Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Glad we all have lovely OHs, I think we're all really luck despite the overwhelming feelings of sickness Smile

Hopefully my OHs old house will go on the market next week, then our flat a week or two later. Can't wait to get them sold so that we can view stuff Grin

DrWhy · 09/01/2016 21:30

Runner we've started viewing already, figured we might as well get a feel for the market and area Grin

Pinklily1 · 09/01/2016 21:34

I love viewing houses, I'm so nosy! We bought a new build earlier this year so will be here for a long while to come.

My OH has excelled himself by doing two loads of washing in the past day. It's the little things that count isn't it?! Plus all of the cooking and cleaning, bless him.

Runner05 · 09/01/2016 21:34

That's a good plan.

We're waiting because OH has lived in the area before and as it's fairly new all the houses are much of a muchness anyway. We are viewing vicariously on right move though. Wink

I love a bit of househuhting... Think its just the excuse to be nosey I like!

Glad today has been ok for everyone and that we have lots of lovely DPs out there! Mine has had a bit of a meltdown tonight... We have been doing major renovations on our house for 2 years and it is so close to being finished but he is obsessed with getting everything finished perfectly asap now that we have finally conceived. It's really tough as so many of the things he is stressed about I physically can't do (build the garage extension for example) and a lot of the things he is most fed up with are problems of his own making (eg utter state of existing garage which I never go in). Not really sure what I can to help without winning the lottery and paying someone to do it all haha!

shelbTa · 10/01/2016 10:01

Morning ladies, all ok?

How is sickness today?

Lot of house moving going on, we moved this year into a new build, really exciting time. And sounds like a lot of good OHs!

You guys have period type pains, right? Constantly feel like I'm going to come on.

X

Pinklily1 · 10/01/2016 10:08

Morning Shelb!

Yes, I have period like pains. They come and go but are definitely there. I figure it's growing pains. It also feels weird when I lie on my back.

My nausea is getting worse each day. I honestly don't know how I'm going to make it to work tomorrow, which is worrying me and making me a bit emotional. I've just managed to drag myself out of bed and into the sofa Confused

I know we just have to eat when we can and what we can but yesterday I didn't have a single piece of fruit or vegetables, which is very unlike me, and I think that's what is making my tummy dodgy. I'm starting to worry about putting on too much weight as well Hmm

shelbTa · 10/01/2016 10:13

Ah pink I really feel for you - specially as I know we now share common ground workplace wise! Do you have the option to work from home?

X

Runner05 · 10/01/2016 10:23

Aww Pink I feel your pain literally I'm staying in bed lead on my side for as long as possible as that the only think that stops the feelings of nausea. Guess we'll all just have to take one day at a time.

I wouldn't worry about not eating fruit or veg. Until the nausea passes just do what you can. I ended up eating a punnet of raspberries at 1am last night as I felt sick and needed to eat.

I also get the period type pains on and off. They woke me up last night but I think it's just growing pains.

The trips to the loo are getting ridicules though! I swear I must have gone 10 times last night. I think it's worse when I need a poop but I can't really do anything about that end of things.

Anyone been watching one born again? I'm watching the first season on the channel 4 app at the moment. It all looks very painful but I think the nausea is worse. At least with labour you know it's a few hours then it's all over. The nausea is the guest that just won't leave!

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 10/01/2016 10:28

I could work from home occasionally Shelb but would probably need to let me boss in on the reason first. I'm going to tell him on Wednesday I think (he's not in until then).

Runner , it's good that you've found a position to help with the nausea!

Your point about labour is so true! I think part of the problem with the nausea is knowing it could last at least another 6 weeks for me, that's soul destroying. I love One Born. I think there must be a new season starting soon as it hasn't been on for a while, so I'll be watching it religiously.

shelbTa · 10/01/2016 10:32

Morning runner!

I am dreading getting nausea as bad as you guys, hugs, I hope it doesn't last too much longer.

I'm being so so lazy which isn't like me - currently on the couch but the sun is shining and I really should go outdoors but I just can't be arsed! Nutella in one hand, remote in the other!

I miss craving chocolate, gone right off it Sad

OP posts:
DrWhy · 10/01/2016 10:40

Runner in the same with chocolate - it tastes all sweet and cloying and oily, so upsetting!
Cross with myself now as I've gained a lot of weight in the last 6 months, I didn't expect I was going to succeed in TTC so quickly so now I want to loose weight but am not sure how much I'm allowed to diet. I'm hoping that having gone off things like chocolate will mean I will loose a little naturally alongside going to the gym.
I'm a bit scared that you guys who are 2 weeks ahead of me are feeling so awful though Confused

Runner05 · 10/01/2016 11:21

Dr see how you feel in a couple of weeks. If you get little or no morning sickness then healthy eating is your best rout instead of dieting.
If you get morning sickness you really won't care what you're eating as long as the thought/look/smell of it doesn't send you running for the loo. Sad but true. I'd gladly eat anything that would stop me feeling sick for more than a few minutes Hmm

Hello ladies. Would just like to place mark. Got my bfp this morning but not with fmu. Have a clearblue digi to do first thing tomorrow then if still postive will try make an appointment at the docs. I need confirmation asap because I will need to avoid some tasks at work.

shelbTa · 10/01/2016 17:35

Hi little! Welcome!

Yeah see how you feel dr, I know what you mean about weight gain worries though.

I've got the first midwife tomorrow night after work, eeekkk!

How you feeling pink and runner? I'm just waiting for some food to cook, feeling sick, but eating is solving it so can't complain too much.

shelbTa · 10/01/2016 17:35

*first midwife appointment.

Newmrs22 · 10/01/2016 17:45

Ooh Shelb that's exciting. let us know how first midwife appointment goes. Mine is on Tuesday!

Pinklily1 · 10/01/2016 17:47

Welcome Little! How are you feeling? Have you told your OH?

So good you've got your first appointment tomorrow Shelb. Are you going alone or with OH? I'm waiting for my scan date to come though the post and am excited every day for the post arriving - sad I know!

I'm going to start sounding like a broken record but I still feel awful. I think the not knowing when the nausea will end is messing with my mind. At least with a sickness bug you know it will pass in a few days.

I've been reading that the doctor can prescribe anti-sickness/ nausea medicine which is safe in pregnancy but don't know at what point it's classed as so bad you need that. I've still not been sick but physically feel like I can't move from the sofa.

LittleBelle90 · 10/01/2016 18:13

Good luck for tomorrow shelb, exciting.

I keep thinking my period is going to turn up pink been have some cramps on and off all day and very thirsty and need to pee a lot. It's starting to sink in and getting nervous but I hope that passes!

LittleBelle90 · 10/01/2016 18:18

I have told DH pink, I did the test and couldn't work out if the line was real or not so I showed him.

Runner05 · 10/01/2016 18:24

Welcome to grads Little! I recommend you spend the next couple of weeks enjoying being upduffed before the fun symptoms kick in!

Shelb exciting about the midwife appointment. I bet you can't wait. Mine is a week Monday. I'm just so eager to get on with it now!

Pink you are my morning sickness twin. I've barely been out of bed this weekend. So tired and every time I move I feel sick. I was talking to OH about anti-sickness drugs today but we both agree that my dr will just tell me to get a grip because there's no danger to me if I'm not being sick and I am able to eat even though the though of food makes me feel unbelievably queezy. I'm going to try to wait and speak to the midwife about it in my booking in appointment and see what she says.

Watched a few more OBEM today. Lots of women freaking out and asking for an epi, I really hope I can manage on just gas and air. I've got quite a high pain threshold but I think I'm probably going to have a bit of a panic attack when things get really painful... Ironically this will probably freak others out more than me Hmm
Anyone else really self conscious about pooping during labour? Blush apparently it's quite common Confused

OP posts:
Runner05 · 10/01/2016 18:26

Little period pains, thirst and pee-a-thons are completely normal at the start. The period pains do mostly ease up but come back sporadically... The other two are here to stay Confused

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 10/01/2016 18:53

Runner, that's my thinking exactly about the anti-sickness medication. As I'm not being physically sick I think they probably wouldn't prescribe them, but at this stage it might have to be that or time off work.

I want to have a water birth if possible so no epidural. The idea of an epidural freaks me out a bit. Oh, and I think pooping is common! Apparently if you poo in the birthing pool they scoop it out with a little sieve like thing Shock

Little , the period like pains are common, I still have them on and off (I'm 6+2).

LittleBelle90 · 10/01/2016 19:20

Thank you ladies. I'm glad I found this forum otherwise I would be freaking out!

I've always been concerned out the pooping during labour. Most people say they dispose of it before you even notice though.
