Morning everyone!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
1becomes3 · 29/11/2006 10:55

He is 19, nearly 20, I have to admit although he is a PITA he hasn't had much in the way of parental guidance (his mother is useless), so he has been going off the rails for a while, lets hope that DH can kick his arse back into line while he is with us. This is the last chance he is getting from us though.

Bramshott-My buttocks left and right keep seizing up, if iam standing for too long I can't sit down and if I have been sitting for too long I can't stand up.

Bramshott · 29/11/2006 10:57

Glad it's not just me then! I'll pass on the rub thanks CD !!

1b3 - sounds like you are being very understanding/helpful with your nephew - hope he's not exhausting you too much.

Tili · 29/11/2006 10:58

hey everyone

hope all are fine and dandy. im ok got scan tomorrow so slightly edgy today.

For those with leg cramps tonic water is supposed to help there is something in it which tends to ease cramps and also lack of calcium can make cramps worse so cheese butties and pints of milk all round then .

anyway better go and pick up dd from preschool.
catch up later xx

Bugmum · 29/11/2006 10:58

Another one worried about the bean here! Bump ENORMOUS (I now look seven months pregnant ) but I think that might be chocolate. Some weeks ago, I vowed only to have treats a couple of times a week [howling with derisive laughter emoticon], and since then have only stopped eating to sleep. But despite huge bump (I was very neat with DS), I am not feeling much movement, and I can't wait for Tuesday and my scan.

Sexonlegs · 29/11/2006 11:03

1becomes3, pmsl at Pita bread -lovely!!
I think tonic water has quinine in it, and that is good for dicky tummies.
Alternatively a nice rub down by a hunky chap will be just as good!!!! I am obsessed!!!!!!

Greengirlforever · 29/11/2006 11:26

Hello all and sorry to hear you're all a bit anxious about your bumps - I am there. My consultant's secretary came back to me saying I should speak to the midwife or ante-natal unit (about my scan measurement worries) so maybe I will do that. Feeling a bit depressed again at the mo'.

1B3 - Well done with delinquent nephew! [gold medal emoticon] You are quite a woman and should be proud of yourself (seriously!).

Maveta - Hurrah for the holiday!

Bugmum - I am huge too - also want to eat more healthily (and less!). So I planned to get to the halfway point and use the second half of the pgcy to be sensible! I am now 20.6 and have decided that actually 21 weeks is the halfway point for me as I always go way over! . But that's tomorrow and I am still loving all my food as much as ever - nightmare!!!

SoL - sorry you are feeling rough. And 1B3 for your broken night - your DH sounds cool though - washing up at 3am is what I call thinking out of the box!

I'm pissed off at my DH again cos he is staying at home today to decorate DS2's bedroom and I was running mega-late this morning due to my maternity trousers hem needing an emergency repair and he still refused to take DS2 to nursery, saying that was my job! Also I have had to take DS2 out of said nursery because they have private school holidays which I can't afford to cover, and they are going to charge me for another term!

CaptainDippy · 29/11/2006 11:30

LOL @ chocolate Bugmum!!

You ARE being v.patient and understanding with your Nephew 1B3 - Having grown up in foster care, I do have a lot of sympathy for the poor lad. I sincerely hope he makes the most of this generous opportunity you and your DH are giving him and that he shapes his butt up pronto!!

Gotta go - DD2 is summoning me.....

Bugmum · 29/11/2006 11:31

GGF on your behalf. What the hell IS it with some men?????

CaptainDippy · 29/11/2006 11:31

[[hugs]] GGF!

hotlipsmummy · 29/11/2006 11:45

Morning all. Sorry not posted for a while but have been reading!!
Welcome opinionsrus - yes you will need loads of time to keep up with this thread!

I'm in London so would be up for a London meet up obviously!

Had scan this morning and all fine - neither DH or I managed to spot a willy/clit (!!) etc so still no idea what flavour the bean is. DOn't really mind anyway. Plus I have never heard of anyone being disappointed when they eventually pop out (just relief mainly at getting it out by then!!) but you do sometimes hear of people being disappointed with being told what they are getting iyswim.

I think the half way point is more like 22-23 weeks as you don't know your pg until around 5 weeks so the first "half" is 15 weeks and the second "half" 20 weeks iyswim so more choc for a couple more weeks

Hope all the other scans go well.

1becomes3 · 29/11/2006 12:02

DH's evil x desperatly wanted a pink and got terrible pnd when she had 2 blues, took her ages to bond wit them.

hotlipsmummy · 29/11/2006 12:03

That might say more about your DH's evil x then...
Personally I think that a heathly baby is all anyone can ask for and that chldren are a blessing not a right.

geordiemacminx · 29/11/2006 12:04

Well some would say she got what she deserves... ooops did I say that out loud..

Smole · 29/11/2006 12:47

A new thread already!!

Can't keep up with everyone.

Glad all the scans went well.

Did all my Xmas Pressie shopping so I'm happy.

Will pop back later when I'm sure the thread will have at least another 100 threads!!!!!

20+5 (wow!!)

heidle · 29/11/2006 12:56

hey you guys!
sorry to lump everyone together but april is (obviously)such a popular time for a baby, I just can't keep up!
hi to all new people,
congrats to all scans,
hugs to everyone in pain - spd or pita.

a pre-birth meet-up sounds good: as I'm a mere 300 miles from london, and probably not the only one who would need to overnight, could I suggest we find a bargain hotel with a pool? Seeing as how getting roaringly drunk is probably not the done thing, maybe a bit of relaxing instead? whaddya think?

I've just spent my first morning in ds2's nursery! Ah, they are all so cute, apart from the little bastards who can't stop hitting each other of course. Am going to try and go as much as I can now, and help in both ds1 and ds2 classes, coz I guess it'll be my last chance for a while.
relaxing afternoon planned though - nothing to do at all.
I left the ironing for soooooo long, that dh gave in and did his!!!!

claricebean · 29/11/2006 13:13

Hi everyone, haven't posted for ages as I can hardly keep up with the thread, let alone posting too. Good luck to all with scans coming up. We had ours last week. We didn't want to know the sex, but unfortuntely didn't make that explicit for the sonographer, who told us we're having a girl. That's Spain for you, everyone finds out here.

Anyway, am quite excited about getting one final use out of all my cute baby girl clothes, even though I do feel sorry for DS who will have 3 sisters!!

Having said that, just so pleased that all signs are healthy. I feel a bit like I'm pushing my luck to expect a healthy fourth baby, even though I know that rationally statistics don't work like that.

I've been feeling extra knackered the last few days. Perhaps beanie is having a growth spurt. Still, 22 weeks today - hurrah!!

Greengirlforever · 29/11/2006 14:06

Claricebean - are you on the stats thread - how old are your other DCs?

Heidle - I like your thinking re an overnighter at a nice hotel. We should get as many of us as possible at about 30 weeks and really scare the hotel staff! I'm definitely up for it - good idea RH! It's the only way we could all meet and I really would like to put faces (and bumps) to all the wonderful, supportive, chatty folk on this thread.

Hotlips - NICE THINKING re halfway point of pgcy!!! That lets me off the hook until... uh oh, 2 weeks before Christmas. Think I'm gonna have to extend that a leetle longer!

Bugmum · 29/11/2006 14:29

GGF - Surely it should be divided into thirds and not halves, as whoever heard of a pregancy divided into anything but trimesters? So by that reckoning, I would think (going by some books) that we have until week 28 to pig out And then perhaps we should curb it a bit

Greengirlforever · 29/11/2006 14:44

Ah Bugmum - how well you understand me!!!! That takes me to nearly the end of January. Sorted!

geordiemacminx · 29/11/2006 14:52

And I'm sure I read something somewhere sayig that the last trimester is the most important for the baby putting on weight... so there more you need to eat more around this time.. plus I'm sure you would be burning more calories from carryiing a heavy bump around with you... its like the training they do in the army.. only instead of a rucksack on the back we have a bump on the front.

Bugmum · 29/11/2006 15:00

Geordie - hurrah! And then those of us who are bfing shouldn't diet straight away...I reckon that takes us nicely up to the summer

geordiemacminx · 29/11/2006 15:05

I was thinking of breast feeding til the lo was at least 4.... KIDDING!!!! [GRIN]

bubblez · 29/11/2006 15:22

Hello all,

PMSL reading the last few posts!!!! So I guess that means that I justify eating all the mince pies that I've been gorging on!!

Speaking of breastfeeding how many of us are thinking of 'trying' (i say trying cos despite my attemps i only lasted 2weeks with dd) to breastfeed? I'm think I'm going to try harder this time around and use formula to 'top up' if pos. dd was very hungry and milk didnt 'come in' till late and I felt that she was constantly stuck to my norks.

BTW welcome opinionsrus - I too am a backpain sufferer, esp after hoovering and other simular chours. Although after reading about the way some of these ladies are suffering I count my blessings. Oh and congrats on your sausage!!!

AND congrats on your scan sallyc and your pos sausage and claricebean on your pink hamburger...and Hiedle on your healthy baby/scan...

1b3 I know that it has been said before but you really are a saint! I wouldnt have anywhere near enough patience in your pos, esp with the hormonal rolercoaster that pregnancy alone brings.

Maveta good news about dh not having to cut holdiday short...

Sos if I've left anyone out....x

MIAM - where are you/how are you?

21+2
xzx

Greengirlforever · 29/11/2006 15:23

GGM "instead of a rucksack on the back we have a bump on the front" - love it and how true!!!

Now be careful, or you'll be on one of those "specialist" breastfeeding tv programmes!

Bugmum · 29/11/2006 15:37

bubblez - I did a year bf with DS, and I am hoping for around the same with this one, all being well. They are stuck to you permanently at first, but once they hit around 10 pounds (unless you give birth to a HUGE bubba, of course), it usually gets more regular, I believe
