Suz I'm jealous of all the pram buying too. We bought our travel system for DS at the baby show from a new brand that I've not actually seen anywhere else since. We can't really justify getting a new one.

QforCucumber · 13/10/2015 15:05

Suz we keep referring to bump as 'he' and don't even know.

FIL thinks we have found out and have some kind of conspiracy against him for not telling him, but seriously we really don't know it's just instinctual. Will be crazy when baby comes if it is actually a girl.

TheMshipIsBack · 13/10/2015 16:09

Awww, pram shopping. Did that last time, it was so much fun. Had an iCandy strawberry, which was a dream to use, but DS loathed the carrycot and he grew out of the seat by 18 months, so we sold it and bought a Babyjogger city mini. We'll just strap baby onto us or use the old city mini for this baby - it lies flat and has car seat adaptors for Maxi Cosi.

Anyway, 20 week scan tomorrow at 19+4, hoping all is well and perhaps we'll get a visual confirmation that baby is a girl (pretty certain already from genetic testing). Considering I've been feeling movement from 13 weeks (I was shocked) and am now getting kicked regularly, I'm feeling positive.

MyNameIsSuz · 13/10/2015 17:15

Q, I do too, but I think it's more because I had a boy last time I can't think of it as anything else. I find out in a week and will be completely shocked if it's a girl!

purplecat27 · 13/10/2015 18:27

Just got back from the 20 week scan (I'm 20+2 today), it was lovely! Baby was fine, everything looked normal (thank goodness!). We were able to get close up looks at both hands and feet, and baby's face. At one point baby lifted their arm and it looked like he/she was actually waving at us! We didn't find out the sex today, although I have 3 growth scans booked so I'm hoping I don't catch a glimpse when everything is getting bigger! We also saw baby opening and closing their mouth and stretching. My placenta is anterior, which I was a little surprised about as I have been feeling movements for about a week and this is my first, although the thing I feel the most are jabs to the bladder, like a sudden urge to wee that lasts a second and then goes again. Baby was upside down today with their head near my right hip and their feet up on the left. I feel so relieved and it made it seem so much more real.

I've just had a little catch up on the thread. Beautiful I think I'm going to buy the Coasatto hold car seat in Moonwood, I think it's a lovely print and is gender neutral without being boring. I've also managed to find it on sale on a site called Uber Kids.

Maybe we're getting a Babyzen Yoyo 0+ too, I saw it and wanted it straight away, I haven't even looked at any other prams. We live in a 2 bed flat and I drive a small car so something that folds up small is a must, and that thing is tiny! My friend thought it looked a little small and wasn't sure how long it would last before baby grew out of it when I showed her the pictures with a baby in it, but it does have great reviews and nobody seems to mention it being too small.

Good luck to everyone else with upcoming 20 week scans.

Me624 · 13/10/2015 18:50

Congrats on your scan purplecat! Is there any reason why you need extra growth scans?

Q and Suz I keep referring to mine as 'he' as well! Just a gut feeling, I'll probably be wrong! I am finding out on Friday at my scan Smile we're going to tell friends and family, but keep the name we choose to ourselves until he/she is here and we definitely know that it suits them!

IndomitabIe · 13/10/2015 18:55

Lovely scan news Purple!

Who mentioned the Babyzen yoyo? (Using the app so can't scroll up to check). That looks great!

We'll use our old Quinny, but that's made me hope for grand gestures from family!

Suz said something that I identified with but now can't remember. Hmm

I had a couple of definite kicks during a meeting this afternoon! Had great shifting so far, but these were proper!

Amazed at you feeling major body parts Beaut!

Can't think of what to say now as DS is hollering "are you coming?" over and over again from upstairs...

IndomitabIe · 13/10/2015 19:04

Oh yeah, what Suz said about the baby's sex.

Although, part of me is utterly convinced this one's a girl as the experience is so different. 3 weeks to wait...

purplecat27 · 13/10/2015 19:27

Hi Me, I need the extra growth scans because a medication that I'm on for a heart rhythm problem can slow baby's growth. If that happens then apparently they'll want the baby out quicker, so I have scans booked at 28, 32 and 36 weeks.

Indomitable Maybe mentioned the Babyzen Yoyo but I've been telling anyone who'll listen about it, it folds up small enough to take as hand luggage on a plane don't you know?!

IndomitabIe · 13/10/2015 19:40

Grin Purple! It certainly is impressive! Not sure if it's £300+ impressive though!

THIS is the one I want though! (Can't afford this one either!)

maybebabybee · 13/10/2015 19:44

Purple congrats on your scan :)

Glad others are getting the babyzen or thinking about it, I was thinking I was the only one!

Missdee2014 · 13/10/2015 21:31

Fab news on the scan Purple! I had another MW appt today and to go back again on Thursday and my BP is still stupidly high at 160/100 Hmm. Got some bloods taken too to check my kidneys/liver can't remember which, due to the high BP and risk of pre eclampsia. MW was really reassuring and said not to worry as if we catch it early enough the BP can be managed with medication. Trying so hard to relax to help bring it down but with everything going on with house move, mums cancer etc it's really not easy!!!

purplecat27 · 13/10/2015 22:23

Wow Indomitable, now THAT is a pram!

Sorry to hear your BP is still high Miss, it's usually your kidneys that don't like high BP so it's good they're checking those. It sounds like you have a lot going on at the moment so don't beat yourself up about your high BP. If you do need medication then it's likely to be similar to the medication that I'm on so you might also need extra growth scans too, I'm actually quite pleased about these as I feel that baby will be closely monitored which can only be a good thing imo!

vroc81 · 13/10/2015 22:29

purple congrats on the scan! Missdee sorry about the bp, hope everything is ok Thursday, although imagine trying to relax with everything you've got going on is easier said than done!

dobbythedoggy · 13/10/2015 23:13

Had to dash out to the shops this afternoon for emergency breast pads, 20 weeks tomorrow and already randomly leaking! I'm sure it was later with dd, but had only just stopped producing bm when I got pregnant, 6 months after dropping dd's last bedtime feed. Must get dh to help me locate my nice washable ones from when I was pregnant with dd. Really hope I didn't randomly decide to throw them out as the ones I managed to pick up today feel like sandpaper.

Strugling to sleep at the moment and having a few strange scarry dreams. Heart burn and leg cramps aren't helping the mater either. Although I've learnt from last time to keep several pillows at the bottom of the bed to keep me from streching too much when I wake up. Poor dh iss swamped by all the pillows it takes to keep me in a comfortable position.

Finished bump's blanket really quickly once I got the yarn. Making dd a similar doll's one as for the first time in months I've actually been able to concentrate. Inspired by the lovely yarn think bump's things are going to have a fishes and under the sea theam. Dd had beautiful ellie and raff things so I think he needs a few bits just for him. Will have to get a few projects for the both of them out of the way incase carple tunnle threatens to set in like it did with dd.

miss hope you can get your bp under control soon, I've a friend a few off weeks of her due date who is struggling with her bp, she's having to be monitered every other day at the moment. Another had it all through pregnancy with her dd, although it was always a worry the right medication kept it undercontrol. I'm not suprised yours is high with everything you've got going on!

March 2016 Babies! Here's thread #5!!
MyNameIsSuz · 14/10/2015 05:06

Omg dobby, lovely blanket, and what a great idea to do a mini one - I might steal that idea! Waiting until next week to start in case I can go mad and use pinks and purples, but also conscious of carpal tunnel setting in - they said it would be worse this time.

Wide awake after a leg cramp Sad I was dead enough at work today, I need this last hour! Doesn't help that caffeine tastes funny to me now so I can't even rely on that.

marmitemofo · 14/10/2015 07:09

Lovely blanket dobby! I knitted a green blanket for DD when she was born and although mini its still good for her now and she loves it! I wasn't going to knit bump one as we had lots of blankets given to us, but now thinking I might knit one in the interests of fairness!

Its past 7am and DS isn't up yet! This is very unusual (she's normally a 5.30-6 kinda girl) but hoping it lasts...

Congrats on successful scan purple! sorry to hear about your high bp miss. Hope they work out what's wrong/get it down.

6 days till my scan whoop can't wait!

Me624 · 14/10/2015 08:10

Hope you get your bp sorted miss. I've got the opposite problem - low blood pressure, but they don't seem to care about that even though I often have to sit down quickly or I know I'll faint!

Beautiful blanket dobby. I can't knit, admire those who do! My gran made a beautiful white crochet blanket for the baby and my mum says she's going to attempt a cardi. A lovely lady at work said she's got her needles out too! So I don't think mine will be deprived of hand knitted things even though I'm useless myself!

I thought I might have felt the baby move last night (finally, at 19+5). However I'm not really sure and think it might just have been wind! It was a bit more of a "pain" than I was expecting - didn't exactly hurt as such but wasn't a nice little fluttery bubbly feeling like some have described. Will just have to keep looking out for it I think!

Paperblank · 14/10/2015 08:18

Morning!!

Dobby you are so clever - I am very envious of you being able to make something so beautiful.

Purple I'm down to have growth scans too - have they booked yours in yet?

Feeling more and more movement - DH is desperate to be able to feel it too. Our 20 week scan is on Monday Grin and were off to John Lewis today to play with prams and then buy one from babies r us

Just quickly putting this on here but will reply to everyone later :) 19+1. Loving my new tits! Sorry to be crude but after 3 breastfed babies they were sag central!

March 2016 Babies! Here's thread #5!!
RhubarbAndMustard · 14/10/2015 08:56

dobby that's a gorgeous blanket. Maybe we could all commission you to make some for us Grin

Lovely bump (and tits) Beautiful!

I think I finally felt first flutters of movement last night too Me. You'd think I'd know as this is number 2, but still very faint. On a less pleasant note I'm off to the Drs this morning. Sorry for tmi but a little irritated down below. Hope its something quick to cure!

Missdee2014 · 14/10/2015 09:06

Dobby that is beautiful! I intend to use my hand knitted shawl that I used for the girls, need to get it dug out though and make sure it's still ok or will need to find a kind soul to make me a new one.

Thanks for everyone's well wishes for my BP. I think for me it's just one of those things that's going to remain high as it did with both of the girls' pregnancies. Nothing I do will likely bring it down I don't expect. My worry is if it doesn't come down they will sign me off my work and I know for a fact that will make it worse cos then I'll be worrying about the money factor as I don't get paid when I'm off and would only get SSP.

Missdee2014 · 14/10/2015 09:22

Purple I'm already down for a growth scan at 28 weeks I think it is because I have 'small babies'. I don't, they were 6lb and 7lb 4oz I'd say they r in proportion to my height of 5' 1! Even the consultant laughed when she said about it because she knew herself hey were in proportion.

Paperblank · 14/10/2015 11:09

I was at a party on Saturday and my friends sister came rushing over to me declaring that my tits were amazing (to be fair they are a righteous rack of fabulousness...) not so much as a hello first!

Bearing in mind it was only the second time I've met her I was a bit ShockConfusedBlush DH and friend were stood behind her pissing themselves.

hayleycookie · 14/10/2015 11:37

Dobby I've had leakage too! I had excess milk with DS1 and started leaking around 21 weeks, so looks like it'll head that way again!

My DS was a whopping 10lb 5oz when he was born!! He was induced 2 weeks after his due date, and no-one expected him to be so big. My bump measured millimeter perfect the whole way through my pregnancy, so this time they're going to offer me a couple of growth scans further along to make sure everything is on track this time!

FINALLY GOT MY SCAN DATE!! I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and my scan is Wednesday 21st at 10.55!! Yaaaay!!!
