Cheery let us know how everything goes.
Haha my husband says I'm the most organised person he's ever met (I don't think it was a compliment) considering I will be off work from end June to summer 2017 at some point it probably is too early Blush

Bluebell20 · 29/12/2015 10:18

Ellizardo, Cookies, and Beautician, thanks for the reassuring words, and Vikki you are right, I was exhausted and it was making everything seem worse.

That said, I have booked in for a Harmony test on Wednesday morning - I found somewhere near me that does it for £440 - and I feel like a huge weight has gone from my mind already. I have suffered badly from anxiety and obsessive thinking (in case you couldn't tell!!!!) in the past, and DH and I decided that this was the best thing to do to put me in the best frame of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. To be honest, I'm not totally sure what I would do if the Harmony did come back positive - but for me, I feel like it will just be better to know for sure (or as sure as I can be).

Mascara, does sound like old blood - if you are worried, ring the midwife?

MissClarke, I am thinking of you this morning, and I hope it all works out.

allthegood - hooray for 12 weeks!

Cheery, really sorry about your husband. That is very difficult. It is a stressful time with lots of unknowns, and that is bound to affect him. Is there anyone who is close to you who could come to appointments at short notice if your husband is too poorly?

Fivetoomany, thanks for the advice - nice to hear from the other side!

Mini, I'm sure all will be fine, but do ring your midwife this morning and get checked out.

Phewf, that was quite a catch-up. I'm 14 weeks today, and have finally told my extended family. My nan was absolutely thrilled :)

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 29/12/2015 10:23

We told my DH's extended family last night at our family party. It was lovely and they were all really pleased. His auntie cried Blush it will be the first baby of our generation in the family.

14+1

redstrawberries101 · 29/12/2015 10:28

Aw wow that's so lovely! I can't wait to tell my extended family but only will after scan..

Cheery1 · 29/12/2015 10:31

Will do kaytee!

bluebell - that's a good idea about having a back up person. DH really wants to be here for everything, he just gets so anxious which doesn't really help me! I've got brilliant godmothers so maybe I'll have a chat with them.

Lovely that families are so excited about all these little ones!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 29/12/2015 10:48

Anyone notice a difference in the way the family treat you after making the announcement? it's like I've assumed some sort of "sacred vessel"
status Hmmthey can't do enough for me! multiple cups of tea, feet up, if I even move a muscle to try and pick something up its all "no no sit down I'll get it for you! It's brilliant! I could get used to this kind of treatment although at some point it will probably become a bit overbearing

Bluebell20 · 29/12/2015 11:03

allthegood, no chance of that in my house! That said, I was at my nan's yesterday (when I was able to tell her the news in person), and she did make me the most fantastic packed dinner to take on the train home, with little sandwiches all cut up nicely, and lots of little snacky things in case I got the pregnant munchies (which of course I did). But she'd do that even if I weren't pregnant, because she's ace. :)

I also weighed myself on her scales while I was there - I've put on about two and a half kilos (5.5lbs) so far, which is about the max I think you're supposed to put on by this point, yikes!

redstrawberries101 · 29/12/2015 11:09

Thanks for the reminder bluebell, I'll weigh myself tonight too. I did jump on some scales and it looked like I had put on half a stone but they weren't my usual scales and I know they can vary. Half a stone is a lot! But I'm not going to worry too much

Kaytee1987 · 29/12/2015 11:34

Allthegood my mil was insisting that I couldn't clear up on christmas day in my own house. Went into my bedroom at one point and she pulled back the covers and literally tried to force me to get into bed Hmm. The next day when I was staying in bed late due to feeling sick and not wanting to socialise she kept coming in the bloody room without knocking. Which is it have I to rest or not!? Its nice for people to offer to do things for you but not to boss you about. Can you tell I'm still pissed off at myself for not saying anything?

MissClarke86 · 29/12/2015 11:42

Hi ladies. So I went for my second early scan today... still no clear answers, grr! They think they could see a heartbeat but too tiny to be sure, and sack hasn't grown much since last time. (3 days growth in 2 weeks). She says I'm "on the fence" and it's 50:50. Got to come back again in 2 weeks. It's not looking good. So fed up of it dragging out now would really rather just know!

Bluebell20 · 29/12/2015 11:54

How frustrating, MissClarke, that you have to wait another two weeks in limbo. We will be rooting for you. x

Ellizardo · 29/12/2015 12:13

Bluebell - good luck, reassurance is SUCH an important factor in all this.

I've just had 12 week scan and Harmony bloods back and all well plus we're having a little girl so absolutely thrilled! A little sister for Teddy. Also very low risk across all chromosomal disorders. Big relief!

Good luck to all those having scans and Missclark - I'm so sorry it's still so unclear. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Cheery - I do the booking in without DH too and it's quite nice to natter about stuff just you and the mw. Hoppe it went ok.

redstrawberries101 · 29/12/2015 12:23

Miss Clarke thinking of you loads and hat off for your remarkable strength.

Elizardo congratulations!'

redstrawberries101 · 29/12/2015 12:33

Kaytee - can totally relate, my mil can be very annoying but she has really surprised me. She hasn't said much to me except being over the moon when we told her but she has said a few things to DH which have really annoyed me. For example 'finally seen sense' I'm only bloody 26!!! And 'we won't be keeping a big gap between this and second baby' and 'we'll start shopping at 6 months'

Erm hello???? My body my baby my decisions. But like you, I get really frustrated but hate confrontation as it always comes out too blunt. I just let it go over my head but DH was quite chuffed when he was telling me!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 29/12/2015 13:04

kaytee that made me laugh out loud. Your MIL sounds like hard work.

bluebell that's so lovely of your grandma. I'm avoiding the scales after my Xmas pig out. Will get a few gym sessions in and then brave it in a couple of weeks to see what the damage is. Weirdly I got on the scales pre Xmas and I haven't put on a single pound since bfp but I definitely know my clothes have gotten tighter - there are literally only two work dresses I can wear anymore and in the mirror I look fatter. So I don't really trust the scales tbh

Eli congrats on the harmony results. I think you're the first of us to find out the gender. So exciting!

Bluebell20 · 29/12/2015 13:30

Congratulations Ellizardo! We've decided that we would like to find out the gender with the Harmony, too, so we could know a week on Friday :)

allthegood, maybe it's just bloat? I can't believe how much my tummy inflates and deflates day-to-day. I was ENORMOUS with wind the other night, and then fairly flat again in the morning! Last night, though, I thought that the teeny little bump that I do have had started to feel a bit hard, maybe...

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 29/12/2015 13:44

Cookies I have had heartburn on & off from really early. It mostly hits at night if I eat too late.

Allthegood I'm the same I like to be organised but also love a bargain. You must be pleased about your Asos freebies. My maternity wear arrived yesterday it's way too big at the moment. I'm disappointed. I think I should maybe have ordered the size down.

Five thank you for popping by & thank you for the advice. I did wonder about the heat in the third trimester. I have two may babies and just before I had my last May baby it was really hot and I was getting uncomfortable.

Mini it's probably nothing although I know worrying. It happened to me after dtd in my last pregnancy.

Missclarke so sorry you are still in limbo. I hope you get some answers soon.

Elli congratulations on the girl. My ds3 is a teddy. It was difficult choosing a name this time as Teddy is our favourite name. We have a girls name & a boys name as well as a few back ups in case it doesn't suit.

I'm willing today away. 24 hours until my scan. Eek.

12+5

Ellizardo · 29/12/2015 15:04

Beautician - good luck with scan tmw and how great you have a Teddy too! Is he Edward/Theodore or just full on Teddy?! Ours is Edward so that he can, ahem, mature into Ed if he wants but i think he'll always be Teddy to me!

The casual name game has started already! Overwhelmed by choices! Don't know why but feel we can take a few more risks with girls names!

Kaytee - buggy choices are mega personal, I wouldn't let anyone else choose. It So depends on your height, budget, environment, colour pref, storage capacity, design prefs etc. Any chance you can ask your DH to talk to yr mil and manage expectations?! It's not even a power thing, it's pure common sense that you should be the one choosing as you'll be the one using it majority of the time!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 29/12/2015 15:32

Elli he's just Teddy. He has three options when he's older Teddy, Ted or TJ.

I have fallen in love with the damson Babystyle Oyster I'm torn between that and a red Mamas & Papas Sola. A boy can be in a damson pram right ?

HopesAndDreams15 · 29/12/2015 17:20

MissClarke I'm sorry it wasn't the best news possible today but at least there's still hope, keeping fingers crossed for you.

Congratulations Elizardo!

I got my scan date through this morning for the 7th of Jan, nervous but excited! I can't wait to tell people, I feel like I'm bursting out if my clothes and can't hide it much longer.

HopesAndDreams15 · 29/12/2015 17:20

Beaut good luck for tomorrow! X

redstrawberries101 · 29/12/2015 17:27

Anyone else with a scan in the 8th?

Ellizardo · 29/12/2015 17:42

Beautician - TJ rocks! And a damson (is it like a deep red / purple?) pram is my 2nd choice after navy for buggy that would suit both sexes. Go for it!

Vickie360 · 29/12/2015 17:46

Hi Mel I've got a scan on the 8th I can't wait but I'm so nervous

redstrawberries101 · 29/12/2015 17:48

Vickieim so scared too but just want it to come and know either way! What time is yours? Mine is at 12.10 x
