Thought I'd join in as been lurking for a while. Currently 9+6 with twins. The sickness and lack of energy is really getting me down but counting down the weeks until my 12 week scan even though I've had three scans already!

Scrowy · 31/12/2015 12:48

InsufficientlyCaffinated I'm due on the 27th July going by LMP so we can be billy end of July mates together!

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 31/12/2015 13:44

Yay we can keep each other company at the end Scrowy

Welcome on board Pandabarney and congratulations!

primarynoodle · 31/12/2015 14:11

Hi!

I didnt want to join before as when i lost my dd back in august, leaving the mn antenatal group was one of the hardest things i had to do. But have just had a positive 12 week scan (which is where things started to go wrong last time) so have finally plucked up the courage to say hello!

All being well this will be my first living child so im anxious but so far so good! I shall read back through the thread now and try and catch up with who everyone is - is there a stats sheet?

According to scan im 12+4 today and incredibly glad to be nearly clear of first tri!

Thanks mini and Culture for the info re: placentas! And I think the sonographer only had time to look at mine because my baby was lying in a great position for measurements, so she got those done within the first minute!

Congrats to the new joiners, and I love the scan pic, primary!

Okay guys, I'm afraid it's time for some TMI from me. A day or so before my booking-in appointment (around 7.5 weeks) I had some really gross, jellyish, pale green cervical mucus - basically like jelly snot. (Sorry, sorry, and I hope nobody is eating while reading this!) I mentioned it to the midwife, and because I'd said it was green she asked me to do a vaginal swab to test for infection. By then, my cm was back to normal, and there was no infection found.

Anyway, not had anything like it again until the early hours of this morning. It was exactly the same - pale green, very wet and jellyish. Nothing else like it since.

The only thing I can think of that is the same for both events is that I had sex about a day before each. Could it just be semen / lube working its way out? (Sorry, sorry, gross gross gross!)

The reason I ask is because I was a weensy bit worried that it might be a bit of my mucus plug from my cervix - but from what I've heard about others', that is normally brownish and a bit harder?

I will of course mention it to the midwife when I see her in January. My gut instinct is that it's not major enough to ring her about sooner - but what do you guys think? Any ideas?!?!

(And sorry again...)

Cheery1 · 31/12/2015 14:42

Hi primary! Lovely to have you here. So pleased that scan was ok and that you're nearly past first tri - it's such an anxious time I know. We are date buddies along with a few other ladies, so lots of support and hand holding here. X

Cheery1 · 31/12/2015 14:43

bluebell - it sounds like one of those weird pregnancy side effects that no one talks about! Doesn't sound like anything to worry about but I'd call midwife if you're fretting.

Cheery1 · 31/12/2015 14:44

P.s. There is a July 2016 stats thread

mascaraisamust · 31/12/2015 14:50

Insufficiently my due date is 23rd so you won't be alone!

pulpi · 31/12/2015 18:16

Happy New Year ladies! Doubt I'll make it to midnight so getting in early! x

wanting - the waiting is awful, only thing is to keep busy and try to book in nice things to take your mind off worrying. Hope you start to feel better soon. Xxx

Cookiesandcoffee · 31/12/2015 21:57

bluebell I've had that! Scared the life out of me but I'm pretty sure it's one of those things people don't talk about. I remember losing my mucus plug last night and it looked different (blood stained for one). Sorry tmi again. I've never had an anterior placenta so have no knowledge.. It does seem early to analyse its position? The sonographer said she wasn't totally sure when I asked her during my scan.

Hope everything is ok for you youandme I would talk to your midwife if it's really concerning you.

Will totally be going to bed soon... Zzzzzz

redstrawberries101 · 31/12/2015 22:38

Happy new year everyone!! Hopefully it's a good one for us all xxx

redstrawberries101 · 31/12/2015 22:55

Bluebell I'm also having lots of discharge, today it's been red tinted. I don't really know what to think but just trying to keep positive until the scan next week.

primarynoodle · 01/01/2016 09:09

Happy new year :)

Just a quick one... im waking up a couple of times a night dying for the toilet - i know this is normal - but AFTER i have peed i still get that crampy pain for a couple of minutes that you have when youre busting for a wee.. anyone else? Does this need checking?

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 01/01/2016 09:45

Happy new year everyone! I was a bit pathetic last night and fell asleep before midnight!

Funny time this early second trimester: I'm feeling much better - sickness basically gone, not as exhausted as I was etc, but I've still not really got a bump and it's too early to feel the baby move. No reason to think things aren't fine, but it's a bit odd.

BelOfTheBall79 · 01/01/2016 10:35

Happy new year everybody! I've woken up late today (yay) but then got up and was promptly sick (boo) - DH was on the phone to MIL at the time, that call had to be resumed later!

So nice to still see new people joining the thread. Am 13 weeks exactly today and looking forward to starting to feel better soon (hopefully, the doctor told me should start feeling better at around 14 weeks).

Insufficiently and Culture think you both asked about telling people who are having IVF that you're pregnant? Having had fertility issues I can honestly say that I was really happy for others when they told me good news, and could separate my situation from feeling happy for friends. However I had only been having issues for a year or so before starting IVF (although it felt longer at the time!) and got pregnant on my first treatment, but know that's not the same for everyone. So my advice would be to ideally tell your friend / SIL when there aren't lots of other people around, in case they do get upset, but also the very fact that you're concerned shows that you'll do it in a sensitive manner. Just be straight with them, not too "gushy" with the news and allow them to take it all in. Hope that helps Smile

Vickie360 · 01/01/2016 10:48

Happy new year everyone and welcome to the newbies xx

Lucy90 · 01/01/2016 11:00

Happy new year everyone! What's everyone got planned today? DP is at work so I'm snuggled on the sofa watching films with DD!

I came back to out of hours this morning as the antibiotics I was given last sat don't seem to have made a difference. We thought this might be the case but it was the step we decided to take before being admitted and given 3 different IV antibiotics. Was up during the night in pain in my left side and also had some bleeding when wiping. It was really mucus-y. Out of hours have sent me to the gynaecology ward now who apparently were willing to see me as obs triage is very busy. Just waiting to be seen here but there is another couple in front of us who have been waiting an hour and a half!

What a way to begin New Years. We should've been going over to mums for dinner.

CultureSucksDownWords · 01/01/2016 13:11

Oh, that's bad luck Melvali. Hopefully they can get you seen and sorted out soon. Thanks

pulpi · 01/01/2016 13:11

Happy New Year!

We're having a supremely lazy day, but we might go first-footing if we're feeling adventurous. And if we can tear ourselves away from binge watching Netflix.

Fingers crossed for you Melvali that everything goes okay and that your year only gets better!!

Anyone else notice the linea nigra showing up?

Cookiesandcoffee · 01/01/2016 14:28

So sorry to hear mel hope you aren't there too long and everything is ok. Not the best start to 2016 but it will deff get better! Thanks
Sorry to hear a bout the sickness bel hope it was just an isolated one.
primary it doesn't hurt to pop a sample in to get it checked out incase it's a water infection of some sort? I've been getting such a 'full' sensation in my pelvis where there's not enough room in there and it just won't grow enough to pop into a bump.

Anyway else really bunged up following Christmas and a slow metabolism?! Ive been drinking lots of water, eating lots of fibre and still can't get things moving. I'm blaming the fact I'm stil not drinking coffee and the stupid pregnacares
