Toni I was dead set on having a surprise but decided not to in the end.to compromise we're just not telling anyone we know she's a girl! People keep saying "are you going to find out tomorrow?"... little do they know I've known the sex for 4 weeks!

Me624 · 20/10/2015 13:33

Congrats on your girl Suz. My scan report says 98% accuracy (mines a boy, so slightly easier to be definite) and I'm happy enough with that certainty as I saw the boy bits myself!

TriJo · 20/10/2015 13:39

We're going to find out, but thinking of not telling anyone until Christmas when we're back in Ireland and giving our parents either a pink or blue teddy then to let them know :)

Still clueless on names too. My husband's first choice for a boy (Samuel) was completely shot down by his brothers, but I still kinda like it. We also quite like Paul but it would be a really obvious rugby connotation at the moment! We'll almost certainly be using Joseph as a middle name for a boy if we're having one because my due date is in the same week as the first anniversary of my grandfather's passing and I'd like to honour him in some way. For girls, I like Ciara, Róisín, Jane and Ruby and my DH is awful at girl names so I don't think he's even thought about it properly yet. Our surname is 3 syllables so we want something relatively short.

QforCucumber · 20/10/2015 13:46

I love Róisín tri but we know a Roosje (pronounced Row-sha) and dp said it's too similar damn it!

ThePug · 20/10/2015 13:47

Lovely baby boy & baby girl news from you all! I agree it seems like there have been more boys than girls so far. I'll be finding out on Friday (I'm practically counting down the hours) but have no clue which it'll be. I so hope baby behaves and lets us see!

Then the Big Baby Name Discussions will begin.

Rosieblossom123 · 20/10/2015 13:57

Congratulations on all your scans ladies :) So my second private scan is tomorrow at 5:45 and I've been hoping and praying baby behaves this time, I'm so grateful that the 20 week scan was perfect but my baby is a little rascal keeping us all on our toes!! Please please please baby behave tomorrow!!!

Beautiful I love the name Audrey it's so cute :) my sonographer was horrible too hun trust me, we were the last appointment and I could tell she just wanted to go home, just the fact that she didn't make any effort what so ever to find out the sex all she was saying was sorry baby's legs are closed, seriously???? 3rd time lucky I guess!

Also was reading my scan notes yesterday and it says I have anterior placenta, surely she should've told me! who's on the same boat, am I meant to be worried? just need to do my research I guess!

maybebabybee · 20/10/2015 14:05

I was kicked off the thread for some reason - bizarre.

My scan is on Thursday and am freaking out about it although we think DP felt the baby kick the other day - is it too early for him to feel? Am 20 weeks today and not been feeling loads of movement myself yet - usually get a little bit every day though, or what I think is movement anyway.

I will go and read back now but wishing everyone well :)

ThePug · 20/10/2015 14:09

maybe I'm two days behind you and I'd describe my feelings of movement the same of you; not loads but notice some bubbling/fluttering a few times a day. DH definitely wouldn't be able to feel anything yet, though. Good luck for the scan tomorrow, and you too Rosie - have a word with baby and tell it to keep its legs open Grin

maybebabybee · 20/10/2015 14:15

thepug yes that's exactly what I get. Though recently it occasionally feels more definitive. I'm 99% sure what we felt the other day was baby kicking from the outside - I had my hand on my stomach and suddenly felt something popping up, then told DP to quickly feel and he felt it too. But nothing since - very odd!

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 14:22

Oh right beautifulliar hopefully your get a nice sonographer this time. Aww yeah I couldn't have a surprise it would be nice but at the same time its nice knowing as well. That be good hopefully no one will find out before she is born.

Aww good luck pug, hopefully baby behaves so you can find out. Yes that's the thing im stuck on now finding my little man a name.

Good luck for your scan on Thursday maybebabybee and I feel my baby kicking away throughout the day or moving but I can feel when I put my hand on my bump, not that strong at the moment. But they are getting stronger and my partner can feel him too. Its so nice feeling him moving around. I cant wait till he starts kicking more Smile.

xx

Rosieblossom123 · 20/10/2015 14:23

ThePug I've been having words with baby since my scan on Saturday haha I think baby is being way too cheeky, looking at the bright side I've seen baby 3 times in the space of a week tomorrow will be the last one tho if baby doesn't cooperate then we will have to leave it as a surprise I guess!

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 15:15

Right ladies, I need some help/advice lol. Is anyone else always hungry lol ? I cant help it.

I have toast or some cereal for my breakfast then a snack before my lunch normally biscuits or a cereal bar and fruit, then my lunch either soup and a yoghurt or a sandwich or something and crisps. About half 1. But then like now im hungry again lol. This is my problem around this time I want to snack all the time. But im just worried im going to get so fat and I don't want too :(. I could buy healthy snacks but they cost so much more money and I don't fancy them half the time lol.

Could anyone give any advice or tips to help me please ?

Thankyou, I know I shouldn't be worried that much but I just don't want to get too fat as I want to be able to loose it quite quickly afterwards.

xx

QforCucumber · 20/10/2015 15:21

toni I have days where I don't stop eating, I'm just going with it. so far only put on about 3lbs total.

maybebabybee · 20/10/2015 15:23

erm I'm massively jealous of your 3 lbs, Q, I've put on a stone. A stone!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 15:26

But what do you want to eat mines all crap lol ? 3lbs bloody hell your lucky have you got a big bump or not yet. I haven't really weighed myself , I don't want too haha. But I don't like ive put too much on as all my clothes still fit me from before just my jeans are tight now and uncomfortable.

xx

TriJo · 20/10/2015 15:32

Toni More protein and good fats! It sounds like you eat a hell of a lot of carbs and they really don't fill you up as well - I notice a real difference when I eat meat at breakfast versus cereal. Nuts in reasonable quantities are a great snack.

I'm going to split the difference here in terms of gain - I'm up 4kg (around 8-9lbs) and it's ALL since 12 weeks - 18+2 now.

QforCucumber · 20/10/2015 15:33

My trousers won't button up, or zip at all!

I'm having crumpets for breakfast, orange/apple at about half 9, dairylea and a mini pepperami at about 11 ish, a quiche or a ham and cheese sarnie etc at lunchtime, since lunch today i've had a packet of crisps, a yogurt, some chewits, a caramel rocky and a huge chunk of wensleydale cheese haha.
Won't have much tonight, probably a lasagne and salad - but i seem to have gone off big meals and prefer just picky stuff so who knows I'll probably change my mind by tea time and just have a toastie or something.

(so basically living off absolute crap - with some good thrown in too haha)

TheMshipIsBack · 20/10/2015 15:34

I'm about the same with 3lbs gained - but it's my 2nd, I never lost the weight from DS so the starting point is higher, and I was ill (not just pregnancy nausea, though I had that too - strep throat, a long running cold, sinusitus, and finally an ear infection) continually until about two weeks ago. My BMI is over 30 so I need to minimize the gain for a safer birth. That goal is becoming a lot harder now that I'm feeling better - I'm hungry all the time!

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 15:38

Trijo but im always rushing in the mornings, I get up at 7:15 and have to leave at the latest 8:15 otherwise id be stuck in traffic and be late for work. So toast is just easy as it only takes a couple of minutes and I eat it when im getting ready or as im walking out of the door. What could I make like the night before or something so its easier for me in the mornings ? Also what about lunches I hate doing lunch I never know what to have ? Sorry for the questions lol.

I did buy some nuts and raisins which I keep forgetting to bring to my work for snacks.

I will weigh myself tonight and let you know how much ive put on fingers crossed lol

xx

Rosieblossom123 · 20/10/2015 15:42

I'm the same here, I'm constantly hungry never ever satisfied I keep snacking like there's no tomorrow!

QforCucumber · 20/10/2015 15:44

I'm up at 7 and leave the house at 7:40,

when I was doing LCHF i'd have ham slices wrapped up with cottage cheese or a slice of a vegetable fritatta that I'd make on a Sunday for brekkie - kept me full for ages!

TriJo · 20/10/2015 15:53

Toni You can do things like making eggy muffins - something like this the night before and then just grab them out of the fridge in the morning. Try putting things like avocado on your toast too.

BeautifulLiar · 20/10/2015 15:55

I'm eating loads too! And mostly carbs, as usual...

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 16:01

qforcucumber I had crumpets this morning, then a cake for my snack as my boss bought us all one lol and there is a bakery 2 doors away from my office never good !! Then I had vegetable soup and 2 plums and an apple. That's it so far, but I've got chocolate and crisps in my draw and there tempting lol.

xx

maybebabybee · 20/10/2015 16:01

Eggs are very filling actually - I had a frittata for lunch on Sunday and it kept me going until dinner which is highly unusual. I'm a massive snacker at the moment.
