Cheery1 · 17/12/2015 15:53

Aw Cookies! Lovely scan pic!

Elizardo - hey date buddy, this may change I've got a dating scan on Sat (v,v nervous) but I'm enjoying it for now Xmas Smile

Beautician - yuck and bleugh to cold! I had that last week. Lemon and honey all the way. Oh and breathe right nose strips actually work and help with getting some sleep. Hope you feel better soon.

Cheery1 · 17/12/2015 16:52

P.S. Vicky - hope you feel better soon too! Know how you feel, scan on Sat, soooo nervous!

minieggaddict · 17/12/2015 19:22

I can sympathize with those of you with colds. Mine started yesterday and isn't too bad but the cough started today as I was at a cash machine and it made me gag so much I thought I was going to throw up on the screen eurgggghh!Blush

redstrawberries101 · 17/12/2015 20:09

I've also developed a cold, the throat is the worst and the congested head. No cough thankfully.

Got a call from midwife yesterday, my urine sample from booking appt showed an infection. My GP called a little while after and said that the bug is only sensitive to three antibiotics, two of which are not suitable for the first trimester. The third can only be administered in hospital through IV. Because it's been a week I handed another sample in this morning. Results might be back tomorrow afternoon. Will decide from there.

Funny thing is after the call, I noticed pain in my lower stomach and it was quite severe. I think subconsciously I had been ignoring it/ putting it down to pregnancy related cramps but I've also had a sore back and fever. I just put it down to the cold.

Bit disappointed in the infection, because the doctors will push for me to go on long term antibiotics even more now given my splenectomy. Felt all upset and wound up yesterday!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 17/12/2015 20:16

Mel sorry to hear that - especially after everything you've been through already. On the positive side at least it's been picked up early and treating the infection should ease the pain. This pregnancy lark can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes - the little ones better be grateful when they finally arrive!

Kaytee1987 · 17/12/2015 20:27

Mel that's a real shame, hopefully your body fights it off and you don't need to go to hospital. What a nightmare at this time of year!
I wondered what they needed the urine sample for, my midwife put a strip in it so I assumed it was just to test for pregnancy.

I'm in my bed now just about to turn the lights off, can hardly keep my eyes open and it's only 8.30 Blush

Flossiesmummy · 17/12/2015 20:28

Hello! Popping back in to show you this!

Scan was great, a little wriggly blob with a strong heartbeat. Could even hear the heartbeat Smile I am 8+5 like I thought. Got my hospital scan through but it's the 21st January! I'll nearly be 15 weeks! Is that too far?

Mel hope youre ok, at least you'll be monitored closely x

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 17/12/2015 20:36

Mini sorry to hear you have a cold too.

Mel sorry about your cold and infection. Hopefully it clears soon but at least they've picked it up and you aren't left worrying about any pain it may cause.

Flossie great scan pic so clear.

I'm such a grumpy cow it's getting ridiculous. I'm even sick of myself. I was never as bad with the others. I either want to shout or cry Sad

redstrawberries101 · 17/12/2015 21:02

Aww thank you, your support means a lot! Smile

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 17/12/2015 21:49

I feel sooo sick tonight! I think it's a combination of having eaten too much at my work Christmas lunch, and nerves about the scan in the morning! I don't think I'll ever be able to sleep tonight.

Loki17 · 17/12/2015 22:04

Really glad to see/hear those of you with scans today went well! Sorry about your news Mel, fingers crossed it isn't anything to worry about. It's the last day of term for me tomorrow. So glad to be having a break! The tiredness and sickness have stepped up a gear and I look like absolute shit. 10 weeks tomorrow. 5 days away from my scan. Counting the days and the minutes now!

Cookiesandcoffee · 17/12/2015 23:13

Aw mel sorry to hear about the infection, you really don't deserve it. I'm glad it's been picked up for you and hopefully pains will ease. Best of luck for the results
flossy that's a lovely scan pic Smile seems so real now they look like babies Wink
Glad your scan went well mascara and your dates are right. That is a little on the late side? I spoke to the sonographer today and she said it was around 14+4 or something (if you're having the NT scan) if you are worried I would ring up. I called the number on my letter and changed it.
Although, I haven't divulged the drama of today. Despite trekking across the large hospital to 3 different departments it turned out my scan was never booked for today, the lady I spoke to hadnt out it in the system. Thank GOD a kind lady in antenatal took pity on me and squeezed me in. There were nearly mega tears/melt down in the reception area.

Sorry to hear about your cold mini. They really suck in pregnancy!

Good luck for your scan tomorrow allthegood Grin

11+3 oh and I have my 20 week scan date - 15th Feb GrinGrin

Scase1firsttimemum · 18/12/2015 06:49

Sorry to hear about everyone having colds, I think mine is just about going after a week or two of having it! Just a snuffly nose now.
I ended up having to do two urine tests as the first one came out inconclusive for an infection but the second one came out clear which is good :)
Such lovely and clear scan photos being put up on here! And how exciting that peoples due dates are being pushed closer!

Cookies and Flossie, lovely pictures - and glad yours went well too, Mascara.

Vikki, my scan is on Monday, too!

Beautician, yes, I do like my hair now! Actually, I love it! I just needed to wash and dry it myself. Sorry to hear about the cold. I am so thankful to have shaken mine, and am now holding the kids at school at arm's length! Talking about all this has made me realise that I haven't managed to get a flu jab yet, so I really, really must organise that. Anyone else not managed to do it yet?

My last day at school today, too Loki. Have a good one!

Melvali, so sorry to hear about the infection. Best to get it cleared up though, honey, so that you are in tip top condition.

Kaytee, I have been told to bring a urine sample to every midwife appointment, as they will test for infection every time. It is routine as infections are common in pregnancy.

11 + 6 today... Tomorrow I will tick over to 12! Eek!

Kaytee1987 · 18/12/2015 07:49

Bluebell I haven't had my flu jab yet either. I know it can't give you the flu but I always feel ill for days after it so wasn't going to bother, I've not had the flu in years and didn't bother getting it the last 4 years. My midwife told me I HAD to get it though so I guess that means another appointment out of work. I'm also due a check up at the dentist! My team are going to think I'm at it!

Cheery1 · 18/12/2015 07:52

Mel - ah that's really stressful but as the other ladies say, at least they've found infection so can look after you now. Hoping you feel less upset today.

Flossie - what a lovely pic!

Mascara - great that your scan was good, always so heartening to see a little bean wriggling around and a heartbeat is fantastic.

Cookies - what a blooming nightmare! So glad they fitted you in. I don't know, you get all geared up and then they tell you you're not booked in! Grrrr! 20 week scan date is really exciting though!!!

Sympathy to all the ladies with colds, just seeing off mine. Honey and lemon plus breathe right nose strips are my top tips in lieu of lemsip.

All the good - good luck with scan today!

Scan tomorrow - really excited and really nervous. Not much sleeping tonight.

Happy Friday ladies! Xmas Smile

Cheery1 · 18/12/2015 07:54

P.s. Bluebell - that's so exciting that you're nearly past the 12 week milestone!

Loki - sorry you feel so rubbish. My friends that are teachers are always on their last legs by the end of this loooong winter term, add pregnancy and i just don't know how you've done it. Well deserved rest tomorrow x

Cheery1 · 18/12/2015 07:56

Sorry Allthegood, don't think you're having scan today (stupid preggo brain) but have a lovely day anyway!

Youandme - good luck to you for scan. Hope you got a bit of sleep x

Cheery1 · 18/12/2015 08:08

Kaytee - had flu jab on Tues and just felt a bit tired with a sore arm. Nurse said reaction varies depending on types of flu in the vaccination and that this year it's not too bad.

beckslovestimmy · 18/12/2015 08:41

Good luck to those with scans today.
Flossie your pic is so clear.
Mel hope your second sample is clear and you don't need the antibiotics.

Sorry for those of you with colds, its so miserable. Me and DH have had onesie a week or so. He's dosed up on lemsip/night nurse and is still dying, I've taken nothing and am having to just get on with things. Grrrr! **

Kaytee1987 · 18/12/2015 08:44

That's good to hear cheery, Im supposed to get it every year but reckon I have a pretty good immune system so dont bother but know being pregnant can lower your immune system.

Cheery1 · 18/12/2015 08:49

Ha! That sounds about typical becky!

Yeah Kaytee, I've never had one before as like you, normally pretty hardy but better to be safe eh. I honestly haven't felt too bad.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 18/12/2015 08:52

Thanks cheery happy Friday to you too and good luck to all those having scans today and tomorrow!x
