I've been booked in for the GTT test :(

So annoyed and don't want to do it! It's because my dad has been diagnosed with diabetes. Ironic as he's a hospital consultant that specialises in diabetes!!

Me624 · 21/10/2015 21:11

Congrats on all the scans today hayley, Q, Rosie and doc! Welcome to team blue doc and hayley! And glad you're finally cooperated Rosie.

How come you need the GTT test Beautiful? Is it because of the baby's measurements?

Pleased to announce that I've bought my bigger size granny pants and so I don't have sore hips today as the new ones aren't digging in! My tights are now though, need to buy some more maternity ones that go up to your boobs!

Missikat · 21/10/2015 22:06

Congrats Q on your healthy little one, Hayley on your little man and Rosie on your (naughty) little lady!! Glad you found out her sex finally! Glad to hear all the babies so far are happy and healthy.

I also had mine today, all is looking good thankfully. It seems I do have an anterior placenta which I had wondered about as literally felt baby move for the first time last night while struggling to get to sleep because of thinking about today's scan! Now today I've felt him/her loads!

Both DH and I thought we spotted a little willy and balls so although we wanted a surprise I think maybe we have boy no2 on the way (but will have to wait til march for confirmation!). Really lovely to see little one moving about in there (the coffee and sweet pastry before hand seemed to help, lol!)

I second (3rd/4th/5th) joining pregnancy yoga. Did it for all of DS's pregnancy and learnt loads of techniques and positions And breathing that I used in labour. Plus met some fab mums who I still see weekly now 2.5 years later.

Good luck for all those with scans coming up shortly.

Missikat · 21/10/2015 22:09

And congrats Doc on your little man and Beaut on your little lady. Xx

BeautifulLiar · 22/10/2015 06:34

Missikat - the whole way through our scan me and DH could see a willy, but right at the end the sonographer said girl. It must have been the cord or something, but it looked just like boy parts, so you may still be in for a surprise!

Me - congrats on your new granny pants! Yay. I've automatically got to have the GTT test because my dad has diabetes :(

Me624 · 22/10/2015 06:45

That seems a bit silly Beautiful as diabetes is rarely genetic as far as I understand it! Oh well I'm sure you'll have the test and be fine.

Poor night's sleep last night, I'm shattered this morning Sad

BeautifulLiar · 22/10/2015 07:31

The midwife even said there's no way I'll have it, I'm small myself and have small babies. I hope she's right, the idea of a hospital birth is like a nightmare for me.

Rubbish getting no sleep isn't it? And no one mention it will be worse in March, please! Wink

Rosieblossom123 · 22/10/2015 08:00

Beautiful it's probably just precautions they have to take! Everything will be okay :) It's funny how everyone tells you something different, everyone said it's definitely a boy because of sickness and others will say girls haha Not going to lie still a bit scared of buying everything pink, washing and ironing then I end up with a boy I don't know what I would actually do :( The woman said she's 99% sure its a girl and we saw the 3 white lines so fingers crossed!

Me I've been the same lately just having a rubbish sleep every night It really kills when you gotta get up early and go work :'( oh well it will get worse haha

Congratulations on all the healthy scans, we're half way there girls :) and good luck to all the upcoming ones too!!

maybebabybee · 22/10/2015 08:36

Congrats on all the scans everyone, lovely to see so many healthy babies.

I have mine about 2.45 today. Really scared to be honest. Been going through a lot of extremely stressful family stuff recently and I'm worried it's affected the baby. Feel sorry for the poor thing!

Rosieblossom123 · 22/10/2015 08:41

maybe don't worry I'm sure everything is fine, baby is protected in there! I'm sure you'll be sharing the good news with us later, good luck Flowers

marmitemofo · 22/10/2015 08:52

missikat, same as beautiful I was convinced I could see willy and balls in my scan but then she mentioned seeing the cord and then when she looked it turned out we are having a girl (and she was very sure on this - my notes say 98% chance and she said she had a very clear view) so it could still be a girl!

maybe I'm sure baby will be ok, good luck for later. Are you finding out the sex?

feel knackered today - pregnancy yoga last night so didn't end up getting back till late and took me a while to wind down before I got to sleep. DD was up at 5.15am this morning and I only half woke up - DP got up with her and got into bed with her in her room, then woke me up at 6.15am. Felt awful and tired but not really like I could complain haha!

Flen · 22/10/2015 09:48

Congrats to everyone on good scans and good luck today maybe

I read something on one of my pregnancy apps yesterday that said I should be thinking about starting antenatal classes. Does that seem quite soon to anyone else?! I was planning to start in January....

Sorry to all those suffering from lack of sleep, there's not much worse. I'm a long-standing insomniac, which I'm now trying to see as good training for March! At the moment there's something rather nice about being awake and having the littlie squirming about, it doesn't feel quite so lonely.

maybebabybee · 22/10/2015 10:03

thanks for the well wishes everyone - yes we'll be finding out the sex if baby behaves itself!

flen that seems very soon, my NCT classes are booked for the end of January.

hayleycookie · 22/10/2015 10:06

Yes Beautiful two little boys it will be now :) To be honest I was CONVINCED this one was a girl. Every single person I spoke to also believed it was a girl, even DH, so I hadn't even considered the possibility of it being a boy lol It will be lovely for my son to have a little brother to play with :) I also have a low lying placenta. I have to go back around 34 weeks to check if it's moved, and if not then I might have to have a c-section eek! Hopefully it budges by then. Has anyone else had a low lying placenta? I didn't even know it was a thing!

Congratulations on all the healthy babies and good luck today Maybe :) Has anyone got a running tally of team blues and pinks?

Beautiful I have to have the GTT test too :( I'm fairly small (10/12) but DD was a HUGE baby which no one expected so I have to have the GTT this time :( Not looking forward to it!

Rosieblossom123 · 22/10/2015 10:16

maybe hopefully baby cooperates we don't want another naughty baby on this thread! Wink

hayley I was thinking that shall we create an excel sheet or something to list who's having what?

Missikat · 22/10/2015 10:26

Hope all goes well Maybe, I agree with Rosie, baby is well protected from all external influences in there, I'm sure they're fine. Good luck.

Beautiful, I'm kind of hoping maybe it was the cord as I (not very) secretly would love a girl as I think we'll probably not be able to have more than 2 kids so is be sad never to have a daughter... But it will be lovely for DS to have a brother if it is boy no 2 as well!

BeautifulLiar · 22/10/2015 11:06

Good luck maybe - I'm sure your baby will be fine. I guess people have had babies through wars and stuff and they turned out ok! Hope you're ok xx

Missikat - obviously I haven't seen your scan but I seriously thought it looked like boy parts on mine, despite having been told she's a girl at 16 weeks!

Rosie - it even says on the NHS website that morning sickness is more likely with a girl baby!

Hayley - really? Ouch! How big was he? Mine have been 5lb 10oz, 5lb 12oz and 6lb... if this one is over 7lb I'll cry! I keep thinking it would look huge... but I bet it won't compared to my other three!

hayleycookie · 22/10/2015 11:15

Beautiful I hope you're sitting down for this.... he was 10lb 5oz!!!!! They had predicted he would be maybe 8lb but definitely not bigger than that Hmm So understandably they want to keep checks on this ones size. My bump with DS1 measured perfectly the whole way through so no-one expected he would be a big baby.
They've already predicted that this baby will be 7lb 12oz... we'll see!

TheMshipIsBack · 22/10/2015 11:24

hayley those weight predictions are rarely accurate, but let's hope for a nice easy 8lb or under for you Wink.

Lovely to hear all the scan news!

Rosieblossom123 · 22/10/2015 11:28

Beautiful I read something like that before then my best friend was like it's definitely a boy because she was sick with her boy and my bump looks low haha everyone's different I guess :) I sort of knew from the nub theory her numb was definitely a girlie one haha

hayley 10lb 5oz Shock wow!!! I'm scared now haha

hayleycookie · 22/10/2015 11:33

Mship Haha I would be happy with under 9lb! I gave birth with just gas and air, and no tears or damage, but it was a LONG hard labour so I'm really hoping for just a little smaller this time. There's no truth to the whole ''second babies are bigger'' thing is there?
Rosie Don't be scared lol if I can do it ANYONE can! What's the nub theory?

TheMshipIsBack · 22/10/2015 11:39

hayleycookie Info for 2nd time around says shorter labour, 2nd babies are on average only 5oz heavier.

Tonideanna123 · 22/10/2015 11:47

Trijo - im going to start swimming just normally doing lengths at my own pace and see how I go.

Indomitable- That's like me I have either toast, crumpets or cereal for breakfast , lunch is different as I get bored of what to do, dinner the same. Then treats during the meals biscuits, crisps, fruit things like that. I do fancy chocolate and crisps a lot but I try to control myself a bit lol and have some fruit.

xx

Tonideanna123 · 22/10/2015 11:49

Congratulations everyone on all your baby scans and finding out the sex of your babys Smile

xx

QforCucumber · 22/10/2015 11:49

rosie on the original stats sheet I made I put a section for pink/blue, but I seem to have mislaid the link and have no idea where to find it again haha.

Oh god i'm dreading a big baby, I don't think I want to give birth anymore - it can stay cooking forever Smile
