First trimester worries and joys. Test taking, morning sickness, midwife appointments and scans. It's all happening.

Can't believe we filled up a thread already. (I'll get this deleted if someone's already created a second thread, but I didn't see one!

Yeah still in and attached to everything, going to have some toast and tea later :) hope Thursday goes well, I'm glad the bleeding and cramping not happening. Totally understand what you mean by knowing your choices etc

Greyhorses · 02/10/2015 20:14

icant I missed that you were in hospital. Hope your feeling better soon, I was also there last week for iv fluids but they sent me home on avomine and they have made it managable. Hopefully they give you something to take home!Smile

Greyhorses · 02/10/2015 20:14

Thanks fluffy I will update you all tomorrow!

Bishboshbash · 02/10/2015 20:23

Glad you are feeling more positive Fluffy and sorry to hear you've been so poorly icant, hope you can get out of hospital soon!
Good luck to everyone who has scans soon!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 02/10/2015 20:40

Thanks grey hopefully I get some of that!
Thanks bishbosh

Brenna24 · 02/10/2015 20:40

Glad you are back Southy and that things are going well.

Uff, that sounds horrible Icant

I have bought a rocking chair. It was £8 in the local charity shop window when I walked the dog past. I am going to enjoy rocking my baby in it. OH laughed when he got home from work and I told him there was something in the car I wanted carried up the stairs (normally I'd do it myself but he is worried if I carry anything too big). I thought he would grump about extra clutter.

Brenna24 · 02/10/2015 20:41

Ohh and have a hug Fluffy

GrouchyKiwi · 02/10/2015 20:41

Sounds like an awful time for you, Icant. Hope you're able to get home soon, and stay well after that.

Glad you're happier, Fluffy. Flowers

Bish: I notice you said you don't know many Mums. Fancy meeting up sometime? I'm in Musselburgh and don't drive, but have good bus connections.

It is brenna but on the up now :) the chair sounds a good bargain!
Thanks grouchy

GrouchyKiwi · 02/10/2015 21:04

Rocking chairs are so great with babies, Brenna. Good find.

MollieRos · 02/10/2015 21:34

Oh, a rocking chair sounds lovely Brenna. We bought a lovely secondhand armchair the other week, it's supposed to be for the living room but it may have to be spirited away upstairs at some point- it's just so cosy Smile

Fluffy that sounds like a really good idea. When you know all your options then you'll know you're making an informed choice, whatever you decide. Perhaps it will make you feel more in control. I've been really anxious about miscarrying, and I found a website which gives the percentage chance of miscarriage every day of your pregnancy. I can see that many some people may find this upsetting, but actually I've found it really reassuring, and it makes me somehow feel more in control just knowing the information.

I've noticed what may be another very bizarre side-effect of pregnancy... I used to have horses, and rode for many years (though not in the past 4 years or so). I was out walking yesterday evening in the gorgeous sunshine, and the path went through a field with some horses in. I was really scared! I was totally bemused (once I had safely escaped and was standing behind a fence), how have I become scared of horses?! I'm choosing to blame some kind of over-protective pregnancy anxiety thing, rather than that I've just become a big coward as I get older Smile Has anyone else had anything else like this?

Bishboshbash · 02/10/2015 21:39

That would be great Grouchy, I'll pm you!

29redshoes · 03/10/2015 07:21

mama fruit pastilles are my latest remedy too! They're pretty good for nausea, have been helping me get through work.

royal haha yes me too, I haven't painted my nails since I got pregnant - partly no energy, partly I'm not sure I can face the smell.

In-laws visiting this weekend, fortunately they're lovely and already know about the pregnancy so will be understanding if I need to hide away for a couple of hours for a lie down. Really wish I could just hibernate until the first trimester is over Smile

ODog · 03/10/2015 08:06

Good luck to those with scans today and hope you feel better soon icant.

DH is 'ill' today. One of his mystery symptomless illnesses and is being totally pathetic. I have zero sympathy and wish he would just go back to bed where I don't have to look at him feeling sorry for himself about basically nothing.

Southy84 · 03/10/2015 08:40

Sorry to hear you're unwell again icant hope you feel better soon and get to go home soon too x

Hope your scan goes well today grey out of interest who is your Private scan with?

Thank you brenna love that you got yourself a bargain with the rocking chair, love finding things like that :)

That's interesting about the fruit pastels helping mama I can't bear sweets at the moment. I'm more about the savoury and spicy food! Nausea has hit me now too, pretty much all day and all night, eating helps tho so think the pounds will be piling on...

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 03/10/2015 08:51

Thank you Southy x

ljjeffro · 03/10/2015 09:46

odog that made me laugh, you sound like me, my dh says im the most unsympathetic person his ever met!
dorethea and pink my booking in is on the 13th at Queen Marys and my scan is at Kings on the 9th Nov. Good to know thats the norm then. I was a bit confused cos last time I just went to Queen Marys for 12wk scan and i bought the signed consent forms with me for all the tests. This time there were no consent forms in the letter and it was worded as if I had already agreed to the tests.
fluffy I'm glad your feeling better about everything.
icant it sounds like your really going through it.
Im currently praying for some kind of sickness but I know if and when I get it ill definitely be regretting it! The only time i feel any kind of sickness is when i think about the scan I'm having next Saturday.

Mamama31 · 03/10/2015 10:24

Icant hope your feeling a lot better.

Brenna I'm so jeal! Your making me want to scan the charity shops for a rocking chair....i want!!!

Odog lol my DH thinks he is getting pregnancy symptoms....and has even googled it to prove that it can happen!!! why oh why does the Internet feed in to these things?!!!

29 I've moved on to jelly beans today...its so strange as I'm totally off chocolate but loving sugary sweeties!!! Will have no teeth by the end of this pregnancy!

One week exactly until my next scan then I promise if it's good I will relax and try to enjoy my pregnancy. I will be 9+1 so if all is well I need to take reassurance from that and just chill.

Brenna24 · 03/10/2015 11:02

Best of luck next week at your scans Mama and jeffro

I should be getting ready to go to a wedding. I am lazing in bed instead. 5 more minutes.

AlaskaWaves · 03/10/2015 16:36

I'm in such a grumpy mood today and doing my best not to take it out on DH, although not being very successful! Everything is irritating me, for little or no reason! I've come upstairs to sulk on mn and keep out of the way whilst DH is playing on Fifa and clicking his fingers, plus giving me a running commentary of how the various football matches are going. I couldn't care less.
How long will this mood swing last... 5 minutes... 5 hours...? I hope it shifts soon sulk Angry

Greyhorses · 03/10/2015 17:03

I had my scan today and everything looks on track and good for 8 weeks. Felt very surreal at the time and now I can't wait until the next one. Smile I paid privately with baby bond and they were very good!

AlaskaWaves · 03/10/2015 17:08

Good news Smile

Southy84 · 03/10/2015 17:38

mama that's when my private scan is too, I'm hoping I will calm down too, lets hope anyway!

alaska I'm in a grumpy mood today too! I actually panicked that my period was going to come because I had some pulling pains too.

Amazing news on the scan grey that's fab news! Did you get pictures? If so we're they clear?

Greyhorses · 03/10/2015 17:51

Southy we got about 5 photos included. The scan was clear, we could see it wiggling and heartbeat which was nice- it looked more like a jellybean than an actual baby but apparently it's supposed to look like this Grin You can make out head/body/cord etc quite well but you can't see features or anything in detail if you know what I mean. They also checked ovaries/uterus etc and took measurements so overall i was quite pleased! It is surreal to see its heartbeat etc- just hope I can relax a little now until 12w.

Southy84 · 03/10/2015 18:38

Aww that's great grey really nice to know. Nice to have the scan pictures too :)
