Mini, so glad it went well! It feels nice to be bumped forward, doesn't it?! It feels like cheating, though...!

mascaraisamust · 21/12/2015 20:07

Enjoy Loki!

Jem01 · 21/12/2015 20:34

YouAndMe - sorry to hear u have sciatica, sounds painful, like we don't have other crap to deal with! What helps ease the discomfort? And congrats being in the 2nd trimester how many are in 2nd now?

SashaKerr - welcome! Sorry to hear about your past miscarriages. Fingers crossed this one sticks. I understand about not feeling calm until a few months down the line. I've had scans since 8 weeks because I've had bleeding. It does help seeing baby is OK after each one. As everyone says there's lots of support on here, we're a friendly chatty bunch!

foobio & Bluebell20 lovely scan pics!:-)

Gx91 - I was told to empty my bladder for my scans..

My scan went well today , they could still see blood by sac so I know where bleeding is coming from. Baby's hands were covering face, so so sweet! I'm not off work for xmas break until early Jan hooray! Really looking forward to Christmas now.

Jem01 · 21/12/2015 20:35

Jem01 · 21/12/2015 20:36

That should be woops! Oh dear think I should stop posting now..!

Woodsy81 · 21/12/2015 20:38

Fab scan pic Bluebell. Glad all went well. Smile we are due on the same day - unless they move my dates again at the scan tomorrow. Pretty sure they are correct at the moment.

Vikkijayne2507 · 21/12/2015 20:54

Pinseyboo38 · 21/12/2015 20:59

Such lovely scan pics on here today. Cheery1 yes this is my first and at 38 nearly 39 I'm feeling like time is running out. Trying to stay positive and coming on here reading all the great posts definitely helps with that.
I didn't think I was having any cravings until I realised I have had some kind of cheese toasty every day for the last 6 days lol

Kaytee1987 · 21/12/2015 21:12

Feels like everyone is having scans this week in time for Christmas Xmas Grin
I can't help noticing that a lot of the rest of this website is full of utter ar*eholes that seem to like picking an argument with anyone and everyone about absolutely anything. Seriously thinking about cancelling my account, a lot of it is quite poisonous Sad

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 21/12/2015 21:30

kaytee don't let the actions of a few spoil the experience for you they're a small minority and the majority are supportive and kind. Within a large group of people (millions in the case of MN) there will always be those who are so miserable in their own lives they become jaded and bitter and unnecessarily snipe at others in nasty little ways. Just take the high road keep your head up and stay positive Thanks

crazycatlady39 · 21/12/2015 21:48

Hey so glad to see all the scan pics. I am off for a private one tomorrow so I can tell family at xmas all being well. I'll be 9+3 for it. Booking appt 2 Jan at 8.30am (just as well we can't drink to celebrate new year eh?!) and 12wk scan on 15 Jan where I'll be 12+6. I have felt pukey but not been sick at all, very sensitive sense of smell, sore boobs, cramps almost gone. Spotty and bloated and feeling fat. I want the scan to 'prove' something is definitely there! It's my first and am 39 so bit concerned about my age, but trying not to worry about things and take one day at a time.

Loki17 · 21/12/2015 22:34

Couldn't keep my pizza down.Xmas Sad I never had any sickness with dd, just the odd feeling of nausea and a funny turn at about 10 weeks when I felt faint and sick. This time I've had nausea from before af was due. Been retching with some vomiting from about 5 weeks and now, at 10+3, I'm vomiting after every time I eat. It has gotten worse over the last 4 days and today has been the worst. Starting to seriously think there might be more than one. I was 27 when I was pg with dd and I'm 32 now. I wonder if that has something to do with it too? BTW Vikki, those pictures are amazing!

gnat99 · 21/12/2015 23:13

Hi everyone, we had our private scan yesterday, so happy! Sorry only reporting back now, we stopped for scan en route to the in-laws for Christmas so it's been quite busy and exhausting, but also very exciting and overwhelming...

Everything was OK, there was definitely a little person in there, quite active, kicking around and waving. So relieved! And DH so overwhelmed. All looked normal, so now we just need to wait for the blood results, fingers crossed they will come back before Christmas. The dates have stayed exactly the same according to this scan, so I'm still 7th July for now. We have our nhs scan on 5th January so perhaps things will change then.

So lovely to finally start sharing the news with family. Haven't told mine yet, we are staying with them for New Year, so we'll wait to tell them in person.

Thanks for sharing all your news and stories. Lovely to see all the other scans, congratulations all! I haven't posted mine as all the images are in another room and I am simply too shattered to move.

Loki, sorry to hear you are so sick. My nausea started to really improve about a week ago - am 11+4 now. Came back a bit this weekend, think due to tiredness and stress about scan, but has lessened again. Hope yours does soon!

Beautician, I'm so glad to hear you feel the same as me. Things are a bit better now for me, mainly since I am mostly prepared for Christmas now, we have one journey behind us, and we are both less tense since the scan. But if he has one more whisky with his dad tonight. I will kick him out of bed for snoring Wink Good luck hanging on till 30th for scan. Christmas with kids should distract you nicely. Scan will be a nice New Year present!

Youandme, congratulations on being in second trimester!

Right, really need sleep now. Have been staying up trying to be polite, but really have been falling asleep for the past two hours. Night night all. Good luck to all those with scans this week.

11+4

Bluebell20 · 22/12/2015 07:55

Oh girlies, I've just found out that one of my good friends who lives abroad (but is moving back to the UK) is also pregnant, 17 weeks - how much fun?!

Glad the other scans went well :) And nice to have a due date buddy, Woodsy!

Woodsy81 · 22/12/2015 08:12

Finish at work today for 2 weeks. Can't wait. Have my scan this afternoon. Looking forward to seeing our little button again.
13 weeks today. Smile

gnat99 · 22/12/2015 08:35

Enjoy your scan Woodsy - 13 weeks, that's exciting!

Cheery1 · 22/12/2015 09:00

Good luck with scan today Woodsy! Can't wait to see pics

Oooof this pregnancy lark is a roller coaster! I felt great yesterday but woken up today feeling sick and exhausted, I have so much to do today but just about managed to get dressed so far (well into joggers which doesn't count really). Got lots of baking to do as well, which doesn't fill me with joy Xmas Confused. Then drive on my own to Bristol tomorrow to my bonkers cousin's - where I'm not sure I'll even be sleeping in a bed. Bah Humbug! I just want to lie on the sofa and watch netflix. Rant over!

Hope everyone else is feeling ok today x

Cheery1 · 22/12/2015 09:01

Forgot to put dates!
11+3

Cheery1 · 22/12/2015 09:05

P.S. Gnat - delighted for you that all went well! Brilliant news x

redstrawberries101 · 22/12/2015 09:35

Really exciting seeing everybody's pics!!! It's my first and so I've only really seen friends pics but they haven't been as clear as the ones posted on here! It really is a miracle.

Beginning to panic a little bit as I feel like I'm getting carried away now, just want scan to be here quickly so I can relax a bit. My last scan was at 6 weeks so a good while away. Would ideally like to go for a private scan as NHS one is not till 8th Jan (2 weeks on Friday) but hubby is saying he just wants to wait for that :(

On a positive note, I'm 10 weeks today! Another milestone Smile

Now just to get through the next 2 weeks 3 days...

Cheery1 · 22/12/2015 10:00

Hang in there Mel, it'll be here before you know it x

wantingno2 · 22/12/2015 10:18

I'm 10 weeks today to melvali I've got my scan on the 7th of Jan it feels like ages away my little boys birthday is on the 3rd of January and I'm moving house on the 31st of Jan gosh I've got a lot going on haha. Glad to hear everyone's scan's went good the pics are amazing mine looked like a little blob but that was at 7+2 feels ages ago now.

gnat99 · 22/12/2015 10:35

Thanks Cheery, good luck getting through today and tomorrow.

10 weeks today Melvali, congrats! All milestones are worth celebrating Smile

I'm about to watch The Borrowers with DH's niece.

11+5

Kaytee1987 · 22/12/2015 11:04

BlueBell that's so nice you have a friend that's pregnant. One of my friends is trying just now and last month her period was 6 days late (how cruel) but she wasn't :(

Does anyone know the likelihood of miscarriage if you have a successfull scan at 9 weeks? I've seen figures somewhere I'm sure. My husband wants to tell everyone after scan today (agw) but I feel like we should only tell the rest of the family and a handful of close friends (he has a huge family as it is). I don't really want a Facebook style announcement anyway as I feel it makes you 'public property' and feel I would like to just tell friends and acquaintances as and when I see them.

Cheery1 · 22/12/2015 11:55

kaytee think odds are pretty low of mc after healthy 9 wk scan (2%, something like that). BUT if you don't feel ready to tell everyone don't. It's so lovely that your DH is so excited about the baby, but I think its so difficult for men to understand the pressure we feel in pregnancy. If you need time, explain that to him. Personally I'm not going to go public, all being well, until we're into 2nd trimester. It's not totally real to me (even after scan) and I think I need a bit more time to adjust.

Anyway, go with your gut instinct and sure you'll know what's right for you.
