Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

What time is your scan bunch?

X

Runner05 · 29/12/2015 12:40

I shall keep my fingers crossed for a singleton for you Bunch but will have a quiet giggle if it's twins Wink

What was I saying about jinxing things? Morning sickness has entered the building HmmSad

Morwenna1 · 29/12/2015 12:54

Oh no Runner! here's hoping it doesn't hang around...

Bunch It will be interesting to see if you've got two heartbeats in there! I'm so impatient for the 9th Jan. That's when my scan is Smile Just want to know what's going on in there. Hope it goes well for you Smile

BunchOfBobs · 29/12/2015 13:09

Oh no Runner. I hope it fades fast. Have you puked?

Scan is at 10am. It's an hours drive so I'm trying to decide should I have a full ish bladder getting in the car or should I aim to fill it on the drive?!

I bet you can't wait Mor. How far along should you be when you have it?

shelbTa · 29/12/2015 13:24

Oh no runner! Is it a marked new level of barfy?

Fill it on the he journey bunch - they could be running late etc then you would have a situation on you hands!

X

Runner05 · 29/12/2015 13:31

Wasn't sick but had to let it to the bathroom as I thought I was going to be.

I'm hoping it was a one off caused by all the lifting and carrying I've been doing today to empty the hall cupboard. apartment looks like s bomb site!! Hmm

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 29/12/2015 13:56

Yikes Bunch, that's a lot of twin possibility!! Fingers crossed for just one, but they could always come out of the sunroof if there are two to save your lady bits Shock (no idea if they push you for a vaginal birth with twins or not, always assumed it would be a section but no idea really!).

I would also say fill your bladder on the drive, only because I know how frequently I need the loo at the minute.

Runner, sickness is not good. Try and have a relax his afternoon with some tea and cake or something CakeBrew I bet moving all the stuff around has used a lot of energy. I'm finding I am more tired even just going up and down the stairs.

Mor, will you be the next thread scan then?

Runner05 · 29/12/2015 14:03

Pink yeh, I think that's the problem. The hall cupboard is massive and full of things like camping stuff which is really heavy.

I think I need to adjust my expectations of what I can do at the moment. Clearing out the whole flat in a week was obviously a bit ambitious. but I've always been able to deal really well with manual labour and it didn't occur to me that I'd struggle now. Sad

Oh well, hall cupboard is done now, I just need to box up the last few odds and ends then I think I'll call it a day and tackle the bedroom tomorrow.

Pinklily1 · 29/12/2015 16:13

That sounds like heavy stuff Runner. Its weird how quickly it has an impact on what you can do isn't it?

Random maternity jeans update in case it proves useful for anyone - I took the Topshop Leigh jeans back as I just didn't think they would stay up, the crotch seemed a lot shorter than in the non-maternity version. Anyway, I swapped them for the Joni style and they are amazing. Obviously I don't have a bump yet so can't tell exactly what they will be like later down the line, but they are very soft, easy to get on and come up a little higher, so i think they will be better.

Shelb - does the line stay all through pregnancy then?

Runner05 · 29/12/2015 16:31

Thanks for the maternity clothes update Pink I'm completely clueless so it's good to hear what's good and what's uncomfortable.
Think I might do dresses and leggings as much as possible. It's not what I would usually wear but I think it will probably be the most comfortable for my shape. Smile

Newmrs22 · 29/12/2015 16:32

Thanks for the jeans update! V useful. I popped into top shop today and bought a summer maternity dress (for a fiver!!!) and a summery vest top for £7 Grin

Oh no runner hope you are feeling better. I've been feeling sick today. Was walking round sainsburys, got to the meat counter and suddenly thought oh god I'm going to puke! I didn't though!

Runner05 · 29/12/2015 16:57

I know exactly what you mean New I went into morrisons a few minutes ago and barely got out with my lunch Confused fil is just off to get us a Chinese... Not sure this is a good idea!

OP posts:
Morwenna1 · 29/12/2015 17:32

Good luck with the Chinese Runner! ;)

Hi Pink - congratulations on making it to the grad thread btw! I might be the next scan...it will be when I'm 8+4 Smile

Haven't given any thoughts to maternity clothes just yet, but I might have to soon if this bloat doesn't disappear! Has anyone else noticed they generally feel better on days when they are moving around, i.e. not sedentary?! Having said that, I just did some hoovering and it's wiped me out. Energy levels are so low atm!

Hope today went ok Bunch

Morwenna1 · 29/12/2015 17:33

Wish me luck, we are going to have a (home cooked) curry tonight. Er...I have a feeling I'll be regretting this!

Morwenna1 · 29/12/2015 17:34

Just picking up on previous comments, one thing I do find useful in the Ovia app is the Food safety check on the right hand menu. I do pause before I stuff food in my mouth now!

Pinklily1 · 29/12/2015 17:59

Ooh, I hadn't noticed that Mor, that might be useful.

We went out for lunch today and I did struggle to think what I should and shouldn't eat!

BunchOfBobs · 29/12/2015 22:23

Evening all, hope you've all had a nice day. I had a mostly good day, feeling good until late afternoon/early evening when dizziness set in. Trapped wind back just as I was brushing my teeth. Fun! In hoping for a pain free night but we shall see.

I'm really nervous for tomorrow now. What's the bet I have some super crazy dreams?!

shelbTa · 30/12/2015 07:06

Good luck today bunch!

X

BunchOfBobs · 30/12/2015 07:31

Thanks Shelb. As predicted I had some awful dreams Sad

shelbTa · 30/12/2015 07:56

Oh no. It must be really nerve wracking - hang tight, it will soon be time and I'm sure you will feel great during and afterwards.

X

Runner05 · 30/12/2015 08:05

Oh no Bunch I'm sure everything will be fine and in a few hours you'll have your first photo of baby Smile

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 30/12/2015 08:56

Good luck today Bunch, let us know how it goes.

I've woken up this morning feeling sick sick sick Confused Just queasy so fingers crossed there is no actual sickness. I'm also having the most vivid dreams, it's so odd.

How is everyone else doing?

Runner05 · 30/12/2015 10:35

Feeling very lazy. Have shedloads to do but I'm not out of bed yet. Bed girl lol Wink

BunchOfBobs · 30/12/2015 10:53

Well I'm measuring at 7+2 so only 3 days different to my estimations from LMP. Got to see and hear a heartbeat, balled my eyes out once I got outside. I feel so weird now, I knew I was pregnant but now I KNOW I'm pregnant!!! And it's only one huzzah!!!

Pinklily1 · 30/12/2015 11:25

Woo hoo Bunch, that's amazing!! Were you three days more or less than you thought?

What do they do during the scan?
