Yeah that's true, it's always in the same spot for me too and feels like bubbles haha can't really describe it.

maybebabybee · 09/10/2015 15:57

Should I be worried if I felt a few flutters about a week ago but have had nothing since?

MyNameIsSuz · 09/10/2015 16:18

My midwife said it would only be regular at about 24 weeks and before that not to worry if it comes and goes maybe

maybebabybee · 09/10/2015 16:19

thanks suz, that's reassuring :)

Me624 · 09/10/2015 18:08

I'm definitely showing more these last few days. I seem to be expanding all over though - I've got back fat for the first time Blush wish I could just have a neat little bump!

This time next week I'll have had my scan, yay!

MyNameIsSuz · 09/10/2015 18:24

I didn't think i was showing that much but - milestone alert - I got my first surprise bump touch today! A family friend who I haven't seen for a while. Seems it's universally hated on mn but I don't mind because it's always meant nicely.

BeautifulLiar · 09/10/2015 18:26

I don't mind either Suz :) it's not like their hands can fall into your womb and touch the baby...

Speaking of wombs, mine has been hurting all day, non stop. Not Braxton hicks. I'm assuming it's growing...

JustTheOneThanks · 09/10/2015 18:45

Had a bit of a row with the pharmacy sales assistant today in Boots. Apparently I do not qualify for the free flu jab as I am categorically not pregnant Hmm I had my maternity excemption card in my hand and everything! Sure the counter is high but come on! It was bloody ridiculous, like something out of a comedy sketch Hmm Grin

The growing pains can be awful can't they beautiful

IndomitabIe · 09/10/2015 19:03

Ooh, exciting fluttery news!

My MW found the hb first go today too! HR was 130bpm which is apparently middle of the range. It then moved and we heard the hb respond, increasing noticeably in rate. It was brilliant! And she let me record it for DH too.

Thinking I might get a Doppler. Should I do it? This is my last pregnancy...!

Rosieblossom123 · 09/10/2015 19:23

Indo I bought a Doppler and honestly I do not regret it, everyone kept saying don't but I love it! I use it once a week, it gives me such reassurance to hear squishy' s heartbeat and you could listen to it with your partner too. I love it.

ThePug · 09/10/2015 19:49

Rosie Can you always find the hb quickly? And I'm sure I read somewhere about lots of people actually just picking up the blood flow through the placenta and not the baby's hb - is there any truth in this? Does it sound different? I thought about getting one as they're fairly cheap but don't want to either a) worry myself or b) give myself false reassurance!

docmcstuffins1 · 09/10/2015 20:54

Maybe I also felt flutters at about 17 weeks, then nothing for about 10 days now. Trying not to worry!

julesldn · 09/10/2015 22:23

Rosie - I figured more movement after eating was because of the energy/sugar going straight to the blood stream and giving the baby a wave of energy but maybe that's just my justification!

I'm 20+5 now and still movements are very intermittent and increase after eating and when I'm lying down to go to sleep. Hope that reassumed some of you that aren't as far along! Smile

maybebabybee · 10/10/2015 08:17

Doc it's worrying isn't it!! I've had no reason to suspect anything is wrong but my mind still goes into overdrive Confused

sherazade · 10/10/2015 11:03

I hope adorabeezle is ok, not seen her on this thread yet

Trinpy · 10/10/2015 16:54

Right, which one of you lot has goven me The Cold?? I feel awful and there's nothing pregnant women can take!!! :@

Pug the baby's hearbeat will spund like a thudding beat, obviously much faster than your own hearbeat. Anything else will sound like a whoosing sound. If in doubt, google it and im sure someone will have recorded the difference between the two.

Indom there is a big sign up in my mw's waiting room advising not to use home dopplers because some women have ignored signs that there maybe aomething wrong with the baby (teduced movement, pain, bleeding, etc) because theyre still hearing a heartbeat. However, I used mine during both pregnancies. Mostly just in the early days for reassurance but its a nice way of feeling close to the baby too. Ive only used it twice since the 12 week scan.

Trinpy · 10/10/2015 16:55

Sorry for all the typos. Fat fingers.

QforCucumber · 10/10/2015 17:17

I have the dreadd cold too trinpy it's awful, and I don't know if it's the cold or the hormones making me overly emotional but I've just kicked off at dp as I was due to go out tonight with some friends and he was having his mates here for ps4 and drinking, now I'm ill hes had to cancel and stropping with me - then told me I had better make plans for myself next Saturday instead as he's rearranged for then, am I wrong in thinking I will not be kicked out of my own house when pregnant just so he can play at being a teenager again?! Grrr.
Think I felt some movement yesterday and today, like muscle twitches, only way I can describe it is like when you get a twitch at the side of your eye and it feels all funny. Well like that but about an inch below by belly button and just to the left.

Crispylicious · 10/10/2015 18:01

q that'll be your baby! I've just started to get those twitches and it's just as you describe. Much more pleasant then the full on kicks in the bladder of later on...

Yay for the 20 week scans starting. V exciting. We'll have to keep tally of how many team pink vs team blue!

I had my 16 week scan too yesterday. Was oddly nervous and so pleased to hear the HB. It was 140 so I think boy... I'll feel reassured for about 2 days and then start worrying about the 20 week scan!

Hope those with colds feel better soon.

Crispylicious · 10/10/2015 18:11

And here's my bump pic at 16+5.

March 2016 Babies! Here's thread #5!!
Me624 · 10/10/2015 18:41

Sorry to those with colds. I have been very snuffly the last few days but fingers crossed so far it hasn't developed into anything worse!

Has anyone else noticed scars changing since being pg? I read on my pregnancy app that they can get darker which is a relief because I've got one on my face from where I had a mole removed 3 years ago which I've noticed over the last few weeks has become more prominent. It used to be white and barely noticeable but now it's looking a light brown colour. At first I thought it might be the mole growing back (at the time the surgeon told me there was a small chance of that happening) which depressed me but since I read about pigment changes in pregnancy I'm hoping it's just that!

TiggeryBear · 10/10/2015 19:01

Hi ladies
May I join? I'm 16+5, with DC1, nervous but excited, especially as I've been enjoying plenty of cuddles with my 3 week old nephew Smile I've currently spent all day in bed, I've been suffering quite badly with sciatica & a sore lower back. It's been so bad this past week I've been tucked up in bed by 7:30pm most nights. Hope this isn't indicative of what's to come over the next 25 weeks or so Sad hope everyone else is fairing well.

magpiedreams · 10/10/2015 19:20

Welcome triggery. Sorry to hear about your back - you will be able to access specialist obstetric physio most likely, better seen sooner rather than later if you're nit already? Can often self-refer, ask MW or GP for details.

me I normally look a bit more tanned (well, less pale) when pg so prob is just pigment change in your scar - hopefully anyway.

Sorry to hear about the golds. It's smit central here with DCs so I expect I'll be next...

On a possibly TMI note, can I ask if anyone else has piles yet??? Sorry. Very annoyingly I seem to have already. Am so upset about it. Had it a bit at the end of both previous pregnancies but so early does not bode well Blush. I've not even been particularly constipated. Ah well. Sorry. Hope no one was reading this eating their tea.

MyNameIsSuz · 10/10/2015 20:17

Me, magpie! Mine first appeared after I gave birth to ds, and are now hormonal I think - I've had them during a bad period, and the early days of both subsequent pregnancies. They were bad at the start but have mostly gone away now. It did panic me a few times when I had bright red blood on wiping and couldn't tell where it had come from!

MyNameIsSuz · 10/10/2015 20:18

And welcome tiggery, sorry about that Grin
