Babies hear best found and cervix closed. She wrote in my notes though soft though? Is it supposed to be?
She also banged on about miscarriage like it was a certainty kept telling me how it wasn't my fault etc, heartbeat 144.

Beat

MotherKat · 15/10/2015 16:16

Today is pregnancy and infant loss rememberance day Ginger, it was probably just on her mind, I doubt she meant to scare you. X

Tonideanna123 · 15/10/2015 18:10

beautifulliar - I might still have to have a look at them cribs, I love the idea of them sleeping right next to you and when you wake up you turn round and their there.

rosie- thankyou but unfortunately I couldn't have my scan done as I was late and they wanted me to wait over an hour for another one or re book it so I rebooked. As partner is really ill and didn't want to be in the hospital any longer than he had too. It should be within a week at latest as your 20 week scan is meant to be done by 20 weeks 6 days xx

Rosieblossom123 · 15/10/2015 20:10

Oh no Toni :( well let's hope they book you in soon hun!! Scan is tomorrow and I'm getting so excited but nervous too :(

dobbythedoggy · 15/10/2015 20:36

toni I bf dd, but worked as a nursery nurse for years so feel like I've seen every type and shape of bottle around. Tommie tippie closer to nature are lovely, one of the easiest for little ones to handle too once they want to get a bit of independence. Dr browns are really good if you have a colicly baby, but tommie tippie do make a similar anti colic straw type thing too. I really liked nubby bottles, although dd only tollirated them for a few weeks for the odd expressed feed before moving onto a doddy cup. Any bottles will fit in a tommie tippie sterizler but tommie tippie bottles are a pain to fit in any other brand. Best advice I think is to start off with just the basics and see what your baby takes to.

I love the idea of a next to me cot, but the cost just wouldn't be justafiable. Although think we could pretty easily side car the cot bed we already have if we need to. Dd was pretty good at sleeping in there, until she hit 6 months: then she'd only sleep in our bed!

Glad all still seems well ginger. It's hard not to worry when you can't see what's going on. Had a bit of a wobble today about not having felt any big kicks from the outside. Loads of other movements but couldn't relax until I felt a decent kick when I finally lay streched out after putting dd to bed.

Woke up this morning to a message my nan had to be rushed into the city hospital for emergency surgery. It's amazing she survived it so she's been so ill recently. She's terminal, although chemo has given her a bit more time (hopefully?), but has been trying to get home from the cottage hospital ward she was in since reacting badly to the last round almost 6 weeks ago. My poor mum got a phone call late last night and rushed 350 miles up country to be with her sister. Been busy today trying to sort out bits for her at home. Had a mad rush trying to find a taxi to do the airport run for my dad for the early hours tomorrow as mum was meant to be driving him and his been busy with his boss sorting out last minute things before their trip. But she is apparently comfortable and as well as can be expected, and has completely forgotten the events of last night.

Just have to make sure I remember to feed mum and dad's cats until one of them gets home.

Missdee2014 · 15/10/2015 20:49

Will catch up on thread in bed later just wanted to give a wee update. I'm home about an hour from leaving the house at 11.45 this morning to go to the midwife for another BP check. Result was sent straight to the outpatients at the maternity unit as my BP was still through the roof ShockEnded up getting bloods taken and given some meds to bring it down. Came down a bit eventually at 6.30 tonight so got to go home and back to see the consultant on Wednesday to see how they are going to manage it going forward.

Me624 · 15/10/2015 21:08

Sorry you didn't get your scan today toni hope they manage to rebook it soon.

Ginger glad the baby is ok.

One more sleep Rosie! I've had such a busy day today, I've only just left work having got in at 7.30am this morning! It's kept my mind off tomorrow completely though so no chance to get nervous. Shame we both have to wait until late afternoon!

IndomitabIe · 15/10/2015 23:17

Glad to see your DH is back on track Beaut!

For those worried about the cost of the cosleeping cots, I saw this IKEA crib cosleeper hack. Of course, read the safety disclaimers. The cot itself is £35, and I think it's something we'll definitely consider.

Actually, I'd pay £100 for a cosleeper given how important getting actual sleep is/was. If it helps, I will pay! But you're right about that lip. I want a nice smooth transfer surface!

My 20 week scan has been moved (boo). I'm no booked for the 10th Nov (instead of 5th) because I've got to see the consultant about my previous tear. Confused

Missikat · 15/10/2015 23:47

Hope you're ok Missdee, how scary for you. Fingers crossed it stays down and they get to the bottom of it.

Massive congrats on all those of you who've had your scans - Sher, on your little boy, welcome Toni and congrats on your little man and TheMship on your little girl! How exciting.

Trijo, I know what you mean about maternity swimwear. If you have big boobs you can now finally get bra sized non maternity swimwear so why not in maternity when boobs grow out of control? Mine must be heading for a 34H now after starting at 32g/gg, just about managing to squeeze into my prepreg tankini but not for much longer!

Ginger, I'm glad to hear all is well. It sounds very worrying. I think it sounds like some counselling could def help your anxiety.

I'm a bit worried as still can't feel baby. I'm 19+3 today and thought I must be getting something by now. Haven't had any bleeding/cramps etc so hoping all is well. Will find out next Wednesday at scan I guess. Good luck to those with their scan tomoz! Xxx

Missikat · 15/10/2015 23:50

Woops my mistake Toni, sorry about you not being able to have your scan, hope it gets booked in ASAP.

Dobby, so sorry to hear about your nan. How stressful for your whole family, thinking of you xxx

marmitemofo · 16/10/2015 07:04

missikat try not to stress about not feeling movement yet! Its entirely within the normal time frame still. And the chances of anything going wrong but having no signs (I.e. bleeding) are incredibly incredibly low. Is it your first? You may just not be noticing movement yet.

Sorry to hear about your nan dobby, that sounds really stressful. Flowers

I woke up at 5 am today! Sad what is going on with this pregnancy insomnia Angry bloody knackered. DP is back from work trip today thankfully, going to Heathrow this morning to pick him up. DD is very excited, she woke up this morning shouting 'come back daddy' and when I went in to get her I told her we'd see daddy today and she said 'we're going to pick him up from the airport' with a big grin on her face. So cute! She's such a daddy's girl though will always go to daddy over me!

Me624 · 16/10/2015 08:02

misskat still nothing here either at 20 weeks exactly. I have my scan this afternoon so will ask where my placenta is. My friend who is due soon has hers at the front and she said she felt nothing until 22/23 weeks.

Missikat · 16/10/2015 08:14

Thanks Marmite, I know it's still in the normal range but I think as it is no 2 and I felt DS from 18 weeks I was expecting to feel this one earlier. At least something! Hoping it's because maybe I've got an anterior placenta. Guess I'll have to wait til wed to find out!

TheMshipIsBack · 16/10/2015 08:48

Missi & Me, I had anterior placenta the first time and didn't really feel anything till 22 weeks. This time it's high posterior and I was very surprised to feel flutters at 13 weeks. Huge variability!

Missdee wishing you well - the stress of having one high BP reading can sometimes contribute to keeping it up there. It might be that just having some sleep and letting your body relax will bring it down on its own. I had a couple of BP spikes in my first pregnancy when I was worried about other test results, but it always came back to normal after a day or so.

Rosieblossom123 · 16/10/2015 09:16

Me today is the day Grin woop! I can't remember if anyone else had their scan today?

I know what you mean about waiting until late afternoon but at least we're working and keeping busy let's hope today doesn't drag!!

Woke up at 5 this morning and now I'm at work feeling like a zombie Sad

BeautifulLiar · 16/10/2015 09:26

Good luck Rosie and Me!

It's normal not to feel movements yet, don't worry. I started feeling them this week and it's my fourth baby! I'm 19 weeks.

Last night was amazing.. the baby must have grown quite a bit in just 24 hours as the bedtime movements were noticeably stronger.

Misdee - hope you're feeling ok and Dobby, sorry to hear about your nan.

Rosieblossom123 · 16/10/2015 09:36

Thanks Beautiful I've been noticing lots of flutters but no strong movements yet!

Missdee Hope you're feeling okay today!

Missikat · 16/10/2015 10:39

Good luck Rosie and Me for today! Remind me, are you finding out gender or not? Xx

Me624 · 16/10/2015 10:51

I'm finding out Misskat! I was having very boy gut feelings until yesterday when I decided that it's bound to be a girl to prove my gut feelings wrong!

Rosieblossom123 · 16/10/2015 10:54

Missikat I'm finding out as well, got a feeling it's a girl but dp is convinced he can only have boys because he has two brothers and a son, there's no girls in the family haha we'll see! We're letting them write the sex on a piece of paper and we'll reveal it tomorrow morning with family.

vroc81 · 16/10/2015 11:54

Wow you lot have been busy in my 24hrs at a conference! Bit freaked out there were a few people who congratulated me yesterday and I had no idea who they were.. Clearly been talking to my boss.. I was feeling quite smug to be still going strong at midnight but feeling it today, could just lie me head down on my desk... Blush

Good luck with Me and Rosie with the scans!

Marmite hope the traffic to Heathrow isn't too much of a nightmare!

Missdee hope you're feeling ok today.

Rosieblossom123 · 16/10/2015 12:28

vroc thanks hun :)

Same here my managing director came in the office two days ago and congratulated me I was so shocked and then knew straight away it's my boss that's been spilling the beans!

TriJo · 16/10/2015 12:34

Missikat I'm close to pulling the trigger on the Freya Swim Active (non-maternity but sporty) bikini, the pink one is working out at 28 quid total on Amazon at the moment and I'm planning to stuff my now-30Js into a 32H top. Just let the bump hang out tbh...

We have yet more visitors from Ireland this weekend, looking forward to a quiet one next week tbh... even if my DH has been sneakily looking at RWC semi final tickets :o

Paperblank · 16/10/2015 12:43

DH has decided that we need to decorate the lounge and so this morning we have started what joy I am horrified at the dust bunnies under my sofa but trying to convince him we need new curtains isn't working....

Baby is fluttering Grin probably high on paint fumes!
