in appointment. They do tend to range from about 6 to 9 weeks. I think 8 weeks is just the most common.

Shelb glad the sickness isn't too bad so far. Hopefully it stays that way!
Yay! To bean photo, get it posted ASAP!
It's a bit strange that your midwife appointment wasn't the booking in one. I wish the NHS would get its act together and work out one way of doing things for all!

bubba I think there is some advice not to take paracetamol during T1 while the baby is forming.

So I think the antibiotics are working but sickness is still here with a vengeance so I assume it wasn't caused by the infection. I can't look at screens for any length of time or read without feeling sick so bored! on the bright side I've just weighted myself and I've lest 8lb since Christmas!!! Not sure that's healthy but apparently it's quite common.

Going to try to get up to see my mum this afternoon. After I've slept some more!

shelbTa · 13/01/2016 09:17

Bubba - my gp told me paracetamol was fine to take.

Pinklily1 · 13/01/2016 09:30

Morning ladies

Little, I had my booking in appointment at 5+4. The midwife said that's earlier than usual and it's more often towards 8 weeks but that when they are quiet (which they are) they just see people as soon as they can. I'm guessing they will get busy soon as isn't there usually a New Year baby boom?!

Shelb, so exciting about your scan! Did they put you earlier than you thought then? I miscalculated my dates the other day but am 6+5 based on last period, so we are pretty close.

Bunch, I have a long standing running injury which continues to bother me. My GP said that if I can't cope with the pain then I could take paracetamol in the first trimester but that if at all possible it should be avoided.

Runner, thanks for the tips. I'm pretty much living on dry crackers at the minute. I would love some fruit but can't face it. The tablets have done bog all so far but not having the pressure of trying to get myself to work has removed some of the stress. How are you feeling today?

I've lost 4lbs this week but I'm sure I will put it all back on again when baby starts to grow more!

Runner05 · 13/01/2016 09:36

pink I think rest is the best medicine at the end of the day. I though I was feeling a bit better earlier but nope, false alarm. Now feel shit again Hmm

Gonna see how I feel at linch as to whether I go to hospital to see mum. I feel seriously guilty but turning up and puking on her won't help!

Newmrs22 · 13/01/2016 09:51

Hi ladies. Sorry some of you are feeling rough!

I had my booking appointment yesterday. Was fine. Wee sample, BMI, bloods, blood pressure, plus lots of medical history stuff. I have really low blood pressure but apparently that's common at first.

Got given my notes, I still can't believe we have to carry paper notes in this day and age.

I feel exhausted and sick today. Cannot wait til the mythical 2nd trimester recovery!

Runner05 · 13/01/2016 10:32

Oh god New please let the myth of the T2 recovery be true!!!

Glad your booking in appointment went well Smile

Nevlet · 13/01/2016 11:16

Morning all! Will catch back up with last few days soon... 6+3 and pure exhaustion permanent FREEZING cold is starting to make me feel horrendous. Last couple of days the nausea has kicked right up too but think its the tired/cold of being at work ad when I get home on the sofa with fire on its much easier. Really struggling through work like this Sad

Runner05 · 13/01/2016 12:07

Sorry to hear you're suffering too Nev T1 is definitely sucky!

BunchOfBobs · 13/01/2016 12:54

Oh balls I think I may have the start of pelvic girdle pain.
When in Centre Parcs I swam quite a few lengths and also dtd whilst away (NOT in the pool I will add!!). The next day I felt like I'd been to spin class, that my undercarriage was bruised. We had a giggle thinking maybe it was DHs technique dtd or me swimming.
The last two nights my knees have been really uncomfortable in bed and getting up for a wee last night my bits/ sit bones area feels so bruised. Just felt it again walking down the stair so decided to look it up. It all points to pgp. This is mother natures revenge for not getting morning sickness I know it!!
