I was feeling a bit clogged over Christmas as well, Cookies, so much so that every time I managed anything I did the Potty Dance of Victory around my Mom and Dad's house.. but that has since given way to diarrhea. My toilet looks like a Jackson Pollock (tmi? Yeah, tmi). It's now stopped (mercifully) and I blame it on bad airplane food, too much travel, and a 8-month old nephew who loves to put in his hands in my mouth.. or any mouth, he's really not that picky.. and scrap my teeth.

So that's my advice: find an 8-month old who is genetically predisposed to being a dentist hygienist and that'll get things moving right quick.

redstrawberries101 · 01/01/2016 15:42

Lol pulpi!!!

I've been admitted into Hosp to get IV antibiotics now. There is a risk to the baby's hearing but they said its low in relation to being left untreated and body going into early labour.

Not eaten all day so DH has gone to get something!! So bored already..

redstrawberries101 · 01/01/2016 15:47

Also for the bleeding, doc did internal scan and said it looks ectropian. Anyone know anything about this? She said cervix is closed which is good sign.

MissClarke86 · 01/01/2016 16:08

Melvali an exteriorise cervix is nothing concerning. It's when the cells from the inside grow on the outside too, they graze and bleed easily.

I have one identified during a smear - it's common if you've been on the pill a long time but is nothing to worry about at all as far as I'm aware.

MissClarke86 · 01/01/2016 16:08

Meant to write ectropian.

redstrawberries101 · 01/01/2016 17:06

Thanks miss Clarke ! I thought it was nothing to worry about X

pulpi · 01/01/2016 17:27

So this linea nigra thing has already started to happen for me, which is exciting as it's a visible sign that I'm pregnant, but is supposed to happen sometime in the second trimester. It's not super dark yet, but is definitely visible... even to DH. Anyone else had this show up yet?

Bluebell20 · 01/01/2016 19:08

Thanks Cheery and Cookies re: mucus grossness. Not had any more today so guess it is just one of those things!

Cookies, I've been a bit constipated despite drinking lots / eating lots of fruit and veg. I thought it might be because I've now moved on to pregnancy multi-vits, and I thought they might be clogging me a tad?

Primary, I had the wee pain a few weeks ago, although mine lasted all the way through till morning. I was being very naughty and going back to sleep even when I knew I needed a wee; once I started forcing myself to go to the loo the moment I woke up, I've not had the pain again.

Mel, hope you're feeling better soon!

Pulpi, no linea nigra for me - I just had a look to check!

Happy New Year everyone, by the way. I had a lovely evening chilling out with good friends, and felt very lucky :)

Cheery1 · 01/01/2016 21:00

Ah Mel that is a rough start to the year but sounds like you're inthe best place, even if it's boring! Hope you feel better soon x

redstrawberries101 · 01/01/2016 21:59

Thanks cheery! And everyone else for their support..

Just trying to get comfy in Hosp bed amid the noise and lights!

primarynoodle · 01/01/2016 22:54

Oh no mel! Hope you are ok!

bluebell i confess that is exactly what im doing because i seriously cant be arsed to get out of my warm bed for a wee! I shall have to be firm with myself from now on... although im a teacher and frequently go from needing a wee at 8am to going at 4pm oops :S thatll have to change!

Scase1firsttimemum · 01/01/2016 22:55

Pulpi- i just had to search what that meant and now I have the name for it! I have had mine for a few weeks now I just knew it was something that you get when you're pregnant.. This is another reason people reckon Im further along than we think but Tuesday is the day GrinGrin

Pulpi - got my linea nigra early last preg and am waiting for it to put in an appearance shortly! Plus brown boobs weirdly - my melatonin levels are affected big time it seems.

Happy new year all, 2016 will be Chinese year of the monkey for our little monkeys!

Pinseyboo38 · 02/01/2016 07:33

Morning all, quick question, anyone else experiencing diarrhoea ( tmi sorry). I'm 14+1 and have been on the loo since 4 this morning. Supposed to be in work today but can't travel to far from the toilet at the min. Could this just be a another weird pregnancy thing or a bug Ive picked up. First pregnancy that's got this far so a bit clueless and avid worrier.
Thanks ladies xxx

Lucy90 · 02/01/2016 07:43

Pulpi I also have linea nigra! It arrived about 9 weeks into my last pregnancy and around the same for this one! Also constipated here, I've started having bran flakes every morning this definitely makes a difference

julfin · 02/01/2016 09:04

Pinsey Yes I've had diarrhoea too the last couple of days, but so has DH so it's clearly not pregnancy related! There's lots of bugs going around this time of year. Hope you're better soon.

Melvali - poor you - hope everything's sorted soon. Thinking of you.

Thanks ladies for the advice re the booking appointment. It was really helpful, and great to have some reassurance about the process. The midwife has now given me a massive stash of papers to read, so am feeling a lot less in-the-dark. Wouldn't have minded having all this info earlier than 11 weeks, but hey ho, at least I've got it now and can read up.

Happy new year everyone!

Ellizardo · 02/01/2016 09:49

Julfin - I use The Pregnancy Bible as a good ref book. Glad booking in went well, totally in the dark last time too.

Diarrhoea bad for me too. Preg hormones loosen the bowels.

Jem01 · 02/01/2016 09:57

Happy new year ladies!

I haven't posted in for a while, it's been super busy over Christmas so hope you're all doing well.

Ellizardo - lovely news you're having a girl I bet you're pleased! :-) Anyone else planning to find out?

InsufficientlyCaffeinated - Before I got pregnant (through IVF) people's baby news did sometimes affect me but some days more than others. That might be the case with your Sil? I would tell her not when lots of other people are around. Good luck I'm sure it'll go fine :-)

Welcome to all the newbies! Lovely scan pic primarynoodle :-)

Melvali - hope you feel better soon

pulpi - my linea nigra has appeared! My belly button which is an inny has stretched out too. I did some googling and apparently belly buttons change through pregnancy - did anyone else's change?!

I'm definitely showing now, I look pregnant (especially after eating!). I haven't told work yet and don't plan to until (ideally) end of Feb. Any tips on how to conceal bump at work? I've bought black maternity jeans and a really nice new blazer that I can wear with loose blouses but need some more ideas please!

mascaraisamust · 02/01/2016 10:30

Another linea nigra here too, didn't even know I had it until DH pointed it out! 11 weeks today Smile 10 days until the scan.

Mel hope you're feeling better.

I want a good pregnancy book so keep the recommendations coming!

I've organised my clothes into stretchy/least stretchy. Once I eat I have quite the belly!

Hey all, Happy New Year to everyone. Mel, hope you are on the mend now. Sorry can't keep up with all of the news but it is so nice to read what you are all up to. I am in a strop because I had my booking in appt this morning and the hospital buggered up and didn't get the people in to sort out booking ins, so now they'll call on monday for a new one. I am 11+3 today so feel like time is rushing on and nothing is happening. NT scan booked for 15 Jan so that will make me 13+2 which stresses me a bit too as it seems very late (I am 39 years old, this is my first). I had a private viability scan before xmas so I could tell my family and that was amazing - and the only thing that made it all feel real - but now I'd like the reassurance of my next scan to know things are going ok.

Anyway, sorry to leap on the thread to moan. No linea nigra for me - just usual sore boobs, occasional cramps, bit of brown spotting here and there, nausea (although that seems to be calming down a bit), definitely got a bit of baby brain and hormonal tears etc. New year's eve did make me feel a bit scared about the future - 2016 is a big year for us all.

BTW bit scared of getting an outy belly button - mine is an inny and I really hate the idea of having it touched etc so I hope it doesn't end up poking out too much!

Have a good one!
11+3 (edd 20 July)

redstrawberries101 · 02/01/2016 11:38

Awwww lovely pic!!!

Can't wait for my scan on Friday. I'll hopefully be discharged tomorrow. I don't think I'll be going to work this week. I'm off on Friday anyway for the scan. Watching Jeremy Kyle!!

redstrawberries101 · 02/01/2016 11:39

Forgot to say I have the book 'what to expect when your expecting' it's quite thick but a decent manual to refer to.

Vikkijayne2507 · 02/01/2016 12:27

mel thats rubbish hope it gets sorted. Hello newbies. i have second scan on 6th as baby was 2 small for downs test etc so ill get to see baby again

13 weeks today

photographerlady · 02/01/2016 12:34

Happy new year ladies, I should really get back in the habit of posting here. After months of horrible morning sickness I feel like I'm starting to feel human again. Monday I have my second dating scan (first one was private as I was nervous before Xmas).
