Hi ladies, I'm sorry I've not been on for ages.. I actually hadnt noticed the new thread! Blush

I went for an early scan on Weds and it's really made me doubt my pregnancy... Apparently I have a small area of bleeding which isn't a concern, but they could only see sack/yolk and no baby. They weren't concerned but dated me at 6 weeks when I thought I was about 8. I was fairly certain with my dates and it would mean I got a strong BFP (digit said 1-2 weeks since conception) within days after conceiving!
I've continued to bleed, and symptoms seem to be going.

I've basically convinced myself that baby stopped growing at 6 weeks as it doesn't seem possible Confused

Rescan on the 29th so I'll know for sure then.

Loki17 · 19/12/2015 16:26

Sorry to hear that, Miss. Fingers crossed for good news on the 29th though Flowers

redstrawberries101 · 19/12/2015 16:32

Aw sorry to hear that miss Clarke. They did tell me it's quite common to pick up a heartbeat later, at around 8-9 weeks and the midwife also told me that the measurements can be really quite inaccurate. Don't lose all hope yet but at the same time try and prepare yourself. It can be such a mystery at times. Wishing you all the best!

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 19/12/2015 17:56

So sorry to hear your news MissClarke. I do hope all turns out for the best for you.

Thanks all for your reassurances about my lack of symptoms worry. Had a evil migraine all day today and it's only just about easing to the point where it hurts but at least tolerably so, so obviously I'm using that to sit at the computer which isn't going to help Hmm. Also nausea is back but not in the same way, more like sudden surges where I feel like I'm about to be sick straight away then eventually easing rather than a constant sense of low level sickness where I don't actually want to be sick. Sorry for all the sick talk! Seems that my body may have just been giving me a few days respite before coming back with a vengeance! Most peculiar twinging going on today. Not pain, just feels uncomfortable like things are shifting and expanding. Suppose that's a good sign.

Mel I think you are right with symptoms coming and going being unreliable and there being no point worrying. Until I finally get that scan which feels like it'll never come I just won't know either way whether things are going well in there or not.

gnat hope you managed to get some downtime and feel a bit better.

Cheery1 · 19/12/2015 18:32

Ah missclarke sorry to hear your situation. Really hope all turns out ok for you x

Cookiesandcoffee · 19/12/2015 20:55

missclark I'm really sorry to hear about your worries, I really hope there's some good news on the 29th. Will be keeping everything crossed for you.

Lovely news cheery and culture great scan Cheery.

Whilst DH is out on a drunken work do I am eating my feelings and binge watching on Netflix.

Scase1firsttimemum · 19/12/2015 22:37

So I may be further on than I think I am because I have quite a bump showing, unless Im just fat and bloated quite a lot. Hmm is anyone else showing yet ? I just need my scan so I can be dated!!

OP posts:
redstrawberries101 · 19/12/2015 22:48

My stomach feels hard and sticking out! Silly question but since my op I have quite a pot belly under my scar. It must be the way the fat is distributed now. Will the layer of fat just stretch? My bump will still be solid right?

mascaraisamust · 20/12/2015 07:39

My mum made me buy some maternity jeans yesterday implying the jogging bottoms weren't going to cut it over xmas! I was like 'it's too early' and she clearly said it wasn't. Her reasoning was im going to need them soon anyway! I think it was a polite way of her telling me I look a mess. So those with little bumps/mega bloat - feel your pain!

Missclark - hope all goes ok for you. Waiting is so hard.

Those with little symptoms try not to worry, I clearly saw my wriggly bean thursday and I have zero symptoms compared to a week ago!

Bluebell20 · 20/12/2015 07:42

Woodsy, sorry about the bloods - hope they get that sorted; I would be livid.

Culture and Cheery, congratulations on the scans!

MissClarke, really hoping everything goes okay for you.

My due date buddy, Sonia, hasn't been around for a while... Hope you're okay, Sonia!

Well, school is out now - bet you are feeling great, Loki! I know I am, even though I'm only part time! I'm chuffed to pieces as well as I've just been offered a part-time job from the other side of my career for three months at the start of 2016, which is going to top up the coffers beautifully before maternity leave.

Scan tomorrow. Very excited. So is DH, but I feel bad for him as he started to discuss last week whether or not we would find out the gender... We decided that we would, but I didn't realise that he was thinking we could find out at the 12-week scan! Whoops! Disabused him of that notion last night, and he was rather disappointed!

Bluebell20 · 20/12/2015 07:47

Oops I lied, 12 + 1. Thought it was Monday!

Loki17 · 20/12/2015 08:02

Mel- before my last pregnancy I was a size 12 on the bottom, 10 on the top but with a un-toned tummy that had a layer of wobble. My bump never got that big due to dd being back to back and tucked up inside, but it was a round, hard bump. Afterwards another story!

That's really good news you, Bluebell! I've been so sick recently I'm just so relieved to be on a break!

Loki17 · 20/12/2015 08:04

In other news, dd just accidentally grazed my bra less boob and I'm in agony!

wantingno2 · 20/12/2015 08:56

I can completely sympathise with the boob pain loki my son elbowed me in my boob yesterday really want to cry they hurt so much it's 2 weeks till my son's birthday and 2 weeks 4 days till my 12 week scan I will be just over 12 weeks when it's done everything seems to be speeding up a little now it was dragging at first still haven't phoned my community midwife I really must remember to do that tomorrow x

Kaytee1987 · 20/12/2015 10:21

Miss - you must be so worried Flowers fingers crossed for good news on the 29th.

Scase my tummy is really bloated but I'm sure it is bloating rather than anything else. My jeans are all uncomfortable now.

Someone else asked me if I was pregnant last night - twice - I ended up snapping at her then having to apologise later.
One of DH friends asked him if I was pregnant too, I've not even seen him in months! I don't understand it only 2 close friends knew we were trying and they definitely wouldn't have told anyone. I suppose because it's 4 months since we got married people will just assume.

Vikkijayne2507 · 20/12/2015 11:27

What time is your scan bluebell mien is also tomorrow at 11.10, im getting rather worried my boobs feel less swollen and a lot more squidgey, im still full of cold but a lot less tired than I was, im kinda thinking the worse i dunno why but i guess ill find out tomorrow. I live in Portugal and my friend who is 22 weeks was actually told at 12 week scan that they were 80 per cent sure it was a girl, so crazy it was confirmed at 20 week scan, so strange

minieggaddict · 20/12/2015 11:59

So sorry MissClarke, hope it's better news after your next scan.x

Insufficiently - my ms started as general nausea but i get the odd day now when I just get the urge and have to run to the nearest loo. Not been too bad since Tues so hoping it's easing up now. I also started getting uncomfortable pains at about week 9. Seems mostly toilet related (sorry tmi).

I have a bit of a flabby bump, especially in the evenings. As it's my second I've been expecting to show early. Not in maternity wear yet and dh thought I just looked fat (thanks) but I weigh less than before bfp yet tummy looks bigger. Altho bump is much flatter in the mornings. Cant wait for a proper bump which didn't happen til.about 20 weeks last time.

Nervous as hell for scan tomorrow but also excited which I then have to stop and remind myself to be sensible. And I keep stopping myself from looking forward to Xmas til after. Scan isn't til 5pm. Gonna be a crappy day of waiting. Had a dream tho last night that the scanner could easily see it was a boy!

Bluebell20 · 20/12/2015 12:09

I would be really cross about people asking, Kaytee. I was out on my work do on Friday night and I was convinced people were going to guess why I wasn't drinking. Especially as my boobs looked absolutely enormous in the dress I was wearing - I didn't realise until I looked in a mirror in the loo, by which point it was too late - and I am normally rather small of chest. Thankfully they bought my, 'I have a thousand things to do tomorrow, and I CANNOT end up with a hangover like last year' excuse.

Well, if they didn't buy it, they were too polite to say, anyway.

Vikki and Minnie, my scan is at 2.30pm tomorrow. Fingers crossed for all of us. I know what both of you mean; I keep running through worst case scenarios and imagining myself in tears on Christmas Day! Argh!

Kaytee1987 · 20/12/2015 13:06

Bluebell it is really annoying, makes me not want to tell anyone.
Scan on Tuesday and I've convinced myself I'm having twins Confused

Cookiesandcoffee · 20/12/2015 18:56

vikki and bluebell and mini good luck for your scans tomorrow Smile
I gave in and bought maternity jeans as I thought I will need them anyway and all mine are too small, so ladies I would just embrace. Figured I had more 'eating room' over Xmas as well Wink
wanting and loki the boob pain is the worst! Little people keep elbowing/chinning mine. Oucheee.

Is anyone else ( who is finding out) ridiculously impatient already to know whether they're team pink or blue?! I think DH is buying me a gender scan for Xmas as I've moaned i don't want anything as I'm too fat and ugly for everything Hmm

mascaraisamust · 20/12/2015 19:35

Haha cookie, same mindset. Worryingly the maternity jeans are quite snug Hmm

Loki17 · 20/12/2015 19:43

I think I'll be desperate to know the sex once the first scan is out of the way. I'm so terrified. All I want is to know bubs is healthy at the minute. Then I will obsess over pink or blue!

CultureSucksDownWords · 20/12/2015 19:49

I'm not really bothered what sex the baby is, I don't think it'll make any difference to how we prepare, other than for choosing a name. If the sonographer can tell at the 20 weeks scan then I'll ask them to tell me, but I don't think I'm going to ask them to try and find out specifically.

wantingno2 · 20/12/2015 20:04

I'm booking a private gender scan for the second of February when I will be 16 weeks I'm to impatient I would love a girl but will be happy either way still can't believe I'm going to have 2 children under 3 I must be crazy haha I took my son to a children's party all was well until the man turned up to take the bouncy castle away he had the biggest tantrum ever was so embarrassing good luck everyone who has a scan tomorrow hope all goes well xx

Jem01 · 20/12/2015 21:59
