I know just what you mean Suz my baby feels quite deep inside. Dr took a couple of minutes to find babies heartbeat yesterday. It is a wriggler though!

DH is dying to feel a kick and can't wait until 24 weeks when according to everything he's read he'll be able to feel it. No pressure then!

BeautifulLiar · 30/10/2015 07:53

Hey everyone! I think you should all stop nattering as it's impossible to keep up Grin

Congrats Trijo!

Shieldbug - thank you, that was really sweet. I'm pleased to report that things are much better (long may it continue!). DH was here Wednesday morning - Thursday night and we had the talk I wanted to have. He was brilliant and said he's so sorry and he really will try to understand that if I'm irrational, it's probably hormones!! He said he didn't answer the phone because he couldn't be bothered to argue, but agreed that he can't just ignore me like that again.

He went to pick up the rainforest playmat I won on eBay and it's in brilliant condition so I'm really happy about that. I've also started painting my bedroom and have ordered bits from Dunelm Mill's 'duck egg blue beautiful birds" collection. It's so frigging mumsy, I feel so grown up! Grin

Hope everyone's ok. I really want a pumpkin painted on my bump but got no one to do it...

IndomitabIe · 30/10/2015 08:01

Ah, so glad all is well beautiful!

I've discovered the holy grail of comfort! My cheap Argos body pillow, in an inverted u shape, from one hip, up over bump to breastbone and back to other hip. I'm lying on my front and it's bliss!

BeautifulLiar · 30/10/2015 08:04

Indom I feel cheated by you! I bough that pillow weeks ago and it was useless I tell ye, useless! Maybe it'll be better now I'm bigger??

IndomitabIe · 30/10/2015 08:24

Oh I've loved it Beaut. I didn't have any kind of pregnancy pillow last time, so it's been a bit of a revelation. I still wake up with backache but that could be because it's half term and I've had at least 2 hours more sleep than normal!

Try the U thing!

QforCucumber · 30/10/2015 08:36

Ooo I was loaned the body pillow thing from babiesRus by a friend and I love it,
it even curls up into a nest type thing for when baby is here.
Dp doesn't want to give it back as I made him 'wear' it and he said its amazing too haha.

Glad things are looking up beautiful sometimes it's just talking to them to get it across, my DP can be so dense sometimes!

maybebabybee · 30/10/2015 08:50

My DP has been able to feel baby kicking since just before 20 weeks which is pretty mad given my placenta is anterior. Baby seems to have days when he's super quiet at the moment followed by days when he's bouncing around all over the place.

Had my first prenatal yoga class last night. Further cemented my belief that if we stay living in Islington I won't have a single 'mum' friend once this baby is born!

TriJo · 30/10/2015 08:57

I'm absolutely convinced that my DH is the happiest man in London now after finding out that we're team blue. He's seriously walking on air and it's really funny.

Found out yesterday on the scan report that my placenta has moved up a bit (listed as anterior-high on the report) which probably explains why I've been feeling loads of movement and kicking despite only being 19+5 now. Little one is pretty much on the 50th percentile line for all measurements and everything on the scan looked healthy.

Maybe Islington borough high-five :) We're planning to stick around here for #1 anyway because we have a 2-bed apartment, will see how things go in the future though.

dobbythedoggy · 30/10/2015 10:48

Dh has been able to feel bump move since 15 weeks! It's been a real shock to feel so much movement this time. Dd was such a chilled out baby most of the time, think we've got a live wire on our hands this time. Hoping above all hope that this means bump won't be breech like dd.

On top of heartburn the horrific leg cramps started last night. Had throught I'd managed to avoid them this time with actually managing to sleep on my side with a body pillow. Seems I just delayed it!

vroc81 · 30/10/2015 11:19

OOOh I think I need to go pillow shopping!! I woke up with terrible knee pain last night - knee? Why my knee? I was very cross and the only thing I could find on the floor by the bed was a fleece pj top I shoved under it so will have to buy a proper body pillow I think.

TriJo congratulations on the team blue news!

Beautiful glad things have improved. Sometimes they do need it spelling out don't they?!

hayleycookie · 30/10/2015 11:29

Jealous of you all feeling these lovely kicks! I have a low anterior placenta and the only kicks I feel are few and far between, and only noticeable if I look for them. I'm hoping I get the bigger kicks soon, hubby is dying to feel him move, and it'll be a lot easier to relax when I can feel him moving regularly.

Also liking the sound of this pillow! Logging on to the Argos website now to take a gander.... I really miss comfort lol

maybebabybee · 30/10/2015 11:41

TriJo ooh, Islington high five :) My placenta is also anterior high actually, maybe that's why I can feel a lot.

I love Islington itself, I just don't fit in with the culture/people here unfortunately...I don't really do the whole organic/gluten-free/yoga thing very well Confused. We rent a 2 bed at the moment but we'll be buying next which means we'll be priced out of the area sadly. Contract ends at end of April so we'll most likely be moving with a six week old baby Confused

Gingerlady123 · 30/10/2015 13:09

Wow thread #6! .
I really should post/read thread more often.
Had 20 week scan this morning and she is looking perfect! I'm so so shocked after the worry over bleeding/nuchal measurement. And they managed to confirm girl again after my 17 week gender scan.
Little bit sad I didn't enjoy and relax scan as I was so scared. Last time seeing baby now until she is born.
I have been feeling her kick the last few days though. 19+6 today. Hospital said I have a fundal, not low placenta. However they didn't mention anterior which my private gender scan said I had. #confused

Trinpy · 30/10/2015 13:33

Thanks TheM Flowers. I'll give her a call on Monday when she's in clinic.

Congratulations to everyone whos had their 20 week scan in the past couple of days. So many scans recently I can't keep track!

I had my hair cut today for the first time in ages. 1 hour of having to stare at my own reflection and make awkward small talk, but it was so worth it .

Missikat · 30/10/2015 13:52

Congrats Trijo on your boy and Ginger on your healthy little girl! Placentas can move in the first trimester so maybe that's what's happened to yours?

I'm dealing with a poorly DS at the mo, thinking it's probably hand foot and mouth (although at first thought it was chicken pox for the second time in 8 months, which apparently can happen much to my surprise). It's very tiring as he doesn't want to eat or do much at all, plus I am having to be quarantined away from people on DH weekend at work, boo!

I also have an anterior placenta (not high) and kicks are sporadic and very 'internal' feeling. Seen my belly move a couple of times but only slightly. Can't wait for the bigger movements!

AdorabeezleWinterpop · 30/10/2015 14:24

Hi all. Not been on here for ages but heard from Sherazade today so I thought I'd see how everyone is. It is exciting now the 20 week scans are well underway!

I had mine last week. All fine but baby measuring on 95th centile! We found out that DC3 is a boy. DD and DS are delighted!

It looks like I will have my section at 38 weeks, so he may end up a Feb baby, not a March baby, but I am staying here!

ffauxlivia · 30/10/2015 15:55

Oh congrats Ginger -I have been wondering how you were getting on! Yeah it's normal for the placenta to move as you grow I think.

Also jealous of kicks here - 19 weeks and not felt a thing inside, let alone on the outside. Trying not to worry though!

Re. pillows - is the Snuggle available in the UK? Everyone in my prenatal yoga class over here waxes lyrical about it, and say their partners also steal it to sort out their back issues! $60 which is about £40 - trying to decide if it's worth the plunge: www.amazon.com/Leachco-Snoogle-Total-Pillow-White/dp/B0000635WI

ffauxlivia · 30/10/2015 15:56

Snoogle not snuggle - damn autocorrect

QforCucumber · 30/10/2015 17:51

ffaux that looks a lot like the one I was given! It's amazing!

QforCucumber · 30/10/2015 17:53

I have this one - recommend it to all.
However, friend who gave me it did say it had no effect on her at all! I have my best nights sleep with it

ffauxlivia · 30/10/2015 17:59

Q thanks, looks like pretty much the same thing! I keep waking up on my back and feeling guilty, so think I'm gonna get it :)

Flen · 30/10/2015 18:09

Those pillows looks great Q and ffaux, have been struggling lately and packing myself round with pillows, so wonder if I should take the plunge?

ThePug · 30/10/2015 18:17

Congratulations on your little boy Tri - I get a bit confused on names but are you the rugby mad one? If so, no wonder DH is delighted!

Mship I have to ask why are boy pooslopsions easier to clean up from? I had anticipated it being more messy to clean as he'll have erm, bits to clean!

On the pillow chat front, I have this pillow It has tiny little beads in it and is great because I can 'hug' it whichever way I'm facing, so when I turnover I don't have to rearrange it. I won't lie, it is HUGE but DH has actually admitted he has more space in the bed now as the dog can't get between us and then kick him further towards the edge of the bed Grin

ThePug · 30/10/2015 18:25

I meant to write poosplosions but maybe pooslopsions is an equally valid (if grim) term?!

MyNameIsSuz · 30/10/2015 18:37

Not sure if the poonamis are easier with boys (though there are no... crevices, so it's easy to wipe which I guess is probably easier), but I hear changing mat wees are less messy. Boys do tend to wee on you when the nappy comes off, but you soon learn to dodge it or catch it with minimal mess, whereas my friends who had girls tell me that when they wee on the changing mat it trickles straight down and spreads underneath them, meaning a costume change and sometimes a hair wash!!
