Good luck today mascara! Excited for you x

Cheery1 · 17/12/2015 07:24

Shellfish is fine as long as cooked. If not, smoked salmon....? I made some chestnut and cranberry falafels last week from BBC food website - really tasty, v preggy friendly, and healthy!

Bluebell20 · 17/12/2015 08:38

Mascara, hope the scan goes well!

Smoked salmon is okay to eat, and I would really recommend little hors d'oeuvres of crunchy biscuit (something like melba toast cut into squares), topped with a mixture of equal parts creme fraiche and horseradish, topped with smoked salmon. SO GOOD. That's what I do every Christmas now!

Cheery, those falafels sound AMAZING. I have chestnuts in the cupboard... I see these happening!

Morning ladies had a bit of a mixed day yesterday. Day started out really badly - had my appointment for bloods - after being used as a pin cushion for ages nurse wasn't able to get anything aaargh she then dispatched me to the hospital so they could use "specialist needles" to take it from my wrist (oh the pain!) by that point I was in a foul mood especially as I still had to get to work. On the plus side we had our private scan in the evening and it was the most amazing experience sooo different to the NHS one we had a couple of weeks ago. We booked with ultrasound direct at fenchurch street and I would highly recommend them for anyone in London wanting a private scan. There was beautiful classical music playing baby was wriggling away with lots of kicking it's legs and hands, sonographer spent ages explaining everything in detail and gave us a 4D scan for free (4D a bit scary looking as no real facial features yet) but it was still lovely to have that at 10 weeks.

Everyone complaining of bloating I'm in the same boat I look about 5 months at the moment which makes me a bit miserable because I've got giant boobs and a really small waist so my go to outfits have always been 50s style dresses which highlight this - without much of a waist anymore and now "matronly" boobs I couldn't find anything to wear to the Xmas party tonight so settled on a giant sack dress from next. Easily the worst outfit I've ever worn but Ho hum got to remember that I'm growing a small human inside me so things are bound to look different.

Can't remember who mentioned grapes but I'm totally addicted to that at the mo as well, I get through two of the 500g M&S ones everyday - dread to think what it does to my sugar levels but I'm addicted!

pulpi pleased the big reveal went well it must be such a huge relief not to hide it from family anymore. I can't wait until our reveal on Xmas day I feel like I've been avoiding my mom as I'm sooo bad at keeping secrets and worried about blurting it out

mascara good luck with the scan today.

Kaytee1987 · 17/12/2015 08:41

Mascara I will probably feel exactly the same next week before my scan!
We will either make butternut squash & chilli soup, butternut squash & sweet potato soup for our starter. Not feeling Christmassy at all, this constant exhaustion / sick feeling is really getting me down Sad

beckslovestimmy · 17/12/2015 08:52

Good luck for today mascara.

Cheery1 · 17/12/2015 09:00

Bluebell - mmmmm smoked salmon and creme fraiche! Yum!

Allthegood - That's good to know that Ultrasounds direct are good - booked one in Woodford on Sat, was nervous anyway and couldn't find any reviews so that's great to know. SO delighted that you saw your little one so clearly. How wonderful. I'm loving the scan updates, just lovely. The wardrobe issue….hmmm like you, my go to is emphasise my waist but that is a no go as I look like I've had a big lunch permanently - bloated not pregnant! Empire line…..? Ebay is good (obvs not for Friday but for future), you can find lovely Toast dresses, very forgiving and pretty for bargain prices, to cover this odd 'bloat not bump' phase….

Aw Kaytee - sorry you're feeling so rubbish. At least do you finish work soon? I think plenty of sleep and rest helps with the nausea - I've felt so much worse on my 5.30am start days. Hope you feel better soon. Butternut squash soup sounds delicious!

Pulpi - you must feel great now your parents know. Love the stunned silence!

Loki - We've got scan on Sat, soooo nervous. Not getting much sleep. Trying to distract myself with Xmas!

Cheery1 · 17/12/2015 09:10

10+3

Kaytee1987 · 17/12/2015 09:12

Cheery I've only got 25th, 28th, 1st & 4th off but much better than nothing. Will just try not to be as busy as I usually am over Christmas and do some relaxing instead. I have a cleaner coming on Saturday for 3/4 hours so at least I won't have to do that :)

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 17/12/2015 09:22

I sympathise Kaytee - it's so hard to feel Christmassy when you just feel sick and tired.

I've been so demotivated. The other day I was in a shop and needed to buy a card for someone. I stood staring at the selection for a while and then I just left - I couldn't be bothered to think about it and couldn't face standing in the queue or talking to the cashier. It was a low moment!

Cheery1 · 17/12/2015 09:38

Aw, kaytee - rest up while you can x

Cheery1 · 17/12/2015 09:42

Apologies allthegood, today is Thursday not Friday! Sure my post made no sense!

Woodsy81 · 17/12/2015 10:03

Morning everyone
Sorry your are feeling so rough kaytee. This time of year can sometimes be hard work as it is without the sickness etc.
That's lovely that you told your folks pulpi. Can't wait to tell my dad at the weekend. Hope you have a lovely holiday. I was in Canada in the summer time and loved it. It must be amazing in the winter especially if its all snowy.
This is my second morning of feeling really sick which is weird as I thought I would be out of the woods at 12 weeks. Was 20 minutes late for work this morning as couldn't leave the toilet bowl, just in case. Normally look forward to my tea break at work but the thought of tea is really making me feel awful. (I love tea). :(
Just keep taking deep breaths at my desk as waves of nausea pass over me. Ugh!

Woodsy81 · 17/12/2015 10:03

Hope scan goes well Mascara. :)

redstrawberries101 · 17/12/2015 10:25

Thanks for sharing! I'll type properly late but don't think we have had heard from missclarke recently- she was going to have a scan on Wednesday for some bleeding. Hope all is well miss Clarke X

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 17/12/2015 10:26

Definitely made sense cheery thanks for the eBay tip - I still need to find a dress for Xmas day so will definitely have a look.

Cheery1 · 17/12/2015 10:31

Allthegood - Ah good, my brain is not working at all, finding actual sentences hard work!

Vickie360 · 17/12/2015 11:17

Just had my booking in app the midwife was lovely she remembered from my miscarriage and gave me a hug but there was no record of my ectopic so had to through that. Just waiting for my scan date now it's starting to feel a bit more real.

Cookiesandcoffee · 17/12/2015 11:46

11+3 they confirmed my date as exactly right. NT measurement was really small just to wait for result to come back.
Good luck mascara I'm sure it's you who has a scan today too

Wow cookie! Amazing picture, so clear. Smile

Ellizardo · 17/12/2015 12:24

Cheery - were due date buddies! 10+3 per new scan today. Good luck with yours! Bean now 35mm so able to take Harmony bloods. Fingers crossed we find out stuff on 29th now when in for nuchal.

Allthegood - private is nice isn't it?! Sigh. But just remember no amount of classical music is going to help when you're in labour..!

Pulpi - love your parents reaction. Hope they can come visit in the summer...

Hope you're ok Miss Clarke and feel better Kaytee..any cooking delegation you can do? X

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 17/12/2015 12:42

Didn't think it would Eli! Wink

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 17/12/2015 13:38

Kaj my scan isn't until the 30th. For the first time ever I want Christmas to hurry up haha.

Bluebell I bet you look gorgeous with your swishy new hair. I need to get my eyes tested I'm sure my eye prescription needs changing. Mine always get bad in pregnancy.

Becks lovely scan pic. It's amazing how big and how much detail there is at such an early stage.

Pinsey so sorry about your mc. Scan looks good. It must be so hard not to worry but everything is looking good for you so far.

Mini eek exciting that you have a scan soon. I have bum pain in bed at night it feels achy. I had spd last time and pretty sure I have it already again.

Allthegood and cheery I am struggling with clothes too. I had a pot belly anyway but I guess it's now pushed forward more and I can't suck it in like I usually can. I like 50s style dresses too but they are straining over my tummy. I've gone for a couple of tunic dresses for over Christmas. Feel like such a fat frump.

Cookies fab scan. Wow very rare to be bang on for dates I'm always about 6 days out.

Those that have had scans and now have a different due date remember to update the July stats thread.

I'm not feeling very festive. I feel stressed out, tired, nauseous and I have an annoying cough and cold. Bah humbug. I'm hoping that I will start to get into the spirit this afternoon as ds3 has a Christmas party at nursery that I'm going to. I'm really looking forward to spending some time with him.

11+0

Kaytee1987 · 17/12/2015 13:53

Ellizardo I don't usually do the cooking anyway which is a plus, just help out & wash up. The kitchen is DH's domain, I actually quite like cooking but he seems to have taken charge of it.
