Morning everyone

Hope you are all well and ready for the weekend. I got my urine sample back yesterday and it was inconclusive as it showed mixed growth. The advice was to visit out of hours if I feel poorly or hand another sample in on Monday. I feel ok thankfully. Had my Christmas meal last night, went for Mexican. I had to stop myself from gipping so many timesSad the smell of others food and alcohol was gross. I just wanted to puke. Just had to breathe through my mouth and close my nose if you know what I mean.

I have also been worrying about symptoms coming and going, I think it's the most unreliable thing to judge whether the pregnancy is ok or not as it varies so much. All the posts I have read have followed no patterns at all. One min you feel pregnant and the next you don't seems perfectly normal. There could be someone who had symptoms all along but maybe had a missed miscarriage. Don't mean to panic anyone but just pointing out that there is no point worrying / symptom or lack of symptom spotting on something that we just don't know. Hope that makes sense.

For all of those with horrendous nausea my alternative therapy nutritionist told me that it is caused by a lack of minerals. I think this is true, certainly in my case. So make sure you are all taking a multi vitamin!

9+4 today.

Roll on 12 week scan!

Loki17 · 19/12/2015 08:05

All of those points you've made, Mel, run through my head about 12 times a day. It's so bloody scary and there is nothing we can do except just try and be positive. I gave suffered with sickness much worse in this pregnancy than with my dd. I think tiredness also plays a huge part. At least that is what I tell myself when I fall asleep at 8 pm every night. I'm going out with my sils today to get my nails done. I'm usually an 'occasional file and a coat of clear varnish' kind of girl so I'm quite looking forward to it. Currently sat in my pj's with my kitten on my knee, snuggled next to my dd watching Christmas films. I know I'll puke mu guts up in about an hour, but right now, I'm in heaven. Xmas Grin

Checking in for the first time. 9 weeks ish I think at the moment. Had my booking in appointment but no scan date yet and no blood tests or anything so I may just be imagining it all!

Debating whether to go for a private scan as I'm too impatient, and very jealous of everyone else's scan pictures.

mascaraisamust · 19/12/2015 08:19

Gosh I'm so lucky I'm not sicky. For the last three days tiredness has been the only symptom but that is because I am actually tired! If it wasnt for the progesterone I could forget I'm pregnant. 9 weeks today Smile the early scan has provided some reassurance but I'm still nervous! So daft!

redstrawberries101 · 19/12/2015 08:26

I think this is what they call parenthood... From the moment you find out you are pregnant ... That worry will stay with you forever now. Is the baby going to be born ok, is it
Ok when it's crying, will it be ok at nursery, school, high school, teen years, big bad world... Welcome to parenthood Grin

gnat99 · 19/12/2015 08:28

Morning all, it's been a while since I posted, can't believe you are so far in to new thread already!

Congrats to the newbies, and to all those who've had scans, and posted cute pics Smile

I've been busy or completely wiped out for past ten days with cold, birthday and visitors. All over now but we are travelling to in-laws tmrw, (with private scan en route, eek! ) and have nothing packed! DH doing my head in. Think he is getting nervous about the scan too, and slightly freaking out about impending fatherhood. Yesterday he was acting very weird & pensive in the morning - while I was dashing around wrapping presents, posting Christmas cards to his family and icing the cake, making lists, etc. It didn't help that he was hung over after drinking with visiting buddy. Then last night as he wanted to stay out drinking with the same friend despite the fact that we have loads to do today and we had all four of us agreed it would be an early night, as the friends are leaving tmrw. I was so upset! Told him off in front of them, although because they don't know I'm pregnant I just looked like a b*tch. Felt so tired and overwhelmed and unsupported. He came home after that, but fell asleep on the couch snoring so I just left him and went to bed.

Sorry for the big vent! I am so sick of keeping it a secret and having to invent excuses for not drinking and for being so tired, and for letting a cold get me down this much. And I'm worried about the scan too! But I really need everything to be organised today so I can get some sleep before we leave at 6am this morning...And we are going to see Star Wars at 6 with DH and his friends.

Birthday a bit of a weird one this year - went for dinner with DH. It was lovely, but I usually go to the pub for food & drinks, and invite everyone I know! If people haven't guessed already, they will have now I reckon. Thankfully we can tell everyone after the hols, if all goes well at the scan. Hope it does!

Loki your morning sounds lovely. Hope the sickness stays at bay so you can get through your movie.

redstrawberries101 · 19/12/2015 08:33

Aw gnat, take 5mins out for yourself to take stock. You sound very busy and you don't want to get stressed. Can you delegate anything or just not bother with some things? I'm looking forward to telling my family but to be honest I'm enjoying the secret as well. My mum,mil and my closest friends know and that's enough! Sometimes can't be bothered with the 'world' and all the comments/advice others will offer. Kaytee, it's so rude to ask someone if they are expecting. I find that really personal.

gnat99 · 19/12/2015 08:38

Thanks Mel

I meant leaving at 6am tomorrow morning, and not today, obviously!

Kaytee I agree, that is so rude of your colleague.

Loki17 · 19/12/2015 08:43

I'm tired of keeping it a secret too. I can't wait to tell our families. We've kept it a secret so that we can protect dd if something bad was to happen. However, if we were to get bad news at the scan I'd need to tell my mum and mil. I'd need some support. I'd still hope to spare dd the upset though. I think it's made my worry even worse not having anyone to talk too. I'm trying to stay positive though and hope we get to reveal our surprise on Christmas day. I love looking at all of your scan pictures too! Fingers crossed for all of us!

gnat99 · 19/12/2015 09:26

Glad I'm not the only one!

Forgot to say I'm 11+2 today

Loki17 · 19/12/2015 09:31

I think my sickness is actually getting worse. The last two days I've puked when hungry and then again when I've eaten. I'm 10 weeks and one day.

redstrawberries101 · 19/12/2015 10:01

You guys are almost at the 12 week milestone! Grin 2 weeks 3 days left for me yet lol X

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 19/12/2015 10:08

Loki I think 10-12 was my worst period for sickness. It's easing off a bit now, although not completely, at almost 13 weeks.

Loki17 · 19/12/2015 10:28

That makes me feel better, thanks, You.

CultureSucksDownWords · 19/12/2015 10:50

Hi everyone :-) just had my private scan, and thankfully everything looks ok as far as they can tell at the moment. They dated me at 11+6 which is what my LMP dates are as well. Baby was wriggling around like crazy, saw the heart beating, it was really great to see! Now I have to really recognise that I definitely am pregnant!

Cheery1 · 19/12/2015 10:51

Just to say scan went really well. Little one was bouncing and wriggling around, waving at one point! Can quite believe it. Needless to say, so relieved all is well!
Happy Saturday all Xmas Smile

P.s. Put me at 11 weeks so couple of days ahead.

Cheery1 · 19/12/2015 10:54

gnat so pleased your scan went well too

loki hang on in there. I know the waiting seems endless. Keeping everything crossed yiur scan goes well - fact you're sick is a great sign!

Cheery1 · 19/12/2015 10:55

P.s. Hooray too to you culture x

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 19/12/2015 11:01

I was quite looking forward to seeing a wriggly baby at my scan yesterday, but he hardly moved! Kicked his legs a bit, and moved his hands slightly, but that was it! Obviously a very chilled out baby!

beckslovestimmy · 19/12/2015 11:04

Loki I was diagnosed with HG and put on meds which kept things under control. Now nearly 14 weeks and I'm nearly off my meds and feeling much better. Worse time is tea time but I can still eat and that helps. Hopefully only a few more weeks and you'll be feeling better.

Cheery that's an amazing scan picture, it makes things seem so much more real.

DH didn't talk about the baby or me being pregnant at all other than to say 'that was bloody quick' when I showed him the positive test but since the scan he's talked about it every day. That's definitely made it more real for me too. We haven't told any family yet (waiting until Christmas Day) it's nice having a little secret for just us and planning how to break the news. __

Loki17 · 19/12/2015 11:18

Congratulations to those who have seen their little babies! It's very exciting! Even though I only have a small bump I've been struggling with achy joints at night and my favourite sleeping position of on my side/front with my leg raised right up to my chest is now uncomfortable. I remembered using a pillow to rest my leg on in my last pg, so I tried it again last night and it was do comfy! I recommend to anyone who likes to lie on their front or side.

beckslovestimmy · 19/12/2015 11:29
