Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Yeah it's really nice. I'm still treating myself to the odd normal brew but it's only couple of times a week.

Tried on some maternity bras today - hideous!!

Pinklily1 · 02/01/2016 19:13

Oh no Shelb, what was wrong with them? Where did you try them?

I'm going to stick to wired ones I think, just going up in size as necessary.

My OH very happily concluded today that m boobs have grown. He had a grin the size of a Cheshire Cat so I'd say that side effect has been well received!

BunchOfBobs · 02/01/2016 19:31

My boobs officially no longer fit in my normal bras. Boobs have grown so much the cup doesn't even cover my humongous nips anymore! They're not even Demi's or balcony bras!

Runner05 · 02/01/2016 21:46

Lol Bunch

Well I'm terribly disappointed that my boobs are resolutely remaining the same size at the moment.

Are any of you using pressure point wrist bands to combat morning sickness? I just came over with my second bout but remembered reading that they work so I got mine out and they seem to have worked Grin

Just granny bras pink! Went to debenhams.

No runner never heard of them.

Jesus - I've been eating salami and pastrami today :-( I thought it was actually ok to eat in England. Are you guys still eating cold meats and stuff? It's the toxoplasmosis risk isn't it. It's a minefield!

Do you mean like travel sickness bands Runner? I had heard that they work.

I've had a bit of nausea but nothing too bad so haven't tried any remedies get, other than ginger and lemon tea (which is a task in itself as I hate ginger but know it's meant to help with queasiness).

Runner05 · 02/01/2016 22:47

Yes, the travel sickness ones. Awesome! I may not take them off for the next 9 months Grin

I can't stand ginger or lemon... And I don't like funny teas so I'm a bit buggered Confused

I'm sure it will be fine Shelb I think that's fairly common. Just keep an eye on it but I'm sure it will have stopped by tomorrow. BrewCake

Thanks runner

Newmrs22 · 03/01/2016 08:10

Shelb I've read that's fairly common, I think it's usually to do with changes to the cervix. If it continues and you are worried you could see if your local hospital has an early pregnancy unit

BunchOfBobs · 03/01/2016 08:17

Shelb I've also read it's normal. Keep an eye on it though but don't be worrying yourself.

I'm surviving off peppermint tea and constant grazing as I feel especially shite when I haven't eaten. I usually quite like ginger tea but at the mo it's not doing anything for me and I don't like the idea of it.

Pinklily1 · 03/01/2016 09:27

Morning ladies

Shelb, how are you? Has the bleeding gone?

Without wanting to ask a question too far, is everyone else DTD as frequently as when TTC? We've only DTD once since my BFP, so in the last two weeks, partly because I am tired all the time, but I'm also not massively fancying sex. Has anyone else had this? Im sure I'll get over it but don't want OH to feel like a sperm donor!

How is everyone else today?

shelbTa · 03/01/2016 09:33

Thanks everyone, it's stopped today, was awful to see though.

How is everyone? I feel super sick today.

Pink - we haven't been doing it as much at all, exactly for those reasons. I know oh wants to and he's just thinking of me, but I want to get it back to how it was to make me feel normal again and not just a pregnant lady if you know what I mean!

Runner05 · 03/01/2016 09:35

Morning.

Shelb how are you?

I am now completely dependant on my pressure bracelets. I took them off for a shower and nearly threw up. Now eating toast to settle my stomach.

Was sat around with OH last night and out of the blue he said "I just can't believe your pregnant" I had to laugh because at the moment i view myself more like a science experiment. I know the stage we're at and the biology but it's almost 3rd person. I'm sure it'll feel more "Real" once I see a scan and start getting a bump.

How's everyone else this morning?

hgleslie89 · 03/01/2016 10:19

Runner I've got some of those bands and they seem to be working miracles Smile

Shelb I'm in the same situation. Dtd on Friday evening for the first time since my bfp (nearly 6 weeks ago). Had some spotting yesterday which started pink then turned red. Managed to scare myself witless and phoned the NHS. Seems to have calmed down overnight, but I'm going to check in with my local EPU when they re-open.

Re. cured meats - I read it's fine to have them if they've been frozen for 4 days beforehand as that kills the toxoplasmosis bacteria. So probably best not to eat salami etc while out, but you could have it at home?

Pinklily1 · 03/01/2016 10:33

*Shelb, i've not been eating cold meats but don't panic. For me its more because I don't fancy them. Have been it with full blown nausea this morning. Just in time for returning to work tomorrow Hmm

I think if you heat the cold meats up so they are piping hot, thats meant to be fine.

Leslie, hope you are ok.

sophied1983 · 03/01/2016 10:39

Probably TMI here... but I've actually been more interested in the naughty business since finding out. In a weird way, I think knowing my body can create a life has made me feel different as I always had it in my head that I wouldn't be able to conceive.

That probably makes me sound mad!

sophied1983 · 03/01/2016 10:44

The NHS info on foods to avoid is comprehensive. Plus it tells you what you can have if prepared in a certain way, like freezing cured meats...

www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/foods-to-avoid-pregnant.aspx

PG Tips decaf I can hardly tell the difference to the real stuff!

Pinklily1 · 03/01/2016 10:46

Not at all Sophie, I think we probably all react differently. I think OH may be a bit scared about DTD hurting baby, he knows that won't actually happen but I think it's still in his mind too.

Didn't mean for my earlier post to be almost entirely in bold!

shelbTa · 03/01/2016 10:54

Pink what does your nausea feel like - like a hangover style sickness? I'm dreading the actual throwing up to start, really hope it doesn't.

Runner05 · 03/01/2016 11:24

Shelb for me the sickness feels like sea sickness. Not the nicest thing but the pressure bands keep it mostly under control. Smile

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 03/01/2016 11:26

Mine is like travel sickness but sometimes hungover feeling too. Not enough to make me feel I may be sick but hideous regardless. I hate how I feel dizzy/woozy which in turn makes me feel sick. Having a hideous spell of it right now and lying down makes it feel worse.

I was tempted by the sea bands but don't know if I've got true morning sickness yet and therefore won't feel the be wide when I do iyswim.

Pinklily1 · 03/01/2016 11:48

Mine sounds similar to Bunch, basically just waves of nausea, and I just came over all dizzy in the shower. I don't feel like I am actually going to be sick, so I hope it stays that way.

It's also impacting on food and drink too today - the thought of milk in a cup of tea makes me gag (and just after I've found the nice decaf!), yet milk on cereal is fine (although to be fair I only use that to make the creak go soggy, I don't actually drink itGrin)

I had been hoping I'd get to 6 weeks before it kicked in, but then a weird part of me is also quite thankful for a symptom if you see what I mean!

Pinklily1 · 03/01/2016 11:49

*cereal go soggy
