Paper my baby is fluttering too!! Have you just eaten lunch? Grin

I'm DESPERATE to paint my bedroom the lines from tester pots are still there from the day before BFP but I read you shouldn't?? Can I?!

Trinpy · 16/10/2015 15:49

I hope the scans went well today.

You know we were talking about the girl/boy heart rate theory? Well my cousin is pregnant and was apparently told by a hcp (possibly mw?) that she was having a girl because the baby had a faster heart rate! They don't want to find out at the 20 week scan so they won't know for sure until the birth but I still maintain that its all a load of crap Grin. I sort of want our baby to be a boy with a fast heartbeat now so I can prove the theory wrong!

I might be a bit quiet on here over the next few days because I'm staying at PiL's at the moment and the wifi is veeery slow. Good luck to anyone who has a scan coming up.

Missikat · 16/10/2015 16:20

Trijo, I wish I felt confident enough to just go in a bikini (it's mums and babies swimming that I attend weekly rather than swimming for myself!) but stomach got a bit ruined by DS's pregnancy. I wouldn't mind getting it out on the beach but not so keen in a pool! Has anyone else had any luck with maternity swimwear (either swimsuit or tankini) for GG/H boobs?

Can't wait to hear about today's scans, hope all is well with the babies.

marmitemofo · 16/10/2015 16:20

good luck to everyone who is having scans this afternoon!

Trip to heathrow was ok although there were some really awful drivers on the M4, christ. I got quite sweary and then felt bad as obvs DD was in the back listening to every word Blush. thank fuck DP is back as I was about to keel over from exhaustion, have had a ridiculously busy week at work this week on top of doing childcare by myself!

my stomach has been really achey today, lots of internal pressure and achey muscles, feel like baby is maybe having a growth spurt and my ever expanding belly is going to get even bigger! I was absolutely starving yesterday so wonder if that was why. i'm seriously starting to get worried about how big I'm going to get this time.. I'm being careful to eat well and exercise lots and still am expanding at a faster and faster rate Confused

marmitemofo · 16/10/2015 16:21

missikat my slazenger maternity swimsuit (size 16) is fine on my FF/G boobs...

Missikat · 16/10/2015 16:24

Beautiful, I think as long as you keep the room well ventilated it's fine. You can buy special low emission (or whatever it is) paint but it's very expensive. I painted two rooms when preg with DS and definitely need to do some in this house before this one arrives.

Rosieblossom123 · 16/10/2015 17:03

Scan went well baby was perfect :) was moving so much at the begging and then fell asleep as soon as we started looking at the private bits haha cheeky monkey! We are still determined to find out so the inlaws booked us a private scan tomorrow at 1:45 and they're coming with us :) hopefully baby behaves tomorrow, most importantly baby was healthy and all organs were functioning as they should. Here's my little squishy!

ThePug · 16/10/2015 17:06

Congratulations Rosie ! I can't believe the sonographer didn't catch sight of the important bits whilst it was still awake. Once they're asleep is it really difficult to get them to wake back up then?!

BeautifulLiar · 16/10/2015 17:13

Thanks missikat. I did paint when pregnant in 2008 but I think it was more "ok" then.

Congrats Rosie - crazy how much they grow! That's nice of the in laws. I'm sure you will find out tomorrow. You're paying for a service and the sonographer will be determined!!

ThePug god my babies sleep through anything. I wouldn't be surprised if a foetus couldn't be woken up actually!!

Rosieblossom123 · 16/10/2015 17:26

Thank you ThePug and Beautiful :) I can't believe how much baby has grown! I was so pissed off at her she was so blunt and was like sorry baby's legs are closed and I thinks it's having a rest, dp looked at me and was so pissed off! We were the last appointment so she wanted to go home, still peed off! Fingers crossed we find out tomorrow I'm not leaving until they find out haha

I hope you're scan went well Me!!

Paperblank · 16/10/2015 17:38

Beautiful If you do decide to decorate open the window and take it steady, no reaching, stretching or climbing ladders please! We've got the lounge, hall, stairs and landing, and the baby's room to paint before bubs arrives (this decorating lark is never ending Confused) Flutterings weren't around lunch today but now you mention it I will look out for them when I eat - normally it's when I go to bed then apparently it's party central in my uterus.

Rosie your scan picture is beautiful!! Hopefully your baby decides to co-operate tomorrow - little monkey Smile

Marmite I've had an achy tummy too, I put it down to stretching and other internal shifting. I've felt a bit nauseas this past couple of days but I suppose that's all the shifting and shoving going on inside?

Hope you're all blooming Flowers xx

Rosieblossom123 · 16/10/2015 17:49

Paper thank you :) fingers crossed, baby's legs were firmly shut as if it didn't want us to know haha little monkey needs to corporate tomorrow as private scans aren't cheap!

Me624 · 16/10/2015 17:51

congrats on your scan Rosie what a lovely picture. Shake you did not get to find out but hopefully tomorrow!

We are just on the way home from ours! Baby did not cooperate at first (had its legs crossed under its bum) but later on it moved and the sonographer got a VERY clear view that it's a .... BOY!

We did not mind which it was but we are very excited to know and we have several boy name options.

All the other measurements looked fine and normal and she confirmed that I have an anterior placenta so that explains why I haven't felt it yet.

We got a few good pics but this one's my favourite because he looks like he's having a good think!

Rosieblossom123 · 16/10/2015 18:09

Yay Me congratulations!! I love your thinking baby boy :) made me smile Grin At least your baby cooperated haha looks like I'm having a very cheeky baby!!

marmitemofo · 16/10/2015 18:52

Congrats me! GrinGrin

Baby was kicking like mad after dinner tonight so I got DP to feel my bump and he felt the baby kick for the first time! Such a lovely moment! Really convinced baby has gone through a growth spurt this week as proper kicks this evening rather than fluttery feelings. Feeling so happy and excited Grin

IndomitabIe · 16/10/2015 19:07

Great scan news Me & Rosie!

My wriggler has gone quiet the last few days. I think there's been a few little nudges, but none of the bigger movements that were noticeable even at work.

Telling myself it'll have moved or turned towards the placenta or something.

BeautifulLiar · 16/10/2015 19:39

Congratulations Me!! Your gut feeling was right!! Lovely news, and I love that pic!

Marmite are we due on the same day?! Movements have also got stronger for me, and DH would've been able to feel the kicks had he been here... also I've had a lot of pain, guessing it's growing/stretching etc but ouch!

Can't wait to go to bed and prod baby into action Grin

BeautifulLiar · 16/10/2015 19:41

Thanks Paper. Hmm might have to leave it then... I'm only 5 foot tall so have to reach for EVERYthing! Blush

RhubarbAndMustard · 16/10/2015 19:56

Congrats Me and Rosie!

Had such an exhausting day taking DS to London and the aquarium today. Never have my PJs looked so good!

Can't wait for my scan on Monday- anyone else's on Monday?

Me624 · 16/10/2015 20:46

Thanks all. Going on a boy clothes shopping spree tomorrow!

Can someone explain centiles to me? I feel like it should be obvious but if he was measuring 26th centile for weight, what does that actually mean? That 74% of babies will be heavier? At the 12 week scan he was measuring a few days behind though so he probably has a bit of catching up to do!

BeautifulLiar · 16/10/2015 20:53

Yeh it means that Me!

My DS is on the 0.2 centile for height :( hope he catches up eventually!!

TheMshipIsBack · 16/10/2015 22:16

No matter what they start out like for height/weight, it can change a lot over the first year! My DS and his cousin were both 9lb and about the same length at birth, similar head circumference (cousin 99th, DS 95th - BIG head babies run in the family!!). DS is 3 now, and since he was about 6 months has tracked almost perfectly on the 60th centile lines for both height and weight. DNephew is just turned 2 and he is quite literally off the charts - well over the 99.5th centile lines. He outweighs DS by 10lb and is only 1cm shorter.

Also keep in mind that weight estimates from ultrasounds are highly error prone!

Me624 · 17/10/2015 00:54

Thanks Beautiful and Mship - I thought that was probably what it meant, but wasn't too sure!

Baby Me is looking reasonably in proportion at the moment - all the measurements came out between 26th and 34th percentile, but I do appreciate it's not very accurate at this stage!

Rosieblossom123 · 17/10/2015 07:13

Thanks everyone Flowers
Been up since 4am damn you insomnia!! So nervous about today's scan I really hope we find out the sex this time everyone is waiting patiently!! Btw I had a look at kiddiecare and they had brilliant nursery offers, might buy a set from there.

BeautifulLiar · 17/10/2015 07:54

Me - I didn't realise they measured the baby centile-wise at the 20 week scan. That's pretty cool.

Rosie - good luck for today! I was awake early too; the DC were fighting over who had won at table football ffs. They know mummy does not get up very early at weekends!!
