toni I bf dd, but worked as a nursery nurse for years so feel like I've seen every type and shape of bottle around. Tommie tippie closer to nature are lovely, one of the easiest for little ones to handle too once they want to get a bit of independence. Dr browns are really good if you have a colicly baby, but tommie tippie do make a similar anti colic straw type thing too. I really liked nubby bottles, although dd only tollirated them for a few weeks for the odd expressed feed before moving onto a doddy cup. Any bottles will fit in a tommie tippie sterizler but tommie tippie bottles are a pain to fit in any other brand. Best advice I think is to start off with just the basics and see what your baby takes to.
I love the idea of a next to me cot, but the cost just wouldn't be justafiable. Although think we could pretty easily side car the cot bed we already have if we need to. Dd was pretty good at sleeping in there, until she hit 6 months: then she'd only sleep in our bed!
Glad all still seems well ginger. It's hard not to worry when you can't see what's going on. Had a bit of a wobble today about not having felt any big kicks from the outside. Loads of other movements but couldn't relax until I felt a decent kick when I finally lay streched out after putting dd to bed.
Woke up this morning to a message my nan had to be rushed into the city hospital for emergency surgery. It's amazing she survived it so she's been so ill recently. She's terminal, although chemo has given her a bit more time (hopefully?), but has been trying to get home from the cottage hospital ward she was in since reacting badly to the last round almost 6 weeks ago. My poor mum got a phone call late last night and rushed 350 miles up country to be with her sister. Been busy today trying to sort out bits for her at home. Had a mad rush trying to find a taxi to do the airport run for my dad for the early hours tomorrow as mum was meant to be driving him and his been busy with his boss sorting out last minute things before their trip. But she is apparently comfortable and as well as can be expected, and has completely forgotten the events of last night.
Just have to make sure I remember to feed mum and dad's cats until one of them gets home.
