Really sorry for your loss vikki from what I've heard from friends it sounds even harder to deal with a loss when pregnant. Hope your other half can offer some help and support at this difficult time. Hugs Thanks

gnat99 · 04/01/2016 17:14

Hello everybody, nice to be back. Sorry I didn't manage to post over the holidays, was away for two weeks, first with DH family in Cumbria, then in Ireland with mine - lots of rain and wind in both places. Had a bit of a catch up read on NYE, but then too exhausted to post!

Welcome to all the new joiners, and congrats on all the gorgeous scans. I definitely remember seeing one from Cheery and Ellizardo, but there were lots more. And Beautician - we are not date buddies anymore! Unless my dates change again tomorrow, that is.

In answer to someone's question, there is a stats thread - search for 'July stats'.

So sad to hear Melvali's news. I had been feeling a bit more positive since our private scan 2 weeks ago, and allowing myself to feel excited. But now that we've started telling people, I'm getting nervous again - especially as we have nhs scan tomorrow, and suddenly I'm worried that something's gone wrong in the last fortnight. You really just never know, do you.

Scase, what time is your scan tomorrow? Mine's 9.55. Good luck!

We told our families over the holidays - they were all delighted, not terribly surpised since we got married during the year, but really pleased. My older sister was particularly excited, since I lived with her & her DH for almost a year as a nanny when she had twins 9 years ago. She also has a 6yo. Turns out she has been keeping some clothes and books for me since then just in case! I presumed all the stuff had long gone. We had a really touching hour or so where she took out a whole suitcase full of nursing tops, stretchy jeans, bras, etc. We are a totally different bra size, so her nursing bras barely fit me now! But they certainly fit me a lot better than the ones I was wearing did... So that's a relief. Must really go and get fitted for new ones in a few weeks. She also gave me 'The Pregnancy Bible' and 'What to Expect when you're Expecting', which look really good. And about 6 baby name books... I had planned to buy a book or two soon, but didn't want to tempt fate by shopping too soon. Same goes for clothes - I've been wearing a lot of tunic dresses with leggings, and skirts that can sit a bit higher than usual. Definitely have a teeny tiny bump now.

Indians, sorry to hear you've been feeling down. Glad you feel better now. I'm quite scared of pre/postnatal depression, as I have suffered from depression in the past. So far I've been mostly OK though, apart from a few low days. I think anxiety at this stage is pretty normal, so I try and tell myself that.

Pulpi, sounds like you had a great time in Canada. Hope you haven't suffered from all the flooding on your return. Your recent posts have made me chuckle Smile

Bluebell - glad to hear your embarrassing green problem hasn't returned. I've never had that, but I certainly have started getting more discharge over the past week. I was quite dry before that. Thankfully it looks fairly normal.

Vikki, sorry to hear about your grandma Flowers. Take care of yourself.

Right, better post this before it gets any longer....

*Melvani so sorry to hear your sad news, I found out at 10weeks that baby had no heartbeat and stopped growing at 10. That was March this year. I took lots of time with the people I loved before I made any decisions. I ended up having 3 months of work after but that was what I needed. I am currently 14 weeks and keeping everything crossed. If you need to chat I'm hear. Sending hugs to you xxx

Ellizardo · 04/01/2016 17:39

Gnat - lovely to hear you bonding with your sister over this, makes me wish I had one!

And good luck with your scan tmw!
I had my Nhs nuchal one today (did you too Jem?)

All well and took Teddy who showed zero interest in his little sister on screen (but loved the blue paper they cover the reclining chair with!)

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 04/01/2016 17:55

So sorry to hear your news Mel you will definitely be missed on the thread. Take care and good luck for the future.ThanksThanks

Jem01 · 04/01/2016 18:04

I'm so so sorry Mel and Vikki, sorry to hear about your grandma. Thinking of you both x

Ellizardo - yes I had my nuchal scan this morning, baby was fine, now just to wait for news on blood results. Glad to hear yours went well too. What time did you have yours? Mine was at 9:05.

Off to the states on Friday to visit family, really looking forward to sharing the news with my sister and bro in law.

CultureSucksDownWords · 04/01/2016 18:11

Does anyone know how long it takes for the combined Nuchal/blood test results to come back? Presumably you get a letter? I should have asked the sonographer but was distracted by all the faff trying to get the baby to move to the right position.

photographerlady · 04/01/2016 18:55

CultureSucksDownWords I was told today 2-3 weeks for the letter but if the test comes back high risk than they will ring you. I kinda remembered last time they rang me anyway and the results came back low risk.

Jen have a great time just got back last week from Philly. I ate so many pickles Smile

Had my dating scan today. Went well and my 2.5 year old held my hand which was sweet. Dc2 was forward facing so took a lot of jiggling hips to temp them to give a good profile.

felinewonderful · 04/01/2016 19:01

hello, not been on here much lately due to fatigue mainly but just wanted to say sorry to mel for your loss. I hope you find the strength to get through this and wish you all the luck for the future.

I have my scan at 9am tomorrow and very nervous.

CultureSucksDownWords · 04/01/2016 19:11

Thanks photographerlady that sounds vaguely familiar so they must have told me at some point! And thinking about it, the sonographer did ask for my mobile as well as home number. We had the test done on the 29th which seems ages ago but is only 3 working days ago cos of the bank holiday.

Hi all, haven't been on for ages as I've been so ill with sickness and then a nasty bout of tonsillitis. Has anyone set up a Facebook group yet? I think most other antenatal groups have them, but easier to keep up that way.

Mel, so sorry to hear your terribly sad news. Sending hugs x

Bluebell20 · 04/01/2016 19:22

Oh Melvali, I am so sad for you. I hope that the amazing positivity and strength you've shown us over the last couple of months helps you to deal with this difficult time. When you do decide to try again, I hope it goes beautifully for you. xx

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 04/01/2016 19:34

Gnat we are only a day out. Who knows when these babies will arrive. Lovely about your sister. Mine just wanted to start arguments all holidays she's so frustrating. Good luck with the scan tomorrow.

Culture I was told when I had my bloods and the nuchal fold test done that I should get a letter within two weeks. I had my scan on the 30th so my letter will probably get delayed. I think if there is a problem they call you sooner so no news is good news.

Photographer so cute that your toddler held your hand. Mine doesn't sit still for 5 minutes haha.

Four no Facebook group as yet. I would be interested though.

I was going to say is it worth doing a new list on the stats thread. Lots of people have dropped off the thread and a few have had losses and I don't want to be removing people. But there seems to be the regular bunch on here yet loads and loads on the stats and it's confusing me Grin

Gnat- mine is at 11:55, very nervous and hoping everything is okay!

There is actually a July 2016 facebook group I am on there Smile

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 04/01/2016 19:36

Scase when did that happen? Good luck for your scan.

Bluebell20 · 04/01/2016 19:42

Woodsy, that is really naughty that they've taken so long to get the Harmony results to you - although I suppose if the machine has broken they can't help it. This has made me wonder whether my results might also be very late, as they are probably processed at the same place... I hope not, as I am already pretty far on in my pregnancy if it does happen to be bad news...

Julfin, I told my boss today (headteacher; I'm a teacher) and it was fine - she was very warm and congratulatory. However I am only a part-timer, and a notorious trouble-maker, so it probably isn't too painful to lose me for a bit ;) I'm sure your manager will be fine, though - legally there is nothing they can say, anyway! And who's to say that you didn't find out about your pregnancy till later on?

Vikki, very sorry for your loss.

gnat, that is so sweet of your sister! Actually when I made my announcement at work today I got immediate offers of hand-me-down everything - bloody fantastic, as we are not exactly rolling in it at the moment!

Culture, I was told a letter in two weeks, but if anything was wrong, I would get a phone call within five working days. As it happens, they got the results to me by letter within four working days, which was surprisingly fast.

Congratulations to all those who have had happy outcomes at their scans.

Oh dear, if you all go over to Facebook then I might have to actually cave and create a Facebook account, as I'll miss you all too much!!!

HopesAndDreams15 · 04/01/2016 19:44

I'm so sorry to hear your news Melvali, I hope you're being well looked after. Thanks

Vilkki sorry to hear about your Grandma too Thanks

Im looking forward to my scan on Thursday but also feeling quite anxious about it, only 3 more days to wait!

Good luck to those with scans tomorrow Smile

Beautician- not sure when it happened, just searched up July 2016 babies and saw a group so Ive joined it, I could try make a new group so all the ladies on here can join it so we all sort of know each other and they're not just randoms?

I got my harmony results back tonight. We are low risk for everything tested and we found out we are having a little girl. I don't think i have ever had such a rush of emotion as when I opened the email. We were standing outside the cinema at the time and I was just crying so much. I am really pleased we are having a girl too as is DH. Just feel I can really start to enjoy everything now and start planning. Have felt in limbo for such a long time.

Scase1firsttimemum · 04/01/2016 21:04

Oh wow congratulations on finding out youre having a girl!! Im gunna try get a private scan for 16 weeks so I can find out the sex early :) how exciting for you both

Congratulations woodsy how lovely. Great to have some good news. Making me even more impatient to find out!
indians did the doc tell you you can't breastfeed on them? Are they planning on keeping you in longer after due to depression sorry? I only ask as I had depression in my last pregnancy.
It's why I'm trying to keep exercising as that makes a massive difference to me. Managed an LBT class tonight despite working a long day at work so I'm pleased.

I can't remember who asked about NT results with NHS but I had mine done on about the 16th Dec and heard nothing yet. Hoping this obviously means everything is good but was told a week and should be back before Xmas Hmm. Making me nervous as we have told the whole world now it seems.

Do we have a Facebook group I've missed? Or is it just one out there?
