I'm so disorganised compared to you lot!
I have buggy (in my loft)
Car seat, crib and cot in my mums loft (but no mattresses)
Think I still have breast pump in loft
Clothes are in my mum's loft, don't really know what's there
Newborn nappies are in my friend's loft
No idea where the wipes are.

Haven't even thought about hospital bags etc yet.

I think knowing I have all the stuff somewhere is making me lax about actually getting it sorted. But then again, I do still have three months to get it together!

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 16/11/2015 18:47

Breast pump: buying whatever manual one is cheapest, as I will only be using it to express when Im engorged so baby can latch (was a major issue last time, being so swollen my nipples were totally flat and DD couldnt latch) should I decide to go down the expressing route I will hire a Medela Symphony again. Best investment ever. 12oz out every 3 hours Shock and boobs totally emptied within 15 mins. Double pump. Almost hands free. Very effecient.

jellypi3 · 16/11/2015 18:50

My only issue with ikea cots is the mattress sizes aren't standard.

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 16/11/2015 18:53

Good quality and price though. Their top end mattress is £70 I think, same quality anywhere else would cost about £170.

jellypi3 · 16/11/2015 20:11

Do you find getting bedding is OK for ikea mattresses? That would be my concern (I have an ikea bed and bed sheets are hard to get)

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 16/11/2015 20:57

I get them from IKEA. Pack of 2 for £7 - bargain Grin called LEN I think. I usually order online as our nearest one is not so near. Ive just got rid of my MALM bed - too low - in favour of a standard double (LEIRVIK I think). MALM was a pain in the ass for sheets etc, so I know what you mean! The baby/child bedding is great too, toddler sized duvets are so cute.

RattyCatty · 16/11/2015 21:02

TMI and FTM amazement alert... Just had bath & noticed after that right nipple was leaking!

jellypi3 · 16/11/2015 21:03

Ah I didn't realise they were so cheap. We literally live 5 mins from ikea but we are moving this week quite far away haha

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 16/11/2015 21:36

My son has a new IKEA mattress for his new big boy bed and it's great. He sleeps through every night and it just looks comfy IYKWIM. If we were going down the standard cot route we would happily get IKEA. I have a twin co sleeping bassinet that the baby will sleep in until it's older and then we'll just pick up a second hand cot from eBay and get a new mattress for it. My son had his cot from 6 months through to 35 months and it was a John Lewis second hand one from eBay and cost us £10. It looked brand new do don't feel you have to spend a lot of money on nursery furniture sets.

Mawsymoo · 16/11/2015 21:39

I'm confused - I was looking at the Ikea cots before and they're 120x60cm which I thought was the standard size for a cot (not a cotbed). I don't want to end up with one that's a different size to DS's and have to have separate sheets for each of them!

jellypi3 · 16/11/2015 21:47

The ikea ones are cots not cot beds right

Rufus200 · 17/11/2015 06:53

Achica has Grobags for sale. They are discounted from £36 to £20 and then if you use a voucher you can get it for £10! If you use this link it will give you a £10 off voucher.

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 17/11/2015 07:57

All of them barring SNIGLAR are cot beds, if I remember correctly.

jellypi3 · 17/11/2015 08:42

thanks till, i'm ng to showcase their stuff to DP tonight now! :) i like the stuva set!

haquoi123 · 17/11/2015 10:38

Eurgh, the pain has finally got to me. I spent most of the day sitting doing my taxes and when I got up my hip completely went. I could walk around a bit but it would spasm even when standing still. By the end of the evening I couldn't put any weight on it (crawling didn't help either), but I though it would be better this morning. So instead of sitting I thought, let's got for a short walk! Got halfway down the road and it was just painful with every movement and then not holding the weight and I started limping, so turned back. Epic fail! I've got loads of instruments to carry later today and tables and chairs to move, don't know how I'm going to get through the teaching!! I thought about borrowing my Mum's crutches... Overkill?

Hope those of you also suffering aren't suffering too much!

Had our 25 week scan this am. All ok and both babies measuring at nearly 2 pounds. Only max of 12 weeks to go. I feel sooo disorganised! Got to pack my hospital bags this weekend - very scary!!

MaisieDotes · 17/11/2015 11:29

haquoi I'd say get the crutches if they're available to you. I was on the verge of seeing about getting crutches when my back/ leg were bad. Whatever helps IMO.

clarabellski · 17/11/2015 11:58

OMG Ratty!

I've gone up a cup size (just bought 4 new bras in debenhams during their 20% off weekend) but other than that no obvious breast changes yet.

Great scan news Joleyn! Cake

RattyCatty · 17/11/2015 19:41

Exciting scan news joleyn! Smile

haquoi that sounds awful - I agree with maisie whatever works Cake

Hows everyone in this storm? Im in the East Midlands and the wind is horrendous. Guarantee one or two fence panels will come down, on both sides, and both neighbours will insist its my boundary to fix Hmm Last time I had to get the Housing Manager involved and make her tell them both over the phone which was my side. Assholes. Usually have the. window open at night, its going to be difficult to sleep with it shut, gah, is that the most first world problem ever?

jellypi3 · 17/11/2015 21:21

It's pretty bad here too in the south East. I'm moving out tomorrow so hope the fence panels stay up lol

Sighing · 17/11/2015 21:31

Already had the BBq destroyed here (warwickshire) one of the bins was blown across the patio and smashed into it!
We've placed bets on how many fence panels will be gone by morning.
Jellypi: I hope yours make it!

NorthernChinchilla · 17/11/2015 21:51

Yeesh, just spent the evening going through all the best buy tables for mortgages over varying set periods. Got home early so thought I'd use the time well. I looooove being a grown up.... sounds like you've had a similar day haquoi.

I had follow up appointment with physio yesterday, and she is, quote, impressed with the improvement to the quality of my movement!! Given I'm hardly a graceful twinkle-toes ballerina I feel hugely complimented Grin. I've been working hard on the exercises, using the belt, trying to sit down and never go one legged. Still feel like I've been kicked in the crotch though.

The sofa bed I used to co-sleep with DS was an IKEA one till, and we'll be replacing it with another. If it weren't for the fact that a new baby will be sleeping in it (and hence needed to change as if it were a cot) we wouldn't need to, and it's ten years old and still brilliant. Very good value, long lasting and comfy. How is DD1 btw? I'm a believer in The Smell, I know it from myself when I'm ill!

Bloody windy here, but doesn't sound like anything's breaking yet. Sure there's still time!

XingXingFox · 17/11/2015 21:54

Hello! Nearly 28 weeks here and heartburn is s permanent fixture! I've also got the weirdest sensation of being kicked in the fanjo repeatedly and like the baby is going to fall out. It's been constant for about three days. Trying not to freak out!

Hope the storm damage isn't too awful. I'm in Londin and it's horribly windy (for once my street us quiet and no drunken yobs on!) but hoping we'll escape unscathed.

My DD was 3 this week. I'm so proud of her and how far she come and what a wonderful little girl she is. Can't wait to have another girl!

haquoi123 · 17/11/2015 22:05

Happy birthday to your little girl, fox!

What fun, chinchilla, yup, being a grown-up rocks

We're in sunny Cumbria (ha!!) and luckily not on a flood plain (my family also lives on a hill), so no worries about flooding for us. I know a few people who will be/have been effected, and a few main roads have had to close. Our fence will almost certainly come down, it's halfway there (someone shoddy put it in and then FIL did a quick fix last time it blew down). Fingers crossed for your fence jelly!

Glad you're doing better chinchilla. I found one hip stretch that I think clicked something back into place, so I managed to get through work and it's been better this eve. Might grab one of my Mum's walking sticks just in case though, it was horrible!
