Got through eventually and they told me to come in so I'm waiting now. Got ticked off for not carrying my notes around with me, oops!!

Will update once I know what's happening.

Trinpy · 30/11/2015 18:06

Hope everything's ok, maybe. Its definitely always worth getting checked out if something's worrying you.

I waited in all day for my parcels (black friday stuff) to arrive, finally gave up at 4 and popped out for a quick walk with ds and of course they tried to deliver everything then Angry. I want my new changing bag!!!

gemsparkle84 · 30/11/2015 18:21

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the newbies and waving to everyone xx
Maybe my baby girl is exactly the same, I was a bit worried last week as had a couple of days where she barely moved, but the past couple of days she hasn't stopped. I didn't ring my unit but only because I had a midwife appointment on the Friday and waited. Part of me dreaded it when she said she would listen to baby's heartbeat, she was so excited and I thought oh here we go but her heart was pounding away and then she did a couple of huge kicks!!! She said up to 28 weeks 10 movements a day is perfect but if i was are concerned to give her a ring or the hospital. Try to manage your worries but if you really are concerned give the midwife or hospital a call.

Missi I'm so pleased to hear Zach is getting stronger it sounds like you're both doing great. Do they weigh him regularly? I just wondered what kind of weight he was putting on.

Can I ask you ladies if you have had any experience of breast lumps? I went for an ultrasound a few weeks ago because of a lump and the Dr said it was a cyst but it doesn't stop me worrying.

Hope all is well with everyone xx

ThePug · 30/11/2015 18:26

Fingers crossed you get seen soon and they find baby snuggled up asleep somewhere maybe My midwife said the same as others, there can still be quiet days at the moment but after 28 weeks to definitely contact them if something doesn't seem right. She said they much prefer having phonecalls saying someone hasn't felt baby for a few hours rather than those where they say they haven't felt them for 2-3 days, where they then dread the outcome as it may be too late.

ginger sorry you're still feeling rough. Have they checked your blood sugar levels/ glucose in your urine (or ketones) now? Just what you say about being so tired would be another potential symptom of high blood sugar... Hope the doctors can figure out what, if anything, is going on and either medicate it or put your mind at rest soon. Can't be any fun all those trips to the loo!

Me congratulations on your iCandy purchase Grin I looked at them but the handle was a bit too chunky for my little hands. Lovely looking system though. What colour did you get?

maybebabybee · 30/11/2015 19:20

All fine! Listened to baby's heartbeat and he is fine. They were a bit dismissive to be honest but I keep having that experience with midwives.

Thanks for keeping me company in my silly worries :)

gemsparkle84 · 30/11/2015 19:27

That's great Maybe xx

ThePug · 30/11/2015 19:34

Great news maybe

IndomitabIe · 30/11/2015 19:34

Paper, glad you're feeling ok. Keep resting!

Hi Mondino! Glad you're feeling better. I'm on #2 and final too, but due 23rd.

Beautiful bump, Crispy!

Oh, an hour in the NHM, Marmite! Sounds like bliss! (I love it there but live far too far away). Glad you got bumped to first class!

Glad the docs sent a sample off, Ginger. Have you spoken to the doc about the pink sick? If not, ring now and see what they say. Try to take it easy if you can. Look after yourself.

Missi, so glad to hear Zach is doing well! Glad to hear you sounding positive too. It must be harder than you're letting on. x

Glad all is fine, Maybe. x

TheMshipIsBack · 30/11/2015 20:05

maybe glad you got checked out and all is well. Bet you get kicked hard all night now Grin Though it's too bad the midwives appeared dismissive - please don't let that put you off calling again if you're ever worried!

shieldbug · 30/11/2015 21:06

gem A few months after having ds1 I felt a lump in my left boob. Tbh, I thought it was trapped milk and didn't worry, but the gp referred me to the boob clinic pretty sharp. Luckily, like you, it was found to be just a cyst. They drained it there and then using a fine needle and I've never had any bother since. A cyst is completely ok and was quite a relief compared to other outcomes. It's amazing what the body can cope with; as I may have mentioned (just a few times!) I have 3 massive fibroids (benign lumps on the uterus), the biggest of which is currently nearly 12cm diameter. That's one whopping tumour, and one of the others isn't much smaller, but I don't really worry about them; they're just growths I happen to have. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that lumps and bumps don't have to be scary, but if you are still concerned, could you ask for the cyst to be drained?

maybe so glad everything is ok. You did the sensible thing in getting checked, even if the mws weren't entirely sympathetic.

missi good news that the feeding is going well. Zach is brilliant!

Ginger red in sick really doesn't sound right (unless you are living on a diet of tomatoes and strawberries!) and you really should tell your gp/mws/ out of hours dr. Hopefully it will turn out to be perfectly normal, but better to get checked. Please?

Poor ds1 has a temperature at the moment and is going to miss his nativity play tomorrow. I'm gutted for him and for me as I was so looking forward to seeing it. poor love, all he wants to do is sleep. Just waiting for the rest of us to come down with whatever it is now.

neh205 · 30/11/2015 22:07

Welcome newbies!

missi totally welling up here ! So lovely to see Zach, thank you for sharing with us. Congrats on his arrival and gorgeous name. He sounds like a fighter and super impressed he is breathing on his own already. Well done little man! Hugs to you both.

Itching still driving me mad! Had a blood sample taken last week so waiting on results.

Infuriated by midwives at the moment. I've been calling every day for 2 weeks re itching, had to go via doctor for blood sample in the end. I want to change hospitals but cant get hold of the midwife at all. She is only in one or two days a week and I say days put sounds like she pops in at random hours whenever she feels like it. My next appointment is a week late so hoping I don't miss the cut off for changing hospitals. .. grrr feeling do annoyed at the moment ! rant over

In happier updates mu friends have organised date for my baby shower - very exciting!

Hope all the home improvements go well girls.

ginger Maybe and paper hope you are all feeling better soon.

Sleep well tonight one and all!

neh205 · 30/11/2015 22:08

Excuse all the spelling mistakes! Tiredness has hit!

Me624 · 30/11/2015 22:36

maybe glad all was well.

No worries here as my little one has been going absolutely crazy tonight. He was quite quiet over the weekend though!

Pug we've gone for truffle, it's one of the new colours!

gemsparkle84 · 30/11/2015 22:49

I think that's what's wrong with with me shieldbug she said it was very small and they would drain it if it became any bigger. It hasn't been drained so with my ongoing anxiety issues I'm like "what if what if". My CBT therapist would go mental at me for seeking advice on here 😂 I can't win!

Neh205 one of my preggo friends (2nd pregnancy) had terrible itchiness through her 1st and it has come back... She says the only thing that helps is E45 ITCH cream xx

Missdee2014 · 30/11/2015 23:41

Missi so glad to see Zach is doing well Smile

Maybe I also have an anterior placenta and have had reduced movement on and off. I wasn't concerned tbh as I knew about the anterior placenta but I said to my mw last week and she told me under no uncertain terms should I go to bed worried about movement and if in any doubt to call and be checked over. I had pink spotting also a few weeks ago and again yesterday, that along with little movement over the weekend made me call the maternity unit this morning to be checked. Needless to say when I was put on the monitor they struggled initially to get a regular heartbeat cos the wee bissum was moving about so much (not that I could feel it but it could be heard quite easily lol) was monitored for 20/30 mins and all was perfectly fine. Had some swabs done for the pink spotting/discharge and the doc suspects I could have a touch of thrush so I'm home with treatment for that Sad. That's rubbish you felt dismissed, our unit is genuinely fab, so reassuring. She did ask right enough of this was my first baby, when I said 3rd she followed by saying I obviously knew what was normal and what wasn't and I think she took me seriously as a result.

Can't scroll back to see who asked but I went for the silvercross wayfarer in chilli red with graphite trim and chassis Grin

maybebabybee · 01/12/2015 09:19

Well you were all right as I was punched for most of the night last night - he was going mad in there!

The midwife was nice enough I suppose, they're just not very friendly and they make you feel silly for worrying...she didn't say I'd done the right thing by coming in or anything, just ticked me off for not having my notes, listened to heartbeat for a minute and then said at this stage of gestation as long as I'm feeling one or two movements a day it's fine.

My MH issues mean that I can be very thin-skinned though so I do need to watch myself for being over-sensitive!

hayleycookie · 01/12/2015 10:07

Lol maybe your baby is playing games with you! I'm thin-skinned too, but you gotta put your baby before everything else so sod what they think!

I'm feeling so grotty today! DS1 was off of pre-school yesterday with a rotten cough and runny nose, but was fine in himself. I kept him off though, and he's home again today with the same. I wish parents wouldn't send their children into school sick. His ''teacher'' said there were 7 other children off sick yesterday too! I can't tell if I have his cold, or if I'm reacting to the flu jab. Achey joints, sore throat, heavy head and soooo tired! The day is dragging already. Can't wait for DH to get home so I can hoepfully sneak a nap or at least a bath in!

Hope everyone is managing to stay away from the bugs going around! Happy 1st of December!! I hope you all have advent calendars to tuck into!

TheMshipIsBack · 01/12/2015 10:09

maybe Babies are so contrary! I'm sorry to hear the midwife didn't seem to take you seriously. It is a good idea to start hauling your notes about, though. Especially if you're experiencing anxiety, if you feel unwell, it's reassuring to know you have your info with you and that you'll be treated appropriately. You can get a largish plastic envelope thing to put the folder in (like these ones) so nothing falls out and it all stays dry.

ThePug · 01/12/2015 10:26

I've got to get a (7am!) train to London tomorrow for the day and won't be home til 6pm.... wondering if I should lug my notes around? They are massive (wouldn't fit in one of those folders Mship , they're too fat already!) and heavy and don't fit in my laptop bag, which is what's putting me off taking them. Just put them on the kitchen scales; they weigh almost a kilogram!

Me Nice! Our friends have a truffle iCandy for their 3 month old, it's very stylish!

shield that's such a shame about DS's nativity. Is there only one performance? I seem to remember as a kid doing a couple to allow parents maximum opportunity to get there.

Hope all the DC (and mums!) are feeling ok today. This weather really doesn't help though, does it.

vroc81 · 01/12/2015 11:24

Maybe glad everything was ok in the end, and I havent taken to carrying my noted around yet - the only reason they have been with me for the last two days is because our hospital seems incapable of answering the phone in about 3 of the departments... I don't think it bodes well for the giving birth bit I'll have done it on the hall carpet and still be on hold....

Hope everyone that is feeling rubbish starts to feel better soon!

I wrapped some Christmas presents last night - never before I have been this organised and it will go to pot soon whats happened to me?!

JoannaZZ · 01/12/2015 11:32

Hi ladies, sorry I'm such a rare visitor on here these days! Hope it's ok that I pop in once in a while...

Just caught up with the Flump (now Zach!) adventure, great news that you are both doing well missy. We're all so lucky to live in an age with developed medicine so babies like Zach can be properly taken care of.

I'm 26+3 now and my little girl is doing martial arts in there almost constantly. I worried that she's moving around too much but the midwife says that I can probably just feel the movements more than most. Other than that, not much to report.

Can't believe it's December already!

TheMshipIsBack · 01/12/2015 11:43

pug holy cow, that is a massive folder! I think mine's only 30 or so pages and can't weigh more than half a pound. Lugging an extra kg around doesn't sound appealing at all - can't blame you for not wanting to do it yet!

vroc wrapping presents sounds so Christmassy. We started DS's advent calendar this morning. It's a wooden truck (like this one but with different painting) that I painted and decorated this fall. It was so much fun, and he's just been obsessed with getting his hands on it. We put a sticker and a cheap little toy (e.g. finger puppet) behind each door.

Is anyone else with older DCs taking them out to buy presents for their other parent? This is the first year DS has been old enough to be interested, we were thinking just a £10 budget each and we'd help him wrap.

Rosieblossom123 · 01/12/2015 11:44

Joanna I'm 26+2 and I was telling DP the same thing yesterday, she's kicking me like mad and sometimes I worry it's a sign of distress but DP said that I'm just panicking which is probably true haha

ThePug · 01/12/2015 12:12

Mship - yeah, they're ridiculously big! It has all the pages already in for the post-birth stuff, then I have a whole subfolder inside for all my diabetes clinic notes. There is a picture of a cute baby on the front though (I wonder who it is!) which is nice, rather than just a plain coloured folder.

Lovely idea to take DS shopping for a present for his dad... Are you going to give him free reign on what to choose, or try to steer him in a sensible direction?!

Rosie & joanna - the obstetrician told me a wriggly baby is a healthy baby. If they aren't active (and that doesn't mean if you can't feel them, more if everytime they scan they are never moving) that is the concern. My SiL had DN at 32 weeks after her placenta failed, and she's been telling me she never felt him move much at all and on the scans he was always pretty still. He's just turned 3 and is absolutely fine though before anyone panics!

vroc81 · 01/12/2015 12:23

MShip loving the advent truck! Oh I am soo looking forward to things I can pretend to buy for her but secretly its for me!! We have advent pockets, mostly just put chocolates in them although I did find my engagement ring in the 24th some years ago now... Just bought DN another Christmas present online as may have spoilt him somewhat last year and his first birthday and any visits to their house or him to ours and got the guilts that focusing on baby stuff for black friday etc I might have neglected him I hadnt and hes 18 months so like he'll notice anyway..

MY DSis is planning on getting a present from him for his dad this year (really hope his dad remembers to do the same) so I think its a nice idea to get older DCs out to get a little present for the other parent.
