Joining from the relaxed TTC-ers. Hoping to see everyone here soon Grin

My stats:
Age 36
DS 29 months old, still bf once a day at bedtime.
Currently 7 weeks pregnant.
History: had a mc at 9 weeks prior to DS - also had bleeding while pg with him but all was well.

Been feeling constantly ill for a week now! Last time I ate to feel better but it doesn't make any difference this time. Only actually been sick twice though. Had to fess up to the parents/PILs already as so off colour. Started taking spatone sachets today to try and increase my energy levels. Looking forward to speaking with a midwife to see what else I can do, if anything.

Yay, so good to hear you are starting to improve Reebok, brilliant news. And being able to feel them in there makes it all suddenly feel worth it!
Funny as even though I'm two weeks ahead of you, my scan isn't til 11th December, because they do them at 22 weeks here, not 20. Only 3 weeks to go but feels like AGES! Can't wait to see the little face in 3D again, it was the moment I really started bonding last time.

Who will have their next scan first, is it Dubai? And are we all finding out sex, or are some of us having surprises?
I really want to know ASAP if it's a boy so I can get my head round it, and start on the name odyssey once again...

Reebok · 20/11/2015 19:26

Thanks France. I'm definitely finding out. Helps me to connect a little bit more especially when I feel so shitty!

I think it will be Dubai. I'm sure she's the one who's further ahead. I will be almost 21 weeks at my scan.

So shattered and feeling sick at moment. Just laying in bed next to dd. How sad am I!!

Bluepigoon · 22/11/2015 14:24

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on in ages. I've got my 20 week scan on 16th December too Reebok, I'm looking forward to it but I'm sure I'll start feeling a bit nervous just beforehand. I'm not going to find out the sex, I like the idea of a surprise (and I'm slightly concerned about being bombarded with pink or blue things from relatives if I find out).

We've moved into our new house and have been busy tearing the place to bits (there was some spectacularly bad wallpaper). We've got a deadline of Christmas to get it decorated as our families are coming to us for Christmas Day. I can't wait to have it all sorted so I can just put my feet up and enjoy our new home!

I hope you're all starting to feel better. I've been mostly okay except a whole week long bout of gastroenteritis which wasn't much fun and completely wiped out all my energy for a few days afterwards. I've told work now though, as I didn't want them to think I was skiving after taking a week off for something that usually takes a couple of days to get over!

applecatchers36 · 22/11/2015 19:29

Glad you are feeling better Reebok long may this continue. Not exactly feeling kicks more butterfly sensation really.

Have my next scan this Thursday & like Blue not going to find out . Want a surprise this time, we knew it was a girl last time & it does help with the names etc..Congrats on your new home btw , sounds like you are going to be busy with decorating & entertaining the family at Christmas.

We are going away. Also looking forward to some time off at Christmas can't come soon enough.

darkpandora · 22/11/2015 22:52

Hey everyone glad to hear that everyone is improving especially you Reebok! Smile.

I think you must be due your scan soon right Dubai?areyou finding out the sex?

It is so exciting knowing that all of us will be seeing our baby's again soon and knowing that some of us will know very soon if we are having little boys or little girls!! I wonder how many of each there will be!!

I had my 16 week midwife appointment last week it was a bit disappointing as they wouldn't listen for baby's heartbeat. I got referred to a dietician and they chatted to me about my blood results did my blood pressure, sent off my urine to be tested to check for infection and then that was that. I was expecting more but oh well.

My scan is 14th December and I'm counting down the days!! I haven't felt any movements yet but I'm sure they will happen soon I know it can take longer for your first baby.

Do you all have names in mind already? We have a deffinate boys name but we haven't fully decided on a girls name yet.

I might not be on much this week or the week after as I am in a show first week of December so rehearsing like crazy this week and then busy performing the week after so will probs be knackered!!

InFrance2014 · 24/11/2015 18:51

ooh Apple you'll be the first then! Good luck for the scan.

Blue crikey that's a lot on your plate, third trimester in new house AND hosting for christmas, very brave! But also lovely too Smile sorry you had gastro, no fun at the best of times.

Pandora I don't get why they wouldn't listen, it must take like 1 minute if they have the doppler right there, and it makes such a difference to your peace of mind as a patient.

We have a few names left over from last time Blush, but I really just want to know what it is, and then I can get excited.
Have been a little TOO excited with my wrap buying- now have 3 Shock (although all great deals 2nd hand)
Bought one gorgeous short one, wool and cotton blend (Oscha Liberty Maya), plus a longer stunning cotton one that I sort of fell in love with (Oscha Monks belt Jol). But then thought maybe I need a really cushy one for a newborn, so just bought a third (Didymos Indio Smeraldo). I think this is getting into proper pregant retail madness! Grin

Tell me all your purchases so I don't feel so guilty Wink

Reebok · 24/11/2015 20:40

Thanks everyone. I honestly can't wait to come off this medication. The side effects are awful but necessary I guess if I want to keep eating/drinking something. Living on cheese toasties and ready salted crisps at the moment but it's probably the most I've managed this entire pregnancy. I'm showing like crazy now! I have a very clear bump and the kicks are getting stronger.

Blue congrats on the new home! How exciting!

Apple ooh do let us know how you get on at the scan.

France your post made me laugh. I haven't bought anything yet. Got everything left over from dd and I'm waiting to find out the sex so I know if I can use any of her old clothes or if I finally need to get rid of it!

Pandora they wouldn't listen for heartbeat at my 16 week app either. Thought the appointment was a waste of time. With dd they listened for heartbeat at 16 weeks but apparently they're stopping as people start to panic when a heartbeat can't be found. Only checking much later now. Annoying thing is as its my second I won't be seen until 28 weeks now! Such a long wait!

lostindubai · 24/11/2015 21:11

Hi all Smile

Well I had my 20 week scan yesterday and all went smoothly (thankfully as last time it wasn't straightforward). Got a couple of lovely clear pics, one of which is a front face view which is quite amazing! Both me and dp came away thinking we've got another boy on the way, as it reminded us of ds' scan pics. Not scientific at all of course! We were wrong with our guesses last time so who knows? Ds reckons it's a girl, not sure what he's basing that on but one of us will be right! I'm happy to wait till baby's born for that wonderful moment of revelation.

Kicks have been getting stronger and more regular. Dp even felt one last night. Loving it!

Yes I'll hopefully be getting a sling as it's the only way I'll get anything done when baby arrives. Will check out my local sling library when the time comes. All I had for ds was a baby bjorn so I'll need something else for a younger baby.

I can't understand why they wouldn't listen for the heartbeat at your mw appointments Reebok and Pandora. That's quite sad actually. I'm sure most heartbeats are clearly audible by then and those that aren't should be reassured another way if they require it. Surely this new 'policy' will increase anxiety rather than the opposite!

Glad to hear you're feeling better Reebok, and that you're all moved now Blue. Lovely to hear everyone's updates. Roll on all your scans!

InFrance2014 · 25/11/2015 08:35

No emoticon for the big round of applause I'm sending you Reebok!!! Excellent you can eat something decent. For all my aches, pains and nausea, they're nowt compared to the mountain you've climbed. Here's some Cake in anticipation of you being able to enjoy it again before long!

Dubai yay, wonderful!! I mixed it up and thought it was Apple first, but it was you! So lovely that all was well, and you saw your little one's face, so magical. Is it right that they don't routinely offer to sex at UK scans? Did you ask them not to?

I had a dream last night that the new baby was here, but it was MASSIVE! Like the size of an 8 month old. But somehow I still didn't know if it was a boy or girl!

Wish I was in UK so I could more easily join a sling library and find other people into wrapping to geek out with about blends and carries... very sad really Smile

DeccaMitford · 25/11/2015 13:48

Hi all,

Ive been feeling a bit sorry for myself, I'm a few weeks behind most of you so have still had the sickness and fatigue. And yesterday I found out I do seem to have gestational diabetes, which was at first annoying, then a bit scary, especially as I'm not an obvious candidate for it and they've picked it up so much earlier than usual.

But hey, I'm coping with the clexane injections so I'm sure I'll cope with this too. And in spite of being sick earlier, I do think I'm starting to feel a bit better generally. Fingers crossed.

I've got a midwife appointment later to discuss the GD, which will hopefully help me understand what I really need to know about risks and controlling it via diet etc. Wish me luck!

applecatchers36 · 30/11/2015 22:08

Sorry to hear of the gestational diabetes Decca hope the midwife appt was reassuring.

Glad you are managing to eat something Reebok & that bump has emerged. It's exciting isn't it when you are properly showing and not looking like you have gained a few extra pounds.

Had my scan last Thursday all went well , baby is the right size and developing well. Don't know the sex, you can find out but like lost waiting for that wonderful surprise at the end.

Haven't bought anything for baby yet. But imagine might put my mind to it in January sales. At the moment trying get a handle in Christmas shopping!

InFrance2014 · 03/12/2015 09:41

Hello,

Aw Decca sending hugs, that's a double whammy to have GD as well as the clexane jabs to deal with. A friend who had GD recently had a wonderful and healthy baby, and there was remarkably little extra fuss around the birth, so wishing you the same experience.

Apple fab news about your scan!

I am so so keen to have ours, its on 11th. I really want to 'meet' this little person who is kicking and poking me all the time! Counting down the days...

Hope everyone else is ok, it's got pretty quiet on this thread!

Reebok · 04/12/2015 19:46

Hi all...Unfortunately I seem to be getting sick again. Don't think working is helping me and the fact I've had a viral infection this week. Already been sick 4 times and couldn't even keep down my dinner which was rich tea biscuits! Been in tears most of the week. I'm 19 weeks and feel like I will never recover. Sorry for the 'me' rant. Will check in tomorrow and catch up on the thread properly. X

lostindubai · 06/12/2015 08:26

Hey Reebok how are you feeling now? So sorry you feel you're going downhill again. The worst kind of roller coaster Sad I hate viral infections as there's nothing you can do to make it better apart from wait. I hope you're getting plenty of rest?

InFrance I think it's routine now to be able to find out what baby's sex is at the 20 week scan (think it changed less than ten years ago). Our sonographer asked us as soon as we came in and then told us to look away while she examined baby's legs!! I guess it must be pretty clear to see sometimes Grin

Not long now till your scan! Will you be finding out? Have you got plans to come back to the UK any time soon? Will there not be a sling library where you are?

Hey Decca sorry about the gd. Do you know what brought it on? What are the implications (please excuse my ignorance on the subject) Flowers Hang in there, you'll soon catch us up! Hope the sickness is subsiding.

Apple glad your scan went well! I too am concentrating on Christmas shopping, although I have a loft full of baby stuff from ds so pretty well organised, especially if it's another boy! I expect I'll pick up a few new bits nearer the time. I do love neutral colours, just wish there was more choice in the shops.

We're still waiting to hear about a moving date! Feels like it's taking forever. We're off for a little holiday next week so I'm now hoping we'll move after Christmas not before. It'll be rather more stressful fitting it in before, I feel.

Baby's really active these days, dp can feel it kicking from the outside now so hopefully I'll get ds to have a feel soon! Latest wonderful pregnancy symptom is excess snot, bringing on nosebleeds (nothing serious but still pretty disgusting!!) Poor ds has a cold atm so we're a pretty snotty household - at least he doesn't get the nosebleeds though!

Hope everyone's doing ok. Thinking of you all x

OP posts:
InFrance2014 · 06/12/2015 09:20

bloody hell Reebok that sucks Sad . Hope maybe it might be being exacerbated by the virus. I know despite not having nausea anymore, I still have an exaggerated gag reflex, so maybe you might be more prone to vomiting during illnesses, rather than it just being continuing sickness. Trying to be positive for you anyway... Flowers Hope you can get a decent break from work over christmas.

Dubai get I get the impression from mumsnet threads that some UK hospitals won't tell you sex? And that you have to pay for print-outs of the scans? While I miss the NHS in many ways, having to go private here does mean I get 3D scans and printouts as standard which is welcome.
We're definitely finding out if its a girl or boy mainly because you only get 3 days after the birth to register the name in France (the town hall official comes to the hospital as most people stay in for 3-4 days), so we will need to get on with choosing them!

Don't think any sling libraries here, France isn't so into it in general, very 'traditional' in many ways compared to UK, either with formula feeding, taking babies away in hospital, huge epidural & caesarian rate, almost 0 home birth options. It's funny, before moving here I was very anti-hospital birth etc and might have tried homebirth in UK, but I had no choice last time. And now I think even if I had the option, I might be wary of homebirth, my safety margin has been significantly raised since having this one! [despite it being very straightforward labour last time]

We are coming back to UK next summer, looking forward to it lots, and cannot wait to indulge all the 'english' things over christmas including decent takeways, France is dreadful for that!

darkpandora · 06/12/2015 21:48

Hey everyone sorry haven't posted in a while have been busy in a pantomine all this week and the week before was rehearsals it's all finished now tho but I'm exhausted!

Hope everyone is keeping well had a quick look back but will take some time to catch up properly in a bit Smile

so glad to hear all the scans have been going well my 20 week scan is in 8 days anybody's before mine? I'm deffo finding out the sex can't wait.

Decca and reebok sorry to hear you ladies aren't doing too well Sad really hope you both feel better ASAP x Flowers

I can really feel baby move now it's just such a weird feeling but soo wonderful Grin can't wait till the kicks are powerful enough for my OH to feel

Well I'm gonna get off now read back properly and post once I'm all caught up take care of yourselves and your beautiful bumps x

Reebok · 09/12/2015 20:23

Hi ladies, hope you're doing ok. Had a bit of a scare. Been having spotting for a few days and today had a red bleed. On top of it very bad painful cramps. Was convinced it was all over but luckily baby is fine. Had an emergency scan today. They can't find a definite reason for the bleeding and pain so I've been put on bed rest for a week to help it subside. Rest will hopefully help with the sickness as its been pretty bad lately. Anyway as I've had my scan a week early, I was able to find out the sex...I'm on team pink! DD will have a baby sister! Whoo! So happy! It's just what she's asked for! Anyway will catch up on the thread properly soon. Need some sleep after the day I've had! Xx

InFrance2014 · 10/12/2015 10:58

Sending hugs and congrats at the same time Reebok! How awfully scary, but brilliant that it is ok. Could it have been caused by a lot of vomiting somehow? I really hope your next few months are super-restful!

And so lovely another girl!! I am ridiculously excited (but also nervous) about my scan tomorrow.

InFrance2014 · 11/12/2015 21:36

Team Pink here too! So chuffed, a wee tear or two came out when the sonographer told me.

Rocksiebaby · 13/12/2015 20:43

Sorry to hear you had such a scare Reebok hoping all is well now.
Seem quite a few team pinks so far Flowers congrats to you all! We're still unsure about finding out the sex. I like to be prepared but sometimes a surprise is nice too. The nursery colours & theme would be suitable to any sex.
No exciting news from me. Spent the last 3 weeks in hospital. Had almost daily scans which only increased our anxiety but I'm home now on bedrest. Baby is quite the kicker! Has anyone actually witnessed their belly move? It's so strange! Didn't think I'd experience it so soon but the midwife thinks it's because of my small frame.

darkpandora · 14/12/2015 18:43

Hey everyone hope you are all keeping well.

Sorry people have been in hospital etc I hope you feel better ASAP Flowers

I had my 20 week scan today and it all went brilliantly sonographer was very happy with baby's growth etc so got no worries Smile

As I had my scan I found out the sex and I'm a very shocked and suprised but also very happy team pink!! Was so sure she was a boy lol Grin

applecatchers36 · 16/12/2015 14:01

Hi All & congrats on all those who have had scans and it seems to be lots of baby girls arriving in 2016! Wondering if bump will add to this gang of girls or not now!

Sorry to hear rocksie and reebok have been in hospital but pleased to hear that it was just a scare. How frightening though.

Getting ready for Christmas here, doing a lot of shopping online can't face whole day shopping escapades at 6 months pregnant which have had to explain to my sister as we used to enjoy doing this together.

What is everyone wearing on Christmas Day? Am thinking of jeans and shirt/ blouse that caters for bump, how dressy do you get when pregnant on Christmas Day....

lostindubai · 18/12/2015 07:17

Hi all sorry for my silence. Been away on hols and had some dramas to deal with (OH work and family related) but feeling a bit more settled now. Still no movement on the house though which is starting to worry me. Could do without that!

Rocksie how come you've been in hospital love? Sorry to hear that.

Reebok I'm so sorry to hear about your scare. That must have been awful for you. So glad everything's ok now. Are you planning to return to work? How's the hg now?

Congrats to everyone whose found out they're having girls! Are there only girls or don't knows no this thread? Can't remember if any boys!

Wondering how Blue is as her scan was a couple of days ago. Hope it all went well.

InFrance maybe some UK hospitals still won't give away the sex at the 20 week scan. Entirely possible - no two trusts seem to work the same way! We are supposed to pay £5 for each scan pic but they don't exactly police it and we've had 5 pics for just a fiver Blush

Apple re Christmas day wear - haven't thought about it really but probably what you said!

Starting to get horrid nighttime cramps in my legs. I remember this from last time. Oh joy!

OP posts:
DeccaMitford · 19/12/2015 17:07

Hi everyone,

Well, I'm feeling sooooo much better at last. Still being sick occasionally but the all day nausea has subsided thank god. Still doing the clexane injections, but I'm fairly used to them now, and since monitoring my blood sugar most of the readings have been fine.

Hope you are all ok, it's getting to the exciting end of the pregnancy now isn't it?!

Bluepigoon · 19/12/2015 19:18

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on for ages, I've spent the last few weeks pretty much just decorating, working or sleeping! Really sorry to hear about the hospital trips, but hopefully you're both on the mend now.

I had my scan this week and everything looks fine :) I'm feeling the baby fidget most days now, so hopefully it'll only be a matter of time before my DH can feel it too. We stuck to our plan and didn't find out the sex, but I'm going to guess boy, just to help even out the gender balance on this thread :)

Hope you're all well and excited about Christmas. I've finished work for the year now (phew!) and we've just got a couple more days of decorating to go before the house should be ready for our families to descend on us on Christmas Day. I'm going to be so lazy between Christmas and new year - No decorating, working, entertaining or thinking about anything more difficult than crap films and where I've left the jelly babies. Can't wait!
