Congrats on the 2nd trimester youandme and congrats to all those with positive scans/photos

For the last couple of days I've had some weird tummy flutters on my left side. It only lasts a few seconds and feels a bit like light tapping /rippling on my skin (on the inside if that makes sense) it doesn't hurt of anything just a fluttery feeling. I know it's far too soon to feel the baby move but it's still freaking me out a bit as not quite sure what it is. I'm pretty sure it's not gas as its unlike anything I've ever felt before. Anyone else getting any weird sensations?

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 21/12/2015 15:55

I've had something very similar sounding a few times allthegood. I don't think it's wind because I've had plenty of wind Blush and it doesn't feel the same. It feels a bit like a muscle twitch.

I know at this stage it's not likely to be the baby - my understanding is that you don't feel first babies until much later. They say you can feel subsequent ones a lot earlier, is that just because you know what to expect?

mascaraisamust · 21/12/2015 17:19

Eugh headache today and yesterday. What to have for tea... Literally nothing appeals. Lovely scan photos guys.

Kaytee1987 · 21/12/2015 17:45

Mascara I'm having plain pasta with egg cooked through it. Can't stomach meat just now.
The past couple of days I've had a bit of diarrhea (sorry tmi) as well as the sickness and literally had to run through the door to make it to the bathroom there. Is this normal in early pg or have I maybe got a bug?

Loki17 · 21/12/2015 17:53

I've been sick at least twice a day for the last four days. It has progressed from wretching and bringing up bile every morning with the occasional hurling in the evening, to literally puking up part of every meal. I can't face anything unless it is crisps or pizza. I'm hoping feeling this awful is a good sign and I'm trying hard not to feel sorry for myself!

Bluebell20 · 21/12/2015 18:07

The scan was amazing. Will post more, and a pic, later, but just wanted you to know that it went well!

Gx91 · 21/12/2015 18:17

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 21/12/2015 18:20

Woodsy thanks. Yes hopefully it passes soon.

Allthegood I have felt a few flutters now and again. But this is my fourth. I didn't feel anything for ages with ds1.

Mascara I'm having a cheese and onion pasty. Yet another super healthy craving Hmm

Loki here's me moaning at just feeling sick. Hope it clears for you soon. They do say that Ms usually improves after 12 weeks.

Bluebell glad it went well. I'm so impatient waiting for mine. I seek to be getting more and more worked up each day with nerves. Remember to update the stats thread if your due date has changed.

DH is out tonight so I'm thinking tea, bit of wrapping, bath and bed.

Cheery1 · 21/12/2015 18:29

Bluebell that's great news! Can't wait to see the pic!

So sorry to all you ladies with horrible morning sickness.

G - I drank too much water! The monographer said "my that's a very full bladder" and couldn't see anything! I had to go for a big wee. Upside was, think baby was so delighted having some space, it was bouncing about all over the place! I think just a needing a wee a bit is about right probably rather than hopping around desperate! Sorry you've felt low. A big cry is sometimes necessary. I lost my Mum when I was 18 and I'm really missing her at the moment - so I sobbed my way through a carol service last night, thankfully it was candlelit so no-one noticed. Hugs to you x

Beautician - mmmmm pasties…..

Cheery1 · 21/12/2015 18:31

P.S. Mel - my friend was really sick with both her pregnancies and said sensodyne was on toothpaste that didn't make her gag - worth a try maybe…?

mascaraisamust · 21/12/2015 18:34

Ok so tea consisted of:
A clementine
A pack of cheese and onion crisps
Two currant teacakes with cheese melted on - they were amazing!

I want more currant teacakes with cheese on. Surely I should stop after two... I drove around three shops trying to think of what I fancied and that's what I came away with in the end. Poor DH isn't going to be impressed with a sandwich for tea...

I've been so lucky as ive only been sick once, had a few waves of nausea today, tends to be when I get hungry though. Trying to up my water intake to shift the headaches. So thirsty on a night!

Glad to hear your went well bluebell!

Cheery1 · 21/12/2015 18:35

Urm that would be sonographer - what's a monographer anyway!

mascaraisamust · 21/12/2015 18:36

Ive heard certain vitamins can make you feel sick, since ive stopped the omega 3 on the pregnacare Ive felt much better. I'd gag at taking them for a start.

Cheery1 · 21/12/2015 18:40

That's interesting mascara, the omega 3 really repeats on me (TMI), and really can't stomach anything strongly fishy at the mo.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 21/12/2015 18:46

That's fab news bluebell

youandme it's very odd but it's reassuring to know someone else is feeling it too - must be one of these weird pregnancy things.

beautician I've totally got a craving for cheese and onion pasties as well. I find myself having them for breakfast all the time now Blush I had to my local Tesco in the morning to pick it up and find myself getting irrationally angry if they haven't baked any yet. Wish there was a greggs nearby sigh. Talking about it makes me want it for dinner now but hubby already has salmon in the oven

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 21/12/2015 19:09

Cheery I drank too much water too! The sonographer sent me to the loo, and then afterwards she said "oh your bladder is a bit empty now!" I don't know what she was expecting me to do - stop halfway through?!

I'm jealous of everyone's brilliant scan pictures - mine are really not that great. I think being overweight makes it harder to get a really clear picture. The sonographer didn't seem to have much trouble seeing what she needed to see, and I guess that's the main thing.

Bluebell20 · 21/12/2015 19:15

Thanks for the congrats, everyone! I was half convinced it wouldn't be okay, so I was stunned when it came up on the screen! It was so incredible... Moving around, waving its arms, touching its face and stretching its legs. We saw the heart beating away, too.

It measured 12+6, moving me on 4 days, which is quite possible because I have irregular cycles and the dates had been based on a 28 day cycle. So I'm now due on the 28th June - will update stats thread - but please let me stay here!!!

Nuchal measurement was good, just got to wait for bloods - which could take ages due to the bank holidays. If there is a problem we won't know for over a week, but hey ho.

It was such a lovely experience. I can't believe all that is going on inside me!

Bluebell20 · 21/12/2015 19:23

Oh and Cheery, I lost my mum at 19 and know just what you mean. I would love to be sharing all this with her.

Gx, I drank a pint and a half of water an hour before the scan, as instructed. It wasn't uncomfortable but I was very happy to go for a wee after! But I am used to holding on for the loo, being a teacher... You can't go when you want to!

minieggaddict · 21/12/2015 19:28

Hi everyone. Very relieved to report that scan went well..baby was on their head with arms covering face! They've put me forward a whole week so I'm now 13 weeks yay! I stopped feeling ill around 14 weeks last time so hoping I feel better soon. Currently in bed as felt awful all day. Edd now 27th June. I can finally get excited Xmas Smile

Scase1firsttimemum · 21/12/2015 19:34

I have had some flutters and what feels like pressure being pressed against my stomach from the inside, it like moves across (not from left to right, just in certain spots) and then stops, Im hoping its the baby or else I dont know what to think :L!

I am becoming quite big and starting to worry I have twins!! This is my first baby (or babies) so if its twins thats going to be quite nerve racking!! Scan 5th January so all will be revealed! I took a photo of my belly and everyone is saying Im definitely further along or I have 2 haha... Confused

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 21/12/2015 19:34

Bluebell aww another fab scan photo. Of course you can stay here we wouldn't want you to go.

Mini glad your scan went well too. Hope you feel better soon

Scase1firsttimemum · 21/12/2015 19:35

What an amazing scan photo as well! Glad all is well with the baby, and how amazing to see it moving on the screen Smile

OP posts:
mascaraisamust · 21/12/2015 19:36

Such amazing pictures. My 9 week one still looks like a little blob, it's amazing how much it progresses in just a few weeks! The best bit is watching DHs face in amazement Smile can't wait for my 12 (14 Hmm week) scan...

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 21/12/2015 19:55

Aww Mini same due date as me! I need to update myself on the stats thread.

Loki17 · 21/12/2015 19:57

Love seeing and hearing about the scans! Congratulations all! I spent most of the day doing the pre- christmas clean up and im knackered now. DHis out for the night and dd is in bed, so I have ordered a pizza and I'm drinking lemonade from a wine glass.Grin I'm hoping I can avoid another puke episode and just enjoy having control of the remote!
