Hi, here's my scan pic. Baby was upside down with arms up so can't see much.

kaytee - I read that the odds are less than 2% somewhere but it's your uterus so tell when you're ready! Dh and I were discussing this last night and think we're gonna tell people soon as most will have guessed anyway plus there could be issues at anytime so we feel easier if it's out there. Saying that this is second baby so people aren't going be that excited I don't think! Plus I'm showing a bit now too.

Cant remember who sorry but someone said about wanting a private scan but dh wanting to wait. Personally if you've got the cash I would recommend a private one as you get a much longer time to look at baby. Had one at 8+4 and we were there for half an hour and given loads of pics. Yesterday's NHS one was about 10mins.

Feeling really rubbish today, been awake since 5am and threw up as soon as I got up at 7. Flipping fed up of ms now Sad. Only one more full day of work tho.

Ah just checking in- so much chat and lots of lovely scan pics Smile just reading through properly now. Anyone else sick of Christmas?! I was so excited but shops and supermarkets (and a toddler) have taken all my Christmas spirit. Treating myself to a plate of everything I fancy. It's so naughty but so good. And mostly contains cheese...

Cheery1 · 22/12/2015 13:43

Cookies - tbh yes! Baking whilst wanting to vomit is not making me feel any more festive! I don't have the toddler to contend with too, hats off to all you ladies dealing with small children too.

Woodsy81 · 22/12/2015 16:55

Scan went well. Baby was waving its arms and legs around. Smile Dated at 12+6. Nuchal 1.5. Just need to wait for bloods now. Will hopefully get harmony ones back sooner. Here is a little pic.

Great pics woodsy and minie, great to see. I'd have a scan every day if I could.

Loki17 · 22/12/2015 17:15

Absolutely amazing scan pics everyone! Woodsy- are you finding out the sex? is 1.5 good? I'm not sure what it all means as I didn't have the nt done last time.

Woodsy81 · 22/12/2015 17:25

Loki, 1.5 is good but it really has to be in conjunction with bloods. The results of the harmony will tell us the sex. I am thinking its a wee boy though on gut instinct.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 22/12/2015 17:29

Lots of lovely scan pictures Smile

DH and I have been doing Christmas prep cooking today. We have made cranberry sauce, hot fudge sauce (for my dessert - everyone else is having boozy rum and raisin ice cream), and a lentil loaf thing for DH's main. Also marzipan-ed the Christmas cake. I'm knackered and there is still loads to do over the next couple of days.

I'm genuinely worried I won't feel like eating any of this Christmas food. I'm basically never hungry now. I manage to eat OK, but I don't really want it, and I don't especially enjoy it. I weighed myself today, and I haven't put on any weight at all. This is a good thing I suppose, as I was really overweight to start with.

Loki17 · 22/12/2015 17:32

Woodsy, I thought boy too! How exciting!

Loki17 · 22/12/2015 17:34

You and me I feel the same about food. Not sure I'm going to enjoy the food at all. Keep trying to eat but nothing seems appetising.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 22/12/2015 17:48

Ladies I've had a horrendous day. I'm planning to leave my job as I'm not making money and I don't have time to build up a clientele now. I've found another job but I was renting a room so I'm not sure the lady I rent from will let me out of the contract.

I fell down the stairs at work. Somersaulted down them. My head came down with a huge thump and I have two lumps on the back of my head. I've bruised all my side and my face but I'm pretty sure I didn't hit my tummy. I think bean is pretty visioned in there. The owner came downstairs along with the rest of the staff to see if I was ok. She said "you had better contact your midwife". I haven't told the owner I'm pregnant so I don't know how she guessed Sad

Cheery1 · 22/12/2015 17:52

Oh beautician - hugs to you. You must be really shaky. Sure you're ok, sounds like you took the brunt of the fall and baby protected. Definitely go and make sure you're ok though. Hope you've got someone to look after you this eve. Xxx

Loki17 · 22/12/2015 17:53

Beautician that is horrendous - I hope you are ok? you should have gone to A&E. In fact, you should still go now to get those bumps checked. Flowers

Hamsolo · 22/12/2015 18:35

Our scan went well today. Spot on date wise, 12 + 1. Such a relief. So lovely to see the other scan pics.

Our little bean was wriggling away. Scarcely kept still long enough for the sonographer to take measurements.

I'm looking forward to telling family over Christmas.

Beautician - that sounds like a terrible day. You're right, the baby will be very well protected in there, but maybe you should go and get yourself checked?

gnat99 · 22/12/2015 18:44

Beautician, sorry to hear about your fall - you protected baby, you need to look after yourself now!! You will probably feel shaky for quite a bit. Big hugs.

gnat99 · 22/12/2015 18:45

Woodsy and Hamsolo, great news about your scans! Lovely pics Smile

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 22/12/2015 18:52

Lovely scan photos!
beautician sorry to hear about your fall you should definitely get checked over just to be doubly sure all is ok. The shop owner doesn't seem like a very nice person. You could use the fall as a way to wangle yourself out of the contract earlier? At a push you could say the steep stairs are a health and safety risk - so she lets you out of the contract and you don't pursue a personal injury claim (which would hike up her insurance) Deal!

Bluebell20 · 22/12/2015 19:39

Beautician, that sounds awful. I'm absolutely sure you will be fine, but best to contact the midwife just in case. And make sure your partner keeps an eye on you for concussion - that sounds like a right clonker.

Woodsy, my baby's nuchal was 1.9 at 12+6, which the sonographer said she was happy with. My bloods are going to take ages to come back because of Christmas, are you in the same boat? They said if there was a problem they would ring me within 5 working days, but with two bank holidays that won't be until next Wednesday...

Mini and Ham, glad everything went well.

YouandMe, I'm gutted for you about the Christmas food. I'm so glad I'm over the icky sicky bit at the moment, because it's galling enough not being able to drink nice bubbly alcohol at Christmas - I'd be mega miffed if I was struggling to eat as well! That said, the babies will be worth it :)

I finally had my flu jab today. I am the world's worst with needles, but I went all on my own, and got it done, and didn't even feel faint once. I think it's the number of needles I've had in me over the last couple of months - maybe I'm getting used to it! Plus, I just lay there and thought about the little baby moving on the scan, and that made it feel absolutely fine :)

mascaraisamust · 22/12/2015 20:17

Beautician hope you're ok. What a shock.

Youandme, I know the feeling. Wondering how I'll sit at the table, the thought of eating just puts me right off.

Starting to feel guilty about my food choices and lack of nutrients. Everything healthy I just can't hack! Tried a yoghurt and had to stop, mcdonalds went down a treat though at lunch (been thinking about having it for 48 hours and I and to go get one) and had currant teacakes with cheese again for tea with a banana (if you couldn't tell how much I enjoyed this last night). So I am eating, just not well and I'm struggling to fancy any foods in particular. Hopefully it's just a passing phase. Really going to try be good over the next few days.

minieggaddict · 22/12/2015 20:31

Lovely pics and glad all ok for all the recent scans Smile. Our nuchal measurement was 1.5and they said we'll get a call within 48 hrs if a problem so only another 24 to go.

Beautician - Oww! That sounds painful. Hope your boss is helpful and you're not injured.

I'm also not a fan of food at the mo. FIL does a fry up on Xmas morning but usually late and I've had to say no. Just the thought turns my stomach. Gonna struggle with eating late too. The only thing I really want at the mo is cheese sarnies, s&v Pringles, sweets and Cadburys choc. Baby must want carbs and energy!

wantingno2 · 22/12/2015 21:41

lovely scan pics ladies. beautician you should definitely get checked out but I'm sure baby is fine it must of been very worrying for you though I hope your okay x

Kaytee1987 · 22/12/2015 21:45

Aw beautician you poor soul, that must have been horrible Sad l definitely think baby is very well cushioned but no harm in getting checked out, even the bumps for your own health.

We had our scan this evening and it was amazing, I can't believe how emotional it was. Baby was kicking it's wee legs and very strong heartbeat which we got to hear!!! I was really tearful when we left and DH was grinning like a 5 year old in a toy shop. Got a bit over excited and texted about 15 friends as well as telling the rest of the family. Sonographer said that with a good heartbeat and measurements like that that there's only a 1% chance of miscarriage now. I've realised just how anxious I must have been before the scan now because of the enormous relief and excitement I'm feeling now.

Loki17 · 22/12/2015 21:55

DH and I have just been to see the new Star Wars film whilst dd has a sleepover at my mums. My mum doesn't realise it but the real reason for the sleep over is because I have my early scan in the morning. I'm excited and scared. Had a little cry yesterday because I just feel so anxious. If all goes well, I get to tell my dd she is going to be a big sister tomorrow. Will be sleeping with my fingers and toes crossed tonight!
10+4

Woodsy81 · 23/12/2015 00:21

Bluebell, yes they said it would be up to 5 working days. She said if I haven't received a phone call by next Tuesday I can assume I am low risk. The Harmony results should be due around the same time I think.
Told MIL tonight. Was kinda dreading it. The first thing she did after getting a little emotional was tell us all about her scans and the horrific experience when she gave birth to her daughter. HmmI kept trying to drop in little hints about what had happened at our scans etc but she kept interrupting and referring back to herself. She didn't even ask how I was keeping. Angry I don't know what else I expected really. Just wish my own mum was closer. Don't like to be mean. Just need to vent.
