Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Leslie I've very much just been in that situation. It's hideous I know. Do you have any cramping and any chance you're around the date you would have AF about now?

BubbaNo1 · 05/01/2016 16:33

Thanks ladies!

pinklily feel fine at the moment, just a bit gassy and really tired! Still getting slight cramps too.

This was ttc2

Good luck to tomorrow leslie and excited for you pink

hgleslie89 · 05/01/2016 16:56

Bunch I had some cramping, but that's normal for me as I have IBS. I'm 10+1 and had pretty regular cycles so probably nothing to do with AF. We dtd before spotting came on, so fingers crossed that caused it.

Had my booking appointment this afternoon and apparently I'm a low risk pregnancy, so all good Smile

BunchOfBobs · 05/01/2016 17:19

I'm sure it will be related to dtd Leslie. PMA and make sure you ask for a photo tomorrow as I didn't get one today.
**

Bubba have you already got a LO then? How old are they?

Pinklily1 · 05/01/2016 17:52

.Leslie, I didn't see your post about spotting when I posted before, sorry I wasn't ignoring it. Hopefully the spotting is DTD related and the scan tomorrow goes well. ThanksCake

BubbaNo1 · 05/01/2016 18:15

No this will be my first bunch (whole new world)... My previous post was supposed to say cycle 2

BunchOfBobs · 05/01/2016 19:07

Ahh excellent Bubba . Another speedy bfp. I was technically cycle 2 too but we weren't actively dtd to try to get kicked up/ DH wimped out! So it was rather relaxed TTC and we only dtd once in the fertile window. Result!!**

Has it sunk in yet? How has your OH taken it?

BubbaNo1 · 05/01/2016 19:34

It hasn't sunk in.. I keep think AF is gonna arrive as I still keep getting cramps.

OH is shocked but happy. Haven't told anyone else yet though.

shelbTa · 05/01/2016 19:39

Best of luck tomorrow Leslie, let us know.

Bubba yeah it takes a while to sink in! A good app to download is Pregnancy+. Exciting!

X

Morwenna1 · 05/01/2016 21:24

Congrats Bubba! Yes, gas in all it's forms is perfectly normal. Welcome to the emotional rollercoaster that is being upduffed!

Really pleased everything turned out ok for you Bunch Smile Such a nerve wracking time. I'm 8 weeks today and counting down the days till Saturday for my early scan...just want to know if everything is alright in there! Thanks for posting the stats up, it is reassuring to know those. Fingers crossed for Saturday!

Hope everything is ok Leslie I've heard dtd can bring on spotting, so try not to worry (easier said than done I know).

I plan on telling work not straight away after the 12 week scan, but a few weeks after that maybe? I'll see how I feel about things! The law states you don't need to tell them until 15 weeks before your due date, but I'd definitely be showing by then!

Had no nausea today! Hmm...! Here's hoping it stays away.

BunchOfBobs · 05/01/2016 21:37

Just having a think about my scan and realised I posted the complete wrong measurements today. No wonder you thought it was tiny Pink. I meant 1.7cm not mm oops!

Thinking of you tomorrow Leslie and fx for Saturday Mor.

BubbaNo1 · 05/01/2016 22:37

Thanks Mor and thanks Shel for pregnancy app much better than Ovia

Pinklily1 · 05/01/2016 22:48

That would make more sense Bunch!! Still small thoughSmile

shelbTa · 06/01/2016 08:09

Morning ladies,

Thinking of you today Leslie.

Uhhh I'm having a wobble girls, about work. I haven't been there that long (10 months) and the news is not going to go down well - at all. It kept me awake last night. I know I'm protected by rights etc but still. Are any of you in the same boat?

X

Pinklily1 · 06/01/2016 08:27

Morning all

Shelb, why don't you think it will go down well, because you've not been there long? Do you think they are going to be difficult?

I've been at my place quite a while but we have one really moody team member who is slightly senior to me (though not my boss) and I think she will be a bit arsey as I'm going to end up going on mat leave in August and she is very particular about when she has holidays and how many people can be off at one time.

Try not to stress too much Thanks

Ive got my booking appointment this afternoon. I've got a few questions to ask like scan scheduling, levels of exercise, options in terms of screenings, and the delights of smear tests (I'm due one soon but not sure if you have them whilst upduffed). Can you think of any other obvious questions which I have missed?

Runner05 · 06/01/2016 11:06

Morning ladies, how are you?

Really struggling to work at the moment. Between feeling ill, needing the loo and being excited I'm just a mess.

Also, is anyone else a bit jealous of obviously pregnant women? I seem to be surrounded by women in the second and third trimester and I'm finding that I'm really jealous that they can be open about it and talk about it and people understand when they're feeling crap. I'm probably going to hate being that big but really looking forward to being able to just say "yep, I'm pregnant, that is obviously why I'm spending my life in the loo".

Shelb I hope telling work doesn't go down as badly as you fear. Is it a small company?

Pink just don't worry about the miserable cow. You're not going on holiday, you're going on maternity so she's just going to have to suck it up! Smile

BubbaNo1 · 06/01/2016 12:27

I know what you mean shel I moved to a new department last May so will be a little awkward, but been in the company almost two years, so I don't feel that bad lol

BunchOfBobs · 06/01/2016 13:03

Leslie how did it go? Thinking of you.

My spotting has got worse but in fine with it now, unless it's bright red and I have cramps I'll not worry.

Morwenna1 · 06/01/2016 13:03

I would try not to worry about it Shelb although you've been there 10 months, you still have rights like everyone else. Employers have a way to go in getting up to date; many women start families and they should accommodate this fact of life!

I second Runner with respect to your colleague Pink - she can do one! Just remember that you can't please everyone in this world, and the most important thing is to focus on yourself and your little blueberry/strawberry/weird but cute animal (according to Ovia). It's easier said than done, but in my opinion, we've got enough on our plates without stressing over work/mardy colleagues.

So looking forward to being able to tell people Runner. The weeks are going so slowly now I know exactly how far gone I am!

Had my first 'early morning' pee this morning (tmi, lol!) I have been lucky in that my bladder hasn't been getting me up in the night, but it woke me up this morning!

BunchOfBobs · 06/01/2016 13:10

Mor you're so lucky to have gotten away with it so long!! Runner and I have been at it weeks. My magic hour seems to be 2.30-3am but sometimes get a midnight wake up too. Problem is getting back to sleep after ugh!

Runner05 · 06/01/2016 14:13

Last night I had to run to the loo 3 times. I'm starting to think I should just move my bed into the bathroom Hmm

I'm suffering from the excess weeing too Confused

Lealie, how are you doing?

Just had my booking in appointment. I have to wait to hear from the hospital for a date for the 12 week scan, but have my 16 week midwife appointment already booked in. Midwife confirmed estimated due date as 2 September but said will be confirmed at scan.

For those who haven't had their booking in appointments yet, she asked lots of questions including:

Do you want bloods tested for chlaymidia, HIV etc? Do you want them tested as part of downs screening?

Family medical history limited to parents and grandparents and also OH's medical history

Living situation i.e if you love with your partner

Whether you do drugs/ smoke etc

Whether you are participating in any medical trials (random!)

Personal medical history, particularly any past instances of depression, whether you've had chicken pox, measles or various other conditions in childhood

Your thoughts on breastfeeding

What hospital you want to give birth in

Whether you want the whooping cough vaccine. I didn't have to decide on that there and then as you don't have it until after 28 weeks.

The one question that made me chuckle - was the pregnancy planned! I wanted to direct her to our TTC threads as confirmation Grin.

She also took a urine and blood sample.

Last thing, she said all pregnant women should have the flu jab. I'm going to have a read up on that before I decide what to do.

hgleslie89 · 06/01/2016 16:45

Scan was amazing! We saw a heartbeat and it was squirming around. On the size she put me at 10+4, but apparently that can change at the 12 week scan.

They were quite blasé about the spotting, apparently it just happens sometimes and no one knows why.

Runner05 · 06/01/2016 16:55

Leslie that's excellent news Grin

Pink thanks for the what to expect, very interesting Smile

Am now home from work and have taken myself off to bed as the morning sickness has definitely kicked up a notch. Still haven't been sick but it's getting more and more likelySad

Amazing news Leslie. Did you get a photo? What were you dating yourself at? I was dating myself at 7+5 on my first scan but they told me 7+2 and on yesterday's scan my dates were 8+4 but scan said 8+2. So it's already changing.
