Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

I was just reading something along similar lines Bunch, basically said that as long as your bra fits properly it doesn't matter if it's wired or non-wired in pregnancy. I'll be sticking with the wired ones for support!

Shelb, how far along are you now? Hopefully the sore boobs will die down. Mine are still not sore but they have definitely grown a bit.

Runner, beans, yum yum Smile I'm already farting for England so adding beans into the mix and therefore increasing the farting to world record scales will go down a treat with my OH Grin

Has anyone thought how they will tell work yet? My boss is lovely but a man and I find it all a bit embarrassing!

Pinklily1 · 01/01/2016 22:21

Sorry, meant New, not Bunch. My brain isn't in gear tonight!

Runner05 · 01/01/2016 22:48

Pink I already unofficially told my boss. Just said that I wanted a word, she took us off to a meeting room stones faced she thought it was going to be bad news when I told her she jumped out of her chair and cheered. Nice reaction but something a little more sedate would have done Wink

I'd just drag your boss into a meeting and tell him that you've wanted a family for a while and just found out you're pregnant. Even the most hardened of managers should pretend to be happy for you and who cares what they really think [santa]

Hi all, may I join? I'm 9+4, but only just found this thread. Due date is 1st August, got my booking appointment on Tuesday.

Runner05 · 01/01/2016 23:33

Hi Leslie of course you can. The more the merrier Smile

Age: 32
Stage: 4 weeks + 2 (although think doc will put me a week ahead of that)
Symptoms: really sore boobs and a rotten cold (immune system decided to look after baby)

Apparently it's a poppy seed at the moment :)

sophied1983 · 02/01/2016 08:41

Oh and due date by my calculations is 8th Sept although think doc may say 1st.

shelbTa · 02/01/2016 09:31

Welcome new joiners!

Pink - I think I'm 5+5 today. Woken up feeling very sick.

Welcome Sophie

How is everyone today?

I'm on week 6 today and baby is now the size of a blueberry (or a ladybird or a grain of rice depending on which app I go by) I'm having one of those spells where I don't really feel pregnant which is a but disconcerting but I'm sure some symptoms will show up and kick me in the head soon.

Finally finished packing anything we won't need for the next couple of months and need to shift it today. OH was making fun of me for being in such a rush until I pointed out that I'll be heavily pregnant when we move so if i pack everything I can now and put it into storage before I become next to useless then there will be considerably less for him to deal with later... He now thinks I'm a genius Grin

Morning ladies, and welcome to Sophie and Leslie. Will this be first baby for each of you?

I'm 5+1 today.

Feeling a bit crappy. Started getting a headache last night, had a bad nights sleep again and have woken up with the headache still there and a sore throat to boot, so i'm feeling sorry for myself. I'm off food and tea but I think that may be more the cold than anything else.

Runner, I'm not worried about how he will react so much. I know it sounds daft given I am a grown woman but it feels a bit odd as by saying i'm pregnant, I may as well say "so OH and I had lot and lots of sex, we didn't use protection and now i'm upduffed". Not that I would use those words of course Grin

Runner05 · 02/01/2016 10:17

Pink it would be so funny if you did use those words. I'd love to see his face!

Don't worry about it. Just remember, nearly every woman gets pregnant at some point. It's expected and actually considered a bit odd if you don't. I'm sure he'll just say congratulations, as a couple of questions like "when's it due" etc. and that will be it I'm sure the fact that you must have had sex won't even cross his mind Grin

hgleslie89 · 02/01/2016 10:33

Thanks all. Yep, very first pregnancy! Morning sickness has been manageable this week, although I've heard that week 10 is when it really gets bad so I'm pleased I'm off next week as well!

Pinklily1 · 02/01/2016 10:44

Good point Runner! He has a team full of women so it had to happen at some stage!

Leslie, when did your morning sickness kick in?

shelbTa · 02/01/2016 10:48

I'm terrified of telling my boss. She is very scary and I haven't been then for a significant amount of time, and very stuffy culture. Feel even more sick thinking about it!

If you've got a nice boss pink which it sounds like you do try not to worry, he'll probably be more awkward than you as he's a bloke!

hgleslie89 · 02/01/2016 10:56

Morning sickness started at 5+5, but really kicked in around the week 7 mark. Still feeling nauseous all day, but I can eat pretty much normally now.

shelbTa · 02/01/2016 11:02

Hi Leslie, I'm 5+5 today and I think it's kicked in! Like a hangover type sickness. Good times.

X

hgleslie89 · 02/01/2016 11:35

Yep, I've been describing it to the hubby as a constant hangover. Can't wait for the 2nd trimester!

Pinklily1 · 02/01/2016 11:50

Shelb, you never know your boss might surprise you and be nice? Does she have children?

I get public transport to work which can get crowded and hot, so I'm hoping I don't get nausea on my way to and from work.

All I want to eat today is cheese and beans. I blame Runner entirely for putting the thought in my head (although I love cheese and beans so have no complaints!) Grin

shelbTa · 02/01/2016 11:55

HAha, beans do sound good. All I want is meat! Going to treat myself to a steak tonight!

Pink - with you on the public transport, I get the rush hour train too and it's so packed. Actually weirdly the day I think conception happened I nearly passed out on the train and had to ask someone to give me their seat. Have you seen those baby on board badges you can get? I'm not sure if I'd use one but it lets people know the score when you aren't showing but still feeling rough.

X

Pinklily1 · 02/01/2016 12:05

I have seen them Shelb, I know people wear them on the tube. I'm in the north east though and we don't have them up here (not entirely sure I would use one anyway, although they are quite a good idea).

I would hope that when we both start showing people will be kind enough to give up their seats on public transport without us having to ask, but I'm not totally convinced about that. When one of my friends was 7 months pregnant with twins, someone refused to give up the seat (which she had pre booked but he had sat in regardless) for her!

Runner05 · 02/01/2016 12:26

Pink if I was your friend I would have made a right scene and got my phone out to video him refusing to move. May have also burst into tears for good measure lol

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 02/01/2016 13:08

I think she complained to a member of staff and the man was promptly removed from the seat!

Runner05 · 02/01/2016 14:13

Quite right too Smile

shelbTa · 02/01/2016 15:43

Ah a fellow northerner pink! Smile just bought some Yorkshire tea decaf, very good.

X

Pinklily1 · 02/01/2016 16:46

The Yorkshire decaf is surprisingly ok isn't it? I'm quite happy drinking that now in place of tea for the duration of pregnancy at least
