Joining from the relaxed TTC-ers. Hoping to see everyone here soon Grin

My stats:
Age 36
DS 29 months old, still bf once a day at bedtime.
Currently 7 weeks pregnant.
History: had a mc at 9 weeks prior to DS - also had bleeding while pg with him but all was well.

Been feeling constantly ill for a week now! Last time I ate to feel better but it doesn't make any difference this time. Only actually been sick twice though. Had to fess up to the parents/PILs already as so off colour. Started taking spatone sachets today to try and increase my energy levels. Looking forward to speaking with a midwife to see what else I can do, if anything.

Hi everyone Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Been struggling with the sickness. I hit 15 weeks on Friday so hoping it will start to ease a little. Am attempting to go back to work tomorrow....hoping it doesn't result in a horrid relapse. I teach so don't expect it to be easy.

Welcome to the newbies and congrats on your bfps! Also congrats on the Scan news.

Hope sickness is subsiding for everyone and we all start feeling movement soon. Sorry for the short message. Will catch up properly soon x

beckslovestimmy · 08/11/2015 11:50

Reebok are you on any meds? Hoping you can get back to work and don't feel too awful. I'm back to work on nights tonight. My meds are helping so hope I should be ok. Just need to make sure I eat regularly too.

lostindubai · 09/11/2015 06:33

Best of luck for your return to work Reebok. Please let us know how it goes. Will be thinking of you today!

How did your return to work go Becks? Hope you're ok.

Rocksie I'm so pleased your DH came to the scan and came clean about what was worrying him. I bet you feel a whole lot better about all that now. And being emotional is completely normal, lots of hormones flying around our bodies right now! I've been blubbing at all sorts lately, last night I had major tears at Downton Abbey!

As for cravings they're not so bad now as they have been but I still need to make sure I have access to cold fizzy (in particular appletiser or lemonade) and I still have a massive sweet tooth. Sex I'm not having very much of really but that's down to tiredness more than anything really. Hopefully that will change but with a house move on the cards I'm not overly confident Grin

Hi to everyone else!

Hi lost, I managed my first night back at work. I definitely felt more rough than I have been at home and I was really tired despite a nap before work and a break at work. I've only got one more shift to go then I've got 2 weeks off so I'm looking forward to that.

Reebok I hope work was ok for you today.

lostindubai · 10/11/2015 22:35

Enjoy your time off Becks are you doing anything nice?

Reebok hope you're ok love?

So today I rang my midwife as I was concerned I still hadn't felt any movements from baby. I'll be 19 weeks on Thursday and it's my second so I really expected to have felt something by now. She said it depended on where baby is laying and where the placenta is but she invited me in to her afternoon clinic to listen to the heartbeat. What a star! All was fine (phew!) and baby was kicking away again. Haven't been majorly worried but it was playing on my mind and I think contributing to my recent insomnia. So I feel I can relax now until the scan (which is almost two weeks away).

Hi all,
I am finally through the nausea now, 18 weeks tomorrow (OMG). Also epic tiredness has dissipated thank goodness.
Had monthly check today, all good, gynae said my bump is big but not abnormal, and then showed me that a lot of it in upper area is gas! Shock she said the hormones affect digestion, and sort of tapped on upper bump, which sounded hollow, and then where the bay was, and you could hear the difference. Pretty hilarious really!

Rocksie good news about scan, and the source of your OH's worry, although of course the reason behind it might be stressful.
Sorry that many of you are struggling through the sick phase - I am hoping to see Reebok finally post before long that she has started to feel better Flowers

Pandora I'm keeping away from the Pregnacare in any form following the awful constipation earlier on... can't face that again. Unfortunately I bought all my tablets in advance, still have about £80 worth!!

No cravings here and not much sex (although actually did manage it last night!), but have been doing rather a lot of 'DIY' Blush , its easy as I'm in another bedroom to ensure decent sleep! Feel a bit guilty though, haven't told DH...

InFrance2014 · 12/11/2015 18:50

Meant to say Dubai glad things turned out ok, you will surely feel kicking soon!

Reebok · 13/11/2015 19:37

Hi all sorry I've been silent. This week has been difficult. Only working until lunch everyday but it's been a struggle..I've thrown up on the train ride home and then continuously in evenings. Unfortunately I have to return as can't afford a pay cut with dds nursery fees.

Becks I'm on ondansetron which is basically a drug used for chemo patients...very strong. It's controlled the vomiting but not stopped it. Midwife is convinced I will be better by 20 weeks. I've given up on milestones as I just keep getting dosappointed. Sorry not to have better news. Feeling really shitty!

beckslovestimmy · 13/11/2015 19:52

Reebok I had cyclizine last time and I've got prochlorperazine this time. I really rate the prochlorperazine I haven't vomitted since taking it (it's also a chemo drug I think). I still feel rough most of the day but I'm able to eat and drink. Might be worth switching and giving it a try if you haven't already?? Sorry your still feeling rough. I think it was about 20 weeks that it got better with my first pregnancy. Only another 12 to go if that's the case this time!! God it's awful isn't it?! Thanks

Reebok · 14/11/2015 11:23

It got better at 16 weeks last time so now hoping for it to go by 20 weeks as I'm already 16. No I think will stick on ondansetron as it takes a while for drugs to build up in my system and I still have to work Monday. I'm doing much better than I was. I think working isn't helping...I teach you see and having a toddler on top of the hg doesn't help.

beckslovestimmy · 14/11/2015 21:22

I second the whole work not helping thing!! My night shift was awful and doing a 13hr shift is so hard. Luckily today was not to busy and had all my breaks and could eat enough to get me through the day. Already in bed now though. I don't envy you reebok teaching must be extra hard at least I can run to the loo when ever I need or just take a breather. Fingers crossed you get better soon Thanks

Rocksiebaby · 15/11/2015 15:13

Hi all got back from our week away on Thursday and ended up spending a good part of Saturday in hospital. I was feeling a bit off and the doctor suggested a trip to A&E. Blood pressure was a bit up so I'll have to go in for some tests and things this week but nothing serious, just a precaution. On a positive note OH has started clearing out the "junk room" to start preparing it for baby which he lovingly refers to as jelly bean or occasionally just bean Grin and the family seems very excited. SIL is taking me out shopping this week for clothes as I'm getting a little bit too big for mine Blush

Sorry to hear you are still suffering Reebok have you tried peppermint tea at all? In the past I've found it helpful for stomach upsets.

Hi to everyone and hope you are all doing well and taking it easy. Thank you for the congratulations Flowers

InFrance2014 · 15/11/2015 18:33

Reebok really sorry to hear its still so bloody awful for you. I won't offer you any cake/tea, so here is a wishing Star instead, hoping that you will really come out the other side too. Would hope there was more your school could do for you, it's just as debilitating as serious illness, is there no occupational health person who can advise? Can your DH deal with your toddler in the evenings, as you must be totally whacked by then?

Rocksie glad hospital turned out not to be anything serious. Some days I feel very off too, breathless and dizzy, must be ups and downs with blood pressure, combined with lungs being squashed from all the innards being pushed up.

I've entered the 'obsessed with baby stuff' phase again now... Bought a wrap last time, but never managed to get DD into it (from newborn she didn't want to be wrapped up tight on you, preferred looking round on my shoulder). But this time I'm determined to give baby-wearing a proper go, it must make it easier with 2! So... have bought two beautiful second-hand woven wraps and some rings, should be arriving this week. But am now getting rather too into the whole thing, there's an entire world of facebook groups for different brands! Not any buying new baby clothes though, so I guess I need something to obsess about Grin.
Anyone else here already/thinking of using wraps/slings?

beckslovestimmy · 15/11/2015 19:30

In France, I used a moby stretchy sling first time round and Dh enjoyed using it too, then moved on to some light weight buckles (boba 3G). This time around I may look at some more substantial buckles like an ergo. Especially as I don't need to spend out on a buggy/travel system.

applecatchers36 · 15/11/2015 22:18

InFrance I also used a caboo stretchy sling, is great when they are small, you get the use of your hands & arms back! Fully intend to use it this time round as think with a toddler will be even more useful.

InFrance2014 · 16/11/2015 06:39

Hi Apple and Becks, I was thinking of using a stretchy like a Moby this time, but then I watched some tutorials and it seems that multiple layers are involved, which might not be a good ideas as it could easily be 30C here at due date (and I want to wrap ASAP for lots of skin to skin, which although I got for a delicious hour or two after the birth, then didn't do again last time until 2 days after Blush, on advice of la leche league advisor ).
The one I have from last time is a hybrid, it's partially stretchy, but long, and I really struggled with it. I think it's too 'grippy' because of the jersey material, and the same problem would happen with the fully stretchy wraps.
So I reserched woven ones, and have gone for some short ones that are light, and which I can do simple single layer carries for newborns. They're also GORGEOUS Grin. Might have to be truly sad and post a photo here when they arrive Wink

Maybe that's something to cheer up the ones among us suffering from terrible symptoms. Any nice baby-related purchases to share (photos, or links even), to help us look forward to their arrival?

InFrance2014 · 16/11/2015 06:41

ps hope this doesn't break MN rules, but if anyone wants to buy my previous wrap, it's a Wrapsody Stretch Hybrid, with batik owl design. PM me and I can send photos.

beckslovestimmy · 16/11/2015 09:22

In France, I think it's calinbleu that do a gauze fine woven wrap supposedly ideal for hot climates. Might be worth a look. I think you would definitely be very warm in a stretchy. DD was a January baby and I was still really warm!

darkpandora · 16/11/2015 23:25

Hey everyone Smile sorry haven't posted in a little while been really busy.

How's everyone getting on?

I am also at the obsessed with baby things phase I have brought 3 things so far a little pair of booties, some neutral onesies and a hat. I have got a couple of presents as well.

I look at things for hours and hours a day but going to resist buying too much until I know if bubba is boy or girl. I'm hoping for a boy as I hate the colour pink and all newborn girl things seem to be pink Confused

As this is my first ever baby I'm confused about a lot of things slings being one of them! Are they suitable for straight after birth or do you need to wait till baby can hold their head up?

Rocksie I'm also in the process of clearing out our junk room to turn into a nursery it truly is a junk room it's a nightmare to sort out everything has to go so I've roped in my mum and dad to help as well its a proper family event lol.

InFrance2014 · 17/11/2015 09:31

Pandora retail baby prep is fun! I actually dress my DD in probably 60% boys clothes as France loves its pink frilly stuff too, not my taste.

You can certainly wrap babies from birth. Depending on the type you buy, it's just a matter of a safe position for them that is high up (almost under your chin), supports the neck, and ensures their airways are always clear. Things to avoid are over-heating, covering face (I see this SO much with people out in all types of carriers) and the one piece 'pouch' slings that look like big handbags, they are unsafe.

Some advice here from someone trained in it: www.wrapyouinlove.com/wearing-a-newborn/

DeccaMitford · 17/11/2015 13:20

Hello all, sorry I've not posted for a while, just checking in to say I had my scan and all appeared well! Still feeling queasy and exhausted but had a better couple of days so hopefully on the up Smile

InFrance2014 · 17/11/2015 18:42

Awful cold misery here, caught from DD (can't refuse her snotty kisses).
Not being able to take anything for it sure makes one appreciate the everyday medicine we take for granted usually!!

applecatchers36 · 17/11/2015 22:56

Hi infrance also suffering with a cold passed on by my toddler but am taking paracetamol, honey & lemon , glycerine cough syrup I think those are ok?

It's tough when you start to get over morning sickness and get lumbered by a cold!

Reebok · 20/11/2015 07:58

Hi all, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Being back at work has really taken it out of me. Count down until Xmas hols has already begun! Only 4 more weeks to get through until I can rest again. Counting down for my scan too which is 16th December! Already 17 weeks and while I'm not as sick as I was...I'm still not better yet. Still on my medication, being sick at work and completely drained by evenings. Hoping it will subside by 20 weeks.

Sorry so many of you have colds! It's awful isn't it when you can't take medicine. How's everyone getting on? Feeling more kicks? I'm starting to feel stronger movement in the evenings when I lay down and stop doing anything. It's wonderful.
