Lay back down this morning after whacking snooze, only to be interrupted by what was definitely a single short, sharp kick! Lots of movement yesterday too, I think little one is trying to make its presence felt at 18 weeks! (18+1 today)

RhubarbAndMustard · 19/10/2015 09:47

Thanks Hayley! Good luck to Paper too. I will be finding out gender if baby is compliant. Will of course let you all know Grin.

Am very excited but a bit nervous too. Got to wait until 3:30 and so far have only managed to go through my emails as just can't concentrate on work.

QforCucumber · 19/10/2015 10:34

Good Luck All!!!

8:20am Wednesday for us, won't be finding out so more just for peace of mind to make sure all is well really.
Definitely making itself known now with a good few nudges when I'm laid on the sofa, DP hasn't felt anything yet though.

Can't believe how we are almost all halfway there.

Tonideanna123 · 19/10/2015 11:53

Hello Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on here since Thursday ive been so ill with a cold/flu its been horrible. Couldn't do anything all weekend, felt like complete crap !! Back to work today though :(. Still not 100% but getting better thankfully. I hate being ill and pregnant I am always worrying about my little man.

Welcome Flen- I have a due date buddy now, im also the 2nd March Smile. Hope everything's going well

Oh yes so on Thursday I couldn't have my scan could I as I was late, I cried on Thursday as I wanted to see him so badly and had been looking forward to it :( I know its silly but my hormones must be everywhere lol. So they have rebooked it for today at 3:40. Im so excited to see my little man, but this will be the last time until his really here :(. Unless I might have another 4d scan im not sure yet lol.

Hope everyone is well and all the scan pics are lovely congrats everyone xx

dobbythedoggy · 19/10/2015 13:04

Well if I've got my caluclations right, yesterday I crossed the halfway point. 20+5 today, and will be booked for an elcs at 41 weeks if I don't go into labour naturally. Quite nice to know that bump will be here by 9th March next year.

toni my bil has just offered to pay for a 4d scan for us. Not sure if we'll take him up on the offer yet as his also being really kind and buying us another pushchair. The place that does private scans near to us has just start to offer 3d prints from the 4d scans, but bil has made me promise not to look up the cost so think it really must be eye watering. I've got another scan booked at the hosiptal in two weeks time as bump wouldn't get in the right position for most of the measurments to be taken, then atleast another with consultant later on.

flen I'm due 2nd of march too. Second for me, hope you can relax a little for the rest of your pregnancy. I'm too feeling a but overwhelmed with family asking what we would like. Had a mc just before getting pregnant again and have been much more anxious this time, feels strange thinking about making choices for this baby. People want to know what we need but I'm not quite ready to sort through all dd's baby things quite yet, althoug I'm sure it won't do bump any harm if he ends up wearing the odd pink vest or sleep suit! If you've not come across it there is a pregnancy after mc thread on the pregnancy board which is really supportive.

Tonideanna123 · 19/10/2015 14:19

Hello dobby , I have already had a 4d scan to find out early the sex of my little boy. It was absolutely amazing !! That's why Im thinking about having another one, it truly is overwhelming. Aww naughty bump but at least you get to see him/her again in 2 weeks Smile. Oh your due 2nd March too that's 3 of us then. Do they tell you at 20 week scan when your be booked in if baby hasn't come by a certain date ?

xx

Paperblank · 19/10/2015 15:25

Here's baby Grin

What a lovely clear scan pic Paper! Are you going to find out privately or keep it a surpise now?

Just wondering: How much is everyone drinking before their 20 week scans? My letter was it was ''vital'' to have a full bladder, but at my 12 week scan my bladder was apparently too full. Wondering if one glass of water would be enough or if I should be aiming for pints like the last letter suggested. What's everyone else doing?

MyNameIsSuz · 19/10/2015 15:46

I have my scan at 9.30 tomorrow, and the childminder has just texted that she's ill and can't take ds tomorrow. Argh! Not sure if we'll be able to find last minute childcare. And I had taken tomorrow afternoon off for some shopping and was really looking forward to it, I really feel like crying which is so pathetic. I don't get many chances to go out by myself doing something I want to do, I'd been looking forward to it for weeks Sad

ThePug · 19/10/2015 15:46

hayley my appointment letter says "drink 1 - 1.5 pints of water one to two hours before your appointment". Mine too was too full at the 12 week scan and had to go and partially empty (easier said than done!!) twice so baby had more space and she could see properly. As my scan is at 8.30am I'm definitely not getting up at 6.30 to start drinking, so will have a couple of glasses of water with breakfast and take a bottle with me to keep sipping from. I've had scans at my consultant appointments along the way without a full bladder and they've been able to see ok.

MyNameIsSuz · 19/10/2015 15:48

And Hayley, I tend to just drink normally then a bottle of water on the way, so for about 40 minutes beforehand. Wouldn't want to get desperate if they're running late!

dobbythedoggy · 19/10/2015 15:55

Hi toni they have for me because I'm hoping to try for a vbac, midwife worked out dates for me at my booking in appointment. So the current plan is to be booked in for 41 weeks if I haven't gone into labour naturally at 40 weeks I'll have another c-section rather than fight to be incuded. Very glad I know he'll be here by the 9th March as with dd c-section at 39 weeks was perfect timing, I was just about done with being pregnant by that point. The idea of going over due would have been scarry! I'm quite tempted by the idea of 4d, but have said to dh I'll wait and see if they manage to get any pictures of bump at the hospital first. This will be my 5th scan this time around with at least one more planed, so feels quite excessive.

hayley our antinatal until advise for you to be comfortablly full but not bursting for 20 week scan. Although the letters they send out say it's vital to have a full blader! Think I drank a 500ml bottle of water in the hour or so before my last scan and they had a good veiw, bump just refused to coopirate.

BeautifulLiar · 19/10/2015 16:18

Suz - seriously that is exactly the kind of thing I cry over!! Im guessing there are no friends/family members who can help? I would if I was near - I've got a child free day tomorrow!!

Well DH went to the GP and had to have an x ray... they think he has a broken foot so I guess he wasn't just being lazy! Oops. He's been signed off work for two weeks and his horrible boss is fuming. Ha!

MangoJuiceTillMarch · 19/10/2015 16:23

Good afternoon ladies,

I've been lurking for weeks now. I lurk because I'm so so so far behind everyone else. Edd of March 29th, so it's cool to just read everyone's else's experience

But thought I'd drop in today to say hi and share something I randomly found.

There's a website called www.bumdeal.co.uk

It basically lists out, which supermarket's/websites are doing the best deals on nappies or wipes. They also have an app for Android (I assume there's one for iOs too)

I guess it'll be useful for those in the group with little ones still in nappies and who are looking for the best deals, but also for those of us that might be thinking of stocking up on a few bits before baby arrives.

I know, people say to wait and see what works well for baby, but for things like wipes that'll probably be used for more than babies bottom, this could be useful.

MyNameIsSuz · 19/10/2015 16:37

Aww thanks Beautiful! We do have family nearby but all will be working tomorrow, I'll be asking friends next. Hopefully I'll be able to find someone to take him for the morning, but it would be majorly taking the piss to stay out all day because I want to go shopping! So I'll have to come right home. I desperately need new bras and was going to get measured in bravissimo, I have no idea what size I need so can't internet it.

Oh no about your dh, will that mean he's around to help out a bit more though?

BeautifulLiar · 19/10/2015 16:43

He's still living at his parent's, got college exams and has to rest his foot, so can't do a lot, but yes he'll be around more! :)

I bought some new bras and knicks today... was it Me who said her pants were digging into her hips?! I totally have the same issue Blush

TriJo · 19/10/2015 16:49

Suz Try the A Bra That Fits subreddit and their methods - you should get something very close to your true size there.

Paperblank · 19/10/2015 16:54

Hayley we're not going to find out...we're planning on a surprise Grin

I was folding up my washing yesterday and have put all my current small pants in a box in the wardrobe. I have embraced the bridgets....now is a time for comfort not sexy pants

OP posts:
BeautifulLiar · 19/10/2015 17:00

Shit Paper don't say that - I bought sexy pants, just in a size bigger... Blush

Paperblank · 19/10/2015 17:06

Honestly - take them back and buy granny pants. You're only gonna get bigger and you will need something with a substantial gusset very soon!! Oh the glamour!

but I am NOT giving in to the saggy baggy boulder holders

OP posts:
RhubarbAndMustard · 19/10/2015 17:21

All well at the scan. And it's.........Team Blue!! Can't believe I'm going to have 2 boys. Grin All the indications suggested girl so forget the craving/heart beat speed predictions!

On my report it does say that the Abdominal Circumference is over the 95th centile but all other measurements normal and then 'TCA 2 weeks to check growth'. But she didn't mention any of this with me, just said all was fine. Might check in with midwife though just to be sure.

March 2016 Babies! Here's thread #5!!
sherazade · 19/10/2015 18:10

Congrats rhubarb another boy !! Exciting !!

BeautifulLiar · 19/10/2015 18:10

Rhubarb - congratulations on your second son! And what a gorgeous pic :)

"Substantial gusset" aaahahaha!!! Fucking hell that's good. Paper I wasn't planning on buying anything like that until I'm post partum Shock am I forgetting something?!

Me624 · 19/10/2015 18:26

Beautiful yes it is me who needs new pants, I didn't have a chance to get them today though! I am firmly in the granny knicker camp too Grin

Congrats Rhubarb on your boy! Best check with the midwife about the scan results as you say. I think a very high abdominal measurement can be an indication of GD? So they'll probably want to monitor you.

All this stuff about bladders seems to vary so much! I wasn't told anything about having a full bladder and in fact I went to the loo right before my scan! It didn't seem to affect it in any way.

MyNameIsSuz · 19/10/2015 18:27

Yay rhubarb, congratulations!

I need new pants too, only because the bottom of my bump, really low down over the pelvis, is really sore and current pants are scratching me.
