Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Morning ladies,

Aww bunch still struggling sleeping? And you too runner? Touch wood I haven't had this bladder thing....makes me wonder whether I'm less further ahead than I thought.

First day back today, going to be first real test with 'symptoms'. Got major trapped wind and can feel the nausea coming on, luckily got seat on train. Going to get a milkshake.

Good luck today everyone!

X

BunchOfBobs · 04/01/2016 08:34

Chocolate I hope Shelb Wink
I hope you're first day back goes well and your symptoms don't cause too much of a bother.

I usually don't find my night time toilet trips too much of a bother but since I had two days without them my tiredness suddenly massively reduced. So now I'm in mourning for a full nights sleep again. I can't exactly reduce fluid intake as I need to stay hydrated.

Sorry Runner hopefully now I'm back to nightly wees you're will slightly reduce again.

New that's amazing that you get the tests for free. Two weeks is a long wait though and risks cutting into time to do anything by doesn't it? Depending on how long your combined test takes to come back that is. The place I got my early scan does harmony with a 5 day turn around but obviously I then have to pay for it.

Fx none of us need the extra tests.

sophied1983 · 04/01/2016 09:02

Had a horrible night. Think it's because I was seeing doc this morn. Dreams that they couldn't find a baby... yuck! Turns out they don't even test you though. EDD 2nd Sept and she has referred me to hospital who will be in touch about 12 weeks scans. I didn't even know that you could self refer and didn't need to see doc - blatant first timer!

Runner05 · 04/01/2016 09:09

Sophie did you see a dr or a midwife? If you saw a dr then you need to book a booking in appointment with the midwife usually around 8 weeks...

OP posts:
sophied1983 · 04/01/2016 09:24

Just my doctor. She filled out a form and said the next thing I'd get is an appointment for 12 week scan. She said the NHS trust in Southwark had totally changed their antenatal processes. Maybe I should call just to be sure.

Runner05 · 04/01/2016 09:32

I think you should check with your local midwife practice as I've never heard of any area where you don't have to sign on with a midwife before 12 weeks Confused

BunchOfBobs · 04/01/2016 09:56

Well I've joined the brown spotting club. It's easy enough saying it normal but bloody terrifying when in the position yourself. What did you ladies do?

BunchOfBobs · 04/01/2016 10:12

Just spoke to my midwife unit as they told me to call with any concerns. I'm booked in for a scan tomorrow morning at 9am. I'm bricking it. She gave me the chat about what to do if I get any pain or severe blood loss. Why did it have to be today when DH is back at work. I don't think he'll even Be able to come to the scan with me.

Runner05 · 04/01/2016 11:08

I'm sure it will be fine Bunch. They probably booked you in for a scan more as a way of reassuring you and preventing you from becoming too anxious. Thanks

shelbTa · 04/01/2016 11:20

Ah bunch really, virtual hugs.

Did you DTD recently? Ie to potentially cause spotting?

Try not to worry, easy for me to say I know.

BunchOfBobs · 04/01/2016 12:47

Thanks Shelb and Runner. No not for a week. I'm just having a shitty couple of days it would seem. I'm supposed to be filing my taxes but instead I've been balling my eyes out scared for tomorrow (still spotting, had to wear a liner) and just had to take the dog to the vets for itchy ears that are now bleeding. I now have to take him in to be sedated on Wednesday as he may have burst his ear drum. I've never seen him in so much pain as when being examined so I've been crying for me and now crying for him as I had to pin him whilst he squirmed and cried. Sucky week.

shelbTa · 04/01/2016 13:05

Aww bunch that's well shit. Sorry you're having to go through both of those things.

No doubt you've googled the spotting, how many weeks are you?

Take it easy, lie on the sofa if you can. Is oh around?

X

BunchOfBobs · 04/01/2016 13:14

DH back at work today, typical. I'm 8 weeks ish (8+3 on my date, 8 weeks according to early scan last week). I feel like crap just from the emotional hell I've been through in the last few hours. I may resort to Ben and Kerry's and chick flicks. I cannot be doing with my accounts- well, I've paid my NI and filed my cat rerun all needed doing before mid month. The accounts due the 31st can go do one for a few days.

shelbTa · 04/01/2016 13:18

Have you got any cramps with it?

Hang tight, fuck your Accounts for now.

X

BunchOfBobs · 04/01/2016 13:24

No but since she mentioned that on the phone in now obviously over analysing every twinge. I know I shouldn't be worrying and I know it's normal particularly as I would be due AF about now but my mind is in over drive, and she had the MC chat with me which I just can't get out of my head.

shelbTa · 04/01/2016 13:29

Just hang tight. I think if anything really bad was happening you'd be in noticeable pain / cramps, from what I've read anyway. Must be really stressful though - get some nice food and lie on the sofa.

Runner05 · 04/01/2016 13:40

Exactly what Shelb said. Curl up, eat crap and chill for a bit Thanks

OP posts:
Morwenna1 · 04/01/2016 15:07

Hope it all goes well for you tomorrow Bunch - I'm sure it will. Everything I've read says brown spotting is normal...especially near normal AF time. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

New that is good you get Harmony for free! Wow. Just goes to show how different an experience women can have depending on their local trust.

I just tried ringing to see if I can organise my 12 week scan myself. Got told that wasn't possible and there's no guarantee that it will happen in week 12. (12 - 14) The midwife has to refer me apparently. My booking in is 11+1 so I was hoping to get it sorted earlier rather than later.

Runner05 · 04/01/2016 16:33

How's everyone's morning sickness today? I'm starting to get a sore throat from all the times stomach acid makes it that far when I burp Sad tmi.

Still I made it through work without too many problems spent most of the day in the loo

And now I'm really worried about going to fil for dinner. Bless him, he feeds us and the step kids a couple of times a week but his food can be a bit hit and miss tried to feed us a haggis covered in curry source once so I'm worried he's either going to feed us something that I'm just going to have to turn down or some bloody meat once served steak practically raw that I can't eat and as we're not planning to tell him yet I don't know what I'll do Confused

Hi ladies

ThanksCakeBrew for you Bunch. How we you doing now? Hopefully your OH is home/ will be home shortly to offer lots of cuddles and support.

New, it's good that your local trust offer the Harmony test for free. I really do think all trusts should offer the same things but it is a bit of a post over lottery sometimes.

We will have the combined test and then take it from there I think.

Runner, I'm still sick Confused Basically nauseous in the morning and then whenever I am starting to get hungry, so lots of little snacks for me.

I discovered this morning that I have outgrown one of my bras Hmm I may need to underwear shop sooner than I thought.

BunchOfBobs · 04/01/2016 17:46

Hi ladies.
Thanks for the messages. Ive been spotting on and off through out the day so I've been feeling sorry for myself and The dog all day. Lots of cuddles from him and I've been laid down on the sofa. DH due home any minute and has the morning off work for tomorrow thankfully. I'm super tired again today- not a suprise after back to night time toilet trips.

Runner that sounds hideous- is it time to hit the gaviscon to help?

Runner05 · 04/01/2016 18:05

Aww Pink sounds like we have very similar problems.

So, fil made a slightly dodgy looking stew. I made the excuse of a dodgy tummy. Oh played along by asking how long I'd had it. Unfortunately I didn't know he was playing along so I looked at him like like he was an idiot and told him a couple of days. Lol.

OP posts:
Morwenna1 · 04/01/2016 18:07

Runner - Can you offer to cook?! Or just suggest a takeaway when you get there lol?! Good luck!

Erm, well I'm not sure if I spoke too soon when it comes to sickness....I'm suffering with random uncomfortable nauseous feelings in my stomach. In between food. Is this how it starts?! hoping and praying this doesn't escalate!

Pinklily1 · 04/01/2016 18:35

Bunch, is your scan first thing in the morning? At least you don't have to wait until the afternoon.

Mor, that sounds like what I have! I am finding that eating little bit often is helping. Thought I was going to pass out on the train this morning but thankfully managed to find a seat a few stops in to the journey.

Runner, what was in the stew?!!

At least we all survived the first day back at work!
