Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Mor yep, that's how it starts.

I can't cook until we get the new house and we go twice a week so can't do takeaway... Pretty sure that would make me feel sick too anyway.

Pink it was chicken with cream but it smelt funny and I'm really picky at the moment anyway.

Bunch rest up. must be so stressful but try not to worry.

Runner hope you survive food tonight!

Thank god work is over. I felt really nauseous before lunch and tired all afternoon. Eating little and often is definitely the way forward for me.

I know what you mean about the postcode lottery! It is unfair, but I think my area is trying to prove it will be cost effective so they can roll it out nationwide. You only get it if initial screening says high risk, but if it's really high risk I think they still recommend amniocentesis rather than the wait for harmony to come back

hgleslie89 · 04/01/2016 21:36

Bunch I had spotting at 8 weeks and again this weekend (10 weeks today). I'm the last person to tell you not to worry, but when I spoke to NHS 24 and the out of hours midwife at my EPU I was told it's "not normal, but common". Chances of a miscarriage after 8-10 weeks drop to about 5%.

shelbTa · 05/01/2016 07:43

Good luck today bunch, lets us know how you get on when you get chance.

X

Pinklily1 · 05/01/2016 08:14

Thanks for this morning Bunch. Hope you are doing ok.

Runner05 · 05/01/2016 08:36

Good luck today Bunch Thanks

Thanks everyone.
Everything is fine. I have a 1.7mm baby with a heartbeat. They think cervical erosion as no signs of bleeding in uterus. Didn't get a photo but that's fine, I saw the heartbeat and the change in the last week is amazing!!

Pinklily1 · 05/01/2016 09:42

That's anomaly rely brilliant Bunch, so pleased all is well.

1.7mm is so tiny. It's hard to believe something so little can wreck such havoc with our bodies!

Runner05 · 05/01/2016 09:57

Wonderful news Bunch Grin

Ladies, I am so sick Confused Not psychically sick but very queasy and feel there's a risk of sickness. Took me three attempts to leave the house this morning.

How are you all getting through work? I've let one colleague in on my secret but I fear I might have to tell my boss before 12 weeks which I didn't want to do.

Might invest in some travel sickness bands if they help Runner?

Runner05 · 05/01/2016 12:36

They certainly help me, I put them on the moment I get up. I don't think I'd be able to cope without them. As it is I still feel queezy and burp stomach acid Sad

So tired today. Had really vivid dreams all night and don't feel like I've rested at all. I just want to go to bed but instead I've got to take mum to see the kidney consultant.

Hi,

Aww pink you suffering? Well so far, and not wanting to sound like a smug twat, my nausea is not too bad. It was on its way this morning but seems to have subsided, please god stay that way for a while!. Mainly just tired and really vivid dreams like you say runner.

Pink why you thinking of telling your boss early, the sickness? I don't think I'm going to tell mine until as far after 12 weeks as poss I think.

I feel like my tummy is definitely getting a bit harder now though.

I had to tell my new assignment manager today after I nearly threw up on her... I thought she deserved an explanation for me running out the room in the middle of training Confused

Hi ladies...

So it's time I ventured over to the grad side.

Got my first BFP yesterday evening, confirmed it with FR this morning. So just a prediction digi to do now.

I'm so scared, dreading sickness, telling work etc. Only symptoms so far is a lot of burping is that normal? Confused

shelbTa · 05/01/2016 14:00

Really runner that bad? How many weeks are you again?

Yey Bubba welcome!!!

X

shelbTa · 05/01/2016 14:01

Oh and yeah bubba I was burping like mad, still am!

BunchOfBobs · 05/01/2016 14:12

Congrats Bubba. Welcome to thenother side. The madness hasn't gone, now we just drive ourselves potty thinking we're not normal by having symptoms for not having them. The crazy train is still running.

Runner05 · 05/01/2016 14:13

Yay! Welcome Bubba!

Yes, burping, farting and feeling like a blimp because you're so bloated is completely normal... Enjoy Grin

Shelb I'm 6+3 but apparently my sister had really bad morning sickness too.

So excited that it's only 1 1/2 weeks until my booking in appointment.

Pink how you feeling now?

OP posts:
Runner05 · 05/01/2016 14:25

Just read an article that said the risk of miscarriage after 6 weeks averages about 5%. Has anyone else seen anything like that? I do worry about it a bit. Confused

hgleslie89 · 05/01/2016 14:32

Runner apparently most miscarriages happen before you even know you're pregnant. Odds drop waaaay down after doctors can detect a heartbeat. It sounds awful, but if you miscarry at this point there's nothing they can do and the baby wasn't meant to be. That's how I'm trying to deal with the crippling fear.

BunchOfBobs · 05/01/2016 15:01

This is what I received from my early scan. My odds are now 98% of going to term. It really does help with the crazy worrying.

TCC#1 Grads Thread
hgleslie89 · 05/01/2016 15:16

Got an early scan tomorrow due to spotting. I'm terrified they won't find a heartbeat or that it turns out I'm not really pregnant. It's really exciting but nerve wracking at the same time.

Runner05 · 05/01/2016 16:03

Good luck for tomorrow Leslie I'm sure it will all be fine Thanks

Thanks for that Bunch so assuming that there is a heartbeat I'm currently around mid 80s percentage wise.

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 05/01/2016 16:26

Woo hoo, welcome Bubba!! How are you feeling? Was this your first cycle of TTC?

I am feeling slightly better now. This morning was hideous.

Shelb I am only considering telling my boss earlier if the sickness gets really bad, but I am going to hold out for as long as possible.

Those figures make interesting reading Bunch.

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow afternoon - I'm excited and nervous all at once!
