Good luck with all the scans today! I don't think the full bladder is really needed. I had a wee right before and picture was as clear as anything.

Finding another boys name is proving very hard. I loved my girls name choice- Naomi, but have nothing for a boy.

marmitemofo · 20/10/2015 09:31

my scan isn't until 4.15pm! so I've got a long wait and I'm basically going to get nothing done at work today

good luck everyone else having their scans today! I think this week we have a lot of scans coming up, it's very exciting!

mthship I agree desk jobs are not great for backs, or posture in fact, or baby positioning! I've actually replaced my desk chair with an exercise ball, and it's helped loads. You could maybe do the same?

TriJo · 20/10/2015 09:58

This morning can go and eat a bag of dicks, just felt like everything was going wrong. Woke at 6 for a bathroom run, then when I got back asleep I had a dream that we lost the baby. Had a bit of a meltdown near the end of my driving lesson because I had a total "fuck, I can't do anything right" moment. Got on the tube and there were around 30 private school 13 year olds being little shits in the way that 13 year olds normally are and had accents that felt like they were running nails down my eardrum.

Can someone pass the emergency Haagen-Dazs?

JustTheOneThanks · 20/10/2015 10:01

your day can only get better!

Scan went perfect and found out that we are having a boy Grin

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 10:01

Hello Everyone,

I had my scan yesterday wasn't late this time !! It was all perfect, I love seeing my little man playing away in my belly , heart beating away all amazing. The feeling you have when you see them on the screen is overwhelming isn't it. I absolute love it. Im so in love already Smile

Lovely scan pictures everyone, its amazing how clear they all are. You can see everything cant you. I loved it yesterday seeing everything to do with my little man and everything was perfect.

I will put my picture up later as at work at the moment.

xx

marmitemofo · 20/10/2015 10:27

aww congrats justtheone and tonideanna. It does seem like we are having quite a lot of boys on this thread! Very excited to find out this afternoon. Me and DP were talking about names last night again, he's keen on Scarlett but I'm really not, what would you shorten it to? Lettie? god, sounds far too posh (apologies if anyone is called Lettie in real life Confused.)

I'm with you trijo this day can just do one. Think I'm coming down with a cold and I have a massive headache, and have to go and teach a two hour lecture at 11. It's also on the other side of campus which is almost a mile away! My boss had asked them that they move my lecture room when I told her in Sept that I was pregnant but they said 'rooms were booked in the Spring and you should have told us then' errrrm so I was supposed to tell them pre-conception that I wanted to move the room, yes thanks for that Angry

ugh just can't be bothered with today at all! roll on 4.15pm and my scan Grin

BeautifulLiar · 20/10/2015 10:49

Congrats girls on your scans/boys! Literally everyone I know in the past 2 years or so has had boys... i bet they win on here!

Erm marmite I'm called Lettie Hmm ha no not really. I actually like Scarlett but would never use it because... wait for it... both me and DH have a tendency to blush and I couldn't bear for people to comment on her going red and making the connection to Scarlett! Silly I know!

Paper PFBs are amazing xx

Rhubarb you can steal my boy's name if you like? Rex? Wink I actually think DH has only X chromosomes... there's only a 25% chance of a couple having three babies the same sex so we seem to be in the minority! Although I know loads of people with only boys Confused

TriJo - that sounds like a pretty gross morning! Hope you've managed to chill out a bit now.

I'm not planning on filling my bladder for the scan tomorrow - wasn't told to and luckily my tummy is quite skinny so I'm sure they'll get a clear enough pic. And that wasn't a stealth boast - my arse could rival Beyonce's!!

Apparently the consultant is going to look at my notes tomorrow and decide whether I'll need growth scans or not. I've had them with the other three as I always seem to measure behind.

Oh yeh, the post natal bleed :( it's like punishment for having 9 months of no periods!1

BeautifulLiar · 20/10/2015 10:50

Ffaux - I don't speak to my mum anymore but she sounds similar to yours. Seriously if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all!! Xx

QforCucumber · 20/10/2015 11:29

Argh can't wait for tomorrow, today at work is dragging like hell!

just had a brief chat with my boss and think the 19th Feb is going to be my last day, then a week annual leave and then begin maternity from the 29th Feb - all going well.

They'll be looking at advertising for a temp after Xmas, just in case I have to go off earlier or something.

We have a shortlist of boys names - my favourite though is George, but I just don't know if it's too popular.
Shortlist of 4 girls names but have no real favourite on there so think it'll probably change a lot over the next few months.

DP's friend had a baby girl yesterday, and any day now we are due a niece from his brother and SIL - it's all so exciting!

marmitemofo · 20/10/2015 12:12

I love the name George! Unfortunately, when I was a kid I suggested it as a name for my family dog and it was chosen so he was a much beloved member of the family until about 5 years ago, so DP says we can't name baby after our a dog! It wouldn't be, but to be fair he has a point in all my family would be like "George... Like our dog?!" Haha.

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 12:14

Aww good luck marmite, yes ive noticed there is lots of little boys Smile

Good luck for your scan tomorrow beautifulliar. What do you reckon baby is boy or girl ?

xx

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 12:16

Good luck qforcucumber - when is your due date ?

xx

BeautifulLiar · 20/10/2015 12:18

Thanks Toni :) scan is at 3pm. I thought it was a boy but found out at 16 weeks it's a girl! Hope to have this confirmed tomorrow... v happy!

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 12:21

Not long now beautifuliar its so exciting seeing them on the screen, heart beating away. Aww congratulations a little princess. I found out early too but when I went yesterday I had to have it confirmed just encase lol

xx

BeautifulLiar · 20/10/2015 12:27

See for some reason I just can't get excited!! Don't know what is up with me!! Is it totally amazing then? :)

dobbythedoggy · 20/10/2015 12:30

marmite I used to look after a Scarlett who's name was shortened to Scarly, which suited her as a toddler. Her first and surname were actually both double barrled, so was a little girl with a big name!

I like names that give a bit of choice children as they get older. So dd has a name that has three other common shortening of her names as well as her full name to choice from. I love Theodore; Theo or Teddy at the moment, also Robert shortened to Bobby (but no chance as Robert was dh's childhod bully), possably Edward, Thomas. Dh doesn't want to disscuss names at the moment and is all for going for one of my granddad's name we'd discussed as a possability when I was pregnant with dd. But I prefure it as a middle name now.

Very glad I haven't had to think about maternity leave this time around. When I was pregnant with dd I worked up until 38+3 and really wanted to go into work the first and only day off I had before my c-section at 39 weeks.

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 12:44

Yeah I get really excited and happy when im seeing my little man. I absolutely love it Smile. Seeing him growing and doing well.

Have you had a scan yet ?

xx

TheMshipIsBack · 20/10/2015 12:51

Lettie is really cute, I think, and Scarlett makes for a good grown-up name. I always do the CV test - does it look alright at the top of a professional CV?

We've chosen Tamsin May for our little girl. May was my DMIL's mum's name - she died of breast cancer when DH was little, and everyone says how gentle and kind she was. Plus I like making DMIL cry happy tears, which she absolutely will when she finds out when baby arrives - she's such a sweetheart. Our families tend to use family names for middle names and go a little off piste for first names. DS's name starts with 'G', so our kids will be a very mumsnetty G&T.

Lots of boys on this thread! Hope the rest of today's scans go well!

TheMshipIsBack · 20/10/2015 12:53

Oh yes, and the exercise ball is arriving next week - I used one from ~6 months last time and will start earlier this time. I'm stopping work at 36 weeks (2 weeks annual leave, then mat leave). With a 3 year old to run around after, I'll be exhausted if I don't.

MyNameIsSuz · 20/10/2015 12:58

Back from my scan, all perfect Smile Sonographer was great and talked about everything she was checking and what she was looking for, which was really nice. And it's a GIRL!!! She said they could only say with 70% certainty (80% for a boy) but when she had another look she said she was 95% sure. I'm so shocked, this pregnancy is so similar to ds I was sure it was another boy. I'm delighted though!

marmitemofo · 20/10/2015 13:02

Congrats suz Grin

QforCucumber · 20/10/2015 13:03

toni am due 10th March, we won't be finding out so all going to be a big surprise on the day.

We have middle names chosen so looking towards either George William (Dp's 2 grandpas) or Robyn Edith (Edith was my granny who passed when I was only 7 weeks pregnant and didn't get chance to tell her - she brought me and my brothers up since primary school and so it really breaks my heart that she didn't know)

DP doesn't know if he is overly keen on Robyn though which is making me doubt it a little too.

Will just have to see.

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 13:05

Aww congratulations suz another little girl, we need more girls on here the boys are over taking lol
xx

Tonideanna123 · 20/10/2015 13:15

Aww im due the 2nd March , oo I would of liked to have a surprise as that must be a amazing feeling when you give birth and they tell you if baby is a boy or girl. But I couldn't wait I wanted to find out lol , so I could go buy pink or blue.
There nice names and what a lovely tribute to your granddads and granny , im sure she will love it Smile. I like Robyn its nice

xx

BeautifulLiar · 20/10/2015 13:15

Congrats Suz!! One of each! Fantastic news, and glad you're on my team Wink

Cucumber I'm using my late grandma's name (Audrey) as a middle name too. Except it doesn't go well with the first name, and the initials are a little dodgy, so I'm going to throw in a shortened version of my name too (Kate). I'm a little scared as none of our other DC have two middle names. It'll be ok right?!

I have had three scans Toni! I was v excited for those. My last baby's 20 week scan was a nightmare and the sonographer was rude so I think that's taken the excitement out of this one! :(
