I don't think there is a thread for the July moms yet!
I'm due on July 2nd, just 4.5wks at the mo, but feel like I've known for ages as got a positive 5 days early on an early response! No real symptoms so far just a bit of cramping and some instant extra weightHalloween Biscuit.
This is dc3 for us. Haven't made any appointments yet. Looking forward to the next 8 months!

You're probably right, but I kind of feel like I don't want to take up time & resources for the sake of reassurance. Nothing can be done either way, either it's fine or it's not, time will tell. Does that make any sense?!

Woodsy81 · 11/11/2015 21:14

Culture, I had a little brown discharge and some pain on Saturday but as it stopped by the time I went to bed I didn't think anything of it. I googled it and most of the info said that it is pretty common and is prob old blood. My mum who is a nurse also said not to worry too much unless it changed to red and even if that happened it doesn't mean the worst. Hope you are ok. x

redstrawberries101 · 11/11/2015 21:16

Loki - lucky you going to a ball! What are you wearing?

Does anyone know what the midwife Appts entail?

Indiansinthelobby - what sort of exercise are you doing in pregnancy?

Welcome peiya! My due date is 19th July! :) and welcome missdj

Culturestuckdown - I also had a tiny trace of brown on my panty liner tmi I was concerned initially but will just keep an eye

SoniaShoe · 11/11/2015 21:24

beautician that's an odd combo of food but it looks so good. Are they parsnips with it too? And gravy? With prawns and rice... I could definitely eat that!

culture that's a good approach. Additional stress wouldn't make things any better. I'm sure nothing to worry about.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 11/11/2015 21:27

Hi Missdj in a lot of places now you do self refer to the midwife so I see no harm in you doing that.

Culture brown blood is always old blood so I think you should be fine. I had a spot of brown blood three days before I tested but I think that was implantation.

Mel the first midwife appt is to take bloods to check for various things. To get address/phone details, check medical history, record previous pregnancies etc. They usually ask where you want to have the baby as that will be the hospital where your scans take place. After that you will see the midwife regularly and she will check how you are, take blood pressure, measure bump and get you to fill in any paper work at various stages. They will discussing different things each appointment like breastfeeding, birth options. From about week 16 they check for the heartbeat each time too.

Loki17 · 11/11/2015 21:28

Culture, give it a few days and see how you feel. I wouldn't feel bad about wasting people's time, it is what they are there for.

Melvali - im really looking forward to it but worried about people guessing i'm pregnant. I've got quite a simple gown, black and sparkly at the top and a flowy skirt. And not too high strappy shoes!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 11/11/2015 21:29

Sonia yes parsnips and it's a red sauce the pork was cooked in. DH used to be a chef in Australia when he was working there( he did the whole see the world thing and Was in Aus for 2 years)so he is great at just throwing different ingredients together and making it work.

Was a big help today as I was ravenous

LuckyinOctober · 11/11/2015 21:33

Jade - there but for the grace of god go all of us, really hope you're receiving the support you need from those close to you and also keeping fingers and toes crossed that you're going to be OK.

Culture - straight after my first positive pregnancy test when I next went to the loo I noticed a smear of brownish in my discharge when I wiped - prompting DH to say "it could be all over already then", but I've had nothing like that since, but it has made me extra paranoid re looking out for it, the more time that passes since the more I relax. Not sure exactly how far along you are but my understanding is it's pretty normal to have brown spotting or discharge at some point while sprout beds in.

Have had a hormone surge today I think, had a slightly giddy happy feeling all day, a bit like I'd had a glass of wine (as if!)

Not sure who said but the person who worries that the tests were wrong and there won't be anything there at the scan - yep I've had that thought too and it's that thought that stops me telling people - however if I've not had a period by then logically it would seem unlikely there's another explanation given all these symptoms ..

CultureSucksDownWords · 11/11/2015 21:40

I'm thinking of Jade too, I hope you're being cared for Thanks

I'm 6+3 today, so I thought it's too late for implantation but it could be all sorts of different things. Really hoping it'll reduce or disappear over night.

wantingno2 · 11/11/2015 21:40

Loki sounds lovely!

Beautician not magician - thanks for the info

I don't think we will be finding out the gender as it is our first and we like the idea of a surprise!

EllieJayJay · 11/11/2015 21:55

Hi to all the new ladies, I really do have fluff for brains, I can't remember names past 9pm - but welcome it's nice to meet you x

sore nipple - MIRACLE CREAM I purchased Mama Mio Keep Calm Nipple Balm 30 ml and tonight is the first night I've not felt like they are on fire!! Purchased from Amazon for £12 - the smallest amount goes miles (and since I have the highest boobs in the world trust me when I say it goes a long way!) I also used the boob lube - love this stuff! And wish I knew about it a week ago :D

Cookiesandcoffee · 11/11/2015 21:55

Wow so much chat today! And lots more newbies! I will wave to you all as I'm tired and trying to catch up on everything.
I'm so sorry To hear this Jade, I really feel for you and sending out lots of hugs. I hope you have the support around you and you are looking after yourself.
Those of you not finding out the sex- you're a stronger woman than I am! I will just have to as I am a organisation/control freak and need to get everything ready. We have two girls and a lot of pink stuff. If this seed is a boy I have a lot of stuff to get!

EllieJayJay · 11/11/2015 21:56

Biggest not highest - I doubt my boobs will ever be the same and certainly not high for very long lmao - am getting a bed bra from mothercare on Friday

EllieJayJay · 11/11/2015 21:57

And someone asked about apps - pregnancy + is my favourite so far x

wantingno2 · 11/11/2015 22:07

Going to order those creams now thank you I downloaded the baby centre app there's mumsnet app isn't there??

jemimahpuddleduck · 11/11/2015 22:21

culture I experienced this in my first pregnancy (only when wiping) and everything was fine. I think as long as it's brown/pink it's generally ok.

Fourormore · 11/11/2015 22:21

Hello, another newbie. I just got my BFP today, due 16th July if someone can add me to the list..! Smile This is baby 4 for me and last labour really hurt so I'm worrying about that already!

Loki17 · 11/11/2015 22:22

My cousin had three scans that all told her she was having a girl, she bought a lot if pink and ended up having a boy! I think, even if I found out, there would be part if me that didn't believe it! DH is wavering slightly this time so we might though....

LuckyinOctober · 11/11/2015 22:30

Apps - I like the Ovia pregnancy app as it gives daily updates of baby development which have been very helpful for engaging DH in the idea it's really happening and I also like the tracking options and articles - caveat is it's based on American systems and not so accurate on UK therefore. I've also signed up for NHS start for life emails but they only come from 5 weeks on so just had my first one yesterday.

Nipples - mine are now settling but that was my first cue I might be pregnant - if they start up again I'll be investing in that cream Ellie!

Peyia · 11/11/2015 22:58

Thanks for the welcome ladies!! Congrats to 4ormore.....name suggests you'll like a ton of sproggs Grin

This trimester is so nerve racking!! I worry myself silly so hopefully this thread will be a support. My fear is also not seeing bubs there at the 12 week scan. I'm only 4 weeks so a long wait yet! Tempted to get an early one.

xx

JadeT2 · 11/11/2015 22:58

Thank you all for your kind words. Thankfully my husband and I have Wednesdays off work and hes been looking after me all day, even though I know it's upsetting for him too. In fact all of my family have been great so far, so it's helping me stay positive.

redstrawberries101 · 12/11/2015 06:17

I also have ovia app and signed up to emails through baby centre. My mum also gave me this folder for each stage from thinking of TTC through to after baby is born. Plus when I discussed TTC with the doctor she gave me a NHS ready steady baby book too so I have lots of info at hand!

Thankfully my nipples aren't sore. Boobs are tender though and bra feels tight around the back. The morning sickness is definitely made easier by eating regularly.

Last night I overate though, had a chippie on top of my dinner and I haven't managed to sleep all night! Was up at 2am for an hour and up again. Even the bit I have slept just felt like I was half awake.

Have any of you told work? Our pay reviews/bonus conversations happen at the end of Jan (20th onwards) and I don't want to announce the pregnancy too early because of that. 12 week scan will be on Jan 6th. Hubby keeps saying it won't make a
difference. At the same time I don't want to announce it straight after the conversations either. Maybe I'll tell them after the scan, so just a couple weeks before.

What do you think??

redstrawberries101 · 12/11/2015 06:19

Peiya, I think we are all feeling like that. All we can do is try to relax though and not cause any stress to our bodies and babba's. Each day feels like its passing so slowly. I want to enjoy the pregnancy too though ?? I'm wondering if it'll be like this all throughout or I'll relax after the 12 week scan.
