Hello everybody, nice to be back. Sorry I didn't manage to post over the holidays, was away for two weeks, first with DH family in Cumbria, then in Ireland with mine - lots of rain and wind in both places. Had a bit of a catch up read on NYE, but then too exhausted to post!
Welcome to all the new joiners, and congrats on all the gorgeous scans. I definitely remember seeing one from Cheery and Ellizardo, but there were lots more. And Beautician - we are not date buddies anymore! Unless my dates change again tomorrow, that is.
In answer to someone's question, there is a stats thread - search for 'July stats'.
So sad to hear Melvali's news. I had been feeling a bit more positive since our private scan 2 weeks ago, and allowing myself to feel excited. But now that we've started telling people, I'm getting nervous again - especially as we have nhs scan tomorrow, and suddenly I'm worried that something's gone wrong in the last fortnight. You really just never know, do you.
Scase, what time is your scan tomorrow? Mine's 9.55. Good luck!
We told our families over the holidays - they were all delighted, not terribly surpised since we got married during the year, but really pleased. My older sister was particularly excited, since I lived with her & her DH for almost a year as a nanny when she had twins 9 years ago. She also has a 6yo. Turns out she has been keeping some clothes and books for me since then just in case! I presumed all the stuff had long gone. We had a really touching hour or so where she took out a whole suitcase full of nursing tops, stretchy jeans, bras, etc. We are a totally different bra size, so her nursing bras barely fit me now! But they certainly fit me a lot better than the ones I was wearing did... So that's a relief. Must really go and get fitted for new ones in a few weeks. She also gave me 'The Pregnancy Bible' and 'What to Expect when you're Expecting', which look really good. And about 6 baby name books... I had planned to buy a book or two soon, but didn't want to tempt fate by shopping too soon. Same goes for clothes - I've been wearing a lot of tunic dresses with leggings, and skirts that can sit a bit higher than usual. Definitely have a teeny tiny bump now.
Indians, sorry to hear you've been feeling down. Glad you feel better now. I'm quite scared of pre/postnatal depression, as I have suffered from depression in the past. So far I've been mostly OK though, apart from a few low days. I think anxiety at this stage is pretty normal, so I try and tell myself that.
Pulpi, sounds like you had a great time in Canada. Hope you haven't suffered from all the flooding on your return. Your recent posts have made me chuckle
Bluebell - glad to hear your embarrassing green problem hasn't returned. I've never had that, but I certainly have started getting more discharge over the past week. I was quite dry before that. Thankfully it looks fairly normal.
Vikki, sorry to hear about your grandma
. Take care of yourself.
Right, better post this before it gets any longer....
