Hello all newbies and welcome Grin

Also suffering from itchy bump here, been using Palmers on it which seems to help. My old stretch marks are looking a bit more obvious at the moment, I fully expect my stretch marks to get stretch marks, given how fast I'm growing Confused

thepug not sure where you are but we're SE so prob more expensive than elsewhere. our plumber is charging us for a days labour which is £350. We then have to get the radiators oursevles whcih we just got from screwfix. For a days labour we are replacing a radiator on our bathroom which is leaking, removing a radiator from our bedroom and replacing it with two separate radiators elsewhere in our bedroom.

Had an absolutely knackering Sunday travelling to London to see friends who have just had a baby nearly three weeks ago. He was so cute! We popped into the natural history museum beforehand with DD for an hour to entertain her, which added on travelling time/being on my feet and my back is killing me today. Bonus on the way home was the train was packed and I was told that as I was pregnant we could sit in first class! Was very chuffed!

Trinpy · 30/11/2015 10:24

Ooh Missdee, which pram did you get?

Glad you're feeling a bit better now Paper.

Welcome to the new people and congratulations on your pregnancies Smile.

maybebabybee · 30/11/2015 11:44

Baby has been a bit quiet for the past couple of days...definitely felt movement but a bit less. Should I worry? I have major anxiety so don't want to overreact but everything I read on the internet re: reduced movement terrifies me.

Am 26 weeks tomorrow so I guess he hasn't settled into a regular pattern yet?

hayleycookie · 30/11/2015 12:04

I wouldn't worry yet Maybe. There is still plenty of space for baby to ''hide'' so less movements would be felt. They also don't have a proper routine yet so they may have changed their wake patterns which would also mean a change in their movements. I'd say as long as you are still feeling some kind of movement and there are no other symptoms then you should be fine :)

vroc81 · 30/11/2015 12:58

Maybe I have had the same at the end of last week, subjected her to a can of cold coke which woke her up... but then the way my internal organs have been taking a pounding yesterday and this morning I think she might just have been moving around while she still has the room to.. I'm not feeling much forwards - dont know if this is because I have an anterior placenta and fat or just because my bladder is more bouncy fun?

Missi Zach is gorgeous, he also looks like he has long legs for someone so small?! hope the nappy change and wash went well, I was thinking about you over the weekend.

Welcome to all the newbies!

TheMshipIsBack · 30/11/2015 13:02

I'm about the same maybe, and I agree with hayley. Have you done the cold & fizzy drink and lie down on your left side for an hour with no distractions?

maybebabybee · 30/11/2015 13:14

TheMship no not done cold fizzy drink but can't really do til this evening anyway as am at work.

Had a bar of chocolate - that did nothing. He did move a bit while I was eating lunch just now but not loads.

TheMshipIsBack · 30/11/2015 13:35

maybe That's good you felt some movement at lunch. But you know, if you're concerned, give your midwife a ring. They don't mind, they're always saying stuff like they'd rather have 100 false alarms than one missed call! Also even if you can't lie down right now, try taking the cold fizzy drink anyway and see what happens.

Rosieblossom123 · 30/11/2015 13:57

Missi Congratulations :) he's gorgeous, can't believe we have our first baby of the thread, hopefully he gets bigger and stronger soon and you get to take him home Grin

maybe I'm 26+1 and there's days where she'll be kicking me like mad and days where she just nudges me they do say there's plenty of room for baby to play around, I think we need to start the movement monitoring from 28 weeks, if you're too worried speak to your mw hun Flowers

Gingerlady123 · 30/11/2015 13:58

Missi- congrats on zach. He looks really good for his gestation and his so adorable you should be proud. So glad his breathing on his own. His a fighter and he has everyone here rooting for him. Hope your feeling ok.

Maybe- I wouldn't worry. Movement can vary so much up to a certain point as your still feeling some please don't panic. Ring midwife for advice if really worried as they can put your mind at ease. I rarely get any movement which upsets me and some days feel nothing but I've been told this is normal as well.

As for me. Urine dip test was negative on Friday for infection. Still needing the toilet loads have been at 6:30am, 8:30, 10:30, 11:30, 1:15 today so far. Doctors have sent urine to hospital for a more detailed culture test as apparently dip tests don't show everything. Really concerned still as when weeing I have a non painful/ non stinging sensation, but it's a new sensation. Midwife app Thursday I'll have to ask her then.

So tired atm. Yawning every five seconds and looks like I've been crying as I've yawned so much, still vomiting and feeling sick as well. Also my sick the last few times has been completely red. Not mixed in with sick just all red. I'm so concerned as its like this even on an empty stomach. Oh says it doesn't look like blood and I don't think it is but I'm so worried

Paperblank · 30/11/2015 14:02

Totally agree with the cold fizzy drink trick. Geronimo does cartwheels when I have a cold Pepsi Max (...which probably hasn't helped the slipped disc)

The MW all said the baby can still snuggle up and hide and when they start to run out of room that's when we feel it more. Is your placenta anterior maybe?

Missikat · 30/11/2015 14:02

Welcome Chilli and Mondi!

Yes I'm feeling very proud and protective over our tiny little man. It's heartbreaking when he cries (currently sounds like a tiny squeak) and screws his little face up, Particularly when the nurses are doing things to him. But it's lovely that just by putting my hands on him will calm him down almost instantly. Nappy change went ok thanks, not too different than from DS1 other than having to be so careful of all the wires and probes!

He's doing well today, they've upped his milk intake to 1ml every hour so we'll see his he takes it. Expressing is going really well, my boobs seem to remember what to do from last time! Today my milk came in so they look like porn star boobs, lol! They're massive at the best of times but now they are ridiculous!! Thanks for all your continued thoughts of us, really appreciate it xxx

Missikat · 30/11/2015 14:08

Maybe, I agree with the other ladies about movement, there's still loads of room. It amazed me in the two weeks before Zach was born and I was having the midwives listen in every 4 hours how often they struggled to find him as he was hiding, but definitely speak to your midwife of your worried they could ease your concerns

Ginger, I'd be worried about the red ref sick too, maybe it's just that your stomach lining is irritated from all the vomiting. Def worth mentioning to the dr.

Rosieblossom123 · 30/11/2015 14:09

Missi so glad your boy is doing well :) I bet you're so proud!! If you don't mind me asking, how far were you when you had him, I completely forgot? It's crazy knowing that we all have a little bubba like Zach inside of us, I think you made it more real for me I'm not going to lie Smile

maybebabybee · 30/11/2015 14:12

yes anterior placenta but that hasn't stopped me feeling him move at all - he's been doing big jabs which DP can see from the outside.

Just had some orange juice and still nothing :(

Paperblank · 30/11/2015 14:37

Oh maybe (hug) I'd ring MW or labour suite triage see what they say.

OP posts:
maybebabybee · 30/11/2015 14:39

I'm now feeling little rolls...but not jabs. Always worry I'm going to look like I'm silly, they know I have anxiety so I always freak out about not getting taken seriously!

Paperblank · 30/11/2015 15:15

Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. You're not being silly - you know what's normal and if it turns out that your baby is having a lazy spell playing hide and seek then all well and good. Mship was right further up the thread - midwives would rather see you and it be a false alarm than not see you.

Now ring the unit! You're not allowed to upset me. I have a slipped disc and I'm pregnant you know!! (not sure it'll work on you, but it works on DH...Every cloud has a silver liningWink)

OP posts:
maybebabybee · 30/11/2015 15:20

Well I called the unit - total and utter waste of time as phone merely rang for ten minutes and no one bothered picking up!! Now what?

Have had this experience before when I called at 17 weeks about some pains - I had to hang on for 30 mins before anyone picked up. Doesn't exactly bode well for labour does it!!

Paperblank · 30/11/2015 15:47

Oh no! That's just totally rubbish Sad and just what you need when you're already feeling anxious.

Ring the main hospital and ask yo be put through to labour suite? Might be worth a shot?

OP posts:
maybebabybee · 30/11/2015 16:01

tried that! They just said the maternity ward were really busy and I had to keep holding Hmm

Not inspiring much confidence!!!

ffauxlivia · 30/11/2015 16:41

Aw missi little Zach is adorable, you're all doing so well! Thanks for the continued updates. It must be horrible not being able to cuddle him yet but it's wonderful that's he's responding to your touch so well and that your milk has come in. Has your DS1 been able to visit yet and meet his new brother?

maybe hope you get through to someone soon. Have you checked out the Count the Kicks website? It's really informative and they say to start monitoring at 28 weeks I think, but as always it does no harm to get checked out.

ginger ugh you poor thing, missi might be on to something with your stomach lining being irritated. Have you tried posting on the hyperemesis support thread? Maybe people there have experienced it too. Hope you get seen to soon!

Welcome to all the newbies! Cake Brew

BeautifulLiar · 30/11/2015 17:00

Welcome newbies! Never too late to join us lot.

Aww Missi things sound good! And I have to agree with Rosie - it's just crazy to think we've all got little Zachs growing in there :)

Maybe errr that's actually really worrying when you're in labour isn't it?! Fx you get through soon, but I'm sure your baby is just fine in there!

Wellllll I ordered the carpets! Fuck it. It is a rented house, but it's my home, and I want it all nice when baby is here. Any ideas where I can do while the fitters are here next Thursday?! I'm thinking of going for a leisurely breakfast somewhere and taking a book not that I have any money left over after buying the carpets

Rosieblossom123 · 30/11/2015 17:14

Beautiful I want to buy a new carpet for the nursery too, It looks old and it's smelly haha where did you buy it from? also I'm getting so frustrated with the cosatto buggy when is it going on offer??? Angry

Me624 · 30/11/2015 17:21

maybe have you managed to get through yet? I'm 26 weeks and when I had my midwife appointment last week I mentioned that there are days where I don't get much movement, my midwife said it was completely normal and they still have loads of room in there at the moment. Try not to worry.

I'm annoyed as the baby monitor we bought at full price a couple of weeks ago is about to go on sale at Amazon! Always the way with these things though. I am excited as we've now ordered our pram, not in the sale but we knew it wouldn't be as it's a brand new model we wanted (mothercare did have the old model on sale but DH insisted we wait for the new one!) we're getting the iCandy peach 3.
